Technical patch
In the technical patch following issues have been solved:
1) Fixed save loading issue.
(take note that saves made before tech works are always not working after tech works)
2) Fixed errorcode_userglobusloadfailed error. Users, who encountered this problem, are able to play now.
3) Fixed battle reports issue - some players were not able to see their battle reports. Now you can!
4) Fixed rewards bug - some players did not receive rewards for completening missions, from now on all the rewards will be given correctly.
5) Increased number of units you can attach to defense. Before you may have had reserve points and units left after setting up the base's defense, now it won't happen - you can put more units on the base's map.

Good evening, officers!
A lot of interesting things await you in the 0.9.10 update. Most of the things we’ve added to the game this time were requested by our community. In this post, we’ll briefly tell you about the latest game changes. Click on a specific topic to learn more. Here we go!
You’ve been asking for them. You’ve been waiting for them. And they’re finally here! Based on the numerous requests of fans of the previous parts of the game, as well as fans of military strategies in general, we’ve introduced the ability to move the artillery. You will now be able to control mobile howitzers, anti-tank guns and AA guns. They are available in the game as separate units. You can add them to your assault group or use them as reinforcements.
If the crew using the fortification is killed, it can be occupied by either your forces or the enemy.
Mobile artillery can be entrenched. In this position, it loses the ability to move in exchange for increased defense of the gun and the crew. Bear in mind that the entrenched artillery has a limited barrel rotation range, so use this ability wisely to defeat the enemy.
Mobile artillery has low maneuverability, but, similar to infantry, units of this type are disguised when they enter forested areas.
Animation of shooting in many mobile fortifications is not in the final quality.
The next important innovation is a Workshop for units. You’ll be able to improve your tanks, infantry, weapons and even air support using the latest engineering developments.
Upgrades can be unlocked using research points. You receive research points for battles - the longer you fight and the more efficient you are, the more points you’ll get.
You need to complete missions in order to receive research points for them. The command will reward you with engineering resources for successful operations. Note that research points are awarded only one time!
You receive points differently in PvP mode. Points are awarded depending on the damage ratio and time spent in battle. Thus, you may receive almost nothing if your opponent is disconnected from the game or if you don’t perform any actions. Be more active! :)
Note that you will not receive research points for battles arranged through the lobby, including battles against our AI, Boris.
Many of you who have already advanced to the second and third eras want to fight in the eras you have already completed. You will now have this opportunity!
Previously, when you entered a new era your base moved with you and you couldn’t return to the previous era. You will now have a base at each phase of the war. You’ll be able to switch between them by changing the era. Each base will need to be equipped and defended, as the success of its defense will affect your rating. Your forces will be restricted to the era you are in and, as a consequence, you will not be able to assign a unit from the third era to protect a base from the second.
And so, you will be able to play in Assault and Skirmish modes in any of your available eras.
March on Berlin
The mission takes place in April 1945. Soviet troops are approaching Berlin from the east, encircling the city. According to intelligence reports, to the west of Berlin a large grouping of troops is trying to break free of the encirclement.
Your mission is to locate and attack the group of German troops ready to break through to the west, where, according to intelligence, there are Nazi criminals. You need to provoke them into attack, keep them busy, and hold the western area until the allied forces close the encirclement from the north and south.
V-2
While working on the game, we came to the decision that Deluxe edition owners should have an additional mission for each faction. You have probably already managed to complete one such mission for Germany - Dora. V-2 is a deluxe mission for the USSR.
According to our intelligence, the Germans are testing the latest V-2 rockets at the firing area near Debits. We must capture one of these rockets at any cost!
"Monkey temple" - New Map for Skirmish Mode
You will be fighting in the Malaysian jungle in a picturesque locale, where many waterfalls roar. The control points on this map are located in a peaceful village, in rice fields, and near an ancient temple. Combat operations were conducted in this area, and so part of the land has been mercilessly charred. But this doesn’t overshadow the jungle’s natural beauty. A feature of the map’s landscape is the abundance of areas covered by water, where passage through it will take longer than through land.
UI and graphics:
1. Globe icons have been changed As you already know, there are several types of missions in the game. We’ve slightly adjusted the look of icons on the globe, and we hope that you will like these changes.
There are two types of missions in the game.
Large icons indicate missions that unlock access to the next phases of the war. Small icons indicate side missions. The color of the mission reflects its difficulty relative to the forces at your command. The icon disappears once the mission has been completed. The shield icon marks your base, where you have to place your troops to defend against assaults.To head into battle against other players, click on the icon with two crossed guns.
2. Interface elements have been redesigned Changes apply to:
• mission description window (including text);
• window that shows information about your unit;
• window that opens when you place your cursor on a unit;
• now negative effect timers are displayed above units and on the central panel;
• a reload timer has been added for slow-shooting units.
3. Some weather effects in the game have been redesigned.
Missions and maps
1. Tutorial has been updated and improved.
2. Side mission maps have been improved as well.
3. Maps that house first-era bases, which you can also see in Assault mode, have been redesigned.
4. The "Swamp" and "Ravine" maps have been moved to other eras:
• "Swamp" has moved to the first era;
• "Ravine" has moved to the second era.
Technical details:
1. The game now loads much faster.
2. You can now disable voice notifications in the sound settings.
3. You can now select an era in the lobby.
If you choose, for example, the second era, you can use units only from the first and second eras, etc.
4. We’ve solved problems with the launch of some missions in the Mac version of the game.
Known problems:
1. Some images added in this update will be changed or improved.

