In this patch we have made a lot of changes in order to balance the PvP mechanics. We now have contested and free zones in the game. In contested zones you can only build with flag, contested zones always have static resource hubs that will supply you with rare resources as long as you can hold your position. Several items have their requirements changed that will now require some of these resources. In the future we will add more resources to the game that you'll be able to find in contested zones.
In free zones you can now build some the same platforms and build next to each other, creating towns and player-hubs for everyone who wants to play together but not reside in the same tribe. To prevent others from building next to you you can always put up a flag that will prevent others from building in the area.
In contested zones things are different, you can only build with a flag and you can actually take over buildings & structures now if you manage it to get your flag up. Ownership of doors will remain unchanged, so if you do not want to destroy someone's base completely you just have to take down all their personal structures like beds, metal safes and doors. Your claimflag will allow you to build everywhere and use all structures.
All structures received a massive boost in hitpoints, we would like you to give us feedback on these values as we are pretty sure some might be too high, others might be too low. This is something we can patch/update on the fly so throughout the week. Oil fields can be found around the area -28 / -28. We have added 4 fields for now.
- All weapons have received rebalanced weapon values.
- Knife does lowest melee damage.
- Stone Axe does medium melee damage.
- Metal Axe does highest melee damage.
- Pistols do lowest ranged damage.
- Rifles do medium ranged damage.
- Snipers and Crossbow do high ranged damage.
- Wooden structures received a massive boost in hitpoints.
- Wooden Wall now has 2800 hitpoints (old was 400).
- Wooden Door now has 2000 hitpoints (old was 400).
- Wooden Wall with window now has 2800 hitpoints (old was 300).
- Wooden Stair now has 1000 hitpoints (old was 300).
- RADAR now has 5000 hitpoints (old was 2000).
- Furnace now has 800 hitpoints (old was 400).
- Small House now has 2000 hitpoints (old was 300).
- Medium House now has 3000 hitpoints (old was 350).
- Guard Tower now has 2000 hitpoints (old was 400).
- Metal Safe now has 2000 hitpoints (was 800).
- Wirefence now has 4000 hitpoints (was 250).
- Wooden Door damage is no longer owner only.
- Concrete Walls can be destroyed and received 8000 hitpoints.
- Concrete Platforms can be destroyed and received 30000 hitpoints.
- Concrete platforms and walls no longer have an owner. Everyone can build on or around them x
- Fixed a placement bug with platform.
- Fixed a dupe exploit on TanningRack and Tablesaw.
- Added animation to concrete walls for destruction.
- Added new visuals to various items to reflect their hitpoints state.
- Servers now have an option to disable/enable destruction.
- Servers now have an option to disable/enable owner-only destruction.
- Added some anti-cheat routines to private servers so admins have a better overview about their game. Information will be parsed into smartFox.
- You can now shoot through the wirefence but only damage it with melee weapons.
- All wooden structures require woodplanks. (Some required woodlogs, so the tablesaw did not give any building boost)
- Concrete Walls, Platforms and Wirefence no longer count as personal objects, wooden structures, towers and items do. (You can build together now without being in a tribe/connect platforms - use flags to prevent others from doing so, claimflag does not allow others to build in your area at all)
- Static Oil Spawns have been added to the game.
- You can now construct the Oil Tower in order to get the new oil resource. (12000 HP have been added to the structure)
- Contested zones have been added. In these zones you need a flag to build and you can only build in it's area of effect.
- Fixed a bug where bullets would hit colliders they were not supposed to hit.
- Fixed a bug that caused stairs not to properly align.
- Blueprints are back in the game. Put them into the CNCTable and wait for magic!
- Some weapons can no longer be crafted at the crafting table.
- Some items now require oil in order to make them.
- Fixed a dupe exploit involving the metal safe.
- Fixed a glitch that allowed it to circumvent building restrictions.
- Fixed nametags and increased range a little bit.
Note for server admins:
The default persistantObjects.dat file contains the oil spawns for the game. If you like to reset your server at some point make sure to backup this file, as only deleting it will result in a fresh server WITHOUT oil fields. The configuration file now has the option to disable structure damage OR set damaging system to owner-only.
Patch 8 - On the road to victory. (More PvP, More Crafting, More Destruction, More Fixes)
In this patch we are extending the PvP mechanics and among a bunch of technical fixes and updates we also added a few new items for you. The way you are building in the game is very likely to change now with this update - many structures can be destroyed and we can't wait on your feedback on these changes. For the PvP mechanics we'll definitly need your help! Are structures too easy or too hard to destroy ? Were you able to attack a base and take it over ? How are the mechanics coming together ?
This patch introduces a lot of features that we initially wanted to see in the game - but in order to make them work together perfectly it's necessary that you'll give us some feedback - so head out and please let us know what you think! The crafting system is getting extended, we are planning to bring the CNC Table back to life next week, make adjustments to the current PvP mechanics and push a bit harder for more content. Next patch should feature static resource hubs like massive stone spawns and oil fields. With the introduction of oil many items will be harder to craft, many weapons will require some plastic so you'll have to either conquer one of the oil fields or trade with the owners!
Unfortunatly due to the changes and amount of exploits fixed we had to wipe the official another time. We intend not to wipe the server anymore unless it's necessary (due to exploits).
- Updated: Concrete Platforms have been moved a bit closer to you during build-mode to make placing easier.
- Updated: Wooden Tower is no longer bigger than than the one in build-mode after placing.
- Updated: Bump-Mapping increased on conrete platforms.
- Updated: Removed menu from the claim-flag as it's no longer needed. Other player's can destroy it when they like to build in your area.
- Updated: If you are the owner of a structure you can destroy it 5 times faster.
- Updated: Structure Damage now actually takes the amount of damage rather than just the count of hits. (Makes metal axe more usefull since it does more dmg

