Important - Beta Information

Gladiators!



First off we'd like to thank all of you for participating in the beta. While we do a lot of testing within the team and with external testing partners, it is impossible for us to properly simulate thousands of players actually playing the game - so having you all join us in this event is invaluable and greatly appreciated. We've located a number of issues and added some awesome new features like Smart Cast due to popular demand!

If you haven't yet answered the survey, please do! It's great to hear your feedback on all areas of the game and really helps us ensure we're delivering the best game possible. You can find a link from the main menu ingame.


The Beta will come to an end at 14.00 CDT / 12:00 PDT / 20:00 GMT on March 28 and the game will be unplayable until the official launch on March 30.



In preparation for launch, a few things will happen:

- Scoreboard and Path to Glory will be reset
During the Beta we've noticed a number of issues with players getting stuck in Path to Glory, in order to best fix these for launch we'll need to reset all users to the same save version. It also helps ensure that all players get a fresh start together with the newcomers at launch.

The Scoreboard will also be reset to start the competition to the top off with a bang. Don't worry though, we'll make sure to archive the top 100 players at www.bloodsports.tv for eternal glory!

- Achievements and Trading Cards will NOT be reset
You'll get to keep these for release!

- Pre-purchase Offer
There is currently an issue where users who have already activated the Beta are unable to receive the proper pre-purchase bonus we're offering for the game. Once the beta is over you'll be able to purchase the game at a discounted price and receive a FREE BONUS COPY to send to a friend! :cute:

Gameplay


- Added Smart Cast.

By public demand.

- Multiplayer balance tweaks! Health scaling per player for Champions, Beasts and Boxbots reduced from 40% to 30% and damage scaling reduced from 10% to 0%. Henchmen damage scaling reduced from 5% to 0% (and health scaling remaining at 25%). Bosses health and damage scaling unchanged at 50% and 10%.

We noticed that the games often got harder as more player joined the game, especially when player had not yet mastered their tank/healer roles. The idea it for the game to be equally hard - or if not, easier - as more players join in. It’s a co-op game after all.

- Score for being killed is now fully refunded when revived (Gladiator death score remains at -100, but revive score increased from +75 to +100).

You know that friend who always manages to get killed? Just make sure to revive them in time!

- Doubled the coin reward for slaying Beasts.

Because who doesn't love more money?

- Brutalizer Ground Slam ability, Hunter Rocket Jump ability and Old Moose Kick ability now applies its stun with a 0.2 seconds delay to prevent it from interrupting the pull/knockback effect.

Now working as intended.

- Buzzer’s Hyper Discharge now follows the ground!

Outlaws can no longer use stairs as tactical advantage against Buzzer.

- Fixed some wrong Grit (enemy effects resistance) values for Path to Glory rewards and abilities. Lisbeth’s Adamantine Field had most issues, increasing the duration of enemy effects by 33% instead of reducing them by 75%.

Art


- The Mad Butcher’s Acid Bombardment ability now has a pulsating cyst in its AOE effect that pops as the AOE explodes.

Yuck.


UI



- There is now a Surrender option in the ingame menu. This ends the game but lets you collect your currently achieved score.

Sometimes you just know its over..

- Vamp Strike, Crit Chance, Crit Damage, Deflect and Grit is now shown in player stats UI in the HUD.

Information, yay!

- Updated and standardized some stats names: ‘Damage’ is now ‘Attack Damage’, all instances of ‘Critical Chance/Damage’ changed to ‘Crit Chance/Damage’ and ‘Stun Resistance’ is now ‘Grit’ (it doesn’t only affect stuns).

- The effect granted by Solar Collector and B2 Power Rod has been renamed from Solar Collector to Recharge to match the items’ ability name.

- The Village Hero’s “Village Hero Immortality” ability has been renamed to “Rallying Cry” to better match what it does.

It didn’t make him immortal...


Sound


- Fixed a bug where dying would override players’ sound settings.


Tech


- Fixed issues with multi-hit projectiles (Buzzer’s Hyper Discharge and more) which caused them to not hit all targets in its path when playing at low frame rates.

- A lot of FPS and Memory optimization.

- Fixed a crash for when Mayor Havok used his Grenade Rain ability.

- Fixed a crash when applying graphics settings (and when applying other settings too if it caused graphics settings to be saved).

Probably the most common crash in the world.


Misc


- Alt and Ctrl are now reserved for Self Cast and Level Up abilities and will automatically follow any changes in hotkeys.

