  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery
    • If a player gets kicked for going AFK for too long in a co-op game, their loadout, Essence, and Salvage will now be restored after they rejoin the match in progress.

Incoming Call of Duty: Warzone Updates

As announced in the recent Community Updates blog, we’ve made the decision to prioritize focus on gameplay tuning, adding more quality of life improvements, and addressing ongoing bugs. This means that in order to deliver meaningful improvements to our players, new content originally planned for Season 02 has been shifted to create bandwidth to address foundational issues. These improvements won’t come all at once – rather, they’ll be staggered across the season and with quite a few quality of life changes coming mid-season. Our priority is having the most solid foundation that Battle Royale can offer and are excited for players to see it all live.

Rest assured, a full selection of content is still accessible, with access to our maps (Area 99, Urzikstan, Rebirth Island) and modes (Battle Royale, Resurgence, Plunder) available at Season 02 launch, and with BR Ranked coming during the launch window. Call of Duty: Warzone players will also be part of The Terminator and Shadow Hunt Events during the first few weeks of the season, and access all the shared Season 02 content, including the new base weapons.

For more details on updates to RICOCHET Anti-Cheat, Call of Duty: Warzone, Multiplayer, and Zombies, click here for the Community Update Blog.

Gameplay, Quality of Life, Bug Fixes, & More

Season 02 of Warzone brings a wave of key updates aimed at tuning gameplay, improving quality of life, and addressing persistent bugs.

Weapon reload and swap speeds, jump mechanics, parachute transitions, and audio clarity have been fine-tuned to bring Battle Royale closer to our intended experience. This extends further with adjustments to default perks, equipment count, and body shield behavior.

We’re also introducing new quality of life updates, including being able to ping buy back flares and improvements to the stat tracker font for better legibility,

Regarding Ranked Play, players will see a refinement to the amount of SR required and adjustments to deployment fees.

To round it all off, we are deploying important bug fixes that target issues with map visibility, weapon interaction, and several perks.

Ultimate Mastery Reward: “Front Man” Operator

Become the leader of the Pink Guards with the “Front Man” Operator. Deploy as the ruthless administrator of the Squid Game and take your team to victory.

Let the Games Begin!

Compete in multiple Squid Game-themed Limited Time Modes across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone. Pay close attention to the rules; your life depends on it!

Red Light, Green Light [MP]

Young-hee is watching, so don’t misstep at the wrong time. Get on the pitch in the Red Card stadium and play three rounds of Red Light, Green Light, each two minutes long. In Round 1, no one gets a weapon. In Round 2 and 3, you can pick up weapons on the ground and eliminate other competitors with melee attacks and Finishing Moves.

There’s just one simple rule: When Young-hee says “Green Light,” the fight is on. Move a muscle after she says “Red Light” and you’re toast.

Pentathlon [MP]

Prove that you have what it takes in the long run by competing in a series of Multiplayer modes to find out who reigns supreme! Play Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint along with two new mode variants: Piggy Bank Team Deathmatch and Roulette. In Piggy Bank TDM, every elimination adds score to the Mega Piggy Bank; fight for possession of the huge payout when it drops part way through the match. In Roulette, one-shot eliminations via the Roulette Handgun award double the points, though with each fired shot there’s a chance it’ll blow up in your hands!

Matches can end in a draw, so fight for every advantage to see that you win.

Squid Game Moshpit [MP]

Fire up the Squid Game Moshpit including Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint with a twist as Operators gain access to three important Squid Game-themed features:

Red Light, Green Light Scorestreak: Is the fight getting too hectic for you? Stop the enemy in their tracks with this Scorestreak that calls “Red Light,” commanding all enemy Operators to stop moving or risk elimination.

Piggy Bank: Eliminated Operators have a chance of dropping a Piggy Bank that awards a small score boost when picked up. For a bigger pay day, watch for the Mega Piggy Bank. Every elimination adds additional score to the Mega Piggy Bank, so once it drops, fight for it to acquire all the deposited score within.

Roulette Handgun: The epitome of high risk, high reward. The Roulette Handgun spawns in the center of the map; grab it to activate a permanent UAV effect while wielding it and land one-shot eliminations against enemies, earning more than double the normal score to help you obtain Scorestreaks more quickly. The catch? Your location will be marked for everyone to see, and every shot has a chance to blow up the weapon, taking you down with it.

Dead Light, Green Light [ZM, Liberty Falls, Citadelle des Morts]

Deploy to Liberty Falls and the new Citadelle des Morts Zombies map to compete in an undead version of the stop-and-go game in Dead Light, Green Light. In the “Green Light” phase, Operators gain a bonus to earned Essence, so rack up the zombie eliminations. Once “Red Light” is called, Essence is drained from any Operator who moves, so spend big before this phase or hang tight to avoid throwing away your hard-earned currency.

And it doesn’t end there. When the dreaded “Dead Light” phase begins, prepare for a tough fight as a meaner wave of enemies approach.

Squid Game — Call of Duty: Warzone [Urzikstan]

Squad up and compete in a rotating series of challenges on Urzikstan that will see only the most hardened competitors emerge victorious. At the end of each round, underperforming squads will be eliminated. Keep your eyes peeled: at any time, a new challenge may trigger a round of Red Light, Green Light. You know what to do.

