Blazing Beaks v1.1 is here! Thanks to our community for making suggestions and sending ideas. Some of the them made it to this update. After reading all the feedback and ideas for this update we focused on adding more content and making the game accessible to more players. So here's a brief summary of what's new in this expansion.
17 new artifacts have been added in the game so get ready for even more hectic artifact combinations. Don't forget to bring those pesky artifacts to the Crow, because with this update it will additionally have 6 new items to offer. One of the most anticipated things which our community voted for was new characters. So Blazing Beaks officialy increases beaks squad with 2 new characters in the game. We are also introducing Challenges mode. 5 new challenges with some twists will require even more dexterous while you make your way through piles of enemies. Speaking of enemies the total monsters army in the game has been increased by adding 2 new enemies. One of them will test your skills at its hardest while another will make things a bit easier. We spent a lot of time trying to make the game accessible to as many players as possible. Blazing Beaks has been localized into 5 additional languages - Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French and Spanish. That makes a total of 11 different languages in the game.
We hope that you like and enjoy this update. Don't hesitate to give us your feedback and suggestions.
DRM-free version update should come out shortly. Due to long approval processes update for Nintendo Switch should come out in January 2020.

Daily Leaderboards
Hi everyone,
When we introduced Daily Runs feature, players mentioned that it would be great if there would be a more convenient way to view leaderboards. Besides viewing leaderboards in the game after the run, standard leaderboards table on Steam community page and previously introduced TOP 10 leaderboard in https://blazingbeaks.com website with some additional information we created a new dedicated website for Daily Leaderboards including Daily Runs archive, summary of all runs for a specific player and etc.
Feel free to check Blazing Beaks Official leaderboards website: https://zit.ninja/leaderboards/
It includes leaderboards both from Steam and DRM free versions respectively. It also has Daily Runs archive - you can choose any date to view the leaderboard for that date. Or if you wish, you can also view All Time leaderboard which combines each user’s highest results amongst all Daily Runs into one table.
Besides player name, rank and score now leaderboard table also shows how many artifacts were collected, which character Daily Run was played with, how long it lasted, what was the reason of the death. Using pagination it’s possible to go through all the results. By clicking on character image or on enemy name and you can go straight to the official Blazing Beaks wiki website and read more information about that particular character, enemy, boss or special game object.
By clicking on any player in the leaderboard you can see a summary of that players’ daily runs with some additional statistics like highest rank, highest score, average run time, nemesis along with all the data of individual player runs.
Steam players can login using their Steam account and link their social media channels to their profile. If any social media channel is linked, then social channel icon appears in leaderboard next to player’s name and other can easily go to your social media channel by simply clicking on the icon.
We will keep improving leaderboards website in the future, so feel free to suggest your ideas on how we can do that.
Best regards,
Blazing Beaks Team
Update 29 (v1.0.1.0)
Hi,
We’ve got a lot of feedback after release. Some rare bugs were found and reported so we published few hotfix updates before this one, but haven’t posted any patch notes. We also updated Blazing Beaks Character Editor a couple of times.
We read all the feedback and issues addressed and this update already has a solutions to some of them. We adjusted RNG a bit, because there were a lot of concerns that drops are too random. Now artifact drops will be more consistent without any big amount of levels without artifact drops in a row.
Also there were a lot of notes saying that shop doors appear too randomly or that there is no shop at all in the area. We want to emphasize that at least one shop door is guaranteed in every area pre-loop. In other words, it’s is guaranteed that you will find at least one shop door if you go till the last level of the area, where the only choice to go from there is boss door. This rule remains unchanged.
Added new “windowed” mode in video settings for display. It will upscale the game in windowed mode to the maximum to fit in the screen. This is useful for players who have high resolution monitors and want to play in windowed mode.
Changes
The type of run (Normal/Seeded/Daily) will be written in the end screen.
Adjusted some weapons parameters representation.
Proofread English texts.
Added visual representation when weapon jams having Dirty Bubble Gum artifact.
Balance
Artifact drops will be more consistent.
Rebalanced loot drop from chests. Now chests in the locked levels will be more rewarding.
Increased weapon damage for Nail Gun, Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher and Acid Gun.
Balanced Newt boss. Now there will be more tongue attacks.
Balanced the maximum stackable number for Blue Gem item.
Bug fixes
Fixed a bug where the game crashes when too small mod sprites textures are loaded.
FIxed a bug with aiming where weapon was shooting not exactly through the center of crosshair.
Stacked Shadow artifact was working as a single artifact even if multiple Shadow artifacts were stacked. Now Shadow artifact cannot be stacked.
At the moment you can check Daily Runs Leaderboard TOP 10 in Blazing Beaks website https://blazingbeaks.com. In a few days we will introduce a lot more features for Blazing Beaks leaderboards which will be available in blazingbeaks.com.
And even more exciting news!!! We started working on Blazing Beaks big content update (expansion) :)
Stay tuned!
Best regards,
Blazing Beaks Team

Update 27 (v0.9.0) Daily Runs
Hi,
The new Blazing Beaks update is live now! It took longer than expected to make this new update, it needed a lot of testing to make sure it works as expected. In addition to that, we’ve been working on full release version as well which also affected the timeframe of this update.
