    • [p]💭The recent shinobi nerf made the Grandmaster Ninja a little underpowered. This should bring it back in line.[/p]

    • [p]💭 The recent bug fixes to Necromancer and Prince of Darkness have made it a bit more efficient than it needs to be so we are increasing the costs to reflect its new effectiveness.[/p]

    • [p]⏱️ x4x Ninja: Bloon Sabotage duration 15s -> 10s (x5x unaffected at 30s)[/p]

    • [p]💭 With how easy it is to apply glue or acid to any bloon, Heat it up was providing too much damage in all situations.[/p]

    • [p]💭 Sentai Churchill outclasses regular Churchill on almost every round. This should even out the two heroes.[/p]

  • [p]💛 Fixed Rubber to Gold not giving cash when the bloon was destroyed by an Engineer trap.[/p]

New Features

  • [p]New Bloon Modifier: Phayze Bloons[/p]
    • [p]👁 Phayze bloons spawn with reality altering shields that protect them from damage. [/p]
    • [p]1️⃣ The shield has health equal to 1% of the bloons total health (minimum 1).[/p]
    • [p]⛔ Damage to the shield does NOT transfer to the bloon if the shield is destroyed. (E.g. Hitting a red phayze bloon with a 20 damage sniper shot will destroy the shield and leave the red bloon unharmed)[/p]
    • [p]🏃‍♂️ When the shield is destroyed, the bloon glitches forward 10% of the total track length. It is completely invulnerable while glitching. [/p]
    • [p]🎈 Once a shield is destroyed and the bloon glitches forward, it becomes a normal bloon. It can never regain the phayze shield.[/p]
    • [p]🔓 Phayze bloons unlock for sending at round 15. Adding phayze applies a 1.75x multiplier to the cost of the send.[/p]
    • [p]🌎 Phayze bloons appear in the natural rounds starting at round 21.[/p]
    • [p]🤵 Opponents in Hero Challenge will now send phayze bloons as part of their rushes.[/p]

    • [p]💰 5xx Inferno Ring: $45,500 -> $35,500[/p]
    • [p]💭 While the Tack Shooter is a popular and powerful early game tower, it’s top path tier 5 felt like it was lagging behind the other upgrades in terms of efficiency. We are reducing its cost to bring it in line with the other tier 5s.[/p]
  • [p]Monkey Ace[/p]
    • [p]💰 Base cost: $850 -> $750[/p]
    • [p]💰 Bomber ace: $1000 -> $1100[/p]
    • [p]💥 5xx sky shredder: moab missile damage 200 -> 250[/p]
    • [p]💥 5xx sky shredder: moab missile blast radius 12 -> 22[/p]
    • [p]💭 The changes we made in 4.8 to the Monkey Ace turned out to be too drastic, causing its playrate to plummet. We are lowering its base cost again and transferring that money to the bomber ace upgrade instead. Additionally, we are increasing the power of the Sky Shredder upgrade as this has long been the least popular of the Ace’s tier 5s.[/p]
  • [p]Dartling gunner [/p]
    • [p]💫 xx4 Bloon Area Denial System: knockback now affects MOABs & BFBs[/p]
    • [p]💫 xx5 Bloon Exclusion Zone: knockback now affects DDTs and ZOMGs[/p]
    • [p]💥 xx5 Bloon Exclusion Zone: projectiles can pop all bloon types.[/p]
    • [p]💭 The Dartling’s bottom path struggles to keep pace with the more powerful bloons in the later game. We are adding a knockback effect to its tier 4 and 5 to help it deal with these later rounds. In addition, we are allowing the bottom path tier 5 to hit lead so that it can be used to tackle DDTs.[/p]
  • [p]Benjamin[/p]
    • [p]🏦 Level 5: Bank hack 12% -> 10%[/p]
    • [p]🏦 Level 9: Bank hack 18% -> 15%[/p]
    • [p]💭 Benjamin’s bank hack was granting too much extra value to Banana Farms so we are lowering its effectiveness a small amount.[/p]

    • [p]💭 DJ Ben was proving too tricky to utilise which is hurting his playability. We are increasing his range to make it easier to gather monkeys around him to fuel his money making abilities.[/p]

    • [p]🚀 Level 20: Smuggler’s Run ship capacity $25,000 -> $27,000[/p]
    • [p]💭We are increasing the capacity of Star Captain’s ship to allow it to fit a single phayze BAD at level 20.[/p]