New Squid Game Store Bundles

Why compete when you can control, spectate, and determine who wins and who loses in the race? Look for new Squid Game-themed Bundles arriving in the Store throughout the Event.

Squid Game 2: Pink Guards Tracer Pack

Keep the games under control with one of three new Operators included in this Bundle: Deploy with the “Masked Manager,” the “Masked Soldier,” or the “Masked Worker.” For close eliminations, take out enemies with the “Winner” Finishing Move.

Enforce the rules with two Weapon Blueprints: the “Game Guard” SMG and the “Rule Master” Assault Rifle. Plus, get the “Enforcer” Emblem, “Bank” Reticle, “Where it Stops” Weapon Charm, “Bank” Reticle, and “Play Time” Calling Card.

Squid Game 2: The VIPs Tracer Pack

Sit back and soak in the spectacle with two VIP-themed Operators, the “Panther Mask VIP” and the “Lion Mask VIP.” Not the humble type concerning their immense wealth, the Bundle also features a variety of rich items, including the “Choicest” Launcher, “Lacquered” Sniper Rifle, and “Satin Slayer” SMG Weapon Blueprints, plus the “Death Plated” Frag Grenade Equipment Skin.

For a classier finish, end them with the “Pinky Up” Finishing Move, and never let them forget your elite status by equipping the “Gilded” Emblem, “List Required” Calling Card, and “Very Important Player” Loading Screen.

Squid Game 2: Young-hee Tracer Pack

Punish the enemy’s every move with the “Young-hee” Operator, accompanied by the “Don’t Move” Assault Rifle and “The Curator” Marksman Rifle Weapon Blueprints, and the “Hit Pause” Finishing Move for close-ranged eliminations.

Young-hee watches their every move; keep them in line by also equipping the “She Watches” Emblem, “Lethal Look” Large Decal, “Stay Still” Spray, “Under Her Gaze” Calling Card, and the “Uncorked” Emote.

Welcome back to the game. Good luck.

Citadelle des Morts

One of Avalon’s oldest landmarks, the Citadel is shunned by locals both for its sinister history and because it is a base of operations for the crime family known as the French Syndicate. The castle was established in the 1100s on the site of a leper colony, and construction was completed a century later. In the 1300s, the renegade knight Guy de Saint Michel and his four enforcers took over the fortress and instituted a criminal reign of terror that birthed the Syndicate.

Having withstood medieval sieges and two world wars, the castle’s prominence waned as modern-day Avalon grew and prospered. Now it is closed to the public, housing a Syndicate crew led by a man named Franco whose dealings with Project Janus have brought a dark disaster upon a place already soaked in blood.

Welcome to Citadelle des Morts.

After the events of Terminus, Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey—along with Peck, Raptor One, and Strauss—embark on an expedition to the European principality of Avalon, hoping to rendezvous and ally with a luminary named Gabriel Krafft. There the Operators hope to learn more about an ancient relic known as the “Sentinel Artifact,” which in turn, when its power is harnessed, may be able to save Samantha Maxis from her aethereal imprisonment.

[[ZOMBIES CINEMATIC TRAILER HERE]]

It is an overcast Avalon dawn. A light mist rises from the wet ground, as the crew arrives at the site of the derelict castle. A reunion with an old colleague provides confirmation that S.A.M.'s intel was sound, and that Franco—a local French Syndicate Crime Boss and the focus of Maya's revenge—is on site, with Krafft as his hostage.

Unfortunately, there’s very little time for catching up. Dimensional breaches start to form around the citadel, and a major zombie outbreak threatens to overwhelm and devour the entire team.

This brand-new Zombies map experience launches at the start of Season 01 Reloaded, on Thursday, December 5, at 9AM PT.

Away from the carnage are your Handlers; expect radio contact with Peck, the newest member of the team (Sergei Ravenov), and S.A.M. Raptor One and Oskar Strauss stand ready to provide Exfil services, just so long as Strauss’s incessant fiddling with the helicopter’s instrumentation panels doesn’t kill them both.

Citadelle des Morts: A Hidden History

Before learning of the new ways you can defeat the zombie hordes, it is worth gaining some perspective regarding the history of this place. The Citadel has had many names and roles over many lifetimes:

750 A.D. Abbaye des Oubliés

Earliest records show construction of “The Abbey of the Forgotten.” Serving as a leprosarium—or leper colony—with those afflicted by the horrific disease being cared for by a Benedictine monastic order.

1137 – 1220 A.D. Citadelle de la Reine

Adelaide of Murienne (1092–1154), Queen of France and widow of the recently-deceased Louis VI, begins construction of a keep on the site of the Abbey, which had suffered its first abandonment—after the infamous “leper revolt”—in the preceding decades. At the base of the rock outcropping that the keep sits on, a village to house the hundreds of artisans working on the project begins to take shape. Most of the building materials are scavenged from the structure of the old Abbey. Construction concludes in 1220.

1314 A.D. Relique des Templiers

Jacques du Molay, the last Grandmaster of the Knights Templar, is burned at the stake for heresy in Paris. Surviving members of the order scramble to hide relics gathered during the Crusades. A lone knight rides south, carrying [[REDACTED]], once owned by Abdul [[REDACTED]], said to be able to [[REDACTED]] and even capable of [[REDACTED]] itself! Once at the keep, using a ritual learned from [[REDACTED]] [[REDACTED]], he [[REDACTED]], and Guy de Saint Michel along with his four enforcers ruled [[REDACTED]], the descendants now [[REDACTED]] [[REDACTED]].

