The Season 2 Battle Pass features over one hundred rewards, including two new base weapons. Purchase the full Battle Pass and earn 1,400 COD Points as you progress through the Sectors to access all the Season 2 Battle Pass content. Or why not purchase BlackCell for extra content, including reactive spectral Operator Skins, Battle Token Tier Skips, and additional rewards.

Here's all the intel on the incredible Battle Pass content you can earn, beginning with the BlackCell’s premium offering.

BlackCell Season 2

BlackCell Sector: Overview

Drop into the Battle Pass AO at an alternative starting location by accessing the exclusive BlackCell Sector. Unlock this Sector to immediately receive 1,100 COD Points, the new “John Doe” BlackCell Operator, and the following:

The animated “Molten BlackCell” SVA 545 Assault Rifle Weapon Blueprint featuring dripping animations, and comes with Pyrite Tracers and “Gilded Ghoul” Death Effect.

The animated “Lament BlackCell” Sidewinder Battle Rifle Weapon Blueprint featuring dripping animations and comes with Pyrite Tracers and “Gilded Ghoul” Death Effect.. Also in the Sector is the “Knuckle Sandwich” Operator Finishing Move.

In addition, scattered throughout the Sectors of the Season 2 Battle Pass are BlackCell-only items. These include 11 reactive BlackCell Operator Skins and six alternate animated Weapon Blueprints with dripping animations.

BlackCell Operator Skins confirmed: John Doe, Rick Grimes, Kate Laswell, Soap, Alpine, Farah, Valeria, Price, Ghost (x2), Riptide, and Warden.

Players who upgrade to BlackCell after purchasing the Battle Pass will also receive 1,100 COD Points back.

Engage in Spectral Operations with BlackCell’s John Doe

Bound to an eternal cycle of war, some souls can never find peace. This stalking revenant brings an otherworldly menace to any match, clad in the tattered remains of black and gold armor, with a glowing purple hue, most predominant within this specter’s sunken eye sockets.

John Doe brings with him a task force of spectral soldiers, all featuring a reactive skin. Seek out enemy Operators to defeat, and your corporeal form changes:

After two kills, you take on a more zombified appearance.

After five kills, you take on a more skeletal state.

Purchase the Battle Pass: Instantly Unlock Rick Grimes & Kate Laswell

Whether you purchase the BlackCell offering or the standard Battle Pass for 1,100 COD Points, the Instant Reward Sector becomes available, and includes two new Operators, as part of this Bonus Sector.

Rick Grimes (SpecGru, Battle Pass Instant Reward)

After being shot in the line of duty, Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Grimes awoke from a coma to find the world irrevocably changed. Rick will not hesitate to act against any threat to his group, be it human or walker. He puts his people first, and though he is battle-hardened and at times overwhelmed by this harsh new reality, his dream of rebuilding civilization and paving the way for a better future never wavers.

BlackCell Owners: You also unlock the “Rick Grimes BlackCell” Operator Skin.

Kate Laswell (SpecGru, Battle Pass Instant Reward)

Kate Laswell began her career in communications where she was quickly recognized for her advanced strategic analysis and climbed the CIA ranks. Across her tenure, she has saved tens of thousands of lives with her detainee information, and now works closely with select special agents to respond to terrorist activity across the globe.

BlackCell Owners: You also unlock the “Kate Laswell BlackCell” Operator Skin.

The Instant Reward Sector also grants you a 10% Battle Pass boost, the “Clank” Weapon Blueprint for the MTZ-762 Battle Rifle, and the “Goose” Operator Finishing Move for Laswell, featuring a vicious takedown by Laswell’s pet dog.

Additional Battle Pass Skins

Complete the Battle Pass Sectors to unlock a variety of new tactical Operator Skins, all of which come paired with a skeletal, animated and reactive BlackCell alternate Skin:

“Hector” Skins (Operator Skin, Soap, Sector B3)

Battle Pass Skin: Gear up in lightly armored Mil-Sim garb featuring a masked helmet and tactical padding across the torso and legs.

BlackCell Additional Skin: Keep the mohawk, lose the skin as Soap becomes a glowing-eyed apparition, seeking vengeance.

“Keres” Skins (Operator Skin, Alpine, Sector B4)

Battle Pass Skin: Ignore any chemical imbalances in the atmosphere as you arrive in combat clad in a long coat, full gas mask, and dark camo.

BlackCell Additional Skin: Bring the dripping undeath look, the skeletal Keres appears in the remains of a light tactical outfit, and baseball cap.

“Skulker” Skins (Operator Skin, Farah, Sector B8)

Battle Pass Skin: An unnerving pair of eyes peer out from a ghillie balaclava, as Farah comes ready for combat in urban tactical gear.

BlackCell Additional Skin: A hooded skull with glowing purple eyes dominates Farah’s BlackCell variant, with peeling bones beneath the combat clothing.

“Rupture” Skins (Operator Skin, Valeria, Sector B11)

Battle Pass Skin: Designed for specific combat opportunities, Valeria comes masked in an all-white combat outfit with light marbling accents.

BlackCell Additional Skin: As gold drips down her combat vest, a skull-faced Valeria comes ready to turn foes into corpses.

“Veil” Skins (Operator Skin, Price, Sector B16)

Battle Pass Skin: Bravo-6 is docked out in impressive all-weather tactical gear, with a double hood and tactical poncho.

BlackCell Additional Skin: New look, same hat: The boonie sits atop of an impressively emaciated Captain Price.

“Venator” Skins (Operator Skin, Ghost, Sector B17)

Battle Pass Skin: Simon “Ghost” Riley becomes a venerated hunter with comms, obligatory face mask, and inclement weather fatigues with an orange accent.

BlackCell Additional Skin: The meat may have fallen off the bone, but Ghost commands just as much awe and respect. Note the gold mask.

“Scar” Skins (Operator Skin, Riptide, Sector B20)

Battle Pass Skin: A fully covered head mask with eye slits for facial features, Riptide favors the impromptu incognito look.

