The Void awaits...

Greetings again filthy boneraisers...

I've been beavering away raising something else of late, namely a new game called Voids Vigil! It's an auto-battling bullet-heaven like Boneraiser Minions so you might enjoy fondling it for a bit.

You won't be raising bones though instead robotical cogs which you can use to buy auto-attacking weapons, active abilities, drones, and eventually upgrade them into mega variants. It's more action orientated than Boneraiser and doesn't have the same meaty meta grind as I wanted something that's a bit more fast and fun to play right from the start. So if you're fan of Boneraiser's faster-paced Necrotic Skirmishes game mode (or just Brotato) you might just like it.

I also added a Bullet Heaven bundle so if you have Boneraiser already you'll get Void a little cheaper.

Patch v36.14

//misc changes
- The game engine has been updated to the latest version of GameMaker (v2024.8.1).
- On the starting Greetings menu where you choose a control scheme you can now press the Escape key to bypass it.
- Elven Warfinder boss: His basic arrows have been slightly slowed down (especially the Poison arrows).

//bug fixes
- When deleting your Meta Progression via the Setting's Delete Save menu it wasn't deleting some save data (Creative Plaything, Memory Skull, Saved Run, Magic Mirror).
- Contraptions: If you were running past an interactable contraption and pressed the Dash button then the contraption would trigger if the Dash was on a cool down.
- High Wizard boss: Getting killed by his normal fireball attack would say you were killed by King Gigald on the game over screen.
- Hub - Minion Boneways: The Giantous was labeled as Sinner.

Patch v36.13

//misc changes
- The music album has been removed from the game folder (since it's available as DLC).
- Visibility Settings - Vignette: When set to Off the screen effect during Curses is now reduced.
- Button Tips - Keyboard: Changed the icon for the Space key (so it looks more like a Space key).
- Hub: When playing as a random class you now visually swap class every other second when inside the Hub (as a reminder you're playing as a random class).
- Traveller Event - Curse Wracked: It will now say what the currently selected Curse will do.
- Traveller Event - Master Baiter: They can now also sell: Ratty Orbica, Zombie, Ghost Watcher, Ghost Summoner, Lantern Handler, Candle Ghost, Bestial Boy, Werewolf. They now have a very small chance of selling a Sumptuous Slime. They can no longer sell Ogres.
- Traveller Event - Hired Swole: They can now also sell: Ogre, Boulder Ogre, Cannibal. They now have a small chance of selling Paladins.

//bug fixes
- There was a chance the stage music could cut out if played for a while.
- Status Screen: When using Full Mouse Support moving the mouse wheel could cause a crash if you had a lot of minions/relics.
- Traveller Event: when using Full Mouse Support moving the mouse wheel could cause a crash.
- Boneraise Screen: when using Full Mouse Support moving the mouse wheel could use a Seal/Banish.
- Boneraise Lore: When using Full Mouse Support the Dabber Dash, Majikoumal Parchment, and Journal Gnoblin, button tips were showing the keyboard buttons (instead of mouse buttons).
- Settings - Visibility - Full Frontal Meanies: Some enemy attacks were ignoring this setting.
- Fetid/Ginormous Pumpkin contraptions: If they reached the end of their regrowth but you were standing on them then their sprite would flash.
- Eggy Bro minion: If it hatched into a Tamed Beast there was a chance it wouldn't show its name/icon in the Status Screen.
- Barrow Bonebolster spell: It could choose a minion that could not be upgraded due to its next level being Banished.

Patch v36.12

//misc changes
- The game engine has been updated to the latest version of GameMaker (v2024.6.2).
- MELDIN TIME achievement: This can now be done using the Meldum Afflicted class.
- Castle Conquest - stage 11: Reduced the amount of Wizardly Seers that spawn. The Wizarding Councilor's fast fireballs are now slower.
- Giantous Gladiator minion: Increased his sight range, move speed, attack speed, and attack damage.
- Master Baiter traveller event: He can now offer Bulok Riders and Blossom Dryads.
- Meaty Wallop / Flesh Cube relics: Their push-back effect now works against the Royal Guard and Custodianly Champion enemies.
- Desecrated Rage / Acuity / Mysticism relics: These now also slightly increase the chance of being offered an appropriate Bro minion.

//bug fixes
- Playing the game without the Steam Launcher running would eventually cause a crash.
- Vampire Escapade achievement: This wasn't triggering at the correct time if you had a Creamy Trifle relic.
- Castle Conquest: Loading a previous run that had saved just after beating the Queen would cause a crash.
- When starting a run there was a rare chance of a "variable index [-4] out of range" crash.
- Impling Trapper minion: There was a rare chance their Bow traps could cause a crash.
- Ghost Watcher/Summoner enemy: There was a chance of them causing a softlock if they summon ghosts offscreen.
- There was a chance minion's Damage Per Second stat would show as inf/s.
- Settings - Visibility - Full Frontal Meanies: Some enemy attacks were ignoring this setting.
- Hub - Memory Skull: When viewing a saved death stats the Thy Legion title could be wrong if you switched classes.
- Creative Plaything: The Psycho Possessed's class switching meta would sometimes not trigger correctly.
- Some pickups wouldn't be sucked to you if they were partially outside the level.
- Psycho Possessed class: When switching to the Sorcerer Hollow class his Bookshelf Familiar could spawn in a wall.
- Benevolent Augur minion: They could cast Haste on you at Level 1/2.
- Giantous Gianraiser minion: Their Behemoth Miner summons were ignoring the Ghostly Minions visibility setting.
- Spirit Whispers relic: If you had multiple Soul Holder contraptions then a Hero Soul pickup could fill 2 Holders.
- Barrow Bonebolster spell: When leveling up a minion it was ignoring minion Banishments.
- Regrowth Returnal spell: When cast during a boss fight it wasn't immediately recharging contraptions.
- High Wizard boss: Getting killed by his normal fireball attack would say you were killed by King Gigald on the game over screen.
- King Gigald: During his explosive balls attack there was a rare chance of his balls not exploding unless you touched them.