- Updated: Dinosaur despawn timer has been increased from 60 seconds to 120 seconds so you have more time for looting/finding it's head (that opens the loot window)

- Added: Wooden stairs so you now can create really cool multi-level structures without jumping on the roof from towers.
- Added: Wooden wall with window.
- Added: Added/Changed sounds to various items.
- Added: Tanning Rack. Allows you to convert dinosaur skin to hide. The process takes pretty long so you'll better protect it!
- Added: Table Saw. For each woodlog you'll receive 3 wood-planks for faster building.
Patch 7 - PvP System And Structure Destruction.
In this patch we have revamped the several key mechanics of the game in order to give a nicer look & feel experience in the game. The PvP System is now active, featuring a new hit-detection, revamped character models, several tweaks in game-play. Additionally another batch of reported issues have been solved. The destruction system is now partially active - we will allow you to destroy more structures through-out the week and add proper animations/loot to destroyed structures.
Dinosaurs have received a small graphical improvement as well. We need your feedback on the new system so after playing please spend a moment on the forums and let us know what you think about the patch. We are especially interested in knowing how you feel about the PvP system, does it feel smooth ? Is it too easy/still too hard to hit someone ? Next week we intend to add the Oil Fields plus the items & structures for them but before we start working on that we would like to balance the PvP-mechanics a little bit.

- The game now takes less CPU/GPU resources. Optimized some code.
- The escape key now behaves like the Tab Key. Can be configured in the start-screen.
- Sector Coodinates have a higher resolution / changed to be more accurate.
- The range to pick-up items has been slightly increased.
- The claimflag can now be crafted from start using wood/stone.
- The claimflag can no longer be picked up. Instead, it can be destroyed in 5 melee hits.
- The small house can be destroyed in 22 hits. No animation yet, we will add this. Build custom houses or use platforms and walls.

Patch 6 - A New Start - or how we should have launched.
In this patch we have updated the whole game-world, new textures, new algorithms for the game-world design, physical shaders on dinosaurs, updated player-modells, water shaders (see full changelog below). But more importantly, we finally found the bug that caused network packets to be dropped sometimes on servers. We have rewritten the spawn routines from scratch and the game-world is filled now with wildlife and resources.
Again, based on your feedback we will make progress so please, don't forget to talk to us. This version now pretty much reflects how we imagined our launch would be like - as you know things were a bit different. But every time we look back to that day we only come to one conclusion - we NEEDED you, 99% of the changes, how the game looks, feels and progresses is because of the people who have been supporting us for the very first minute. We will not stop working hard on this and we would like to thank everyone again who has been supporting us already. Next week we will have a small present for you in-game which we hope you'll enjoy.

Update 5 - New Graphics, Dinosaurs Loot, Food & new Items/Structures

finally this is the first patch that starts focusing on new content. We have added a food system, spiced the dinosaurs with a better AI and loot, improved the graphics and fixed a bunch of performance bugs. This week we will continue to add more content to the game, we haven't even started yet!

