Screenshot marathon - day 3
Today's screenshot features the tourist bus on Chinese serpentines. Behind these concrete blocks is a cliff, which means that one will have to maintain low speed on such roads. It's especially hard to make the corner on a big bus.

Getting ready for Early Access: list of languages
While testers are thoroughly looking for bugs and programmers are fixing them, we are getting the game ready for Early Access release.
The trailer is coming soon.
Meanwhile, we're translating the game to several languages. Here are all languages that will be available on the initial release: English, Russian, German, Korean, Italian, Chinese, Spanish, Latin Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Turkish. Don't worry if you haven't found your language in the list - it's possible that we add it in one of the updates.

A part of Red Forest scenario gameplay video
Here is another gameplay video! This time, it's a part of Red Forest scenario:
Scenario description: Red forest is a forest near Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which took the largest radiation dose when the reactor exploded. It caused trees to die and become red. The liquidators are going to begin the decontamination soon. In order to make their work safe, get there and detect the most contaminated places.

The amount of content in Bus World and our plans for the game
Recalling the release of Bus Driver Simulator to Early Access, we now understand how much has changed since then. Out previous game had relatively small amount of content back then: two buses, seven scenarios and a small map.
Bus World will have much more content in its open beta: two maps both of which are bigger than Serpukhov, almost ten buses, 20 scenarios (moreover, they are really different and are not like "drive along the route), and Free mode.
Some things are still to be done after Early Access release, like dirt and volumetric tracks and some new scenarios. A bit later, we'll make another post about the things we'd like to add while the game is in Early Access.
No our game has been worked on before Early Access for so long. For example, Bus Driver Simulator was in development since the end of 2016 to come out in Early Access in January of 2018. Bus World has been in development since Summer of 2019.
We haven't disabled FPS counter for the screenshots so that you can take a look at how the game runs on a mid-range PC with GeForce GTX 1080. We've been working on optimization through the whole development process and it was the hardest task - HDRP on Unity is really hard to work with. We had to take some compromises as well: in some places of Chornobyl map, the game will load map chunks on the fly (even though these loads are very fast, they are still noticeable - we plan to get rid of them in the future).
We also understand that many of you are disappointed by the news about models of cars and buses. But, as we wrote before, we can't do anything about it now. But, we'll look if we can implement the support of user-made mods. In any case, implementing modding support will be a very slow process because we are a very small team. As of now, the state of affairs in Russian gaming industry is very hard, forcing us to work in a crisis. But, the project we've been working on for so long, is close to public testing, and it pleases us.

For the first time, meet a gameplay video!
Here's a video with the beginning of Radiation Measurement scenario.
You will be able to use a free camera which can be moved anywhere inside the bus and outside near it.
The game is scheduled to be released to Early Access in September. It's not a long wait anymore!

Forced re-work of buses and traffic vehicles
During this year, we've faced many challenges, and we have to make difficult decisions.
In this spring we received a complaint from one of the companies related to transport. They require us to pay a fine and remove content which is used illegally, in their opinion. We are still trying to insist that we aren't violating any copyrights, but it isn't a quick routine, and of course it takes money, time and mental health. It is still unknown what will happen in the end of this story.
In this regard, we took a decision that all vehicles in Bus World will look unlike any real ones to minimize the risk of receiving more complaints. That goes for both buses and traffic cars.
Buses will have their own names - we came up with a few fictional manufacturers. Of course, we consider the direction of design solutions during the years when the real bus was manufactured.
On the screenshots below you can see Soviet buses OSB-3101, OSB Vostok and a modern bus which you can drive in Southern China.
Anticipating questions about licensing real buses and cars: our probability to negotiate on acceptable conditions is very low. We have some experience in working with lawyers in this sphere and representatives of transport companies. Unfortunately, situation with patents and copyrights in sphere of transport is very complicated: areas of responsibility of employees are blurred, taking decisions lasts for a long time and finally, they are not interested in cooperation with small studios like us due to non-comparable level of companies.
We understand that many of you may be disappointed with this news, but unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it now.