Obviously, such [[REDACTED]] is considered apocryphal.

1533 A.D. Nouveau Propriétaire

After Avalon is declared a free state by Papal order, the entire principality is granted to a powerful family now known as the French Syndicate.

1939-1945 A.D. Tombeau des Templiers

Though Avalon stayed neutral during World War II, the Citadelle itself suffered several hits by off-target bombers over the course of the conflict, inflicting major damage to many internal chambers.

Current Day. Citadelle des Morts

Nowadays, the abandoned Citadelle is mostly used by the French Syndicate. A convenient location to make inconvenient problems disappear, and enough off the beaten track to serve as a depot for their illicit smuggling and narcotic manufacturing activities.

Citadelle des Morts: Recon Tour

A recent initial survey of the fortification and its vicinity reveals the first details regarding possible exploration choices. What additional secrets could this castle contain?

Town Square

The central hub of the fortified village sitting below the main castle parapets, this square—which appears to have suffered recent damage centered around a vehicle fire—is dominated by a fountain with a large and imposing stone statue. To the southeast is an impressive example of a medieval bell tower, and a portcullis gate on opposing walls offer two ways to explore further. Directly across is access to the Tavern.

Tavern and Cellar

From casks of ale to expensive bottles of rouge and blanc wines, Le Maison de Macon (Mason’s House) used to offer a tranquil and authentic pub experience. Inside, the L-shaped ground floor features a banquet table, impressively large wooden bar, plenty of booth and table seating, and a mezzanine games room with a pool table. The restrooms are most definitely out of order.

Village Ascent and Upper Village

Shafts of sunlight are beginning to pierce the fog-filled alleyways of the village, casting light on the vile aftermath of a zombie incursion. Blood seeps into the cobblestone streets, and the main path ascends from the lower gate to a small forecourt and well (it may be pointless wishing for good luck).

Nature Path and Hilltop

Open the western gate, and an alternate path to the ramparts can be ascended, though there’s nothing natural about the inhabitants encroaching on this farmyard trail. Pass the ruins of a tower, and a stone barn and stables, the animals long-since bolted. Climb past the tiered stone buttress walls to the Hilltop, offering once-idyllic, now horrific views of the castle, surrounding fields, and encroaching shamblers.

Citadelle Courtyard, Village, and Hillside Ramparts

Ivy snakes around the grand entrance edifices, and the interior of the keep seems firmly sealed. Explore either of the ramparts before venturing onto the outer battlements of the castle. It’s here you’ll discover an ornate and fearsome cannon, sculpted into the head of a roaring lion.

Entrance Hall

Entering the citadel, an imposing, cathedral-like entrance vestibule beckons, once resplendent with tapestries and torches, now only crumbling walls and graffiti-daubed alcoves remain. A central stone staircase leads to a carved dragon bust, under what was once the castle’s coat of arms. Both petroleum lamps and construction floodlights bathe the hall in an eerie glow and hint at the horrors ahead.

Sitting Rooms

Another impressively sized room within the citadel, the interior walls are seemingly unstable and held together by scaffold poles and luck. Past the perimeter torches, the chamber shows evidence of recent activity with bunk beds and desks sitting next to an ancient wood-carved fireplace.

Dining Hall

Ideally any feasting going on in this derelict chamber won’t feature your own entrails as the main course, though there are many nooks, balconies, and entrances to be caught unawares during an undead ambush. The Main Hall remains an imposing chamber to explore, despite the complete collapse of its ceiling – likely caused by the unexploded WW2 bomb – that now protrudes from the pile of rubble at its center.

Dungeon

In the deepest, darkest levels of this fortress is a place of torture, and the surgical blades, thick chains, car batteries, lump hammers, and chairs with restraint harnesses suggest this despicable practice has continued into modern times. The French Syndicate have a rudimentary communications set up here along with generators and a basic bookkeeping desk. Perhaps they’re logging the prisoners kept in the filthy jail cells that span the outer walls of this disturbing place.

Undercroft and Oubliette Room

A vaulted ceiling in the subterranean cellars of the castle is leaking what you hope is just rainwater, partially flooding the lowest levels of the place, and this crypt is perhaps a location one doesn’t linger at for long. Old paintings, strange statuary, stacked gravestones, and an impromptu game of chess, now fully concluded if the state of the players is anything to go by.

Deeper still within the Dungeon lie secrets better left forgotten. A lower dungeon—or Oubliette—provides damp and damning discoveries, and the earthen-floored chamber contains shelves of chemicals, barrels of hazardous materials, and a table where illicit drug manufacturing appears to be under way.

New Enemy Sighted: Doppelghast

Roughly translated as double horror from the original German and old English respectively, these tormented ghouls are pale imitations of something that looks human but most certainly isn’t, not least because the entity sports two screaming skulls, rotting flesh stretched across each of them, seared into a sinewy and pockmarked torso of pallid gray skin, tendrils and protruding entrails.

