Bombardier Out Now!

Hey Everyone,

The last year since we put Bombardier on Early Access has been a journey to say the least, originally we planned for Bombardier to be released much sooner but due to many many life changing events such as having twins everything got put on hold unfortunately.

However we have been tinkering away during the nights to get Bombardier out of Early Access and pushing it forwards with a fair few updates and changes which we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.
Scroll to the bottom for a TLDR on all the changes we have made to the game that you can expect to see.



  • New Character - Frank
    A side effect from developing new bombs has caused Frank to become undead he is harmless enough if a little bit clingy
  • New Character - I-Bot
    Working on all this AI caused one of the bots to come to life

  • New Character - Reaper
    Probably here to fix Frank who knows what the reaper has in store for the characters of Bombardier



New Map - Haunted Graveyard

A new map with its own hidden dangers. Watch were you fire a bomb you may not always like what pops out the ground

New Bomb - Lazer Bomb
Simple drop this puppy down on the ground then get out of the way as it fires a lazer in 4 directions (North, South, East and West) and watch the destruction unfold.


AI
For those who want to play on their own and maybe get in a little practice we have implemented some basic AI to bring the chaos for those times you don't have a bunch of friends at your side! To have AI join the game simply press Y on the character select screen as many times as you want AI characters in your match and Hold Y to remove them.

The Reaper is here!

Hey Everyone,

As always we have been busy working away behind the scenes this time with a new character "The Reaper" he is a small guy who is cute spooky ready to tear up the arena, you will be able to play him right away as part of the latest build so get ready to scare away the competition.



Along side this new addition to the roster we have added a new special bomb aptly named the "LAZER BOMB" which you guessed it fires out lasers in all 4 cardinal directions aka North, East, South and west along the WHOLE arena being stopped only by solid pillars or roofs, crates are not strong enough!

We hope that you have just as much fun playing with the new additions as we had while making it!

Bombardier Changes V 0.1.1

Hello Bombardiers!

It's been an exciting week and we're glad to have you onboard during Bombardier's journey to a full release.

In an earlier update we have shared the Roadmap for this journey, to give ideas or feedback you can reach either one of us on Discord, right here or on any Social Media!

As for the changes made this week!

Remote Play Together



Bombardier is now playable with "Remote Play Together". Yep, that's right! Just launch the game and navigate to the Steam Overlay to invite your friends! The best part? They don't even need to own the game. Remote Play Together will stream the game from the Host's pc straight to your friends and their input will be sent through! It is required to have an internet connection!

Bombs Loadout





For this first update after the launch we really wanted to bring you some more flexibility in playing how you want to play! So this week we are really proud to announce the the Loadout is now officially in! This means that your favourite special bombs can now be played in every level. We still have the level-templates of the bombs we think work well, but the flexibility is all yours! To celebrate this new change we have upped the amount of bombs and special bombs in the Factory level for even more hectic fun!



Small Fixes



- Fixed an issue where Keyboard user couldn't use the Escape key to go to main menu.
- Fixed an issue where the terrain could appear glitchy on the Pittstop level.

Next week we will be adding even more explosive fun!

Bombardier Early Access - Road Map

Hey Everyone,

We are busy here at Squid Inc working away on Bombardier, after the live stream on Saturday here is a short summed up version of the things we plan to bring to Bombardier before the final release in October.



We also want to mention that we are totally open to ideas from the community for anything related to Bombardier whether it be new map ideas, new bombs or even game modes, so if you have an idea of something that would be cool or fun to see in the game then let us know and we can look at adding it to the game and making Bombardier even better.

Early Access Release - 22.07.22

With our new level The Factory ready to be played and put to the test we have our Early Access announcement. The decision to head into Early Access now comes from the fact we have 4 levels ready to be played and from these 4 everyone who plays the game will get a good idea of what sort of game Bombardier is. What we are hoping to get from this is to hear out our players giving you the player a voice about where we go next with the game what levels you would like to see or even ideas for special bombs.

Our newest level The Factory is a semi tight knit arena with thin gang ways round the outer edge and conveyor belts to push and pull you in the middle oh and the constant obstacles being flung at your opponents to help.
We have made this one without a special bomb to begin with as we want to see how this plays out but we do have one in mind or the idea of being able to enable and disable special bombs on all of the levels.



In the meantime we have also added a new character to the selection list for everyone to check out and updated our character select screen doing away with the still images and now putting the actual characters into the poster this allows us all to see the character in the colour that you have chosen a much better way of displaying the characters and so cool!



Alongside all of this we also have been doing the usual bug fixing getting things as tight as they can be ready for everyone to really start tearing up the maps

Bombardier Progress Report LIVE DEMO!

Here we have it our first demo trailer for Bombardier in the demo you can play on both Mayan Mishap and Lil'Wick and blow away the competition, it has been a massive learning process going through all of this and to finally have it available to everyone even with just these two levels has been a massive milestone for us both.

  • we are currently adding in AI for people who either want to play on their own or have 2 - 3 people around but want to have the best experience of playing with 4
  • Adding more, MORE so we want to add in more levels for us to play we currently have a tightly spaced arena map in the works and discussing or playing around with the idea of either taking us out to sea, duking it out in a boxing ring or getting the ghoulies in a haunted mansion.
  • MORE characters with each level we want to add a specific character aimed for that level visually so with new maps comes new skins!
  • EVEN MORE! EXPLOSIVES we want to add even more special bombs to the game each map currently has its dedicated and we want to keep up that theme for now so as previously mentioned more maps means more special bombs! and that cant be a bad thing. The special bombs will tend to be loosely themed around the level that we are building

Reworking the Mayan Mishap level

Hey Bombardiers!

This time we are looking at our current on-going work into Mayan Mishap this is all still a work in progress if we find anything we don't find fun while playing and testing then it will most likely change but for the time being we have started to settle on this design!


So what has changed! well we have made the arena bigger for a start creating more play area, along with the bigger area we decided to add some tiles that can not be destroyed, safe edges that will allow players to retreat to if there is no where else to go and added bomb spawn locations to each of the areas.

Not only that we have gone in and added an environmental hazard something we want to bring to all the maps we make in the form of rolling boulders these will fall into the arena from off screen and then when landed will roll to the other side of the map forcing players to run between the one gap and creating potential choke points or catch the unaware and push them off the edge.



Outside of Mayan Mishap we have reworked UI pieces on the players so you can identify which special bomb you are holding and added in a new Feedback form this is so we can get that valuable and super important feedback from everyone who plays our game, we really want to get that feedback and steer the game in the direction the community wants



With this bigger map we want to add its own special bomb which add some extra oommphh to a players arsenal.

Before we get to SteamFest and have people playing these maps there are still a few questions for the map that we want answered such as:

  1. Do we want the boulders to smash tiles as they go past
  2. How many tiles should break when hit by a bomb
  3. Turn up the heat and get even more FX in there

Gameplay teaser trailer ready for Steamfest!!

Hey Bombardiers!

We finally did it! we got 4 people together to play the game and actually recorded some useable footage! its a miracle. With this new found footage comes a new gameplay trailer we put together which shows off the multiplayer aspect of the game.

It has been loads of fun pushing the game further and further since the last piece of news we have been working away on new skins one of which is seen in the trailer (The Sheriff) another soon to be shown and LOADS of playtesting to get things as smooth as possible ːsteamhappyː