    • [p]🔪 Level 3: Sharp Sting of Fate Pierce (7 x main weapon pierce x number of projectiles) -> (8  x main weapon pierce x number of projectiles)[/p]

    • [p]💭 Ocean Obyn has not had any changes in quite a long time so he was due for a shake up. Increasing the pierce of his Living Coral ability will hopefully give him a new lease on life.[/p]
  • [p]Smudge Catt Ezili[/p]
    • [p]😼 Level 7: Scratching Post ability duration increased 10s -> 15s[/p]
    • [p]😼 Level 16 Scratching Post ability duration increased 20s -> 30s[/p]
    • [p]💭Smudge Catt Ezili is another hero who has been proving less popular of late. We are increasing the duration of her Scratching Post to help her stand out amongst the crowd.[/p]
  • [p]Agent Jericho[/p]
    • [p]🦆 Level 10: MOAB Decoy is now affected by the late game speed ramping that applies to real MOABs.[/p]
    • [p]💭MOAB Decoy was proving to be too decisive in late game battles. Allowing it to be affected by speed ramping means it spends less overall time on screen and thus reduces the amount of time it can serve as a distraction.[/p]

  • New Map: Splashdown
    - 🏊‍♂️ Dive into an all new, water focussed map.
    - 🏆 Splashdown will appear in ranked and clan games in White Wasteland and higher.
  • Advanced Bloon Lab Features
    - 👩‍🔬A new Advanced tab has been added to the Scientist Gwen’s Bloon lab for more niche and complex controls.
    - 🚦 The Round Stall Amount slider simulates how far the opponent’s natural bloons travel along the track before being popped so you can test strategies in stalling and anti-stalling scenarios.
    - 🤵The Opponent Hero panel allows you to simulate an opponent using Agent Jericho, Highwayman Jericho, and Star Captain Jericho. The opponent hero’s passive abilities (such as bloon adjustment) will be applied to your rounds and you can activate their abilities against yourself (where relevant).
    - 📽 The Rush Recording panel allows you to record your bloon sends and play them back against yourself, allowing repeated testing against the same rush or more complex rush layering.
    - 🚫In addition to the Advanced Tab controls, there is now an option in the Control tab to disable all monkeys when you fall below zero lives in order to see the exact state of your defence at the moment it failed.
  • New Text Emote Slots

  • Bloon Lab Speed Control
    - ⏩ The speed control in Scientist Gwen’s Bloon Lab has been moved off the central column and onto the main panel alongside the controls for removing monkeys, resetting cooldowns, etc.
    - 🚀 This is to prevent it conflicting with the UI from Star Captain Jericho’s Smuggler’s Run ability.
  • Tech Bot and New Abilities
    - 🤖 Abilities unlocked on a tower after it has been linked to a Tech Bot will not auto activate by default.
    - 🤵 This is to stop situations like Agent Jericho firing his MOAB Decoy the moment he hits level 10 because he was linked to a Tech Bot for Seize Assets.

Balance Changes



  • Boomerang Monkey
    - 👀 x4x Boomerang Monkey now gains camo detection during its Turbocharge ability.
    - 💭 While Boomerang Monkey is intended to primarily be an early game tower, it has felt a bit underpowered in the late game, particularly the x4x and x5x. We are adding this change from Battles 1 to give it a little boost.
  • Monkey Sub
    - 💥 xx4 Armor Piercing Darts damage (after split) 3 -> 2
    - 💥 xx4 Armor Piercing Darts MOAB damage (after split) 0 -> 1
    - 💰 xx4 Armor Piercing Darts: $2800 -> $3200.
    - 💭 The xx4 Sub is very strong at all points in the game. We are moving some of its damage to be MOAB exclusive and increasing its cost slightly to hinder its ability to defend by itself.
  • Dartling Gunner
    - 💥 x5x M.A.D. Rocket MOAB damage: 500 -> 450.
    - 💥 x5x M.A.D. Rocket Storm MOAB Damage: 12 -> 60.
    - 💭 This change from BTD6 should help the M.A.D. ability feel more impactful.
  • Banana Farm