Gameplay changes:
The opportunity to fight against artificial intelligence has been added! You can start a battle against the computer by creating "Custom game". After you configure the battle parameters, add AI as an opponent. Our brave General Boris is ready to get things going!
Please note: there is a 5-10 seconds delay at the start of the battle so that Boris won’t get an advantage while the player is loading.
Fixed issues:
1) Creation of a "Custom game" is available again.
2) Fixed the problem with loading saved games in missions.
3) Fixed the problem with textures in the "Operation Shingle" mission.
4) Fixed several problems in the performance of missions, as well as problems with matchmaking where players couldn’t find an opponent.
Tutorial added!
Changes in the game:
1) You can now complete a tutorial for each faction at the start of the game. It will help new users familiarize themselves with the basic mechanics and quickly get a feel for the game. This option won’t be offered to players who have already completed the starting missions for each of the factions.
2) 2 new side missions for the Allies were added:
1. Photo hunt July 1943. After the Allies landed in Sicily, the Italians began to evacuate important military installations onto the mainland. Our scout plane was able to take photos of the Italian ports and nearby enemy forces, but on the way back, the scout plane and its escort were shot down. Your mission: find the crash site of the scout and retrieve the photos.
2. Silent incursion In the fall of 1944, the Allied forces liberated most of France, but the Germans still would not retreat. There are large clusters of Axis forces in the area where you are about to conduct an operation. Fortunately, the groups of troops are divided and we have a chance to deal with them separately. If you manage to hold onto victory, you will soon be able to completely neutralize the enemy in this region.
3) The sandy map "Desert port" for Skirmish mode is available again.
4) Owners of the deluxe edition of the game can now get a reward for winning in battles - M6A2E.
Technical details:
1) The system for sound notifications about important events has been improved.
2) A lock is now shown over the units that can’t be taken with you in certain missions.
3) Obstructions are no longer marked on the minimap, and their health points are not displayed either.
4) Missions and PvP battles download faster now.
5) Two types of avia supports were strengthened:
- Significantly reduced smoke screen latency. Now it is on the battlefield almost instantly.
- Increased view radius for reconnaissance aircraft.
Known issues:
1) Skirkish modes 2x2 and 3x3 may not work correctly.
2) Custom game may not work properly.
9 new missions added!
We have introduced tips in the first missions - buttons, icons, and areas are highlighted to help newcomers find their way around faster.
9 new missions were added!
1. Failure of attack
In this mission, you must destroy the enemy’s huge ammo depot to ensure a successful offensive on the front.
2. Desert base
In this mission, your objective is to capture a German base that has great strategic importance. There are several checkpoints on its approach routes that won’t be easy to pass. Beware of enemy aircraft!
3. On the approach routes to the city
German troops have firmly dug in and are operating under aircraft cover. You must break through the opposition and free the city from occupation.
4. Operation in Messina
Your objective is to reach the German command headquarters, where a high-ranking officer is now. You must capture him and take him to the command headquarters to give a statement.
5. Rescue operation
One of the allied special groups was able to obtain important intelligence, but the group was discovered. The opposition is keeping the soldiers in a bunker in the interior of the island. They won’t hold out for long! You must rescue them and deliver the intel to the commander.
6. Battle of Aachen
At a break in the Siegfried Line, your army stumbled upon a heavily fortified site in the Aachen area. Fierce fighting is taking place on the approach routes to the city. Despite this, your special group managed to get into the city. Now you have to secure your positions.
7. Yelnya Offensive
In this mission, your objective is use a tactical ploy to lure the enemy away from the town and toward our minefields. Then force the weakened garrison out of the town.
8. Easy prey
December 1941, Libya. A British offensive runs along the entire front line. Combined units from Australia, Greece and Great Britain are pushing the German divisions toward Tobruk. Your mission is to break through to the German outpost, capture it, and hold it until reinforcements arrive.
9. Firestorm
In early August, 1942 Goth’s tank army performed an intense march and flanked Soviet troops to the southwest of Stalingrad. Command has decided to ambush it with Katyusha mortars near the Abganerovo train station. Your mission is to provide cover for the Katyushas and, with their help, stop the German assault.
A map for Skirmish Mode, "Port in the desert," was added! You will find out more about it in a separate news post.
New units were added for Deluxe edition owners.
You can get a hold of them, like with any other unit, by fighting in PvE and PvP.
Improved synchronization: downloading and updating players’ readiness status will go a little faster.
The "Army Reserve" window in the battle is now automatically hidden if the player gives an order or clicks an object on the battlefield.
Support on the globe was moved to the right side of the screen.
The display of infantry units in homes was modified.
Icons for effects from vehicles and the forest were modified.
A number of bugs were fixed.
The "reconnection" function was added. If a user loses connection with the game, he/she can return to the battle within 2 minutes (for PvP) or continue gameplay from the moment of the disconnection.
Voicing of important events in the game was added. For example, "Your troops were attacked" and "Enemy aircraft spotted."
The ability "Throw anti-tank grenade" was added for the assault infantry.
In PvE missions, the number of reinforcement points for the missions are now displayed.
In the window for the commander’s rewards, the units that you already received for moving up a level and the reward for subsequent levels are now displayed.
Known issues: 1. If you reconnect, the game may struggle upon loading the client after ending up a skirmish match. But don't worry - all the rewards and the raiting points will be added correctly.
2. There may be problems with registration in 2x2 and 3x3 skirmish modes.

