Quick fix for the Recycle Bench

v0.7.69
-Fixed Recycle bench item dup bug in online alpha branch.
-Fixed Recycle bench placed on docks so it stays on the dock.
-Update to how cannons consume ammo on boats so that they first use ammo in the player inventory, then from the boats inventory.
-Update to items to remove any Unobtainium references where they are not supposed to be.
-Changed Recycle Bench to not break down any type of crystals.

New: Recycle Bench and Titan Firework

In the most recent build (v0.7.6.8) there is a new contraption and a new item related to the recent Ashray enemy that was added to the world. Specifically the resource the Ashray drop. You can now build the Recycle Bench contraption and the Titan Firework item!

Recycle Bench


The Recycle Bench will let you break down items into their base resources. If something is already a base resource it will break down into a stick instead. (Which can be burned if your doing it to remove objects from the world/your inventory.)

Titan Firework


The Titan Firework is an early game item that when used has a chance of causing a nearby Turtle Titan to change the direction its walking and to move away from where the firework exploded. If the Titan is already in combat, it wont work. The Titan Firework has a 30% chance of causing a Turtle Titan to move, so its best to keep a couple in your inventory. The Titan Firework is also the only object you can place on a boat deck to launch while sailing around.

Other updates


This update also brings a game engine update, plus multiple improvements to the online alpha branch, translation improvements, and other system updates. You can see the full build notes in the previous News post, or in the Discord build_notes channel.

New contraption Recycle Bench and new item Titan Firework!

-Recycle Bench has been added to the world. It lets you break down objects to their base resource.
-Titan Fireworks item has been added to the world. It has a chance of making Titans change their path.

Ashray Enemy have been added to the game!

The Ashray enemy is now live!



Ashray may look friendly but has an explosive personality. They have long been planned to be part of the Blue Crystal trees, but haven't made it in the game until now. A new contraption will show up early next week related to them, so keep an eye out for that update too.



The Ashray have a specific place in the world lore and Breakwaters fiction. Coming from the Blue Crystal trees, they manifest directly from the crystals but when daylight comes they return to their prisons until the next night. As the Blue Crystal trees roam the island (did you know the crystal trees can move?!), the Ashray's prison moves with the tree. It's best to not let the trees get too close to your base.

Online Alpha updates:



This week I was able to update the build each day, multiple times a day in some cases, to the Online Alpha branch. Next week I will continue to update it quickly with improvements, feature updates, and bug fixes. If you have bugs to report or feedback, feel free to share in the Discord. If I am online, I am always happen to chat too.

Recent improvements to the online alpha have been mostly related to bug fixes and quality improvements. It's feeling much better but there are a few things to still work on before it can move to public beta. If the current velocity is kept with bug fixes, then it shouldn't be too long.

New Ashray enemy spawns from Crystal Trees at night!

-The Ashray enemy has been added to the Blue Crystal trees and will spawn at night. They have a unique item drop which will be part of a new contraption coming in the next couple of days.

Sickle harvest mode and Plants on Docks improvements

-Improved the Blue Crystal Sickle to have a alternate attack which will only harvest plants in a narrow fov and only damage plants
-Updated Wood Sign setup so it will correctly attach to Floating Docks when placed

Improvement to contraption mounting logic in single player and online alpha

v0.7.64
-Fixed contraptions placed on floating docks so that the player will correctly stay with the contraption and dock height while mounted on the contraption. This improves the online result also, but there is still some inaccuracy in the movement to be fixed.
-Fixed Picnic tables so that online players are correctly mounted onto the seats when they sit at the table

Gameplay updates based on online alpha feedback