    - 🍌 250 Monkey-Nomics: End of round bonus $550 -> $1000.
    - 💭 We are buffing the monkey bank top crosspath to make it a more tempting option when compared to the bottom crosspath and Quality Soil.
  • Beetienne
    - 🐝 Level 3: Defend The Hive damage boost +2 -> +0 (bug fix)
    - 🐝 Level 17: Defend The Hive damage boost +3 -> +2
    - 💭 Beetienne was mistakenly giving a damage buff in addition to the speed buff while Defend the Hive was active. This has now been removed which significantly lowers his ability to solo rushes using his ability.
  • Striker Jones
    - 💣 Level 4: 10% attack speed boost for Bomb Shooters and Mortar Monkeys now applies to Striker Jones as well.
    - 💣 Level 7: 25% blast radius increase for Mortar Monkeys now applies to Striker Jones as well.
    - 💣 Level 8: +15 range and +40% pierce boost for Bomb Shooters and Mortar Monkeys now applies to Striker Jones as well.
    - ⏳ Level 10: Striker Jones now gains 4x attack speed, 200 range, and +10 MOAB damage for 7 seconds as part of his Artillery Command ability. This is in addition to firing all Bomb and Mortar abilities for free.
    - 💣 Level 18: 15% attack speed boost for Bomb Shooters and Mortar Monkeys now applies to Striker Jones as well.
    - 💣 Level 20: 2x damage and pierce for Bomb Shooters and Mortar Monkeys during Artillery Command now applies to Striker Jones as well. Ability duration 10s -> 7s.
    - 💭 While heroes who have clear synergies with specific towers are generally a good thing, Striker Jones in particular has been over reliant on Bomb and Mortar which has made him an unpopular hero. We have changed several of his upgrades so that they no longer do nothing if Bomb/Mortar are not present and added a secondary effect to his Artillery Command so that, while he’s still better with his favourite towers, he is capable of functioning without them.
  • Biker Bones
    - 🎯 Level 3: Concussive Blast now targets the strongest bloon on screen, not the densest cluster. The ability icon and projectile graphics have also been updated to be more relevant.
    - 🚁 Level 4: 10% attack speed boost for Bomb Shooters and Mortar Monkeys now applies to Heli Pilots, Monkey Aces, and Biker Bones himself instead.
    - 📈 Level 5: The reduction to black bloons explosive resistance is replaced by a +10% range and pierce increase to Biker Bones.
    - 🔥 Level 7: The blast radius upgrade for Mortar Monkeys has been replaced by a flame trail weapon on all Monkey Aces and Heli Pilots. These monkeys will leave a trail of damaging fire wherever they move.
    - 🚁 Level 10: Double damage for Bomb Shooters and Mortar Monkeys now applies to Heli Pilots, Monkey Aces, and Biker Bones himself instead. The ability icon has also been updated to be more relevant.
    - 🚁 Level 18: 15% attack speed boost for Bomb Shooters and Mortar Monkeys now applies to Heli Pilots, Monkey Aces, and Biker Bones himself.
    - 📈 Level 19: The removal of black bloon explosive immunity is replaced by a 10% range and pierce increase to all towers within Biker Bones’ range (excluding himself).
    - 🚁 Level 20: Triple damage for Bomb Shooters and Mortar Monkeys now applies to Heli Pilots, Monkey Aces, and Biker Bones himself instead.
    - 💭 Similar to Striker Jones, Biker Bones relied too heavily on Bomb and Mortar to be useful and Striker was the better choice if you wanted to use those towers. With that in mind, we are reworking Bones so he leans much harder into the “Biker” part and synergises with vehicle towers, specifically Heli Pilot and Monkey Ace. As these towers do not specialise in explosive damage, there was no need for Biker to bypass explosive immunities so those upgrades have been replaced. In addition, Concussive Blast now targets the strongest bloon again. We were hoping the dense targeting would differentiate Biker from Striker but in practice it made the ability much less reliable and therefore worse.