BlackCell Additional Skin: Clad in a partial “ghoulie” suit of black and dripping gold, this otherworldly shroud obscures a skull-faced visage.

Also expect two further Skins (each with a BlackCell variant) once you finish the Battle Pass and unlock the Completion Sector (see below).

New Functional Weapons

Unlock two new functional weapons in Sectors B6 and B7:

RAM-9 Submachine Gun (Sector B6, HVT, Free)

More maneuverable and agile than its assault rifle counterpart, this bullpup SMG chambered in 9mm is lethal at close range.

Offering among the best-in-class Recoil Control and Mobility, as well as the most Rounds and Reserve of any SMG, the RAM-9 may not win any pinpoint accuracy awards (especially a distance), but it can certainly mow down the opposition with high-damage, chamber-emptying assaults, especially as you close in for the kill.

BP50 Assault Rifle (Sector B7, Free)

A modular bullpup chambered in 5.56. Tear down the competition with a high rate of fire and exceptional accuracy for dominating at mid to long ranges.

For Operators needing optimal mobility from their weaponry, the BP50 is a spectacular contender. Offering exceptional maneuverability and a spectacular rate of fire compared to other rifles in its class, this Corvus-built armament can cut down the opposition in a variety of rapid and impressive ways.

New Weapon Blueprints, Vehicle Skin, Additional Content

The Season 2 Battle Pass features 20 Weapon Blueprints and a Vehicle Skin for the UTV. Also get access to an array of Calling Cards, Weapon Charms, Decals, Stickers, Emblems, Finishing Moves, COD Points, and Zombies Acquisitions (including Ammo Mods, Aether Tools, and Raw Aetherium Crystals).

Multiplayer Maps: Four New Core 6v6 Maps

Expect an impressive expansion in the Multiplayer Map pool as Sledgehammer Games delivers four new maps for Core Multiplayer, featuring a mixture of new and familiar combat areas.

Departures (Launch)

Brand-new, Core, 6v6, medium–large sized

Explore the Departures area of the Zakhaev International Airport, a clean and competitive 6v6 map with areas for all ranges of combat. The map is larger than Terminal, so expect the action to be both rapid and tactical, with Operators accessing a central main lobby comprising a west-side ground-level exterior entrance, main luggage check-in and thoroughfare, and an upper mezzanine walkway and security zone along the map’s eastern side. Set up impressive sightlines of varying heights and distances, maneuver across the numerous cover points, or face down foes in close-quarter combat within the Restaurant, Cosmetics Store, or Burger Town.

Stash House (Launch)

Brand-new, Core, 2v2, 6v6, small-sized

Looking for a compact map that redefines the word “chaotic”? Then follow the Federal authorities into a recently raided Bay Area stash house! Climb over (or dive behind) pallets of cash hidden in the garage. Pause only to admire the xeriscape front garden, before infiltrating a suburban ranch home filled with glass windows and more cash scattered about the various rooms. Explore an open-plan living room, den and kitchen, and an outside bar area, hot tub, an additional dwelling in the backyard, and a central Atrium chokepoint where combat is concentrated. Expect an extremely tight, Shipment-sized map that’s perfect for grinding XP, as well as fast and constant gunfights.

Vista (Launch)

Brand-new, Core, 6v6, medium-sized

Welcome to a Brazilian mountaintop resort with gift shops, restaurants, and trams. Aside from the impressive views, expect a more classic feel to this Shoot House-sized, three-lane map with tight interiors and long-range exteriors. Start at the Funicular (a large gondola) or at the Plaza on the opposite side of the map. Explore an exclusive promenade of shops, a raised Central Walkway and glass-walled restaurant, a sunken northern flank with lush jungle foliage, a Gallery, and an upper bar area. Curve around the southern flank with differing heights, decks, and a small Burger Town to drop foes from.

Das Haus (Mid-Season)

New (remastered), Core, 6v6, small-sized

Navigate an under-construction skyscraper in the vicinity of Highrise as the seminal, small-sized Call of Duty: Vanguard map returns with an all-new look. Whether you’re here to cause chaos or just for the XP, expect a much brighter, airier feel to this remastered iteration, as well as a lack of destructible cover for even quicker action. Craving constant combat? Expect it as you navigate the tight central hallway (watching for longshots) or scramble through openings along either of the outer flank routes. New compass names, easily distinguishable blue and orange spawn points, and a penthouse environment lifts “the house” to new heights.

Multiplayer Maps: Two Map Variants

Two additional variants are being added to the pool of otherworldly themed maps, joining Tetanus, Sporeyard, and Satan’s Quarry from Season 1. Enter the flames of an updated Vortex Mid-Season Playlist or drop Zombies as you battle through Hordepoint Mode as you explore the following supernatural locales:

Airborne (Mid-Season)

Map variant, limited-time, Core, 6v6, medium-sized

A virulent plague of unknown origin has swept through Terminal, coating almost every surface with disgusting, pustule-pulsing growths of alien origin! All flights are grounded as swarms of locusts fill the skies, the interior of the parked plane is thick with ooze dripping from the fuselage, and the periodic cockroach invasion at Burger Town indicates this place needs much more than a fumigation.

Skidgrow (Mid-Season)

Map variant, limited-time, Core, 6v6, medium-sized

Enter a vastly overgrown Skidrow as the plant life has taken over, with thick ivy covering the decrepit tenement block walls, tufts of grass have pushed through the concrete, mold and moss coat every corner, and green, vine-like tendrils strangle the rusted vehicle shells, returning this urban landscape back to nature.

Multiplayer Maps: New War Map

Operation Tin Man (Launch)

New, War Mode, 6v6, large-sized

War Mode receives a new, large-scale operation that takes place in downtown Urzikstan. Expect an airdrop as your team skydives down to the roof of a skyscraper, navigating the multi-level construction sight reminiscent of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s 2011 Overwatch map. One team defends and protects this structure while the other activates controls, planting explosives to clear a path downward.

