Business Magnate 1.16 update

Business Magnate update 1.16 is now available.

This adds new interest rates, possibility to adjust difficulty even after the game has started, a few gameplay improvements and smaller bug fixes here and there. Details:




  • Interest rate
    The game difficulty setting now influences the interest rate for loans. Steeper difficulty causes higher interest rates.

  • Adjustable difficulty
    The difficulty setting can now be adjusted during gameplay, after you started the game already, which is useful if the game is for example to easy or too difficult for you.

  • Stock allocation algorithm adjusted a bit to use the nearest store if possible

  • The employee salaries summary screen now is a bit more easier to read and has a horizontal line for the total sums



  • Fixed a few spellings in the Spanish translation

  • Adjusted currency conversions (USD - EUR - RUB - CHF) a bit to reflect current exchange rates a bit better if possible

  • Fixed a graphic glitch in sales data statistics on some older Windows systems

  • Adjusted landing parachute research points for rocket businesses

Business Magnate 1.15 update

Business Magnate update 1.14 is now available.

This adds nicer HighDPI-support, a few gameplay improvements and smaller bug fixes. Details here:




  • High DPI support: The game now looks much nicer on displays with High DPI support

  • Marketing campaign queue fixed: When deleting a campaign in the list of marketing campaigns, sometimes a wrong items was deleted. This is fixed now.

  • When deleting an existing product, the upcoming marketing campaigns of this products are now also automatically deleted, since they make no sense anymore then.

  • Adjusted the propability of people buying overpriced models a bit:
    If you create a model with much too big price point, there will be still people buying the product (just like in the real world, like as status symbol) just as before but it now depends a bit more on the features and uniqueness of the product.

  • Research points radars in ships and gps modules of phones have been adjusted a bit

  • Fixed a problem causing the game to have stuttering music on some few systems sometimes

Business Magnate 1.14 update

Business Magnate update 1.14 is now available.

This update adds multiple research tasks, new shortcuts for game speed and other various improvements here and there. Details here:

  • Multiple Research Tasks

    You can now create research tasks at once. Your team is still only able to run one research at the same time, but they can now be queued, just like the marketing campaigns in the version 1.12 update. Once the current research has finished, the next research in the queue gets started automatically, reducing the hassle of waiting for the next research the be finished before you can plan the next one.
    Already queued research can be viewed in the research overview screen, and can also be cancelled there before they start, in case you have changed your mind.

  • New shortcuts for gamespeed

    There are now a few keyboard shortcuts for setting the game speed:
    - Pause: Pauses and un-pauses the game
    - F6: Normal Speed
    - F7: Fast Speed
    - F8: Very Fast Speed

  • The mail filter button in the mail dialog now has a tooltip so that it can be found easier by new players

  • Fixed german translation for some gearbox texts

  • Fixed a minor problem causing the settings dialog on chinese systems to be shown at a weired place sometimes

Business Magnate 1.13 update

Business Magnate update 1.13 is now available.

This update adds performance improvements, the possibility to quickly re-produce what you did last time in a production facility, and various gameplay adjustments. Details here:

  • Performance improvements
    Merged a few updates from the engine of our upcoming game "Smart City Plan", causing Business Magnate to run a bit faster on very slow systems.

  • Repeat last production option
    Production buildings now store which product has been produced last time, and show this in the list when you start a new production, so it can be easily re-selected.



  • Competition AI: Prices of products created by the competition have been a bit adjusted again

  • Research points of damage control systems in tanks and sonars in ships have been adjusted a bit.



We are also currently thinking of adding a 'continuous production' option for end product to production buildings. If a lot of people want this and the tests go well, this will likely be added into the next update.

Business Magnate 1.12 update

Business Magnate update 1.12 is now available.

This update adds the possibility to filter your inbox for important messages only, an Advanced Rockets template for creating mods, and a few gameplay adjustments. Details here:


  • Mail filters
    You can now define filters for mails you get in the game. For this, click the new button on the center right of the mail reader.
    There, you can select not to receive any notifications anymore if a marketing campaign or hiring round has finished, if a delivery has arrived or if research has been done.



  • Advanced Rockets Mod template
    A lot of people have requested this, so here is is now: A rocket mod template. If you want to create a space company with a bit different rocket configurations
    as in the default game, you can create a mod for this and base this on this new template now. This mod is based on the existing space company data and can be adjusted freely.

  • Adjusted competition
    The competition AI now sets a bit more diverse prices for their products in some special cases

  • Resources needed for Dataports for producing PCs have been adjusted slightly

Business Magnate 1.9 update

Business Magnate update 1.9 is now available.

This update adds the possibility to plan multiple Marketing Campaigns, adjusts large basic resource ordering and adds a few tweaks and bug fixes. Details here:


  • Multiple Marketing Campaigns
    You can now create multiple marketing campaigns at once. Your team is still only able to run one campaign at the same time, but they can now be queued. Once the current campaign has finished, the next campaign in the queue gets started automatically, reducing the hassle of waiting for the next campaign the be finished before you can plan the next one.
    Already queued campaigns can be viewed in the marketing overview screen, and can also be cancelled there before they start, in case you have changed your mind.