    - 💭 MOAB Shove needed a small buff to prevent it being overwhelmed by the newly boosted MOAB speeds while the Support Chinook was due a price increase as it is currently the one of the best alternative income sources in the game.
  • Wizard Monkey
    - 👻 xx5 Prince of Darkness now consumes 55 souls per zombie MOAB rather than 200.
    - 💭 This is a bug fix rather than a deliberate balance change but the significant effect it will have on the Prince of Darkness makes it worth calling out here. Previously the POD was using large numbers of bloon souls to create very high pierce zombie MOABs which would cause the graveyard to drain very quickly. POD now uses fewer souls to create much lower pierce MOABs so that it can create more of them over a longer period.
  • Ninja Monkey
    - 💥 502 grandmaster ninja caltrop damage 25 -> 75
    - 💰 xx4 sticky bomb $4900 -> $4600
    - 💭 We are increasing the caltrop damage of the 502 Ninja to make it a more effective option for early fortified BAD defence. The Sticky Bomb is being made cheaper to allow it to be used in the early MOAB rounds as it's currently more expensive than the other options.
  • Druid
    - 💰 4xx ball lightning $4300 -> $4000
    - 💰 x4x jungles bounty $4200 -> $4000
    - 🌵 x5x spirit of the forest brambles within 50 range of the druid deal 20 moab damage -> 25 moab damage

    - 💭 These changes aim to spread the power of the Druid around a little rather than having the Avatar of Wrath as the one, standout upgrade.
  • Spike Factory

    - 💭 This price increase makes microing the Spike Storm ability more expensive while still keeping the overall power of the tower intact.
  • Quincy
    - 🎯 Level 1: Pierce 4 -> 5
    - 🏹 Level 3: Rapid shot ability duration 2s + 0.5s per level -> 3s + 0.5s per level
    - 🏹 Level 10: Storm of arrows deals x1 -> x2 damage to ceramic bloons
    - 💭 Quincy has been struggling to maintain his identity as an early game hero so we are increasing his effectiveness in that niche. His Storm of Arrows ability is not as good at cleaning up MOAB insides or handling tight ceramics as it should be so we are adding extra damage to make it better in those situations.
  • Cyber Quincy
    - 🎯 Level 1: Pierce 4 -> 5
    - 👀 Level 3: +200 range during Cyber Shot ability, +200 retargeting range for ricochets.
    - 🏹 Level 10: Cyberstorm now deals 25 damage per 0.05s (100% hit chance) for 1s.
    - 💥 Level 18: cyberstorm damage 35-> 40
    - 💥 Level 20: Cyberstorm moab damage x2 -> x3
    - 💭 We are changing up Cyber Quincy’s abilities somewhat to help distinguish him from Quincy. Cyberstorm’s shorter but more consistent damage output should make it effective at dealing with tight MOAB class rushes and the functionally infinite range of his Cyber Shot ability works well with Cyber Quincy’s innate ability to shoot through walls.
  • DJ Ben Jammin’
    - ⭐ Difficulty Rating 4 -> 5
    - 🐵 Level 1: DJ Ben now displays a buff icon to show how many other towers are in his range.
    - 🎈 Level 10: Beatdown can no longer be fired if there are no bloons on screen.
    - 💭 These are just minor quality of life changes to DJ. The change to Beatdown is to prevent Tech Bot from automatically firing the ability when there are no bloons to be affected by it.
  • Fusty the Snowman
    - 🌨 Level 8: x3x arctic wind Ice Monkey slows moabs to 40% -> 66% of their speed during Chilling Cheer.
    - ⚪ All ice monkeys are able to pop white bloons at level 5 -> level 9
    - 💭 Fusty’s ability to remove Ice Monkey’s weakness to white bloons was making part of his Chilling Cheer ability redundant before it had a chance to be relevant and was contributing to making Ice strategies too hard to rush. We are moving the global buff to higher in his upgrades so that the effect requires his ability to be active in the earlier game.
  • Bonnie
    - 🧨 Level 3: Mass Detonation blast 3 -> 2 damage (carries over to later levels, but level 19 remains the same)
    - 🧨 Level 3: Mass Detonation shards 8 -> 6 damage (carries over to later levels, but level 19 remains the same)
    - 💭 Bonnie’s Mass Detonation was providing a bit too much defensive capabilities for a money making hero.

Bug Fixes



  • 💵 Fixed cash sometimes displaying incorrectly on the pregame screen
  • 🧊 Fixed the xx3 Ice Monkey not being able to pop bloons with splash damage if the first bloon hit was immune to freezing.