The action then descends through the skyscraper interior, as the attacking team attempts to break into a secure laboratory within the structure while escorting a MAW (Modified Armored Wheelson). An exploration across these sprawling facilities must occur before the Wheelson can hack the data servers.

The operation culminates as the attacking team exits the skyscraper into an urban park. Expect intense and ferocious combat as all hell breaks loose, with one team focusing on establishing an exfil point at a PDS (Portable Decontamination Station) prior to an extraction helo arriving.

Five Game Modes, Vortex Playlist Arrive in Multiplayer

Game Mode: Team Gun Game (Launch)

Instead of the usual free-for-all action that Gun Game is famous for, Team Gun Game matches take place with base Team Deathmatch rules in effect, albeit with a few important differences: Every player starts with the same specific weapon, and you’re here to work with your squadmates, eliminating rival players as a team to progress through a set of eight predetermined weapons.

Score enough points and all teammates spawn with the next weapon simultaneously, with ten team kills per gun progression and five for the final weapon. Naturally, you may want alternative ways to stop the rival team from scoring, which is handy if you’re adept at knife melees and Finishing Moves: Each of those close-quarter takedowns deducts one point from the enemy team’s score, but only to the initial progression score of the weapon your foes are currently using. The first team to score 75 points wins.

Game Mode: Snipers Only (Launch)

Got a steady hand and a predilection for quickscoping? Then drop into this mosh pit, where long-range shots are anticipated, and closer takedowns come down to your dexterity, Loadout, and correct magnification for your sniper scope. Combat occurs across a variety of maps, while modes are mainly focused on Team Deathmatch and Domination. As expected, all weapons besides Sniper Rifles are restricted, including Lethal and Tactical equipment, as you focus on power positions, sightlines, and a steady aim.

Game Mode: Hordepoint (Limited-Time Mode, Launch)

Imagine the challenge of Hardpoint with an added enemy that doesn’t discriminate between SpecGru and KorTac — a shambling mass of zombies, with the occasional unwelcome Elite zombie arriving to add to the pandemonium! First encountered during Call of Duty®: WWII (2017), Hordepoint cranks up the chaos once a player enters a Hardpoint boundary, which causes a portal to open and regurgitate dozens of lurching corpses into the vicinity!

While your team deals with both enemy Operators and the undead, only one of you needs to be within the Hardpoint to keep it captured. This is easier said than done, though mowing down a Zombie gives you a small chance to acquire a Pack-a-Punch Weapon, as well as three Zombies power-ups, including Max Ammo and Instakill, the latter of which only affects the undead. Killstreaks are also available if your undead disposal skills are first in class; every five Zombie kills equals one Operator kill point for the purposes of acquiring Killstreaks.

Expect the Horde Hunt Event to launch alongside this limited-time mode.

Game Mode: Juggermosh (Limited-Time Mode, Mid-Season)

Sledgehammer introduces a special third person-perspective Multiplayer mode variant: Juggermosh. This is all Juggernaut combat, all the time, within matches of Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint.

Aside from the wanton mayhem this mode brings, there are additional rules that add a tactical twist: Maneuver your hulking armor to the middle of the map and secure a powerful, OHK (one-hit kill) melee weapon, giving you tremendous close-range power at the expense of becoming the biggest threat on the battlefield. Drop an adversary and inspect the remains; you can grab armor from the fallen and bulk yourself up. Also check the health bar above your enemies’ heads, and ensure your headshots matter, as this damage is increased.

Apart from this cranial weak spot, your armor is impressive enough to prevent any kind of fall damage; in fact, dropping from a tall enough structure creates a “ground pound” and area-of-effect stun. Only air support Killstreaks are available, along with weapon reloads for your Juggernaut armaments, and specific Perks and stronger melee damage, even without the special weapon. This encourages a more “combo centric” combat strategy, where melee, grenades, and gun pairings are created, depending on the engagement.

Expect an Event to launch alongside this limited-time mode.

Game Mode: Bounty (Mid-Season)

Eliminate enemy players until the score limit is reached to win. Each player has unlimited lives, and matches play similarly to Team Deathmatch. The player with the most kills from each team will be marked as an HVT (high-value target). The HVT alternates between teams on a time interval and extra points are awarded when the HVT is slain.

Playlist Confirmed: Vortex: Decay’s Realm (Limited-Time, Mid-Season)

Explore the terrifying strangeness of the otherworldly map variants in this mid-season moshpit. Vortex: Decay’s Realm features Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint on rotation, with an increased map pool of eldritch locations: Drop into Tetanus, Satan’s Quarry, Sporeyard, and the new map variants Skidgrow and Airborne in this limited-time playlist.

Expect the Vortex: Decay’s Realm Event to launch alongside this limited-time mode.

Modern Warfare III Season 2: Zombies Overview

MODERN WARFARE ZOMBIES OVERVIEW

CONTENT SUMMARY:
  • The Dark Aether Story Act Continues: Operation Deadbolt Strike Teams are tasked to confront a new anomaly in the Exclusion Zone.
  • Enter the Second Rift: Face down the largest infested Stronghold you’ve encountered as you enter a new and terrifying Rift.
  • New Challenges and Schematics: Unlock Prestige levels to acquire Zombies challenges and gather three new Schematics to aid your progress.
  • Warlord Keres: An elusive chemical warfare specialist, Keres has set up some impressive defenses at the Killhouse in the Orlov Military Base. Prepare effectively before attempting to take her out.

The Dark Aether Story Act Continues (Mid-Season)

In Season 2, Strike Teams from Operation Deadbolt continue to confront terrifying trans-dimensional anomalies. New secrets await in the Exclusion Zone and tensions are heightened this time, as Terminus Outcomes have followed your teams into the Rift. Thankfully, you have an expert guiding you — Sergei Ravenov. Battle alongside the rest of the squad, completing a series of dangerous tasks, and find your way out of the Dark Aether — before it’s too late.