Serving as the next stage in the evolutionary chain of Dark Aether metamorphosis, Doppelghasts are violent and display erratic and unsettling movement, as if each head is independently fighting for control of its body. It lurches, randomly knots itself up to perform fast and unexpected maneuvers and tends to outrun its lesser brethren using its powerful, elongated feet.

Though hunched and twisted, Doppelghasts are still one-and-a-half times as tall as most humans. They prefer to launch from the shadows or emerge from a horde of lesser undead. It is wise not to underestimate the creature’s abilities when cornered. Aside from rapid melee strikes, where it lashes out with its many tendrils and appendages, it can burst forth an array of sharp, bloody needles to disrupt incoming attacks. If they pierce flesh, the needles cause not only lacerating damage but attack the target’s nervous system, leading to hallucinations.

Should a weak point be discovered and a Doppelghast finally succumbs, you may want to stand back as the final explosion of blood and gore is as revolting as it is spectacular.

Other Entities of the Citadelle

The packs of lesser undead roaming the environment are mainly comprised of local townsfolk, farmers, and laborers, now in various stages of decomposition, with tougher enemies occasionally sporting French Syndicate insignia on their blood-soaked attire.

Additional entities observed within the vicinity of the castle include scuttling Vermin, airborne Parasites, and grotesque appendage-flailing behemoths known as Amalgams.

New Wonder Weapons: The Bastard Sword‘s Elemental Forms

While its exact nature is shrouded in mystery, it appears that four powerful elemental weapons may be forged from a claymore known as The Bastard Sword through unknown means.

The Bastard Sword itself is a formidable melee weapon, splitting the filth-filled undead into cleaved chunks with a devastating slash, along with a defensive parry, particularly useful when blocking incoming projectiles. However, this claymore can be transformed into one of four elemental Wonder Weapons, each with a unique and devastating special attack, as well as a passive effect that is powered up over time:

Caliburn: Dragon’s Fire

Create a fiery maelstrom of burning undead flesh, setting zombies alight and summoning an immense fireball.

Durendal: Stag of the Storms

Summon thunderous power from the skies, discharging voltaic power to stun and stagger, before an electrical beam serves up a severe searing.

Balmung: Raven’s Shadow

Cast your rotting foes into the Aetherial abyss, warping nearby enemies with a focused liminal tear.

Solais: Lion of Light

The warmth of Light courses through you as you send foes screaming into darkness.

Citadelle des Morts: Additional Content

Main Quest Active and Quest Rewards: The Main Quest for Citadelle des Morts will be live at the same time as the map launches, on December 5. Complete the Main Quest successfully, and your rewards include the “Jackknife” Operator Skin for Weaver, 5,000 XP, and a unique Calling Card only available by completing the Quest before Directed Mode is released for Citadelle des Morts!

Oil Trap: A medieval method of dissuading attackers storming the outer parapets, overturning huge vats of boiling oil atop a battlement onto a horde of advancing zombies has the exact same end results, made even more potent if a Molotov Cocktail is thrown into the mix…

The Lion Cannon: A giant, ornate bronze lion cannon on a large rotating cog platform dominates the outer battlements of the fortress and provides a spectacular means to enter the keep. What would happen if you climbed inside it?

Syndicate Loot Crates: Evidence of the presence of this group can be seen as you explore the citadel, as they’ve marked some specific crates for their own uses. Those of an inquisitive nature may wish to investigate.

Points of Power: Strange, metallic manhole covers have been discovered in various locations across the map, but none of them seem to lead to any kind of sewer system. Instead, they appear to have another, perhaps otherworldly use…

Additional: Expect a fresh selection of Calling Card Challenges, including Dark Ops Challenges, as well as Intel in the form of Audio Logs, Documents, and Artifacts to discover, throughout your exploration of the Citadelle des Morts.

New Gameplay Content

The following items are also available during the Citadelle des Morts mission, as well as on Terminus and Liberty Falls.

Additional Perk-a-Cola: Vulture Aid

Available for the first time since Black Ops II, consume a can of Vulture Aid Elixir once you find the monstrous avian sculpture of a Perk-A-Cola machine, and you’ll discover an increase in the variety of loot dropped from enemies. • Time Out (Ultra): Lasts three minutes. Clear all Normal and Special enemies and end the Round. Normal spawning will not resume during this time.

Here’s how to unlock the GobbleGums:
  • Power Keg: Unlocked reward as part of the GobbleGum Mania Event.
  • Time Out: Unlocked reward as part of the GobbleGum Mania Event.
  • Holiday Cheer: Primarily unlocked in the Jingle Hells Limited Time Event, potentially whenever you earn GobbleGums by playing. Also unlocked randomly from a successful Exfil. Once acquired, Holiday Cheer GobbleGums can be kept (they do not expire) and used in any of the three available maps. Expect these to be earned even after the Holiday Season.

See the Events section of this blog (below) for full details.

Additional Support Scorestreak: Hand Cannon

Salvage: 1250

Available during The Hit List Event in Season 01 (and in the Armory starting with Season 01 Reloaded for those who missed out), this is a powerful large caliber handgun with high bullet damage and penetration.

Zombies Training Course (Reloaded Launch)

With a host of Weapon Camos, Badges, Calling Cards, and other rewards to earn, it’s well worth jumping into Round-Based Zombies if you haven’t already!

