Following the success of our beta update with Jody, we'd like to keep involving you in the game's development. Therefore, we will now do updates every three weeks but on the second week, the content will be available on the beta branch for you to try out and give us feedback on.
In this beta update, we added a new selection of objects that can transform your experience. These items are not your typical weapons, but rather unique effects that can modify the way you shoot and deal damage. These items can make your shooting more fun, challenging, or unpredictable, depending on your preference. These items are:
Fan of Knives: When you stand still, for every 2 shots, you charge up 1 knife (up to a maximum of 15). When you move, you release all knives aiming at as many enemies.
Sharing is caring: Instead of aiming at the closest enemy, you alternate between the 5 closest enemies. Your projectiles are 50% slower but your attack speed is increased by 50%.
Fickle Bullets: Your projectiles have a random size and damage boost from -50% to +100%.
Swift Bullets: Your projectiles move between 30% and 70% faster.

How to join the public beta:

Greetings, Outlaws!
We are excited to share that Jody is now ready to join your journey into the wild west in Bounty of One. It took some time to get it right as she brings a totally new playstyle into the game as it's the complete opposite of our "shooting while standing still" core mechanic.
Thank you for taking the time to test her out and helping us settle on her weapon’s passive (just don't tell the Undertaker 😉). We hope everyone enjoys playing with Jody as much as we do!
Also got some new items, achievements, and more for you to explore so load your guns & saddle up as we get into UPDATE 0.23.
Jody’s Story:
Jody, like many young dwarfs of her time, was thrust into the midst of the chaotic and senseless conflict known as the Dwarven Wars. Amidst the horrors and bloodshed, she earned the moniker "Red Scorpion" for her ruthlessness on the battlefield and her striking red braid. When the war finally came to an end, Jody made a solemn vow never to wield a weapon again and fully dedicated herself to medicine.
Determined to leave the path of violence behind, Jody settled in the tranquil town of Greenhill. There, she established a humble doctor's office, using her newfound skills to heal both the townsfolk and the scars of her own past. Within the tranquility of Greenhill, Jody found serenity and even developed a quiet infatuation with the mustachioed, law-abiding sheriff. Unfortunately, everything changed when the malevolent Undertaker seized control of the town and seemingly eliminated the sheriff. Fueled by a thirst for justice and a desire to reclaim the serenity she had fought so hard to attain, Jody took up arms once more as the Red Scorpion. Ever since, she has led the resistance in a relentless battle against the Undertaker's oppressive rule, fighting not for glory, but for the restoration of peace and the salvation of her cherished town.
We have also added some goodies that you will enjoy. We added 3 new achievements and a new item to be discovered in the game Tumbleweed.

Dancing Daggers - Starting weapon for Jody : While stationary, each shot stacks 3 knives but attack speed is reduced by 40%. When you move, you unleash your stacked knives with +40% attack speed.
Tumbleweed: For each bounce you have, summon a tumbleweed that bounces off the screen’s edges. It deals your current damage to enemies it hits. Gain 1 bounce.

Public Beta Update - New Character : Jody
Hello fellow outlaws!
We have some good news and some bad news for you today. The good news is that a new character is joining the cast of Bounty of One. The bad news is that we feel like its weapon's concept is not quite there yet. Indeed, introducing this new character to Bounty of One has brought an interesting challenge: designing a weapon concept that breaks our core mechanic of shooting while standing still. This character will have the ability to shoot while on the move, adding a dynamic twist to the gameplay.
We've been iterating on the weapon concept and invite you to try it out on the public beta branch. Your feedback will help us refine and settle on the best version for the official update. Join us in shaping the future of Bounty of One!

Major Update Version 0.22: Simple Tom!
May update? Oh my, it looks like we’re a little late on this one. But better late than never, right? We’ve been hard at work over here, and we have so much to share! So without further delay, let’s get to it!
An interesting new update arrived today! Simple Tom is now ready to challenge you, as you may have seen on our Discord, thanks to (HairyLoco) for guessing the adjective linked to his name. Let us welcome Tom as the newest sheriff in town, but he does not come alone. Let's also welcome his minions, the Armarauders!

Let's learn more about those interesting individuals!
In the vast desert expanse surrounding Green Hill, a notorious gang known as the "Armarauders" roams. This gang operates under a peculiar hierarchy based on an unusual measure of skill: the ability to roll the longest distance without succumbing to dizziness. Strangely enough, it is often the least intelligent members who rise to the top of this hierarchy.
Approaching the Armarauders requires caution, for their lack of intelligence does not mean you should take them lightly. Their simplicity and straightforwardness make them remarkably resilient to magic and the Undertaker might have been taken aback when he tried to control them by force if it weren’t for an incredible twist of fate. Indeed, the Undertaker managed to seize control of the gang by besting their leader in a decisive "roll-off" ritual. It was discovered, according to the species' rare scripture, that rolling is defined by “curling up” and “moving” and the stratagem employed by the Undertaker to curl up onto his running horse was therefore deemed valid by the elders of the gang, granting the Undertaker an unexpected victory.
Beware the Armarauders and their unique ways, for their unorthodox nature and unyielding spirit make them a formidable force in the desert.
And some more on the incredibly simple Tom:
Within the ranks of the Armarauders stands a formidable figure known as Tom. Tom has dedicated his life to mastering the art of rolling, honing his skills to near perfection and developing a remarkable resistance to dizziness and head traumas. He has become a true expert in the craft, earning the respect of his gang members.
However, Tom's reign as the leader of the Armarauders came to an unexpected end when the Undertaker arrived and challenged him to a roll-off. Due to technicalities, the latter was indeed able to outmatch the rolling expert.
Now under the Undertaker’s order, Tom was given an important role within the underworld of Greenhill, he was given the role of keeping would-be meddlers out of the valley’s borders and proudly harbors the nickname that his boss lovely bestowed upon him: “Simple Tom”

It has been two weeks already. Time for the new update. Unfortunately, we can't promise you a big one since we were on holidays last week, but we can't just leave you with nothing. As a lot of you requested, we have added the possibility to cancel your choices when you're playing with a friend. We have started an FX overhaul as well; you should see more of it in the upcoming weeks. In order to support our players as best as possible, we also added a highly requested language in the game: Simplified Chinese is now available.
As per usual, we got rid of bugs that arose in the last update as well as other older ones and balanced a few things.

Multiplayer: you can now cancel your upgrade or object choice. Pushing the confirm button or trying to move to another upgrade/object after selecting one (and before all other players have made their choice) will do so.