    - 💭 By increasing the damage and reducing the attack rate of Scientist Gwedolin’s cocktail, we can reduce the amount of damage it does when combined with Glue Gunner without nerfing the attack as a whole.
  • Benjamin
    - 🍌 Level 1: Benjamin gets buffed by the 5xx Banana Central as if he was a Banana Research Facility
    - 💻 Level 3: Biohack affects +2 monkeys (6 total) and they do an extra +1 damage (2 total). (applies to all future levels).
    - 🏪 Level 5: Bank Hack now applies to Marketplace as well.
    - ⏩ Level 6: Replace Cyber Security with Boost Hack. Bloon Boost and Tower boosts have 20% lower cooldown.
    - ⏩ Level 14: Boost Hack gives 1 additional boost of each type.
    - 💭 Poor Benjamin has had some of his uniqueness stolen by Bonnie and Beetienne in recent updates leaving him without a solid niche. To help find him a new one, we are strengthening his synergy with Banana Farms and replacing his life gain upgrade with a brand new effect: Boost Hack.

    - 🎵 All upgrades have been reflavoured to be DJ themed, not hacking themed.

    - 🤑 Level 5: Bank Hack replaced with Side Hustle: All cash generated by monkeys other than Farm and Village increased by 6%.

    - 💭 DJ Ben has been given even more changes to distinguish him from the other heroes, including Ben. Every DJ needs a crowd so DJ Ben’s income is now based on the number of monkeys you can fit into his radius. He’s weaker than regular Ben by himself, but stronger if you can max out his crowd. We’ve also swapped his synergy with Farms for a synergy with alternative income monkeys like Sniper, Heli Pilot, and Engineer.

Battles 2 Update 4.4 is live now - Beetienne Hero, Sandbox mode, & more!



New Features



  • New Hero: Beetienne
    - 🐝 A busy little bee who uses a swarm of honeybees to sting the bloons.
    - 🍯 Starting at level 2, Beetienne gains the “Making Honey” targeting option. While Making Honey, Beetienne stops attacking and generates lives every 3 seconds.
    - 💓 These extra lives can take you above the starting value of 150. Given enough time, Beetienne can generate thousands of extra lives, allowing you to leak even MOAB class bloons without losing.
    - 💢 Beetienne’s level 3 ability, Defend the Hive, summons extra swarms and makes all of them more aggressive. He stops making honey and attacks while it’s active so it’s great for emergency defence.
    - 🐝 His level 10 ability, Auxiliary Hives, allows you to spend some of those extra lives to place additional, permanent hive towers, each with their own bee swarm.
  • Scientist Gwen’s Bloon Lab
    - 👩‍🔬 This single player sandbox mode is the perfect place to experiment with new strategies and combinations.
    - 🎛 Change your cash, income, and loadout at will from inside the game.
    - 🧪 Jump to any round and send any Bloon Send against yourself to test your defences.
    - 🧰 Make use of a host of other tools and stats to analyze your strategy.
    - 👑 Scientist Gwen’s Bloon Lab is available exclusively to Club Members.
  • “Loses To” popout
    - ℹ You can now tap on your opponent’s life total to see a popout showing which bloons will do enough damage to defeat them.
    - ❤ You can also tap on your own life total to see which bloons you can afford to leak without losing.
    - 🎈 The popout will show single, weakest bloon currently available to send that will defeat them in a single hit, plus how many of the next weakest bloon it will take to defeat them.]
    - 🌈 E.g. An opponent with 100 lives will show as losing to 1 Ceramic Bloon (104 lives) or 3 Rainbow Bloons (141 lives).

  • Bloon Sends

    - 💭 The very fast send speed of Tight Leads made them a powerful source of income which wasn’t their intended use. We are significantly reducing their income gain to reinforce the fact that they are intended to be used as an offensive rush. Tight Ceramic Bloons have been left behind by other tower and bloon send buffs so we are reducing their cost to make them a more efficient send.
  • Ports
    - 📦 The blue crate has been removed, making this area placeable immediately.
    - 🏗 Cost to remove crates $500 → $300
    - 💭 Ports is a difficult map with a fairly low play rate. We are removing the blue crate to allow a larger variety of starting towers and reducing the cost of removing the other crates.
  • Ice Monkey
    - ⏳ x4x Snowstorm: ability freeze and buff duration 6s → 8s
    - ⏳ x5x Absolute Zero: ability freeze and buff duration 10s → 12s
    - 💰 xx3 Cryo Canno: $1750 → $1300
    - 💥 xx4 Icicles: +3 → +6 MOAB damage
    - 💥 xx5 Icicle Impale: Icicles do 50 → 70 MOAB damage.

