Saga of the Void: Admirals has been released from early access!

After an arduous several months remaking the game from scratch to reach my vision of the final product, saga of the void: admirals is now out!

New features verses Capitalship:VR include

Announcing Saga of the void: Admirals, total re-write for multiplayer support!

I am pleased to announce the full, release version of Capitalship will be coming in a month, with a whole new name and a ton of new features. for this version the whole game has been totally re-written to support the following new features:

- up to 3 v 3 multiplayer support.

- up to 50+ ships at once without dropping below 90fps

- Scaling improvements, the smallest you can scale by has been increased from 750 to 400,000. Ships can now be viewed at life-like scales.

- Vastly improved focus and balance, now 8 ships each with a dedicated focuses and counters.

- Reworked sound effects.

- Oculus sdk support fully integrated.

- and so much more!

The Update will be released on the 25th of July along with the full release of the game out of early access.

0.8.0.0 Update: absolutely tons of new stuff

Alright, after some off time there to get everything more polished, im back with a huge new update!

(If you want to see raw patchnotes skip to bottom)

Firstly im introducing a new Gamemode, in this gamemode instead of building a fleet on the fly you can now create a fleet in the new skirmish area with a set amount of reasources and face off against a selection of 5 (for now) AI fleets built with the same amount.

Secondly oculus touch support has been added, including the ability to rotate yourself with the extra buttons and render models for the touch controllers.

Thirdly two new areas have been added, an encyclopedia area where you can get various stats about all of the vehicles available to you and the weapons attached to them. This is accompanied by a new tutorial area with a much greater write up about how to play the game.

And finally a ton of small changes towords polish listed below:

- Splashscreen not unity personal anymore
- Combat Polished (targeting improved).
- New Gamemode fleetmaker lobby added.

Content Update

This Update contains a few new ships and some bugfixes.

Full Patch notes:

- Chaged around ship categories to "Frigate", "Cruiser" and "Support"

- Added Cruiser, expensive, slow, lots of guns.

- Added Healer Ship, heals surrounding ships.

- Added Light Destroyer, a cheap, multipurpose ship.

- Reworked Destroyer, its a bit weaker and more specialised now.

- Changed Ship model on Missile Ship, is weaker and more speciallised now.

All the new ships can be found in the spawn menu, the on ship menu is more of a quick menu for now.

- Temporary Ship movement indicator does not show with menu open

- Missiles now track correctly

- Tutorial Improved (only a bit)

- Initial scaling up works better.

Edit: Second hotfix up

- You now cant select unit with menu open.
- Added a check that should force the spawn menu to remain in the correct rotation.
- Fixed Light Destroyer Target Acquisition and, they actual fire in the right direction now too.
- CapitalShip has cannons now.
- CapitalShip colliders improved.
- Fixed that lag when explosions are first rendered.
- Fixed the ships exploading for the first time lag.
- Get map icons to display correctly.

Stability update + formations

In this update i have stopped that occasional crash (i think), added better formations control, totally re-written movement and collision avoidance systems (Works in 3d again!) and fixed an uncountable number of bugs.

1st Weekly(ish) update: tons of new stuff

Patch notes are as follows


-Ships now generate formation and retain the formation throughout the match.
-Timer in Defence Mission now Works
-Asteroids are now immpassable objects
-Sounds now travel to more accurate Distances
-Post Battle Victory/Defeat scene added(post game stats coming later)
-Controllers now have more interesting models
-CapitalShip Healthbar now works
-You can now deselect units by clicking the upper right corner of the touchpad.
-All ships Buffed to prolong engagements
-Collision Avoidance Improved
-Spawning System totally re-written, You now spawn ships physically with your hands (the menu is still on the bridge as well) you now cycle through menus with the touchpad, and grab a ship with the grip button then pull the trigger to spawn it.
-Portals have been totally re-written, they now look much, much nicer.
-New Music, All levels now have a selection of 3 potential tracks to play, two of which have been made exclusively for the game.
-Scaling up mechanics, now is more "spectacular", pending further tweeking.
-Full Custom Game mechanics, instead of three difficulty selecitons, you now choose between 5 difficulties and 3 maps in a lobby. Its much cleaner.
-Difficulty mode count increased to 5.
-Ship Detail Increased.
-Tutorial Has been revereted back to text.

Crashing fixed

AFTER DAYS OF SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AND TIRELESS HOURS, I HAVE FIXED THE BUG.

the update is now out where the game does not randomly crash
other changes include:

- some ships now collide wierdly again (got to find a way of stopping the colliding without crashing the game so much)

- targeting now works 100%

-ship explosion maybe doesnt look really strange -pending investigation-

im aware of the decent number of bugs remaining, but i can actually fix them now instead of finding the source of this crash for so much time.

Polishing Update

Everything has been polished, de-bugged and improved. still stuff left to do but this will go along way to making the game feel (*more) complete (to clarify polished, not anywhere near feature complete yet).

-Friendly carriers now spawn bombers again.
-You no longer have all units de-select upon returning to capitalship.
-The unit cap has been increased
-Ships now collide properlly and dont clip through each other
-Ships get pushed by projectiles hitting them less
-Missileship missiles now pass through the missileships so you can now fire at a 360 degree arc
-The Destroyer allied and enemy versions now fire at the same rate.
-The selection line is smaller and less cumbersome.
-The grip button now de-selects all units, to de-select individual units press the touchpad then press the grip button.
-Tutorial Updated
-Tooltips telling you what everything on the controllers does is now present in the tutorial.
-Dust is removed from the defence map.
-Level loading systems updated.
-Targeting and movement bugs have been "probably" fixed, i couldnt find a cause so i did aload of things that should stop any of the potential causes and it hasnt happened since so heyho.
-about 5 other bugs i forgot.

24th Update: Selection Improvement

Patch notes:
-Credits added
-You can now de-select individual units, press grip button to change selection/de-selection modes and grip + touchpad to de-select everything.
-Tutorial changed to account.
-Victory conditions Fixed, match now ends after destroying enemy capital;
-Selection line now longer.

Shouldnt be any glitches, although if something drops performance to crazy jitteryness i know what will have caused it so tell me which ship it is but again probably not.

Edit; turns out i broke the main menu, update fixing that pushed (its not related i told myself, it cant possible cause it to break i thought, lesson learned)