Coming in Season 01 at Reloaded Launch, the Zombies Training Course allows you to learn the basics if you’re a new or casual player or refresh your knowledge if you’re a more seasoned player.

Polish your favorite armament and drop into Liberty Falls where the gruff Arsenal Machine Drill Sergeant gives you tough love as you maneuver to a sequence of different “Station” flags dotted around the map. If you’re unsure how to play this game mode, visit the following stations and learn (and perform) a different aspect about the game.
  • Killing Zombies: Learn how to kill zombies and replenish resources.
  • Map Progression: Learn how to navigate the world and progress rounds.
  • Powering Up Players: Buff your strength and survivability with Perks and Armor.
  • Powering Up Weapons: Increase your lethality with weapon upgrades.
  • Getting New Weapons: Discover methods to acquire new weapons.
  • GobbleGums: Learn how to use GobbleGums for unique power-ups.
  • Exfil: Learn how to exit a match.

Citadelle des Morts: Directed Mode

Once the map has been thoroughly explored by players and the Zombies community, expect to complete the Citadelle des Morts Main Quest with added guidance in Directed Mode prior to the start of Season 02.

Zombies-Related Events (Mid-Season Launch, In-Season)

Zombies players should be ready to drop into a number of Events, one specifically related to Zombies, between Mid-Season launch and the start of January:
  • Event: GobbleGum Mania (ZM only, December 5 – 19).
  • Event: Merry Mayhem (MP, ZM, WZ, December 5 – 19).
  • Event: Archie’s Festival Frenzy (MP, ZM, WZ, December 19 – January 3).

Check out the Events section of this blog (below) for full details.

Jingle Hells (LTM, In-Season)

Deck the Falls with boughs of holly, as the Jingle Hells festive Limited Time Mode returns! Last seen in Black Ops Cold War, Jingle Hells drops you in what could optimistically be called a winter wonderland, as the entirety of the Liberty Falls map is festooned with wreaths, ribbons, twinkling lights, Christmas trees, garlands of fir tree bunting, and a thin blanket of snow. Although, something feels a bit off… not least the melting piles of slush stained with bloody entrails…

The nearby river has frozen over, all the Mystery Boxes, Crafting Tables, and Arsenal Machines have gone missing, and the locals are just as unfriendly as ever. Don’t fret, as you’ll be making your own holiday cheer thanks to some special features found in this game mode:
  • Main Quest is Active! The Main Quest is available to complete this time around, with some added challenge now that the Arsenal and Crafting Tables aren’t around. Note: you’ll earn the standard Main Quest completion rewards if you finish the quest in Jingle Hells.
  • Hear that Jingling? Expect bespoke audio to bring the festive flavor. You might want to look to the skies, too…
  • GobbleGum Gifts: This is the best way to earn the “Holiday Cheer” GobbleGum!
  • Snowball Piles: Gather up to five snowballs from various piles scattered about the map, then use them as potent projectiles!
  • Naughty or Nice Power-Up: This large, floating stocking dishes out presents or spawns Vermin, depending on whether you’ve been naughty or nice.
  • Snowmen: Undeniably jolly, but also fiendishly unfriendly, Liberty Falls has snowmen dotted around the map, and these can hide zombies or loot if left intact. It’s wise to make these your primary targets, especially as they drop handy loot when dispatched.
  • Present Boxes: Under certain circumstances, zombies may drop a small present box, which can be opened for a gift that keeps on giving.
  • S.A.M.T.A. Trials: The Trial computers that appear around the map now have a much more festive appearance. S.A.M.T.A. also has a few present boxes spawning nearby the machine when entering the map, so it’s worth seeking out!
  • Frozen Rounds: There’s strange fog in the air, and during certain rounds you’ll be chilled to the bone, slowing your reactions considerably. Perhaps it’s time to head indoors…

Zombies Gameplay Updates

Treyarch is also implementing several additional gameplay updates with Season 01 Reloaded for high Rounds and Special Rounds. These include:
  • Reducing the number of Mangler spawns at mid-to-high Rounds.
  • Implementing a maximum cap on active Manglers in the game, ramping up until the cap is released at Round 100.
  • Reducing the Mangler’s arm cannon health.
  • Significantly reducing the length of Special Rounds by reducing the number of spawns and adjusting the spawn delay rate for Special Rounds.
  • Scaling Parasite damage between Rounds 31-91.
  • Slightly increasing damage scaling for base zombies at Round 150-400.

Multiplayer Maps

Hacienda

Remaster, Core, 6v6, Medium-Sized

The lush vineyard estate returns under new ownership as Operators descend on the mansion and its immaculate grounds. Fire down on enemies from the gallery and swim past their front line along the Terrace. Traverse the extended hallway overlooking the vineyard—a renovation first introduced in Hacienda Twilight in Black Ops 4—and marvel at the wealth on display in the showroom, the in-office aquarium, and the elegant fountain at the map’s center. Using the new Omnimovement system, Hacienda becomes a whole new experience ripe with tactical opportunities.

Racket

Brand-New, Strike, 2v2/6v6, Small-Sized

The French Syndicate continues with their plans to topple the Luttazzi crime family by hitting them directly in their finances. Battle within the labyrinthine bank vault, dashing in and out of the vault cells to flank enemies in the halls. This new three-lane map requires quick thinking to survive its tight confines, so don’t let all that gold distract you from the mission at hand.

