Boogeyman

1.1.8

The last update before 1.2

• Teddy bear formed a band. (Main menu 'Easter Egg')
• Teddy bear secrets.
• Tutorial text under bed not going away bug fixed.

Trading Cards Released!

Steam trading cards have been approved and will drop when playing the game.

Every 2 or 3 nights played will result in a card drop.
Gotta collect'em all and make them monkey badges!

1.1.7

• Battery meter now flashes when you pick up a battery.
• Oculus rift configuration options menu.
• Oculus rift battery meter now shows up in game.
• Fixed quitting to main menu minimising game.
• Fixed Headphone splash displaying on quitting to main menu.

1.1.6

• Flashlight improvements (looks more like a flashlight)

• Tutorial intro improved & fixed (accidentally turned off in 1.1.5)

• Battery mechanic adjusted (each time you fail to find a battery, your chance increases for the next time)

• Steam Trading Cards (They’re still under review, hopefully they’ll be available soon)

• Steam Cloud (I can confirm Steamcloud retains your save file after updates.)

Steam Cloud + Save files

Save games were often deleted or wiped during updates.
Steam Cloud is now all up and running for the game, which should save your progress to the cloud from now on. So updates should now leave your save game intact.

Note for mobile / capped broadband:
Save games are less than 1-2kb. So don't worry about internet broadband usage if you're capped at a certain limit. Saving your game 1000 times would equal only 1-2mb in internet usage.

1.1.5

Epic just released their latest and greatest update to the Unreal Engine 4 (4.10). It fixes a lot of issues with the Oculus Rift, and is far more optimised. The engine in general has also been updated with hundreds of improvements, fixes, optimisations, among other useful things. The update was too big to ignore. The update however did break a lot of stuff in game… as is usually the case.

I spent the last couple of days fixing everything and making sure it all works. I’m now just gluing my hair back onto my head, and I’ll be back working on the actual game again.

1.1.4

Yeap another update within the same day. I spent the entire day fixing the issues with looking under the bed.

• No longer will you retract away from the Boogeyman when you let go of the mouse button, whilst looking under the bed. You will remain there to watch it in full jump-scare High ‘Death-inition’.

• Fixed the bug where simply clicking the right mouse button could instantly kill you. You now have to actually look fully under the bed in order for the Boogeyman to get you. No more pesky annoying accidental mouse click deaths.

1.1.3

• World floor outside. (no longer living on the edge of the universe)
• Having to click to enable control bug fixed.
• Vent bug fixed. (Hissing too much)
• Boogeyman not showing up after 5.20 fixed.

Update 1.1.2

• Resolution options in video settings.
• Nightlight eyes glow.
• Boogeyman eyes glow.
• Night 2 audio bug fixed.
• Toned down tape static noise.

1.1 StoryTime

• Story element.
• Plane, ball, telephone distraction.
• Clothes in the closet. (Boogeyman loves dress up)
• A few more nick knacks on the shelf.
• Looking under the bed when you can see the Boogeyman, or recently scared him away, will no longer result in death within 2 seconds. However there is now a smaller chance of finding a battery.
• Oculus Rift Support.
• Lots of balancing and tweaking.
• Squashed 90% of bugs.
• Optimisation. (Halved the size of the game, without any quality or performance loss)