A lot of things were happening behind the scenes at the same time. We had an opportunity to attend Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Blazing Beaks was showcased in two events: The Mix and European Game Showcase. We met a lot of amazing people, got very valuable feedback and suggestions. Some players who tried Blazing Beaks for the very first time beat us in tournament so quickly that we didn’t even realize what happened :) We spread the word about Blazing Beaks and already got new fans of the game.
This update introduces Daily Runs. Players now can compete with each other in newly generated run everyday. Each daily run can be played only once and most of unlockables cannot be unlocked in this mode. Daily run can be played in co-op mode too.
Players get ranked by the total score they accumulate in the end of the run. And here's more detailed information on how the score is calculated:
10 POINTS for every opened chest;
30 POINTS for every deal in the shop (artefacts/items exchange, weapon purchase, reviving co-op player);
For every picked up artefact, it’s RISK VALUE IS MULTIPLIED BY 100 and that’s the amount of points the player gets (for example: artefact risk value 0.3 means that player gets 30 points);
Player gets the amount of points equal to killed ENEMY OR BOSS STARTING HP;
And the most important thing is MULTIPLIER. The more artefacts player has in possession, the higher multiplier is.
We need more players to try daily runs to see a general view of how the system, points calculation is working and etc. So don’t hesitate to give us your feedback so that we could improve it in the future.
Changed artefacts, items, abilities drops in seeded runs a little bit. Now players who will use the same seed will notice that the drop will not be exactly the same compared to the older game version.
Optimized enemies.
Changed Fat Fly explosion visuals.
Balance
Balanced Graveyard boss Bogy.
Balanced Red forest boss Crux.
Bug fixes
Fixed a bug where it was possible to open “More information characters” window when countdown for level loading started.
Fixed a bug where visual representation of Iron Wings active ability was visible when character jumped through the door.
Fixed a bug where same layout levels were generated often in Tournament mode.
It is the last bigger update before full release. We will announce the release date soon.
Good luck with daily runs and shall the best player win :D
Best regards,
Blazing Beaks Team
Update, The MIX and EGS
We haven’t posted anything about Blazing Beaks for a while, but we want to let you know that so much has been going on behind the scenes and we are intensively working on Blazing Beaks. As we are only 2 people team, it takes time to complete everything that was planned especially when additional things add up. Also we are planning to attend GDC 2019 event and preparation for that takes time too.
We mentioned that we were working on v0.9.0 update that was supposed to be finished and released by now. However, it took a lot longer than we expected and we would be extremely happy if we could release it before leaving for GDC. However, due to huge workload we cannot promise that. We don’t want to rush the update, it’s better to test everything carefully and be sure that everything works. We want to say big thank you for being so patient and supportive all this time.
As we mentioned, a lot of cool things are going on behind the scenes and soon we will start sharing them, so stay tuned! :)
Talking about GDC, Blazing Beaks will be showcased in two invitation only events in San Francisco during GDC week:
If anyone wants to meet and chat in San Francisco during GDC week on 18th-22nd March let us know! It would be really awesome to meet Blazing Beaks fans :)
Update 26 (v0.8.1)
Hi everyone,
We are very glad to start 2019 with a new Blazing Beaks update. Now you can play not only normal runs as before but also seeded runs where players will be able to play exactly the same runs if the same seed number is entered.
Although seeded runs guarantee the same levels layout, the same amount of enemies, the same type of enemies and even which enemies drop loop - sometimes the outcome of loot dropped will be different. This is because loot drop depends on various things and player actions - for example, if player decides not to pick up any artefact, decides exchange them into items or not and etc.
In seeded runs all items, artefacts can be dropped and all weapons can be used so most of unlockables cannot be unlocked in this mode.
Players now will be able to select game difficulty level of their choice. Normal difficulty is the one that you played by default up to this update. The game is intended to be played in Normal difficulty. Nevertheless, there are players to whom the game is too easy or too difficult. For them we made Easy and Hard difficulty levels. Easy - enemies have only half HP as in Normal difficulty. Hard - enemies are more aggressive and deal twice as more damage. We encourage players who play Easy or Hard difficulties to leave feedback in Steam community hub: https://steamcommunity.com/app/585710/discussions/
We also added Aim Assist feature. You can choose the amount of aim assist to help you aim to enemies. If it's set to 100%, then it will aim to the nearest possible enemy for you.
As we promised before, we added keyboard binding feature. Now in Options, Keyboard Layout you can set your preferred keys for playing the game.
More patch notes below:
New
Added seeded runs in the game. Type of run (normal or seeded) is now selected in additional menu window. Most of the unlockables cannot be unlocked in this mode, although all items, artefacts can be dropped and all weapons can be used in seeded runs.
Added different difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Hard.
Added Aim Assist. It can be adjusted in Options -> Game.
Added an option to bind keyboard keys in Options -> Controls -> Keyboard Layout.
Changes
Improved vibration for gamepads.
Changed “More about characters” window trigger button for gamepads from “Select” to “Start”.
Changed switching Log pages buttons from Z/X to V/B.
Updated some Xbox controller button images.
Removed “Run and Aim” setting since Aim Assist was added.
Changed tutorial window instructions, now every action is represented with an icon.
Most of unlockables now cannot be unlocked playing with Custom heroes.
Bug fixes
Fixed a bug where tutorial text bubble was moving when the game was paused.
Additionally some various optimizations and small bug fixes were done too.
Best regards,
Blazing Beaks Team
