Time flies, as they say! Just like the fighters and bombers these days. The Germans are rearming, the Russians are on the move and the Royal Navy is on high alert! It looks like we are only hours away until war breaks out in Europe once again.
Mobilize your troops and prepare yourself for whatever enemy you may face! “Rush for Europe” is a special event map which runs on breathtaking 6 times the speed of normal game rounds! Even the tiniest decision could have severe consequences at this pace. Experience the war for Europe in a way you have never seen it before!

Attention, Generals!
Today’s update allows for longer and bigger country names! We increased the maximum font size of country names on the map. This enables you to leave an even bigger mark on the map when expanding your empire's borders.
We also streamlined our victory and loss conditions in the game with this update. In case a player loses all provinces, the player is now marked as defeated even when still being active. With the mark the player loses any possibility to make a comeback in the game round. This should make frustrating moments like dealing with leftover armies a thing from the past.
We improved the access detection on Android devices too. This means that it is less likely for the app to state that the connection was lost, although the device is connected to the internet.
We also fixed the bug that could cause the unit number to be hidden in the low graphics mode. You find the unit number above the unit image again, when using the low graphics mode.
Please note, that all still-running Call of War Classic game rounds will be ended on April 27th 2021. Should you be currently playing a Call of War Classic game round, please keep this date in mind, to avoid any inconvenience.

In this event you will not know friends nor family: In a 100p map with the ‘anonymous round’ feature enabled and no coalitions you will be pitted against 99 other players in a struggle for survival.
The event maps will start immediately after their creation with random country selection enabled and will run at normal speed. Players are flagged as inactive after 2 days. There is also an AI & human player peace period of 1 real-life day. We also enabled the Elite AI but will not charge any entry fee for this exclusive event. Additional option this time: 6 week time-box. The game will end after 6 weeks, the player with the highest victory points wins and receives a large gold price.

Attention, Generals!
Today’s update introduces a gold confirmation popup for players on desktop, allowing you to prevent spending gold by mistake, just like on mobile. You can activate this feature in the game settings.
Furthermore, we re-introduced small army labels when zoomed out far on the map and increased the morale damage dealt by some units. We also switched the starting conditions for events in the game. Instead of waiting for an event to start until the event map is full, the map starts with its creation, allowing you to dive into the action right away.
Please note that with today’s release we will disable the old “Canvas” graphics mode. With the introduction of the new “Low Graphics Mode” in December last year, we made the decision to disable its predecessor, as it gets increasingly difficult to maintain with each new feature and update that is added to the game. Should you still use the old “Canvas” graphics mode on your desktop or mobile device, please switch to the “Low Graphics Mode” in the account settings.
Last but not least, planes on carriers at sea do not convert into convoy trucks when sent on a patrol mission anymore, nor do they fly on a detour to the next airfield to refuel. If you were hesitant to use carriers due to this bug as of late, it is time to re-introduce carriers as the backbone of your navy!

Speed Round Event
Dear generals,
the time has come for another speed round event! Cancel all your plans and prepare for some short nights and long fights during the next 14 days. If no player or coalition has achieved a regular victory by that time, the player with the most victory points is declared winner. The end time is displayed in the game information within the newspaper and as a countdown on the right side of the screen. This scenario runs on the CoW 1.5 version, with new features and new balancing.

Today’s update brings some quality of life improvements and bug fixes. The building details of provinces now inform you about the hitpoints of the selected building on mobile devices. Country names are displayed more centralized, making them true eye candy. Last but not least, game rounds now have their own chats, allowing communication with players within your game round without having to rely on global chat.