Enter the Second Rift (Mid-Season)

A new Story Mission with new terrors lurking within the Dark Aether await you. You will utilize a variety of [[REDACTED]] during the investigation of a second Rift. Alarming aberrations abound in this new maze, as a mysterious entity makes her presence known to Ravenov and the team while they frantically search for an exit from the Rift. Earn coveted rewards, follow cryptic clues, and complete timed tasks, all while facing down the largest infested Stronghold yet seen!

New Challenges and Schematics (Mid-Season)

As with Season 1, your Prestige Player Level unlocks more challenges to complete, with additional Calling Cards to unlock. Furthermore, expect a new Warlord to face and the following new Classified Schematics:

Mags of Holding (Schematic)

Who has time to reload? Not you if you’ve activated the Mags of Holding, which allows your ammunition to feed directly from your weapon’s ammo stash, essentially eliminating the need to reload your weapon.

Blood Burner Key (Schematic)

There’s no need to scavenge for the Blood Burner Wonder Vehicle on the map if you’re carrying the Blood Burner Key; simply use it to summon the possessed two-wheeler without a lengthy search beforehand!

V-R11 Wonder Weapon (Schematic)

Those Strike Team Operators planning on forming their own temporary regiment of undead friends or transformed humans can now take the V-R11 Wonder Weapon into important outings, thanks to this Schematic.

Warlord: Keres (Mid-Season)

The Warlord Keres has set up her fortress in the Killhouse at Orlov Military Base. She is known as a deadly and elusive chemical warfare specialist, and her defenses should be approached with extreme caution. Expect the exterior to be well-fortified with soldiers, snipers, turrets, and traps, as well as poison gas grenades. It would be wise to bring gas masks.

Breaching the fortress is only the first challenge. Once inside, expect visibility issues, as Keres’ new gas compound hangs in the air throughout the facility, disrupting almost all sensors, including thermal weapon scopes. Perhaps there’s a way to counteract this? Expect Keres to utilize conventional armaments as well as a poisonous smokescreen, counting on her numerous bioweapons to choke you out. It’s going to take teamwork to box her in and eliminate her.

Modern Warfare III Season 2: Warzone Overview

CALL OF DUTY: WARZONE OVERVIEW

CONTENT SUMMARY:
  • Resurgence Refocused: A new area of operations has opened: Fortune’s Keep. Now that the remains of a massive explosion have torn the island apart, it’s up to you to sweep the area for threats, both human and undead!
  • Welcome Back to Fortune’s Keep: How has the island changed? We detail each of the 11 initial Points of Interest and the considerable changes contained within.
  • New Gameplay Features: A wealth of new gameplay features are coming to Fortunes Keep, including a limited-time Contract to eradicate Zombie Nests, Zombies power-ups, Extendable Bridges, and a new score Tracker detailing your Squad Wipe Streaks.
  • Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Resurgence: Ranked Play arrives in Fortune’s Keep, with the same fundamentals, and uses the Resurgence rules for the first time. Expect a stack of impressive rewards for your grind, and BR Ranked Play to come later in the year.

Resurgence Refocused, Returning Map: Fortune’s Keep

It’s been decades since the last battles were fought across this historic Mediterranean isle, and although seemingly familiar, Fortune’s Keep holds a great many new secrets. The island has evolved; Konni Group has set up a base of operations, conducting mysterious experiments within a new underground laboratory. Those nefarious activities have now led to a new terror stalking the island; a seemingly unplanned catastrophic event has literally ripped the island apart and set loose an unceasing, undead threat!

Developed by High Moon Studios, Fortune’s Keep is set to become your primary Call of Duty: Warzone destination at launch as you drop into Resurgence matches, challenge the very best players in Resurgence Ranked Play, and join the Horde Hunt Event! Read on for a full exploration and new gameplay features.

Check out the Events section later in this Blog for a full rundown of events coming to Call of Duty: Warzone (and Modern Warfare III).

Maps and Modes (Launch and In-Season)

The arrival of Fortune’s Keep adds to the active Areas of Operation in Call of Duty: Warzone. In addition, expect a variety of modes during Season 2. For more information on launch Playlists, consult the forthcoming Patch Notes on February 7.

Welcome Back to Fortune’s Keep (Launch)

Those Operators who joined Captain Butcher to pillage the island during the Call of Duty®: Vanguard era may find Fortune’s Keep a dichotomy of familiar locales and all-new geographical surprises. Join us as we investigate each of Fortune Keep’s 11 Points of Interest and showcase the changes to expect:

Keep: Rear Dock and Caves (North Coast)

The grandeur of the Keep, with its opulent tapestries, mosaic floors, and gilded throne room, is mostly intact. Look to the north for additional pathways: With the arrival of aquatic vehicles, the steep northern cliffs below the Keep have been modified, adding a rear dock for unloading cargo, along with a rough cargo elevator (now sporting two Ascenders) enabling fast upward travel to the battlements. Under the foundations of the castle is a rock tunnel with openings to the sea, which runs east to west, all offering tactical access to and from the Keep.

Terraces: Fishing Docks and Cliff Paths (Northwest Coast)

The battlements on the western side of the Keep may have seen better days, but the layout is still familiar. To the north along the coast, discover a second pier housing fishing boats and a bait shop. The area north of Terraces has received further construction changes, with Ascenders, additional stairs running along the cliffside, and small cave openings and grottos to traverse. This stretches north of the Graveyard along the coast to the northern tip of the Town POI.

Graveyard (Northwest Coast)

The ancient stone crypts still stand on the small plateau above the Town. You might want to bank on a thorough exploration of this somber spot, not least due to the connecting tunnels burrowing down toward the epicenter of the action!

Town: Helipad (Western Coast)

The coastal town is still as densely packed as you remember, with an old fortress bell tower, brightly hued apartments and stores, and a turret defending the cove from seafaring attackers. Atop the new Police Station on the north side of the cove is a helipad, usually a good spot to locate a Light Helo for airborne maneuvers.

Town: Fissure (Southwestern Coast)

Initial evidence of a sizeable seismic event to hit the island is visible in the southeastern corner of Town, where a sizeable fissure has cut through the earth, splitting a dwelling into two. Tactically, this allows you to investigate the giant crack, leading to multi-level fighting opportunities and an entrance down into the main impact crater to the east.