  • Ordering very large amounts of base materials is now about 28% faster.
    This is very useful if you run a company needing for example a lot of metal for manufacturing large ships.


  • Adjusted the resources needed for producing improved collision avoidance when selling air planes.

  • Adjusted needed time for researching thermal sights of tanks

  • Fixed a small bug causing the auto-hire feature introduced in the 1.8 update only hire 99% of all needed employees sometimes instead of the needed 100%.
    This only happened in very large companies.

  • Fixed a bug causing long product types not to show any text in the "Create new product" dialog in some languages

  • Fixed a text in the german translation referencing the "Finances" tab in english language

Business Magnate 1.8 update

Business Magnate update 1.8 is now available.

This update adds two of the most requested features: Market share statistics and the possibility to auto-hire new employees. Details here:


  • Market Share Statistics
    There is now a market share statistics tab in the 'sales' dialog. This gives a nice overview of your company in relation to the competition.




  • Auto-Hire feature
    The game now has an auto-hire feature, which you can use if you don't want to manually re-hire employees all the time in large companies.
    Once your company reached a certain size, there will be a button in the 'Hire Employees' dialog, which enables this functionality. You
    will also get a mail once this feature is unlocked.




  • Fixed a few minor formatting problems in some of the mails when language is set to german or french.

  • Adjusted the material requirements of the "All wheel drive" drive-train of trucks a bit

  • Changed the size of the electric vehicle battery for trucks and tanks (yes, you can build electric tanks in this game)


The next update will likely add more possibilities to automate things in the game, like auto-marketing-campaigns.

Business Magnate 1.7 update


Business Magnate update 1.7 is now available.

This update adds mod support (beta) and various small gameplay changes and improvements. Details here:


  • Mod support
    You can now add your own mods to the game, and create games with new business types. There is now a section "Mod support" in the game manual, explaining how to do that.
    There is also a downloadable example mod available which adds the business type "calculators" to the game.



    Note: This feature is new and still beta. It was tested, and seems to work nicely, but there might be still some bugs. Also, you need to have a bit of experience for creating mods, it is not that simple.

  • Bigger Warehouses
    Adjusted warehouse sizes a bit: The "Very large warehouse" now has 25% bigger storage space, and the "Large warehouse" has 30% more space.

  • The 'bulldoze' item now has a bulldozer icon ontop of it, in order to make it more easily distingishable from other items in the list.

  • Multifuel engines like the gas turbine for tank production had the tag "multifuel", which wasn't translated into any language, this is fixed now.

  • Changed some strings to fix missing capitalization at some places in the UI

  • Changed the text 'Monitoring' when producing planes to 'Monitors' which makes much more sense

Business Magnate 1.6 update


Business Magnate update 1.6 is now available.

This update adds a feature which users running many companies at the same time requested: The possibility to dissolve a company. It also includes a few other changes. Details here:


  • Company dissolving
    You can now dissolve your companies if you want to. This will cause all employees to be dismissed, the land will be sold and all production stopped. This will only work for all but the last company you own, of course. It is very useful if you have more than one company and you decide not to continue with that particular business type.
    There is a new section 'Dissolve company' on the 'Finances' tab for this.



  • WASD scrolling
    Since it was requested that often, it is now possible to use the keys 'W', 'A', 'S', 'D' in addition to the cursor keys on the keyboard to scroll the view.

  • Fixed a problem where the graphics of delivered ships sometimes didn't match the actual produced ships

  • Adjusted the amount of plastics required for certain configurations of air plane air conditioning systems

  • Changed influenced values a bit for Dual-clutch transmission and Automatic gearboxes in tanks

  • Optimized algorithm which decides which ware house is to be used after a product was produced and needs to be stored, reducing ways for trucks and fork lifts a bit sometimes

  • Improved a few texts in the spanish translation of the game

Business Magnate 1.5 update


Business Magnate update 1.5 is now available.

This update adds the most wished feature request: The possibility to extend your company's piece of land. It also includes a few other changes. Details here:


  • Site Extension
    It is now possible to extend your company's piece of land. This was the most requested feature by players, and makes it possible to build a few more buildings if you have a very large company.
    To do this, go to the finances tab -> Land -> click 'Expand the property'. You can only do this once, and it will cost you about 2,5 Mio $.
    The game engine was not written with this in mind, so this took a bit of effort to implement, but it's now there and it works, hope you have fun with this new feature.



  • Spanish translation
    The game is now available in spanish as well, making the game now available in 7 languages (Thanks, Crusly Bec!)

  • Improved chart display when there are more than 5 comepting products displayed on the market segments overview in the sales tab.
  • Improved parts of the russian translation (thanks to Николай)
  • Improved performance with the bigger businesses which are possible to create now
  • Changed needed resources for thrust reversers (when producing/selling airplanes) to be a bit more realistic and balanced
  • Adjusted research points needed for thermal sight systems (when producing/selling tanks)
  • Fixed some typos in the german translation and in the Manual (thanks to mine_skill)
  • Fixed a problem when dragging game window accross multiple screens.
