- Side Special now uses ammo (3 icicles) that get recharged after 10 seconds. Deals 5 damage & small knockback when no ammo.

General changes


  • The Fire Temple stage from The Trials is now selectable
  • Tribalstack Tropics is now available in Competitive Mode with the side platforms removed.
  • Fixed water not being visible in some stages on low quality settings


The Drifter:


  • Side Special & Air Side Special now have 2 parts, a short buildup and a slide.
  • Side Special slide range increased
  • Side Special slide knockback increased if you have rage
  • Air Side Special slide knockback increased
  • Down Special & Air Down Special are now cancellable 5 frames earlier
  • Sprint attack is now available sooner after you start sprinting (about 10 frames)


Dead Cells:


  • Up Special & Air Up Special now have a landing animation if you teleport into the ground
  • Air Down Special (Firebrands) projectile's fall speed reduced
  • Air Down Special fire duration reduced and can now only hit once

Wielding a vast array of weapons and gear voted on by YOU, THE COMMUNITY, get ready to stab, slash, whip, shield, hammer and set fire to your opponents!

Neutral Special: Marksman's Bow

“Slow, but devastating at long range.”

Take aim at opponents from afar to keep them on their toes and snipe offstage opponents to close out stocks!

Side Special: Wrenching Whip

Crack your whip forward dealing weak damage, but space the attack to hit with the tip of the whip to toss enemies directly at you for a followup!

Down Special: Frontline Shield

Holding this attack will consume rage to block incoming attacks! Time it perfectly to parry, staggering opponents and reflecting projectiles!

Down Air Special: Firebrands

Toss down a fiery projectile that temporarily blankets the ground in flames that will ignite opponents, dealing damage over time.

New Stage: Prisoner's Quarters



The Beheaded comes with its own stage, the iconic ‘Prisoner’s Quarters’, their favorite respawn point. A pair of teleporters on each side make the battles both strategic and even more frantic.

This new stage features the original score ‘Prisoner’s Awakening’ by the talented Motion Twin composer, Yoann Laulan.

General gameplay changes



  • A visual effect has been added to many high-impact attacks like Charge Attacks when they connect on an opponent to give them a little extra OOMPH.
  • Players launched at shallow angles will now bounce and skip across the stage while in hitstun instead of sliding. The bounces are techable, giving players with good timing the chance to get back in the fight faster.
  • Tweaks to knockback scaling on Up Aerials have been made across the board. Upair ladders are now less reliable as a KO option on their own.
  • The respawn meteor's fall speed is now the character's fall speed.
  • The respawn meteor can now fast fall.
  • CPU opponents now have better DI
  • Tribalstack Tropics has been removed from the stage list in Competitive Mode.
  • Shivering Coast's blast zones have been reduced in size.


Ledge changes:



  • Removed the 55 frames ledge grab restriction after getting hit, players can now grab ledges immediately after taking damage.
  • Characters no longer get ledge invincibility after landing on Olaf's pillar/platform
  • Decreased ledge snap distance when facing the ledge from 2.5 to 2 (snap distance remains 1 when not facing the ledge)


Teching changes:



  • Wallteching has been added.
  • The teching window has been reduced to 10 frames. The cooldown for a missed tech is still 30 frames.


Menu changes:



  • Decreased result screen timer in online lobbies for spectators.
  • Added a new controller setting "Use taunts on pedestal" . This defaults to "On". If set to "Off" you can't use taunts on pedestals (like on the character select / stage select / result screen) and frees up the dpad for navigation.


Bug fixes:



  • Fixed a bug with detecting resolution on screens with aspect ratio different than 16:9
  • Fixed a bug where you could fast fall a ledge attack and self destruct
  • Fixed the microphone icon showing up in gameplay when a player is muted.



Yooka and Laylee



  • Decreased hitbox size and hit active frames on Forward Aerial
  • Up Air Attack angle adjusted to send opponent a bit more to the side
  • Projectile speed decreased
  • Projectile's knockback decreased
  • Small bubble now deals 1 dmg
  • Big bubble now deals 6 dmg and its speed increases with time charged
  • Up Special now consumes Rage



The Drifter



  • Down Charge Attack no longer has an active hitbox above the sword



Juan



  • Sprint Attack reverted to configuration before 1.7.0
  • Aerial Rooster Uppercut now consumes Rage



Vandal



  • Up Special and Up Air Special now consume Rage



Ripjack



  • Poison DPS reduced from 5 to 3

  • Small tweak to Down Air Special knockback angle

Update 1.6 is live with a new public lobby system!

New Online Lobby system!



We've reworked the online matchmaking and lobby systems! Online play is now separated into Ranked Matchmaking and Online Lobbies to make it easier to find the kind of fight you're looking for!

With this new system, 4-player FFA, Team Matches and Party Mode are now all available to play in public lobbies!

Brawlout's Major 1.5 Update is now Live!

Update 1.4.18: Improvements to the ledge.



THE UPDATE ONSLAUGHT CONTINUES. These changes should make the ledge a bit more interesting, making maneuvers such as ledgedashing and approaching with a rising aerial attack from a ledgehang possible/viable.

NEW:


  • Jumping now has a 8 frame buffer.
  • You can now fastfall from a ledgehang by double tapping down.
  • There is now a 0.5 second ledge regrab timer that is active when attacking from ledge.

ADJUSTED:


  • You can now act faster after jumping off of the ledge.
  • You can now fastfall right after wavedashing off of a platform.

FIXED:


  • Fixed a bug in 1.4.16 where players couldn't downtilt on platforms without cstick.

ADJUSTED:


  • You can now fastfall during most aerial attacks.
    • Attacks that stop or alter your momentum, such as Sephi'ra's forward air part 1 or divekick cannot be fastfalled.
    • Previously, players could not fastfall while an attack was active.

  • You can now act faster after falling from ledge

FIXED:


  • Fixed some ledge get up invincibility timings