Since the new map for Skirmish Mode is coming out, we’ve prepared an excellent opportunity for you to add units to your vehicle fleet by completing one simple objective!
All players who can win in Skirmish Mode (that includes winning 1x1, 2x2, and 3x3 matches) on February 23rd will receive a set of units as a reward:
• First era unit: Valentine Mk.IX
• Second era unit: PzKpfw VI Tiger
• Third era unit: T-44
Attention!
Completing the objective again will not earn you additional rewards.
The rewards will be distributed during the week after the end of the event.
The units will be awarded again after the wipe on the release of the game.

New Skirmish map!
The February 22nd update will thrill players with a new map for Skirmish Mode that allows you to battle in the desert.
There are several interesting places to discover on this map.
Let’s start by taking a look at the traditional three control points.
One of them is at the port, which has a picturesque view of the sea.
The other two are located near cities to the north and south of the map.
Between them is a city with beautiful minarets surrounded by gardens.
This map has endless points of interest! You can ambush the enemy by the railroads and rail station, by the small lakes, or by the oil warehouse, which we strongly suggest blowing up. :)

7 new missions added!
1. Now your friends in Steam will be automatically added to your friends list in the game.
2. Black list added – players on the black list will not be able to send you messages, invite you to their squads or add you as a friend.
3. Invasion of Poland, Battle of Arras, March on Daugavpils, Sabotage Campaign in North Africa, Operation Compass, Battle of El Alamein, The Luga Line, and Rjev operation missions are now much easier for new players to complete, and rewards for some of these missions have been changed.
4. 4 side-missions and 3 mini-missions were added.
We would like to highlight a new mission – Volokolamskoe Highway. It is based on the heroic deed of Soviet soldiers and officers from Major General Panfilov’s division. This act has already been immortalized in book (the novel Volokolamsk Highway) and film (Panfilov’s 28 Men) – and now also in Blitzkrieg 3!
5. You can enter the settings menu from the faction selection screen when launching your first game. To do that, press Esc.
6. Fixed the bug that caused Wirbelwind to shoot incorrectly.
7. New Year’s support and map events have been removed from the game.
8. Fixed a number of issues related to game saves and their loading.
9. Fixed the bug which made chat pop out after you pause the game.

Version 0.9.6. has impressed players with a new play mode – Custom Game. It's a great opportunity to find out which players are stronger in private fights. And Custom Game will help strategy experts test experimental tactics! You can play with your friends in teams of up to 3 people, or wage war against each other in individual combats. Playing against real opponents is always interesting!
Today, we will explain how to run in Custom Game mode so that you can hone team battle skills with your friends!
Custom Game instructions
1. Select the "Custom game" tab on the top panel of the gaming globe.
2. You will see the current list of private games created by other players.
You can join an existing game – filters will help you choose the best option. To join an existing game, click "Join". Or you can create your own private game by clicking "Сreate game".
3. You will see the window "Create private game".
In it you'll be able to:

You can invite your friends to join the new game by sending them an invitation with the "Invite" button on the "Contacts" tab (next to the chat tab).

When you get the perfect detached unit for attack, press "Attack". Your commander's icon will be in "Ready" status.
The private game will start when all players are ready for battle.