Update No. 4 - NPC AI, Bugfixes & more improvements

today we are a bit late with our update but during the last tests we discovered some nasty UI bugs that we like to get fixed before releasing the next update. In this update we are addressing the dinosaur AI behavior and fix a lot of UI bugs. With more people giving us feedback about in-game mechanics we already feel that the game is slowly getting ready for content-updates. In the next week we will enable the destruction system and put more game-mechanics in place that are not yet active.
Our 3D artist already developed a few new items which we would like to implement asap. So hopefully your ingame experience will improve to a level where the amount of little glitches and bugs is on an acceptable level. Before we released this update we had an Interview with FatPlanetJP so if you like to get know us a little bit more check out his Podcast.

Patch 3 - Graphics, Balancing and Improvements.

today we release our 3rd Patch addressing performance, bugfixes and game-play issues. We are happy that you started giving us feedback on game-play mechanics, for us this means we are on the right way since you finally seem to have a much better ingame experience. As always please head to the forums and make a bugreport if you run into any issues, over the next days we will be collecting your issues and try to put as many as possible in the next update. Within the next week we will also activate more PvP mechanics and full-destruction of all buildings/structures will be activated. Again we would like thank you guys for being so patient with us. SERVER:
- FIXED : Fixed a bug preventing stone to spawn sometimes.
- FIXED : Lowered CPU-Load by optimizing server-code. (Server runs 100 times faster & takes less CPU)
- ADDED : A config.xml that can be updated on the fly to enable/disable dinosaurs, change the server name, change spawn-rate of stone.

Important Notes:
The official server received a full wipe because of the changes to Terrain & Bugfixes. We recommend that you wipe your private server files as well so you do not run into bugs caused by
an outdated Objectsfile. If you are hosting a dedicated server using a custom smartFox installation you should copy the updated Java extension to it's corresponding folder.

Server:
- FIX: Reduced read/write cycles of inventories improving performance.
- FIX: Removed Debug Code to improve performance.
- FIX: Fixed a critical bug resulting in items sometimes vanishing.
- FIX: Fixed a bugged that prevented the server to announce itself stopping it from being visible in the community server list.
- FIX: Fixed a bug causing over-spawning of NPCs.
- CHANGE: Added a static limit for dinosaur spawns for private servers to prevent over-spawning.
- CHANGE: Increased spawn area of dinosaurs but also moved it further away from structures.

Redemption Update No.1 - Bugfixes & PvP enabled!

we have published a new build of the game containing lots of fixes. See below! We are seeking redemption from yesterday's launch and will continue to produce more updates at a frequent rate. Please keep reporting your issues on the forums. We hope this will grant us some more positive reviews. If you already wrote a review for our game we would kindly ask you to give it another try. Especially with PvP and Guns enabled the game should be alot more fun now!
Server:
- FIX: Official Server got it's dinosaur spawns temporarily disabled. We are working on the spawn-rate mechanic and they should be back soon. Private servers are unaffected by this.
- FIX: Increased the spawn-rate of stone.
- FIX: Decreased the range of stone spawning so it's easier for players to find them.
- FIX: Fixed a bug that prevented our realm controller to announce your private server to the public.
- FIX: There was alot of client lag caused by Woodlog which have not been picked up. It despawns now automatically after some time.
- NEW: The server will now produce a XML file with your stats in it's working directory showing amount of players/NPCs/resources spawned. You can utilize that to observe/show the status of your dedicated server. E.g. include it in your home-page.

- CHANGE: The "Claim Land" - Flag had it's requirements trippled so it's not longer used as a griefing tool.
- FIX: Fixed a "launch issue" when playing local. Sometimes the client got stuck at "Connecting..."
- FIX: Fixed the scrollbar in the private servers window.
Global:
- WIPE: Due to the amount/type of items we had to do an item/structures wipe on our official server. This should be a fresh restart from yesterday's nightmare launch.
- Enabled PvP mechanics! Full loss of inventory is still disabled.
Known Issues:
- Crafting tools were not supposed to damage other players, we can either fix that or make it a proper feature. Will be updated in the next fix.
Launch issues! Please read!
Hello everyone,
we would like to inform potential buyers about the current issues in the game. In the initial launch players were experiencing huge client lag issues resulting in the game being unplayable - caused by the NPCs.
We identified the problem and were forced to disable Dinosaurs on the official server to eliminate most of the lag. If you still like to play with Dinosaurs you will have to launch the private server we are shipping with the game now and host your own game. Early players have discovered quite a few bugs that will affect your game-play in a bad way, all kinds of UI bugs and broken game mechanics - especially on the official server.
We have already updated the server software to address some of the issues. Within the next 2-3 days we will update the client and try to address as many issues as possible. Additionally we would like to apologize to existing customers for the bad initial experience and we will do everything we can to improve your ingame experience.