Overlook: Restaurant (Southwestern Coast)

East of Overlook (a fortified plateau with an old, multi-floor dwelling and Salty’s Snack Bar attached to it), on a slightly lower plateau overlooking the sea, is the Trattoria Il Luna, a newly constructed restaurant instead of the shack and military tents that used to be here. The eatery offers more than great views across the south of the island; there’s exterior access to tunnels below the cliffs.

Konni Outpost (Bay, Northeastern Coast)

Once a seldom-visited locale, the old Bay POI now gives Operators their first clue to the faction behind the island’s partial collapse. Konni Group has established a small outpost here, complete with a mechanic’s garage, several small server and monitoring rooms, and a storage cave with Ascender access to the Keep’s eastern perimeter.

Pier (Camp, Southeastern Coast)

Once a military camp with tents and a small watchtower, significant construction has since modified the southeastern coast into a pier and Tasting Room for the adjacent Winery, as well as a Rohan Oil Gas Station and convenience store.

Lighthouse (Southeastern Coast)

While Smuggler’s Cove has seen cataclysmic damage, the initially alarming cracks along the exterior of the old lighthouse haven’t toppled the structure yet.

Winery (East)

The chateau specializing in fine wines has seen better days, with massive structural problems visible across the premises. This includes a giant crack through the central courtyard, allowing a novel access into the now-flooded wine cellar. Perhaps that water can be drained? The old chapel, now used as storage for the vast fermenting casks, has lost its tower, which lies in three sizeable chunks.

Gatehouse (Center)

The true extent of the damage caused by an apparent colossal subterranean explosion is most visible when investigating the Keep Gatehouse in the center of the map. The ramparts, multiple turrets, the arched entrance, and the barbican (the circular outer defensive tower) has sustained major damage, with the barbican itself sinking into the unstable ground below.

Ground Zero (Grotto, South Coast)

Almost unprecedented destruction by the Konni Group has wiped an original point of interest off the map. The Grotto is now a deep crater, with portions of the island, including main roads and buildings, all sunken or fallen into a vast crevasse. The resulting wreckage should be explored as a matter of urgency, as the epicenter of the crater has been revealed to be a large Konni laboratory with a snaking network of corridors, chambers, and tunnels.

New Gameplay Features

Expect the following new gameplay features to appear on Fortune’s Keep, within the launch window of Season 2:

Zombie Nests and Eradication Contract (Limited-Time, Launch)

Operators should be aware that recent seismic events may be linked to increased undead activity across the island. Therefore, a new and temporary Eradication Contract has been issued to all available Operators: Investigate any corpse you find, following tracks to a Zombie Nest of localized Zombie activity; they are infesting the island! Destroy the cysts, and any Zombie HVTs before the Contract completes. The exact type of HVT may change depending on time and other factors.

Rogue Signal Public Event (Limited-Time, Launch)

Within a match, expect the Rogue Signal competitive Public Event to periodically appear, pitting you against other Operators and teams in a 90-second objective-based mission. There’s Cash, XP, and a special unique Reward Cache on the line. After a notification appears, expect a new HUD element with an objective, a scoreboard, and your (or your team’s) placement compared to your rivals. The steps to completion are as follows:
  • Receive Objective: All teams receive the same task. Examples include “Get the most kills,” “Deal the most damage to players,” or “Open the most caches.”
  • Complete Objective: All teams can optionally complete the objective within the following 90 seconds. The top three teams receive cash prizes of varying amounts and the location of the special Reward Cache.
  • Claim Reward: The Reward Cache remains locked for the next 30 seconds. Whichever team opens the Cache first receives the reward. Rewards are randomized, don’t remain with you after the match, and for Season 2 can include [[REDACTED]], a Wonder Weapon from MWZ, and [[REDACTED]].

Zombies Power-Ups (Limited-Time, Launch)

A selection of Zombies-based power-ups are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone for a limited time, buffing your Operator in addition to the Perks you’ve already chosen! Seven Zombies power-ups (four familiar and three brand-new) are available across the map and are found by opening certain caches or eliminating rival Operators. These power-ups are instantly familiar — look for the hovering glowing objects and move into them to automatically collect them. But what powers can you expect to wield? Glad you asked:
  • Double Points: 60-second duration. Doubles Plunder from ground loot and kills, and score events in Resurgence (that contribute to teammate respawn timers).
  • Full Armor: Instant buff. Fully fills your active Armor slots on pickup.
  • Max Ammo: Instant buff. Fully fills ammo for all your carried weapons on pickup.
  • Fire Sale: 90-second duration. Reduces the price of all shop items for a small duration of time.
  • Looting Spree: 60-second duration. Adds bonus items to caches, with a very high chance of a bonus Common item, and a small but significant chance of an additional Legendary item.
  • Zarkour: 60-second duration. Increases movement speed by around 25%, with infinite Tactical Sprint and Reloading while Sprinting, and disables Fall Damage.
  • Undead Sight: 45-second duration. Operators or AI enemies within the range of your vision are highlighted red and friendly squadmates are blue. Tracker footsteps are active.

Note: Expect possible powerup durations to be adjusted during the Season.

Extendable Bridges (Launch)

In the aftermath of the Fortune’s Keep explosion, surviving Konni Group forces surveyed the damage and soon constructed three Extendable Bridges over gaps in the fallen roadways. These are not portable, but rather you can extend or retract them across a gap in the road by using a small control console, one on either side of the bridge. The controls react to more than melee interaction, in case you’re wanting to activate the bridge at range. Use these bridges tactically, retracting them to prevent Operator and vehicle access, though withdrawn bridges form ramps resulting in spectacular airborne soaring . . . or a misjudged death plummet into the fissure below!

