0.9.3 is largely a polish and bug fixing release with a focus on making the game more rewarding and easier to understand.
Additions:
- Added an icon near the Chi meter that will activate when the player is using an ‘active’ special or ultra ability. (i.e.: shields or buffing the next shot)
Changes:
- Walking speed for all characters has been adjusted to make them feel better and play more in character.
- Audio adjustments to some sound effects.
- ‘Typewriter’ sound when talking to merchants has been adjusted to be less abrasive.
- Corpse of Red Widow is lower to the ground so that it doesn’t block the player’s view.
- Added a sound effect for Dallas Beach’s shields deactivating so that it’s more clear when the shields are up.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a couple of rare door placement bugs.
Bunker Punks Ver. 0.9.2 Update
Bunker Punks ver. 0.9.2 is live!
This is largely a polish and bug fixing update with changes to make the UI easier to use and understand.
Additions:
- Some punks will play special speech lines when they pick up armor and weapons that they specialize in. (ie: Cleopatra Rex and rifle weapons)
Changes:
- Added some screen fade transitions to various menus and screens.
- Redesigned the post-level popup so that it’s more clear how the par and all-clear bonuses work and are added up.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug where the Riot Gear Achievement unlocked the Skate Gear Achievement.
- Fixed a bug where the Skate Gear Achievement wasn’t triggering.
- Fixed a bug where purchasing everything from the Wasteland Merchant Caravan didn’t correctly trigger the achievement.
- Fixed a bug where the Chi bar would appear on the GUI after a punk is killed.

Bunker Punks Ver. 0.9.1.1 - Hotfix and More Achievements
Bunker Punks Version 0.9.1.1 is live.
This is primarily a hotfix for a very rare bug which prevented some players from finishing levels, but as an added bonus, there are new Steam Achievements as well.
Additions:
- New Steam Achievements added.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug which would cause enemies to fall through the floor on rooms with 'Gap Pillars' or 'Gap Stages' in the room. If the boss enemy fell through the floor, he couldn't be killed and the player was prevented from finishing the level.

Bunker Punks Ver. 0.9.1 - Trading Cards and Big Balance Update
0.9.1 Release Notes
0.9.1 is a HUGE balance and polish update with a lot for both new and veteran players as well as implementation of Steam Trade Cards.
Additions:
- Steam Trading Cards, Badges, Emoticons and Profile Backgrounds are hooked up and ready to go.
- Character Specific Loadouts: The armor and weapons equipped to each character are saved during a game so that you can switch characters have their previous load out available.
Changes:
- Double Turrets shoot in three shot bursts, down from four.
- Par times for Bronze, Silver and Gold bonus have been reduced.
- Backpack instructions for keyboard added to the tutorial image on the loading screen.
- Tutorial posters are mixed with regular posters on new games to allow for more of a narrative experience.
- The number of enemies on the first few levels is higher for experienced players, but is lower for new players. This makes the game more inviting for new players and keeps it engaging for experienced players.
- Full difficulty progression pass through all levels with a general increase in difficulty.
- The time window for combos has been increased by 20%.
- HP for some punks have been changed. Notable Dallas Beach has less health to make up for his One Shot Shield ability.
- Assault Shotgun damage and range reduced.
- More lighting variety on all levels types.
- Color adjustments made to some level tiles to brighten up some duller tiles.
Bug Fixes:
- When players win a game and get the Victory achievement, all lower difficulty achievements are automatically awarded.
- When playing on Expert or Brutal difficulty, enemies that have a dash movement now dash faster instead of slower.
- The old damage overlay would no longer reactivates when picking up health.
- Backpack slots now keep track of the ammunition for each weapon stored in the backpack. This fixes a potential infinite ammo exploit.
- The Games Won counter for Steam Achievements would sometimes miss registering a win. This has been fixed.
0.9.0 Release Notes - Achievements!
0.9.0 marks the final stretch in Bunker Punks development. The content is all in (except for Null Point - the last Bunker Punk, who will be playable at launch) and now we’re working on balance, interface, Steam Feature support (Achievements!) and getting the game ready for launch. This update includes the first batch of Steam Achievements. More achievements and support for Steam features will be coming in future updates.
Additions:
- The first pass of Steam Achievements are in. More achievements will be coming in the future. If you have any ideas for new achievements, please comment below or in the Feedback and Suggestions board in the Steam Community.
Changes:
- Running Armor set has been removed.
- Joey Fit has been renamed Joey Future and moved to the end of a game. All unlocks are now available through Joey. A progress bar tracking what’s been unlocked has also been added.
- Epitaph text when you die now fades in and isn’t framed any more.
- Doctor’s and Banker’s armor now give an amor bonus as well as their bonus on pickups.
- Health pickups are much more plentiful, but are less effective.
- All enemies do slightly more damage.
- Heavy damage weapons (50 Cal, Sword, Hunting Rifle) have their damage reduced.
- Tech drops more frequently
- Only the first tier of weapons and amor are available on new games. Remaining amor and weapons must be purchased from Joey Future using Tech. Playtesting revealed that the weapon choice was overwhelming for new players.
- Tutorial Text has been updated to reflect these changes.
- Tech costs for unlocking items has been adjusted for most items.
- Rooms and Upgrades can no longer be unlocked using Tech in the Bunker Building - this was confusing to many players.
- More floors were added to most of the bunkers, with the majority of bunkers having 3 floors.
Bug Fixes:
- Multiple minor bug fixes.
note: Because of a few structural changes to how items are unlocked and levels are decided, you might encounter freezes or crashes with old save data. If this occurs, please start a new game. If the problems continue, you will have to RESET your game from the Options Menu in the Main Menu. Apologies for those affected by this change.
Bunker Punks Ver. 0.8.7 - Music, Blood Splatters and Victory