  • Dartling Gunner

  • Spike Factory

    - 💭 Spike Factory is getting a lot of use right now in several different popular strategies. Similar to how we buffed the Spiked Mines upgrade in 4.3, we are nerfing the bottom path to encourage different uses of the tower.
  • Engineer Monkey
    - 🤖 4xx Sentry Expert: Immediately spawns 6 sentries when the upgrade is first purchased.
    - 💭 The Engineer has been languishing at the bottom of the “most used towers” list for a while. This change makes the sentry expert more useful immediately since it no longer needs to wait to generate its special sentry towers, and also opens up some interesting micro opportunities.
  • Pat Fusty
    - 🏫 Level 1: Pat is considered a primary monkey by the Monkey Village, allowing him to receive buffs from Primary Training, Mentoring, and Expertise. Since Pat cannot benefit from free low tier upgrades, he levels up 40% and 80% faster when in range of the 4xx and 5xx Village respectively.
    - 📣 Level 3: Rallying Roar gives primary monkeys in range (including himself) +20% attack speed in addition to giving everything +1 damage.
    - 🤗 Level 10: Monkeys in range of pat get +3 damage while he’s squeezing a MOAB.
    - 🤗 Level 20: Monkeys in range of pat get +9 damage while he’s squeezing a MOAB.
    - 💭 Pat Fusty has been lacking synergy with any other towers for a while now and his popularity has suffered a lot because of it. Pat Fusty is a simple fellow so we thought synergy with Primary Monkeys was a good fit and gave him a weaker but more versatile version of Fusty the Snowman’s speed boost. We also made Pat an honorary Primary Monkey so that he can benefit from the Village’s top path upgrades, creating a new use for some fairly niche upgrades.
  • Fusty the Snowman
    - ⛄ Level 5: All Ice Monkeys can pop/freeze white bloons.
    - 🧊 Level 5: Fusty’s backhand creates 6 ice shards each time it hits a frozen bloon.
    - 🤗 Level 10: Bloons within 50 range of Fusty are slowed to 40% speed while he’s squeezing a MOAB.
    - 🤗 Level 20: Bloons are slowed to 20% speed while he’s squeezing a MOAB.
    - 💭 Despite having a much clearer strategy, Fusty the Snowman also suffers from very low play rates. Letting him remove the Ice Monkey’s main weakness makes the pairing much stronger in the early game.
  • Highwayman Jericho
    - ⌛ Level 3: Stand and Deliver initial cooldown 45s → 35s
    - 💭 A small buff to the initial cooldown of Highwayman Jericho’s ability allows him to start stealing from the opponent quicker and brings him more in line with the power level of the other Jericho variants.