Nuketown Holiday

Variant, Core 6v6, Small-Sized

Good cheer arrives as Nuketown dresses up for the holidays. Get into snowball fights and gawk at the festive decorations lining every surface. On Nuketown Holiday, you can almost forget that you’re in the middle of a battle… albeit one where Operators exchange grenades instead of presents. Good luck out there.

New Festive Limited Time Modes

Indulge your sweet tooth while gaining buffs in Ran-Snack and add a little levity to fighting for your life in Infectious Holiday.

Ran-Snack (Launch)

Trade gold for sweets in this festive LTM that challenges teams to gather and deposit the most cookies. Grab cookies from the rotating crate, fallen Operators, and by breaching the enemy’s cookie box and taking the goods back to your own. In honor of the season of giving, your Operator also earns buffs for depositing cookies, including a speed boost, faster reload, and faster health regen. The first team to reach the Score Limit or have the best score when the Time Limit expires wins.

Infectious Holiday (In-Season)

Even the undead are getting into the holiday spirit as zombies and fallen Operators don festive clothing in this festive twist on the fan-favorite Infected mode.

When playing either of these LTMs on Nuketown Holiday, look for snow piled around the map that you can pick up and throw at enemies for a one-shot elimination!

New Loadout Content

Enhance your explosions with intel-gathering capabilities and grant yourself the gift of an extra Wildcard with two new Loadout items to help carry you through the year.

New Perk

Available: Unlocked reward as part of the Merry Mayhem Event

Perk: Shrapnel Radar

Perk Slot: 3

Type: Recon

Blast damage dealt from area-of-effect Lethals, Tacticals and Field Upgrades mark the injured target on your minimap.

New Wildcard

Call of Duty: Warzone BR Ranked Play (Reloaded Launch Window)

Drop in and back up your talk with the arrival of Battle Royale Ranked Play for Call of Duty: Warzone, the competitive experience returns to Battle Royale. Give it all to be the last squad standing in Urzikstan and earn exclusive Ranked Play rewards for your efforts.

Overview and Features

BR Ranked Play Access: To access BR Ranked Play, players must first place in the Top 15 in Battle Royale or the Top 6 in Resurgence across a total of 30 matches. Placements from Season 01 count toward this requirement.

Updated Rank: The 1-50 Rank and Skill Division system seen in previous versions of BR Ranked Play have been combined into a single Rank, representing what was previously your Skill Division and Tier. Earn SR and progress through 8 Ranks: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crimson, Iridescent, and Top 250.

SR (Skill Rating): Progress through Ranks by earning SR in each match. New this year, SR is earned from your placement and your personal elimination performance. The amount of SR earned from an elimination is now determined by your rank in relation to your opponent. This means more SR’s for killing higher ranked players, and less SR for killing those below you.

Update: Party Skill Restriction: Full squads can party together without restrictions. Matchmaking will be based on the highest ranked player in the squad.

Update: Seasonal Setback: The End-of-Season SR Setback has been adjusted in BR Ranked Play to reduce the impact felt by players early in their Rank journey. Every new season, your Rank may be reset based on where you ended the previous season, as follows:
  • Bronze or Silver Ranked players are not impacted by the Seasonal setback and will be able to pick up where they ended each Season with no SR deduction.
  • Gold or Platinum players will start the next Season in Tier I of Gold or Platinum respectively.
  • Diamond and above players will start the next Season at Diamond I.

Update: Loss Forgiveness: No matter what your Rank, each player’s first loss of the day will be forgiven and not deduct SR. This does not stack. Additionally, the three games of Loss Forgiveness that are granted when you’re promoted to a new Rank or at the start of the season now only count down after Losses.

BR Ranked Play rewards: BR Ranked Play features a variety of unique rewards players can earn to show off their skill and engagement with the mode, including new Operator Skins, Calling Cards, Decals, Emblems, plus a Loading Screen and Sticker:
  • Rank Rewards: Reach Gold Rank or higher to earn special Rank Rewards that are awarded the moment you’re promoted into the Rank instead of at the end of the Season.
  • Win Challenges: Reach Career Win milestones over the course of your Ranked Play career to earn rewards including the base Ranked Operator Skin, Call of Duty: Warzone-themed Weapon Camo, and the “Whisper” Combat Knife Blueprint. These can be completed across multiple seasons.

  • Top 250 Competitor and Top 250 Champion Skin (#1 Overall): Climb to the Top 250 BR Ranked Play leaderboard to earn the “Top Competitor” Operator Skin (Home and Away). The #1 overall player for the season will get the sole privilege of equipping the “Top 250 Champion” Operator Skin.
  • Seasonal Rewards: Each BR Ranked Play Season introduces new Seasonal Rank Rewards to earn. These are only available to be earned during that specific Season. Like the Rank Skins, Seasonal Rank Rewards are awarded as soon as the player is promoted into each Rank instead of at the end of the Season.

New LTMs: Holiday Rush, Slay Ride Resurgence

Throw snowballs at your enemies, fight for loot around decorated trees, and hijack Undead Santa’s ride in these two LTMs arriving in the mid-season.

Holiday Rush (Area 99, Launch)

Enter Area 99, newly outfitted with Deck the Halls trees and Snowball coolers. Get right to the point with access to high-tier loot along with a smaller gas circle and faster transitions between collapses.

