We are excited to announce a first for Beach Buggy Racing: A brand new, limited edition Rez plush toy! We are crowdfunding this toy on Makeship now through April 5.
Several months ago we asked Beach Buggy Racing fans on our Discord Server to find out which character they most wanted to see as a plush toy. Rez won the vote, and we went straight to work with our friends at Makeship to design a toy that perfectly captures Rez's smirky attitude.
Here's how the crowdfunding works:
We need to sell at least 200 copies of the toy for it to go into production. To make the deal even more sweet, we’re offering a special gift — every order of the Rez plush also comes with a code for a Mound of Gems redeemable in Beach Buggy Racing 2 (mobile edition).
Don’t delay, because when the campaign ends on April 5, the chance to buy Rez will zoom off in a cloud of flame.

These leaderboards will be intimate affairs, only available to players with the most recent update of the game. Right now, that's only Steam players! We'll be showcasing the newest content in BBR2: Island Adventure, including Commander Nova and all the new cars in the Hot Wheels Booster Pack and our two new DLC, the Turbo Titans Car Pack and High Octane Moto Pack.

Double DLC release and a patch update
Turbo Titans Car Pack and the High Octane Moto Pack drop today. The Turbo Titans pack brings five count'em FIVE new cars, and the High Octane pack introduces motorcycles!
Both these DLC packs are on sale for their first week out the gate, so get them while they're hot!
We've also patched the base game with a number of fixes that you, our beloved community, helped us track down. These include:
Fixed wheels on Candy Coupe gold skin
Fixed invisible spears on Waste Rod and Spear Chaser gold skins
Fixed collision bugs in Octane City
Added powerups to Sun City Strip Firework Fury
Placed new decal paint cans for unlocking
Oh AND -- there are 3 new music tracks in the game. Just for funs.

Surprise update!
Hey everyone. Long time no talk. Guess what?
We have a massive new update for you!
The most highly anticipated, top-secret, frequently asked-for, totally unanticipated update to Beach Buggy Racing 2: Island Adventure is here! BBR2:IA version 2023.08.08 brings a ton of new content and important tuning updates to the core game as well as improvements to the Hot Wheels DLC and two brand new DLC packs (coming soon).
Island Adventure Upgrades
Top of the list of improvements to the Island Adventure base game is the addition of a new character, Commander Nova. Nova is a canine space explorer with a love of adventure and a passion for liver treats. Her Liftoff ability boosts her forward and above the field of competition, opening up new shortcuts on many of the tracks in the game.
In addition, we have two new city-themed racetracks: Octane City and Sun City Strip. Octane City is a towering car-themed metropolis filled with skyscrapers, with a beautiful autumnal park right in the center. Sun City Strip is a neon-lit beach town with wide boulevards perfect for cruising (and street races). Both city tracks feature our new traffic simulator, populating the roads with cars and taxis to avoid or smash.
We also have the addition of two new cars for your racing pleasure — the pumpkin chariot Screamin’ Jack and the sweet-n-speedy Candy Coupe.
Finally, we've added a number of a number of additional features and improvements, including car horns and an advanced Photo Mode for taking incredible screenshots. Just hit the Pause button, compose your perfect shot, and hide the UI for a share-ready masterpiece! (Requires gamepad controller.)
New DLC and Hot Wheels Boosted
Oh wait, did I say “finally”? There’s more! Steam users will also have the option of two new DLC: the Turbo Titans Car Pack and the High Octane Moto Pack, as well as free improvements to the Hot Wheels Booster Pack.
The Turbo Titans Car Pack injects a powerful shot of adrenaline with a diverse fleet of five incredible vehicles, including an electric supercar, a wasteland hot rod built from an airplane, and a fire truck themed monster truck. Each machine is crafted with a completely unique persona, designed to refresh your game with a variety of new racing experiences and tactics.
The High Octane Moto Pack lets you experience the roar of engines and the rush of wind against your face with high-speed motorcycle racing. Commandeer three unique bikes: a rugged dirt bike, a turbocharged street beast, and a fusion-powered superbike from the future.
But wait, there’s more! We’re adding brand new content to the Hot Wheels Booster Pack! We’ve got two new cars, the twin-tastic Twinduction and Street Wiener, aka the giant hot dog on wheels. Both cars are available unlocked right out of the box. We’ve also added a new Hot Wheels themed racetrack — the space-themed Outer Limit with upside-down tracks and death defying zero-gravity jumps.

You may have recently read our surprise announcement that the super-fun and ultra-wacky Oddball Car Pack is shipping out in a couple of weeks. Maybe you were excited!

Countdown to Toilet Cars
Hey Beach Bums! We just announced a new DLC for Beach Buggy Racing 2: Island Adventure. The Oddball Car Pack lands first in the world on Steam, coming to you hot and smashy on September 24.
The new car pack comes with four kooky new vehicles, including a huge tank that can smash through obstacles without slowing down, a hovering UFO with plenty of boop-beep-boop, a pizza delivery wagon with extra flair, and last but not least a... well.... it's kind of a... OK fine it's a toilet.
Now building against SDL 2.0.16, in order to fix a new crash introduced with the previous version. The previous version was upgraded from SDL 2.0.12 to 2.0.15 in order to support PS5 DualSense Controllers. This seems to have caused a new crash on start-up for some specific device configurations.
But that's all fixed now. OH, and super awesome bonus surprise -- we also introduced a new car paint family, the Chrome Paints! Shiny, metallic, reflective, and oh-so-did-I-already-say-shiny, these new paints will blind your opponents with the awesome power of shine.