Balance Changes



  • Dart Monkey
    - 🏹 xx3 Crossbow pierce: 6 -> 8
    - 🏀 xx4 Sharp Shooter: Bolts now ricochet once after the first hit.
    - 💥 xx5 Crossbow Master: Crit damage 50 -> 100
    - 💭 The crossbow is the least used of the Dart Monkey’s upgrade paths. The Juggernaut and Super Monkey Fan Club both have their niche with high pierce group popping and concentrated single target damage respectively. We are buffing the Crossbow Monkey to give it a place somewhere between the two with solid pierce and damage and some slight seeking to ensure it makes the most out of its pierce.
  • Monkey Sub
    - 💥 xx4 Armor Piercing Darts: 2 damage -> 3 damage
    - 💭 The bottom path sub is often neglected for the top path Reactor and the middle path First Strike upgrades. While this damage buff may look minor, it stacks quickly due to the high attack speed of the bottom path sub and the xx5 Sub Commander’s ability to double the damage of other subs. We hope this will make the bottom path sub a more appealing choice for DPS on maps where space isn’t an issue while preserving the middle path’s identity as elite MOAB stopping power.
  • Monkey Buccaneer
    - 💰 3xx Destroyer: $2700 -> $2200
    - ⏳ 140 Faster Shooting: Ability Cooldown 30s -> 20s.
    - 💥 xx2 Crows Nest: All attacks deal +2 damage to camo bloons, including attacks from the 4xx and 5xx planes.
    - 🚢 xx5 Trade Empire: Merchantmen ships generate +5% -> +10% income per round. Capped at 20 -> 10 Merchantmen.
    - 💭 The top path buccaneer does not currently see a lot of use, either as a crosspath or as a main upgrade, so we want to add some buffs to make it a more appealing option. The xx5 Trade Empire’s limit of 20 Merchantmen came from BTD6 and is very difficult to reach in the smaller maps of Battles 2. We are therefore increasing the buff while lowering the cap to make it easier to get the full value of the upgrade in a smaller space.
  • Mortar Monkey
    - 🎯 000 Mortar now includes Increased Accuracy from 001 as standard (spread 18 -> 8).
    - 🎯 xx1 Increased Accuracy replaced with Dynamic Targeting, which costs $400 and allows the Mortar to aim itself at the strongest bloon on screen or the area with the most densely packed bloons.
    - 💰 xx2 Burny Stuff $700 -> $500
    - 💭 The randomness of the Mortar has never been popular and the xx1 upgrade has often felt like a tax to remove RNG than an upgrade in its own right. The new Dynamic Targeting upgrade will hopefully give interesting crosspath options to the other upgrades, allowing the Mortar to easily focus fire on strong MOABs or maximise the impact of stunning by automatically aiming for the densest cluster of bloons. Manual targeting will likely still remain the most consistent option for effects like Signal Flare and Burny Stuff that just want to hit every bloon once.
  • Ninja Monkey
    - 💰 x5x Grand Saboteur: $25,000 -> $20,000
    - 🌸 x5x Grand Saboteur: All x3x and above Ninja Monkeys in range, including the Grand Saboteur itself, gain +10 range and +2 MOAB damage.
    - 💭 The Grand Saboteur is the weakest of the Ninja Monkey’s tier 5 upgrades. We are bringing over a popular balance change from BTD6 in order to improve its usage, although we are limiting it to only Ninjas in the Grand Saboteur’s range rather than a map wide buff to limit its interaction with other, more powerful combos.
  • Spike Factory
    - 💰 5xx Super Mines: $110,000 -> $90,000
    - 💣 5xx Super Mines: Explosion Pierce 60 -> 80
    - 💭 Super Mines is by far the least used of Spike Factory’s tier 5 upgrades, overshadowed by Carpet of Spikes and Permaspike. We are making it more affordable while also buffing its pierce to make it more capable of dealing with its main weakness of tight ZOMGs.
  • Biker Bones
    - 💣 Level 3: Concussive shot radius 27 -> 40
    - 💣 Level 3: Concussive shot pierce 48 -> 72
    - 🎯 Level 3: Concussive shot now aims at densest area, not strongest bloon.
    - 💭 The dense bloon targeting we added for Mortar in this update felt like it would be a good fit for Biker Bones as well, allowing him to affect more bloons with the stun and fire effects of his ability and further distinguish him from Striker Jones.
  • Etienne
    - ⌛ Level 3: Drone Swarm Ability cooldown 45s -> 60s
    - ⌛ Level 16: Drone Swarm Ability cooldown 40s -> 45s
    - 💭 Etienne’s ability is extremely effective at clearing up early game rushes. We are increasing the cooldown to ensure that Etienne players cannot rely on it entirely and still need to spend on their early game defence.

  • 🦹‍♀️ Fixed issue where Adora could appear visually as Dark Adora. Dark Adora does not feature in Battles 2.
  • 👨‍🌾 Fixed issue where collectables picked up by the Banana Farmer would leave their visual on screen.
  • 🦸‍♂️ Fixed issue where selling a x4x or x5x Dart Monkey while the SMFC/PMFC ability was active would cause the affected monkeys to visually revert to Dart Monkeys while still attacking like Supermonkeys. The ability now persists both visually and mechanically after the sale.

  • Arena League Trophies
    - 🏆 The penalty for losing a game in the Hall of Masters has been increased from -2 trophies to -3 trophies.
    - 🏆 The penalty for losing a game in ZOMG Superdome has been increased from -2 trophies to -3 trophies.
    - 📅 This will take effect on Friday 20th September with the start of new the Arena League.
    - 💭 The feedback from the Arena Leagues survey showed that many players wanted Hall of Masters to be a more exclusive arena with a much higher skill threshold. We are increasing the trophy penalty in ZOMG and HoM so that a 50% win rate (excluding streak bonuses) would be the minimum to avoid auto demotion. We want to avoid increasing the penalty to 4 or more trophies as it would significantly reduce the number of players in the Hall of Masters and make it much harder to find a match. We’re monitoring the other arenas and may make further adjustments in the future.