Slay Ride Resurgence (Urzikstan, In-Season)

Undead Santa has hijacked the train. Toss deadly snowballs, capture trees, hunt reindeer, and battle for control of Santa’s Slay Ride. Last team standing wins.

New Perk

Perk: Reflexes

Perk Slot: 1

Available: Season 01 Reloaded Reward

Rush enemy positions without getting caught in a trap. With this Perk equipped, triggered explosives detonate on a delay when sprinting past them.

RICOCHET Anti-Cheat™ Progress Report: Season 01 and Ranked Play

Season 01 arrives later this week with Ranked Play launching in Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 on November 21. The team behind RICOCHET Anti-Cheat is actively monitoring systems, preventing and removing cheaters, and prepping new systems to make Ranked Play a fair and fun experience.

Before we look forward, let’s share how our launch systems have fared and share insights we’ve learned in the weeks since Black Ops 6 went live across the globe on October 25.

Black Ops 6 Launch Details and Data

In-game reporting and internal data show that the upgrades made to RICOCHET Anti-Cheat’s systems for launch have stood up strongly against cheaters. Several systems we’ve deployed, including those in secret that were designed only to monitor data to ensure the effectiveness of upcoming detections, have been performing beyond expectation across behavioral and identification measures.

For example, a new behavioral model to analyze for anomalous skill has recorded and categorized over 4.4 million data points per hour at its peak. This information feeds into a system that examines both authentic play and cheaters to better suss out bad actors based on how they play — flagging accounts for human review and potential action.

As of last week, and since the launch of Black Ops 6, RICOCHET Anti-Cheat systems intervened in over 582,000 matches to remove suspicious accounts before they could win, as well as removing thousands of accounts before they played a single game.

For more on in-game updates, make sure to check out the official Patch Notes section on CallofDuty.com.

Ranked Play Security Updates

In preparation for Ranked Play going live on November 21 for Black Ops 6, Treyarch has helped deliver several updates to combat disruptive behavior. These updates include enhanced AFK detections to battle against account boosting – one of several measures to combat boosting – and adjusting ping thresholds to require players play matches in their region to cut down on VPN abuse.

To unlock Ranked Play in Black Ops 6, players will need to win 50 match-made multiplayer matches. This ensures that they're experienced with multiplayer before they enter the mode and gives #TeamRICOCHET a historical match history to examine before an account enters Ranked Play.

RICOCHET Anti-Cheat also uses its Replay Investigation Tool, with the ability to watch any completed match, to monitor replays of top players as part of its investigation process.

For additional security, a change coming to Ranked Play is to add a manual review to any account rename requests for players at Crimson rank or higher.

The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat team will also turn on systems that were initially deployed at launch to only collect data and test the effectiveness of the detections, as mentioned in the launch recap. Now that we have determined these systems are ready, they will go live with Season 01 to help flag accounts for action.

The security system updates listed above will also be active for Ranked Play in Call of Duty®: Warzone™, which launches at mid-season.

Policy Updates

The Call of Duty Security and Enforcement Policy has added new language about Call of Duty (COD) Points Acquired Fraudulently.

Users that are found to have acquired COD Points via fraudulent means may have their COD Points and/or in-game items revoked. Additionally, these users may be temporarily suspended or permanently suspended depending on the severity of the fraud.

Read the Security and Enforcement Policy on the Activision Support page.

In our next report, scheduled for the mid-season of Season 02, we will examine our systems against the one-hour milestone we established in the pre-launch blog. As our work in the fight against cheaters continues, our team will persist in the development of updates and upgrades based on the immense amount of data already captured in the few weeks since launch.

As always, the anti-cheat team always recommends you activate two-factor authentication to better protect your account and report any instances of cheating you see in-game.

Keep an eye out for updates in future Progress Reports and across social media, particularly the @CODUpdates X (formerly Twitter) social account for real-time issues.

The first Page displays BlackCell Instant Rewards and the second Page shows premium Battle Pass Instant Rewards, followed by 100 in-game Battle Pass rewards across 14 Pages and a Completion Page that is instantly unlocked once all other Pages are completed. Pages include Free and Paid content. As always, all Base Weapons are free to unlock.

Starting Your Battle Pass Journey: Page 1

The Season 01 Battle Pass Instant Rewards Page

As you start your new Battle Pass journey, the Instant Reward Page and Page 1 are unlocked by default. All the other Pages are locked but can be previewed. Your goal is to complete the Battle Pass and access the 100 percent Completion Page at the end of the Battle Pass.

The Season 01 Battle Pass Page 1

Each Page contains a slight variation on the following:
  • Around six item rewards (known as “Tiers”) that are unlocked in any order you wish within the Page. Each requires an earned Battle Pass Token to unlock.
  • Each Page (except for the BlackCell, Instant, and Completion Pages) contains two free Tier rewards. The rest are unlocked via purchasing the premium Battle Pass, BlackCell, or the Vault Edition
  • An “HVT” (High Value Target) Tier reward is unlocked once all the previous items on that page are unlocked. This is usually an Operator Skin or Weapon Blueprint, and sometimes there’s a BlackCell variant.
  • When both the regular and HVT Tiers are unlocked, the Page is complete.
  • Use the Auto Claim feature to automatically unlock rewards as you play. Or turn it off to earn Battle Pass Tokens used to manually claim rewards.