Fortune Favors the Bold (Launch)

Operators with previous Fortune’s Keep combat experience know that even a Konni explosion won’t have dislodged all the secrets this island has to offer. Latest intel confirms Wonder Weapons with limited ammunition support and no restock options can be acquired under certain circumstances, [[REDACTED]] available via several [[REDACTED]]. Multiple [[REDACTED]] are also active throughout the area of operations.

New Tracker: Squad Wipe Streaks (Launch)

Elite players looking to challenge themselves and their squad have more than just kill counts to brag about with this brand-new Tracker!

Look at the top right of your HUD during Season 2 to see a new “Skull and Sickles” icon next to the remaining teams, players, your kills, and players watching you. This keeps count of your Squad Wipe Streaks total; this represents the number of squad wipes you achieve back-to-back within a set period of time. This is tracked per match and is added to your main stats along with your personal best: Bragging rights confirmed! Here’s how this works:
  • Step 1: Fully eliminate your first team and one point is added to your Squad Wipe total, and the match status HUD (top right) updates with an icon.
  • Step 2: Next to this icon is a countdown bar, giving you (or a squadmate) around 90 seconds to eliminate your next team. If you’re already on a streak, the timer resets.
  • Step 3: Search and eliminate the next team before the countdown bar empties and continue your streak.
    • Note: After each streak, a white flare shoots up from the last enemy player to be slain. Visible for around ten seconds, this enables rival squads to spot your aggression if they’re observant.
  • Step 4: Compete with enemy players or teams to obtain the highest Squad Elimination Streak in a match.
  • Step 5: Claim in-game Calling Card and Emblem rewards as you reach Squad Wipe milestones throughout this and future Seasons.

Note this feature will be disabled in Ranked Play, and remember you’re here to score a personal best, as well as stop rival squads from increasing their streaks, too.

Additional Features (Mid-Season)

Research Vessel (Mobile Point of Interest): A large pontoon-style watercraft has been rumored to appear in the waters off the coast of Fortune’s Keep, later in the season. Certain to draw attention, the craft is large enough for combat to take place across the deck. The ship comes with its own helipad, Ascenders, and a variety of countermeasures and [[REDACTED]] to discover.

Bunker Buster (Killstreak): Use binoculars to designate a target structure. This Lethal Killstreak launches a missile that vertically decimates a building through multiple floors, hopefully clearing out foes hiding inside. The impact creates a long column of gas designed to force surviving enemies out of cover.

Portable Decontamination Station (Field Upgrade): We’ve said it before, but we actually mean it this time — an improved version of the Portable Decontamination Station (PDS, also known as the Personal Decontamination Station) Field Upgrade joins the loot pool at mid-season, emitting a cloud of chemicals that counteract the corrosive properties of the circle gas, creating a temporary safe zone. Expect to deploy this to the ground, in water, on a platform, vehicle, and close to a Buy Station to reactivate it.

Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Resurgence (Launch Window)

Ranked Play arrives in Call of Duty: Warzone, taking place in Fortune’s Keep and using the Resurgence rules for the first time. The fundamentals are the same — fight your way toward the Top 250 Leaderboard and earn Ranked Plays as you progress — but there are alterations and innovations to be aware of, as discussed below.

This is the first of the Ranked Play modes to come to Call of Duty: Warzone. Battle Royale players should expect a Ranked Play experience to return later in the year.

Resurgence Ranked Play: The Basics

Ranked Play Resurgence is the official competitive Call of Duty: Warzone experience. Players must be at least Level 55 to access this mode. Here are the initial match parameters:

Party Size: Trios

Map: Fortune’s Keep

Game Mode: Resurgence

Public Event restrictions: Yes (Firesale and Restock happen at fixed circles. No other Public Events are available)

Vehicle restrictions: Yes (e.g., No Turreted Vehicles)

Restricted gameplay elements: Yes

Buy Station Inventory Adjustments: Yes

The ranking system used here is very similar to that in Modern Warfare III Multiplayer. Learn more about that here.

Skill Divisions

As before, there are seven standard Skill Divisions (SD). You begin at Bronze I when Ranked Play launches in Season 2, and you earn a Skill Rating (SR) based on your match performance. Your SD/SR from last year will not carry over.
  • This is related to Placement, Kills, Assists, and Kills by your squad.
  • The SR Points earned are increased based on the number of enemy squads remaining in your match, as usual.
  • A Deployment Fee is deducted from your SR total at the start of each match once you reach Silver I Skill Division, and that fee increases the higher your Skill Division Tier is.
  • At the end of each Season, you are set back three Tiers below where you finished in the previous season.
  • Players Crimson II and above will be set back to Diamond I.
  • SR Forgiveness, Demotion Protection, Squad Backout, Match Cancelling, and Suspensions are all included in this Mode, and RICOCHET Anti-Cheat™ will be enforcing a zero-tolerance policy related to cheating.

Ranked Mode Resurgence: Alterations and Innovations

While the basics of Ranked Play remain familiar, several changes and innovations have been introduced to adjust the rules as they relate to Resurgence and to add some additional benefits to your grind. Here’s how this all breaks down:

Alteration — Rank Progression: As before, players progress their Skill Rating (“Rank”) by earning Stars, with up to three Stars being earnable per match. These placement Stars are adjusted for the lower squad count, as follows:

Place in the Top 8 of Squads: One Star

Place in the Top 5 of Squads: Two Stars

Finish 1st: Three Stars

Alteration — SR Placement: Tuning adjustments have occurred due to the lower squad count and faster Resurgence playstyle, resulting in the following SR rewards:

Teams Remaining: 14: SR = 0

Teams Remaining: 10: SR = 15

Teams Remaining: 8: SR = 30

Teams Remaining: 6: SR = 45

Teams Remaining: 5: SR = 60

Teams Remaining: 4: SR = 80

Teams Remaining: 3: SR = 100

Teams Remaining: 2: SR = 125

Teams Remaining: 1: SR = 150

Alteration — SR for Kills and Assists: The SR you receive for Kills and Assists has been tuned based on the lower number of teams remaining:

Teams Remaining: 9+: SR Per Kill/Assist = 5. SR Per Non-Assisted Kill = 2.