Free Soundtrack Is Back

Filthy ones...

I was recently made aware that Steam removed their Media Player in the last UI Update replacing it with a Soundtrack Player. Nice thing about the old Media Player is it would automatically scan your installed game folders for any soundtrack albums and add them for you to play. This was how you would listen to the Boneraiser soundtrack that came with the game, but unfortunately the new Soundtrack Player can't do this so there was no longer a way to play the album natively in Steam... until now!

A free Soundtrack DLC has been added to the Boneraiser store page which you can activate and will be added to your Soundtrack Player. Just something for those times you fancy the feel of Boneraising but can't be bothered to boot up the game to enjoy those catchy chiptunes. Enjoy! :]

- Tamed Candle Ghost minion: Their contact damage and flame attack now un-Bless enemies.
- Tamed Supermassive Slime minion: They now won't un-Bless enemies.
- Tamed Ratty Orbica: Their Attack Speed has been increased by 25%.
- Tamed Blossom Dryad: Their sprouted gems now won't Poison you.
- Tamed Elden Tree: They now grow Heart Pickups.

- Dark Metaman class: Their Hero Souls meta could reset if you had upgraded them during the Early Access days.
- The Beastwhisperer class: Some of their minion colours weren't correct.
- Majick Doppelganger minion: If a level 1 Doppelganger cast the 'House of Wax/Beast' spell then the transformed effect could last a long time.
- Tamed Dryad: When boneraised with 2 Boning Totem contraptions it would raise more Dryads instead of a Blossom Dryad.
- Tamed Candle Ghost minion: Damage inflicted by their flame attacks wasn't being added to the minion's Damage stat.
- Tamed Elden Tree minion: Their AI wasn't targeting enemies.
- Lexicanium Archive contraption: It could start with the 'Occult Pact' spell.

- A new Visibility setting has been added called Ghostly Spells which adjusts the opacity of spell effects.
- The "translation_reference.csv" file has been updated (added: MnSet_Vis_Opt22, MnSet_Vis_Tip22).

//bug fixes
- The 'Palatial Crypt Fashioneer' achievement wasn't triggering.
- Castle Conquest game mode: The Stage Complete screen wouldn't show your stage score during the first stage of New Game Plus.
- Barrow Diggers minion: Their extra digging cool down based on how many Diggers there are was treating the different types separately (eg magically summoned Diggers).
- Behemoth Miners minion: Their extra digging cool down based on how many Miners there are was treating the different types separately (eg magically summoned Miners).
- Deamonic Coiler minion: Their lightning attack was playing a sound effect and wasn't conforming with the Ghostly Minions visibility setting.
- Waxen Custodian minion: Their lightning attack was playing a sound effect.
- Big Pumpkinious Bro minion: Their exploding pieces were playing a sound effect.
- Noblemen Lure spell: Casting this during a Boss fight wasn't working correctly and could cause a crash in the Forbidden Elevator map.

- Hub - Memory Skull: The menu will now say if the saved run is in a New Game Plus.
- Behemoth Miner minion: They now have a slight extra cool down to their digging based on how many other Miners there are (so they work the same as Barrow Diggers).
- Majick Doppelganger minion: They now can't cast the Contraptor Spirit, Sacrificeous Brozillous, and Barrow Bonebolster spells.
- Summonous Wyrmous spell: The summoned Wyrm now uses the Ghostly Minions visibility setting to determine its transparency.

- Forbidden Elevator map: Falling Trumpeteers would revert to a Flagbearer sprite upon landing.
- Big Chestibooty Bro minion: During their attack animation they could move in an odd manner if the enemy was very close.
- Big Chupacabradabro minion: During their attack animation they could move in an odd manner if the enemy was very close.
- Sealmentus Staff: If you used the staff to Seal an item then re-rolled the items then the item would still show the Staff icon.
- Regrowth Returnal spell: When cast at higher levels it could recharge the same contraption multiple times.
- Poisonous Seed spell: It could spawn the gems very clumped together if you were near terrain.

- Vampire Survivor class: The Batty Chums meta has been repurposed and now gives 1-3 Bellow Batty minions when collecting a Hero Soul (the old Batty Chums effect has been combined with Batty Madness).
- Sprout Brotatoes class: The Brotraption Waterer meta now also boosts Pumpkin contraption recharge rates by a further +150%
- Benevolent Augur minion: At level 3 they now have a 20% chance of casting Haste on YOU for a short time.
- Mega Meldsumassous minion: He now counts as a Range minion.
- Magma Gargantuan minion: He now counts as a Melee minion.
- The "translation_reference.csv" file has been updated (added: Min_Augur_DescLv3, MtCl_Bro_Trap_Desc2, MtCl_Vampire_BatChum_*, removed: MtCl_Vampire_BatHurt_*).

//bug fixes
- Status Screen: Viewing minions on their second page could cause a crash.
- Ginormous Pumpkin contraption: It wasn't showing a recharge animation.
- Wallop Hammerer minion: Its shockwave wasn't benefitting from the Ethereal Rage relic.