- Game should now attempt to prevent the chat from opening while using Alt + Enter.

Game is now 12% less annoying.

- Numpad enter should now also work for the lobby chat.

That's another 3%!

- Added additional safety checks for resetting player progress from Settings menu.

Can also be used if you just wanna experience the Path to Glory again!

Gameplay



  • Normal (7 waves) and Long (10 waves) game lengths are now unlocked from start rather than being unlocked from Path to Glory. Default game length on install is now 10 waves.
    It's just more fun this way.
  • Delay between waves increased by 15 seconds. it is now 60 seconds for “normal” waves and 75 seconds for boss waves. Note that this delay is scaled with Leagues.
    More time for shopping!
  • Swift Vengeance achievement requirement lowered from 2500 vengeance kills to 250 vengeance kills.
    You could say we made Vengeance even Swifter..
  • Mad Butcher ability ‘Osmosis Aura’ renamed ‘Life Drain Aura’ and particles color changed to red rather than green and life drain beam particles are now larger. Life Drain Aura now also deals more damage (up from 10% max health damage in all Leagues to 15-25% based on League ability scaling). The Mad Butcher’s speed while in Life Drain Aura now also scales more with League ability scaling, making it actually faster in master League and up, rather than slower (up from 80-100% speed to 80-160%).
    Turns out nobody understood the word "Osmosis", so we made it look and sound more dangerous. Crowd Control is now more effective in higher leagues.
  • Enemy Champions health scaling per wave decreased from 30% to 25% while health scaling cap wave increased from wave 10 to wave 15.
    Enemy champions could get really grindy to kill at mid-late waves (~8-10), especially if lacking a proper single target damage dealer, while waves 10+ sometimes got very easy to kill fast with high damage oriented teams. This change should mitigate this, while also making it slightly easier to complete 10 waves in all Leagues.
  • Damage over time effects no longer proc Vamp Strike.
    Bleed and Vamp was just too good. Sorry.
  • “Buzzer” Ingholm Power Shot [Q] active charge up reduced from 0.5 seconds to 0.25.
    Because it should stun the enemy, not the player
  • Quick Fix removed.
    Was made redundant a while back, nobody was buying them


Art



  • Replaced the missile model with a brand new "Sharksplosive"
  • Hover highlights now also highlight hovered units’ weapons.
  • Added bloom.
  • Major particle effects update, both new effects added (primarily for activated items) and changes to existing ones.
  • Color and lighting tweaks to several levels.


UI



  • Game font now supports Cyrillic letters.
  • Game chat now works in the end game screen.
    For gg’s, wp’s etc.
  • Updates to picture-in-picture and tutorial text messages.
  • Hovering a Gladiator’s portrait in the HUD now highlights that Gladiator and the cursor updates correctly when doing so, no longer always showing as ‘unable’.
  • Multiplayer’ renamed to ‘Play’ and ‘Host’ renamed to ‘New Game’, ‘Lone Wolf’ renamed to ‘Tutorial’ and now only includes the Tutorial level.
    It is still possible to play alone by reducing the player limit or setting a password for you Lone Wolves out there
  • League selection list now displays the enemy stun resistance increase for the Leagues.
    Stun resistance reduces the duration of stuns and other crowd control effects.
  • Added a ‘Reset save’ to game options for if progression issues with Path to Glory occurs or if you just want to go through it again.
  • Fixed various issues with the Scoreboards.
  • Path to Glory achievement descriptions are now colored based on their class affiliation.
    To make it clearer that each path is associated with each of the classes.
  • Standardized all instances for the ingame currency to “coin”.
  • Beasts name updates: “Wolf” renamed to “Wasteland Hound”, “Bear” renamed “Corrupted Bear” and “Big Boar” renamed “Alpha Boar”.
  • Numpad ‘Enter’ can now also be used as ‘Enter’ in the chat.
  • Hide UI (Ctrl + G) is now available during Free Flight camera (F10, toggle).
    For taking awesome screenshots or making crazy videos.

Sound



  • Updates and timing tweaks to various sounds.

Tech



  • Fixed various bugs and crashes.
  • Updates to how several transporter abilities and effects work, making things like True Horror more reliable and jumping enemies stunned or killed mid-air to follow their ongoing transporter through. Charge transporters are still interrupted by stuns.

Misc

With the upcoming release of Bloodsports.TV we need your help to test the game and make sure everything is ready for release. The Beta will take place during March (specific dates will be announced soon).