Teams Remaining: 8: SR Per Kill/Assist = 7. SR Per Non-Assisted Kill = 3.

Teams Remaining: 3: SR Per Kill/Assist = 15. SR Per Non-Assisted Kill = 7.

SR Deployment Fees per Match: This is unchanged.

New — Seasonal SR Challenges: Begin each Ranked Play Season strong, and ensure you rank your way out of early Divisions rapidly by earning bonus SR Rewards for completing Challenges. Visible in the front-end menus, the following Challenges can be completed once per Season:

First Kill or Assist: +100 SR

10 Kills or Assists: +100 SR

25 Kills or Assists: +100 SR

50 Kills or Assists: +100 SR

100 Kills or Assists: +100 SR

Reach Top 8 Squad: +100 SR

Reach Top 5 Squad: +100 SR

Reach Top 3 Squad: +100 SR

Win a Match: +200 SR

Altered — Ranked Challenges: The Seasonal Kill and Placement Challenges you should be familiar with have received an adjustment due to the faster pace and lower squad count of Resurgence. Expect these Ranked Play Challenges (with the rewards detailed):

Finish in the Top 8, 25 times: “Melted” Large Decal.

Finish in the Top 5, 10 times: “Pro Issue” Striker SMG Blueprint.

Finish 1st: “Popped Off” Charm.

Get 50 Kills or Assists: “WZ Season 2 Competitor” Sticker.

Get 250 Kills or Assists: “WZ Ranked Play Season 2” Loading Screen.

Get 1,000 Kills or Assists: “WZ Season 2 Ranked Veteran” Weapon Camo.

New — SR Death Fees: Beginning at Silver I, Death Fees become active in matches. They are designed to highlight specific survival by a single player within a squad. A Death Fee deducts a small amount of SR each time you die in a match. Resurgence allows for multiple deaths per match, but a skilled Ranked Player’s focus on each match should be to place high, with high kills and low deaths.

Protect your life and play to win in Ranked Play Resurgence! Note you cannot lose more SR than your match Deployment Fee:

Example 1: A Player has a –100 Deployment Fee and a –15 Death Fee. They are at –100 (as they haven’t scored any Kills or Assists yet) and die. No Death Fee is deducted.

Example 2: A Player has a –100 Deployment Fee and a –15 Death Fee. They are currently at –90 SR (as they’ve added +10 to their points), but then they die. A Death Fee is applied but only a portion; they lose –10 SR and are back at their starting Deployment Fee.

Altered — Rejoining and Match Cancelling: Players will not be redeployed if they become disconnected but will remain in the match. Additionally, at least three squads must remain in a match for a disconnected player to rejoin. Matches can be canceled during the pre-lobby once the player count drops below 13 squads.

Season 2 Ranked Play Rewards

What about the rewards on offer? Aside from the challenge rewards listed above, expect an impressive selection of unlockables, all unique and separate from the Modern Warfare III Multiplayer Ranked Play.

Rank Rewards: Earn up to three Rank Stars per match, with unlocks at every five Ranks, including the following:

Rank 5: Calling Card and “Sweat Buggy” Vehicle Skin.

Rank 15: Calling Card and “Carrying the Squad” Weapon Sticker.

The mid-season update brings an all-new 6v6 Multiplayer map and game modes, plus the introduction of Multiplayer Ranked Play. Take on the Champion’s Quest and a new Gulag Public Event in Call of Duty: Warzone and battle a new Warlord in Zombies.

Alongside two new weapons, The Boys limited time Multiplayer mode and Event Challenge, there’s plenty to look forward to when Season 1 Reloaded launches on January 17 at 9AM PT across all platforms.

Expect Patch Notes from Sledgehammer Games to be available prior to the release of Season 1 Reloaded.

Here’s what’s coming:

MODERN WARFARE III OVERVIEW

  • New 6v6 Multiplayer Map. Deploy to Rio, a new Core map that challenges Operators to a street fight in an upscale shopping center.
  • Introducing Team Gunfight, Infected, Headquarters. Compete across three new Multiplayer modes.
  • The Boys LTM and Challenge Event. Experience a Supe’d Up version of Kill Confirmed featuring power boosts and earn in-game rewards for completing tasks in The Boys: Supe Siege Event Challenge.
  • Multiplayer Ranked Play. Fight like the pros and rise through the Ranks and Skill Divisions in 4v4 competitive play featuring the same ruleset used by the Call of Duty League.

New 6v6 Map: Rio

Rio (6v6)

Deploy to an upscale shopping center in Rio de Janeiro in a new medium-sized 6v6 Multiplayer map featuring a central indoor mall surrounded by Main Street, a tram station, a market, a plaza and café, and residential spaces. Use the covered walkway to get above your enemies or take cover near an armored vehicle when fighting on street level. The mall itself rises toward the middle, so watch for enemies playing king of the hill on approach.

New Modes: Team Gunfight, Headquarters, Infected

Team Gunfight: Experience Gunfight on a larger scale. In this version, players compete in 6v6 across standard Multiplayer maps. As with traditional Gunfight, all players will receive the same randomized Loadout at the start of each round. This Loadout changes throughout the match. Adapt to what you’re given and wipe out the competition.

Headquarters: Secure the Headquarters objective and hold the position as long as possible to accrue points. Dig in tight, as respawns are disabled for the defending team. The objective rotates around the map throughout the match, so be ready to change your position on the fly.

Infected: Begin the match with one player randomly assigned as the starting infected. The infected player’s goal is to eliminate and transform all the other players into infected Operators who then join their side, while the remaining survivors must use their best skills and strategies to keep the infected at bay.

The Boys LTM and Event Challenge

Compete in a new Supe’d Up version of Kill Confirmed inspired by the hit TV series The Boys. In this twist on the classic mode, fallen Operators drop doses of Temp V, giving temporary power boosts like Heat Vision to those who swoop in to collect them.