Bunker Punks Ver. 0.8.6
Version 0.8.6 is largely a tutorial and narrative focused update, almost tripling the variety of in-game posters, the addition of an opening text crawl as well as additional balance, polish and bug fixing.
Additions:
- Tutorial Posters - On the first few levels of a game, the regular in-game posters will be replaced by tutorial posters. Controls and gameplay tactics are covered in the tutorials.
- Decorative Posters - Many new decorative posters have been added, including wanted posters for the rest of the Zero Sum Gang.
- There is an introduction text crawl at the beginning of a new game with the history of The Fall and the birth of the Bunker Punks.
- Description pop-ups over each difficulty level at the start of a new game.
Changes:
- Level lighting adjustments
- Plasma Cannon shakes during charging now and has been rebalanced
- Only the mini-boss in the last room needs to be killed to unlock the elevator instead of all enemies. This is to prevent situations where the player has to hunt down ‘that last drone’ to unlock the elevator.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a rare bug where a hole would appear in the floor
- Fixed Plasma Cannon charge/fire behaviour problems
- Fixed an issue where the Chi-Bar wouldn’t disappear on death in some situations

Bunker Punks Ver. 0.8.5
Bunker Punks 0.8.5 is live!
This is a HUGE balance and gameplay update. While there isn’t a lot of new content, the game balance has been changed a great deal. The overall goal was to keep the ‘Normal’ difficulty engaging for new players while providing Expert and “Brutal” difficulty for players who are more proficient at playing FPS games.
If you haven't picked up the game in a while, this is a great time to drop back in.
Additions:
- “Brutal” difficulty added. Enemies move faster, shoot faster bullets and do more damage.
Changes:
- Health changes to all med-high Hit Point enemies. All ‘bullet sponges’ have had their Hit Points reduced to keep the game moving at a fast pace.
- Player momentum physics reduced slightly.
- Proxyman now shoots 2 shots instead of 3. The individual shots do slightly more damage.
- Early levels have less room shape variety in them, while harder levels have more variety.
- Level lighting adjustments.
- Difficulty progression from Bunker to Bunker on the map is more smoothed out.
- All difficulty levels have been rebalanced
- “No Broadcasting” poster removed from the game - this was confusing streamers and YouTube content creators. We want you to stream this game - please stream Bunker Punks!
- Chi drops have been removed as the variety of drops was overwhelming some players. Chi is now gained exclusively through destroying things and combos.
- Max AoE on Plasma Cannon reduced
- Damage on Rocket Launcher reduced. It’s now intended to be serve as a crowd control AoE style weapon.
- Enemy movement speeds have been adjusted for almost all of the enemy units.
Bug Fixes:
- Rendering error on toxic spills have been fixed.
- Rendering error on the elevator button has been fixed.
Bunker Punks Ver. 0.8.4.1
Bunker Punks Ver. 0.8.4.1 is live
This is a quick hot fix to address a rendering bug and some balance and gameplay issues. Thanks to everyone in the community who reported bugs and gave feedback on the new momentum controls. It’s very much appreciated!
Changes:
- Reduced the momentum on the new player physics so it’s much tighter while still retaining a bit of momentum.
- Reduced the speed on the Pacifier.
- Reduced the curve on the number of enemies that appear in a room so that the first few levels are easier.
Bug Fixes:
- Addressed a rendering issue with the glowing green pool that appears when you destroy a Proxyman vat.
- Fixed a font rendering issue there the ‘-‘ wasn’t being rendered in the Equipment Info Popup.

Bunker Punks Ver 0.8.4 is live.
This is a small update with a variety of polish and bug fix improvements.
Changes:

Bug Fixes:
Fixed an rendering error where some objects would be rendered in front of another object incorrectly when they were near posters on the walls.
Fixed an error with swapping items from the backpack and holding down the swap button.

The correct number of backpack slots now appears in the GUI when you upgrade the Packrat room in the bunker.
