The life of a game tester can be challenging, trying, sometimes irritating… But also full of laughter when you encounter harmless but totally bizarre bugs.
So while we’re fixing them, let’s see what bugs our QA testers have collected!

Oh, and we have a new stream playing on the Brewpub Simulator Steam page. It shows the mechanics of decorating your in-game brewpub in more detail, and it might serve you as an inspiration for the question about your dream pub *wink wink*

Who's St.Patrick anyway?
Everyone knows what it means: green hats, shamrocks everywhere, and, of course, Guinness. But why exactly do we drink beer on St. Patrick’s Day? And why is this holiday so green forward? (Also, some more info about the demo at the end, don’t miss it!)
Let’s start at the beginning. St. Patrick is probably the most recognizable patron of Ireland, even tho he wasn’t Irish himself. Patrick was born in Great Britain, then captured and enslaved as a young boy. As a slave, he was brought to Ireland for the first time but luckily he managed to escape.
Back in England, he became a cleric. As a servant to God, he had a vision telling him to bring Christianity to Ireland which was largely polytheistic up until that point. And so, he did. And now the Irish celebrate on the anniversary of his death.
There are a lot of legends surrounding St. Patrick, some more ludicrous than others but all generally entertaining. Driving all snakes from the island? How cool is that?
But then why do we drink beer on St. Patrick’s? The answer is simple: on this day Christians are allowed to put aside their Lenten restrictions on food and alcohol consumption. So you can imagine that turned into a rather huge celebration involving the most popular (and most readily available) alcoholic drink of the time. Cheers!
Speaking of beer, we have a pretty green surprise waiting for you in our demo right now!
Fun fact: St. Patrick’s Day = green. Why? Because shamrock, the three-leaf clover, is green! Supposedly Patrick explained the concept of the Holy Trinity using shamrock leaves. Clever! Since then shamrock has been incorporated as one of the symbols for this holiday… and turned EVERYTHING green!
It turned beers green too.
Besides the green beer, you can also expect some more Patrick-themed decorations to boost your celebratory mood when you’re playing Brewpub Simulator demo. Be sure to show us the results!
And as for Brewpub, we will have something cool for y’all tomorrow 👀
See ya!
Renovation innovation annotation (for your brewing station)
Happy St. Pat— Wait, not yet.
But while we're waiting for one of the most important days of the year (for beer afficionados), we wanted to talk about something else. About renovation! Behold, here's a taste:
One of the things that we're still upgrading for the full game is the makeover mechanics. We want you to really feel that you turn your brewpub from a ruin into something else. Maybe another ruin—if you choose so.
The point is, we've been adding decoration options, from wall colors to decors to various statues or plants you can put in your pub. You can also change up your kitchen, and your garden—which, by the way, is also a thing we're working on daily. Our goal: to let you create something unique, special, and channeling yourself.
Take a look at how different you can make your place:
Why just read it? Try it in our demo! And don't forget to add Brewpub Simulator to your wishlist, so you don't miss a beat.
The demo has been out for a while now, so it’s time to see what YOU think about it!
Let’s take a look.
You know what? You’re all incredible! No improvements would have been possible without your feedback. You’re so honest with your opinions (sometimes brutally so) but we love it nonetheless. Keep them coming!
Btw, remember that you can still play the demo. And what are we working on now?
customer interactions (more on that soon),
more decoration and customizing options,
brewing competitions,
new beer recipes,
new equipment to make your life at a pub easier!
and more of course *wink wink*
What do we mean by more decorations and customization? Well, obviously, more wallpapers, floor styles, furniture, the usual. But we also wanted to allow the players to make the pub truly theirs. We would have loved that option for ourselves too, so we made it possible to change the front of the pub and customize its logo. This way you’ll have a chance to make this space uniquely yours!
Brewpub Simulator is not just about sitting in your workshop, making beers and then selling them to people in the pub. It should be possible for you to prove your brewing mastery, right? So we put competition in the game! As a brewpub owner, you can get an invitation to a contest for which you’ll have to brew a fresh keg of your best beer and send it to them to be judged. Fame and fortune await! We think ;D But it also means we need to enlarge the repertoire of brews, so we are introducing more recipes into the game. They will include Stouts, Porters, Pilsners, and more.
And what about the new equipment? The idea hit us square in the face the more we played our own game. Trays. A normal thing you see in any pub, so why not introduce it here too? That started us thinking about the mechanics: is it a skill? How hard would it be to master? Do you unlock it at a certain point or do you have a tray in your inventory straight away? We’re not gonna tell you yet but it’s an interesting mechanic to figure out ;) And dishwashers. We need actual dishwashers in a pub. Of course. So we made it happen.
We’re happy to see you like the demo as it is, and we are now working on improvements, fixes, and polishes. All thanks to you. So, thanks and… see you behind the counter!
It’s all about CUSTOMIZATION
Hello Brewers!
Our game’s getting bigger and bigger, and we have lots of content added to support the mechanics. For example, when it comes to decorations, the selection of items, wall decors etc. will be infinitely larger than what you saw in the demo.
We’d like to show you the stuff that we’ve been working on. Also to get you acquainted with our game if you haven’t played the demo.
So how about we start with…
Decorating your own pub!
It’s easy, it’s nice, and in the full game, you can go wild with it in the SANDBOX MODE. There, you’ll get full creative freedom without having to worry about the finances. So you’ll be able to focus on decorating, serving your customers, but most importantly, on brewing. And a part of this is…
Creating labels!
Here’s a taste (pun intended!) of our label customization system. It’s super easy to use, and you can be very creative also with the naming of your beer. Let’s take a look.
So what’s next?
If you want to keep an ear to the ground, we are currently working on new gameplay elements and we’re testing the game in and out. New systems that you haven’t seen yet are all about your prestige, the ability to change the style/nature of your pub, the way you deliver stuff, and what your customers do in the pub.
We’ll show more in the upcoming weeks, so smash that wishlist button and join the party!
The Steam Next Fest is slowly coming to an end, but we know you've been having a great time with Brewpub Simulator. We even have proof! Some of you even recorded gameplay. How about taking a look at it?
Thanks for playing and keep the contest in mind! You can win the FULL GAME, you know.
Take part in our contest and win the full game! What do you have to do? Play the demo during this Steam Next Fest and catch an unusual situation on a screenshot or video. Customer drinking out of a keg? Recorded! A nice tower made out glasses? Screen taken!
When you already have something cool you want to share, post your screen/video on Twitter or TikTok with #BrewpubSim and tagging @moviegamessa.
Be sure to have read the Contest Rules! 5 best entries win the full version of Brewpub Simulator after it’s released.