The Boys: Supe Siege

Prove that you belong with the Supes by completing six challenges in The Boys: Supe Siege Event Challenge. The challenges are as follows:
  • Get one Operator Heat Vision elimination in The Boys mode (Reward: Calling Card).
  • Deactivate 20 pieces of Equipment using DDoS (Reward: Emblem).
  • Get four Operator eliminations using the MTZ-762 (Reward: Battle Pass Tier Skip).
  • Get two Operator eliminations in a single life with the Overkill Vest equipped, five times (Reward: Large Decal).
  • Get 15 Operator Akimbo eliminations (Reward: Weapon Charm).
  • Get seven Operator eliminations using Lethal Equipment (Reward: Double XP Token).

Mastery Reward: Complete all six challenges to earn “The Boys Special” LMG Weapon Blueprint featuring four attachments, equipped with a whopping 150-round drum and incendiary ammunition for aggressive suppressive fire.

Clutch Up! Multiplayer Ranked Play Is Here

Season 1 Reloaded introduces Multiplayer Ranked Play to Modern Warfare III. Play like the pros in competitive 4v4 matches using the same settings, maps, and modes as the Call of Duty League (CDL).

Ranked Play becomes available after players reach at least Level 55. All unrestricted gameplay items are unlocked for use in Ranked Play, regardless of how much you’ve previously unlocked. Some weapons, Killstreaks, Equipment, and gameplay content are restricted in Ranked Play to match CDL competitive rules. And watch your aim! Friendly Fire is enabled in all Ranked Play matches.

Rank: You will begin at Rank 1. Your rank represents your Ranked Career. Win matches to earn stars and rank up. Rank is permanent and persists across seasons.

Skill Division: You will start your first Season in Bronze I. Advance through 8 Skill Divisions and Tiers by earning SR (Skill Rating). SR is awarded when you win based on personal and team performance. In subsequent seasons, you will be dropped back three Tiers. The highest Skill Division you can start a new season in is Diamond I.

Note that SR penalties will result from being inactive, disconnecting from matches, and engaging in repeated friendly fire.

Hot Streak: Win three matches in a row to earn a flaming rank. Continue winning to progress the Hot Streak flames. The flames expire if you lose or after 72 hours.

Ranked Play Maps and Modes

CDL Search & Destroy: No respawning; 1.5-minute round timer; Friendly Fire enabled. Supported maps include Highrise, Invasion, Karachi, Skidrow, and Terminal.

CDL Hardpoint: 5-minute time limit; 250 score limit; 60-second objective rotation; Friendly Fire enabled. Supported maps include Invasion, Karachi, Skidrow, Sub Base, and Terminal.

CDL Control: 30 lives per team; 1.5-minute time limit; 3-round win limit; Friendly Fire enabled. Supported maps include Highrise, Invasion, and Karachi.

Season 1 Ranked Play Rewards

Season 1 Skill Division Rewards

While the above rewards are earned in-season after winning a certain number of matches, the Skill Division rewards are handed out at the end of the season based on your best Skill Division obtained during that time.

Bronze & Silver: Players who reach the Bronze or Silver Skill Division will be awarded with an accompanying “Season 1” Emblem.

Gold through Crimson: Players who reach Gold through Crimson will also receive new Ranked Play–themed Operator Skins and Weapon Charms in addition to the Skill Division Animated Emblem reward.

ZOMBIES OVERVIEW

  • Take on a New Warlord. A new Warlord enters the Exclusion Zone in the form of South Korean–born Dokkaebi. Defeat her if you can to earn high-tier loot.

New Warlord: Dokkaebi

Prepare for a new challenge in the form of South Korean–born Dokkaebi. A key lieutenant within Terminus Outcomes, Dokkaebi boasts a deep understanding of electronic warfare with access to a fleet of self-programmed autonomous drones ready to attack Operator Deadbolt Operatives on sight.

Operators will find Dokkaebi’s fortress at the top of the skyscraper in Zaravan City. A technological savant, the Warlord uses drones, turrets, and a Wheelson as her main line of defense. Squads skilled enough to get past her initial defenses will find an elusive opponent equally capable of evasion and attack.

CALL OF DUTY: WARZONE OVERVIEW

  • Attempt the Champion’s Quest. The Champion’s Quest returns with a brand-new quest for Urzikstan. Complete the multi-part challenge to instigate a devastating end game.
  • Gulag Night Vision Public Event: Battle in the dark using night-vision goggles in this Public Event that cuts the lights in the Gulag.
  • Grab the Weapon Case. A new Weapon Case objective is available for the first time in Battle Royale! Players can now battle over a single Weapon Case hidden in a search area at the start of every match to spice up the early game.
  • A New Way to Escape: Players can now exfil the match early with the help of a Covert Exfil, offering a new win condition for those able to pay the price for the ride out – if you can secure it!

Take on the Champion’s Quest in Urzikstan

The infamous Champion’s Quest makes its debut in Urzikstan, challenging players with a new high-level task that will test all your squad’s collective skills in an attempt to witness an explosive finale. The first step? Win 30 games total within a season OR five consecutive matches. Complete that and the next steps will fall into place. Only the most elite squads need apply.

New NVG Gulag Public Event

In this new Gulag Public Event, the lights in the Gulag will go out, setting up an epic night-vision battle that will put your fighting abilities to the test. Secure the win to return to the match and leave your opponent in the dark.

Gear Up with the Weapon Case

A single Weapon Case spawns in a small search area at the start of every match. Once found, the player holding the Weapon Case is marked for all enemies in the match. If a player holding the case manages to stay alive at the end of the match OR their squad exits the match using a helicopter called in by purchasing a Covert Exfil, they and their teammates earn exclusive rewards.

Secondary Win Condition: Covert Exfil

Speaking of Covert Exfil, players can now exfil the match early with the help of a Covert Exfil. With only five exfils available to purchase per match — for a high price — in Buy Stations before the Gulag closes, a Covert Exfil calls in a helicopter that can fly any player out of the match, ideally with the Weapon Case in their possession. Players can also compete to earn the most successful Covert Exfils with the new Covert Exfil leaderboard stat.