Battle Tokens: Unlocking a Page

The Season 01 Battle Pass Page 6, with Tiers needed to unlock (from Page 1).

Battle Pass Tokens make their return to the Battle Pass and work in a similar way to those in previous Battle Passes. A Token Bank is displayed in the top-right corner of your Battle Pass. These are used to unlock the l reward Tiers across all 14 Pages.
  • Premium Battle Pass and BlackCell owners can spend these Tokens on any available Tier reward on an unlocked Page. Tiers can also be automatically unlocked by turning on the Auto Claim feature; with this feature, Tokens are spent as they are earned and not deposited in a Token Bank.
  • Players who do not own the premium Battle Pass earn free rewards in a linear order and do not have access to Tokens.

Unlocking Later Pages

The Season 01 Battle Pass Page 7.

If there is a reward in a later Page that catches your eye, you simply need to earn enough Battle Tokens to unlock that Page and its Tier content.
  • BlackCell owners get the bonus of unlocking a single Battle Pass Page at any point, regardless of whether the Pages before it are unlocked. Begin unlocking Tier Rewards on that Page immediately.
  • Each new Page requires reaching a certain threshold of claimed Tiers before it unlocks; you don’t have to complete an entire Page to access the next one.

BlackCell Season 01: Goliath Operator (Rogue Black Ops)

BlackCell Instant Rewards Page, HVT

Join the molten, crystalized skull-headed Goliath as he stalks the epic Season 01 BlackCell content. Featuring the “Goliath” Operator Skin with writhing flames across his onyx carapace armor, this orange-hued demon favors fiery combat and swift deaths. Carver: “Tarnished” Skins

Operator Skins, Battle Pass and BlackCell, HVT, Page 7

Mac is on the hunt and comes prepped with a camo vest with numerous pouches, a snakeskin-sheathed hunting knife, a shock of white hair and neck gaiter. In his BlackCell form, Carver goes molten, smoking with fire while his face-covering sports a pair of tactical goggles reflecting an inferno inside.

Alvarez: “Flight Path” Skins

Operator Skins, Battle Pass and BlackCell, HVT, Page 9

Clad in fighter pilot combat gear with front pouches, a comms radio and large helmet with reflective visor and purple accents, Alvarez sports a rust and black BlackCell variant with animated flames scorching across her helmet visor.

Operator Skin, Battle Pass, Page 13

Channeling a more dapper style from a bygone era, Rossi’s hair is slicked back with a cowlick, a neck scarf, shirt and braces, and suit trousers, with room to pack a pistol and comms radio.

Niran: “Big Slick” Skin

Operator Skin, Battle Pass, Page 14

While pinstripe pants and a biker’s jacket might not work on some Operators, Niran pulls off the look with badass aplomb, including sporty shades with tactical side shields.

Season 01: Battle Pass Base Weapons

Perhaps the two most important Battle Pass Pages are the ones containing a new Base Weapon. All players can access these for free (as always) at Season 01 Launch.

Saug Submachine Gun

Battle Pass, HVT, Page 3

Levels: 39

MAGS: 4

MAG SIZE: 36

Mastery Badges: Yes

Attachments: Optic, Muzzle, Barrel, Underbarrel, Magazine, Rear Grip, Stock, Laser, Fire Mods

Customize Options: Skins, Reticle Unlocks (MP, ZM, WZ), Accessories (1), Decals (1), Stickers 3).

Military Camos: 21 (MP, ZM, WZ)

Special Camos: 6 (MP, ZM, WZ)

Mastery Camos: 12 (MP, ZM, WZ)

Fully automatic submachine gun. Excellent mobility and good handling. Great rate of fire. High recoil.

Pepper your enemies with a hailstorm of lead using this rapid-fire SMG that’s perfect for breaching and clearing small spaces. Pull down when aiming down sights to counter the Saug’s recoil, or better yet, improve the weapon’s already great hip-fire capabilities with the appropriate attachments, including the Tactical Laser for a killer combo of mobility and accuracy via Tactical Stance. Or go all out on hip-fire with the Akimbo Saug Stock for unmatched SMG firepower.

Krig C Assault Rifle

Battle Pass, HVT, Page 6

Levels: 43

MAGS: 3

MAG SIZE: 30

Mastery Badges: Yes

Attachments: Optic, Muzzle, Barrel, Underbarrel, Magazine, Rear Grip, Stock, Laser, Fire Mods

Customize Options: Skins, Reticle Unlocks (MP, ZM, WZ), Accessories (1), Decals (1), Stickers 3).

Military Camos: 21 (MP, ZM, WZ)

Special Camos: 6 (MP, ZM, WZ)

Mastery Camos: 12 (MP, ZM, WZ)

Full-auto assault rifle. High damage and average handling. Recoil pattern starts very controllable before ramping up.

For a hard-hitting, versatile Assault Rifle that performs well across multiple ranges, look no further than the Krig C. The weapon inflicts moderate damage across the whole body with a four-shot elimination within its effective range, three when accounting for headshots. Recoil control becomes shakier through sustained fire, so burst fire to retain accuracy or consider attachments offering improved control to help counter the ramped-up movement.
