Happy holidays, friendly farmers - Version 0.49 is here
New Features
-New Terrain System. We've upgrade the soil under your shoes. This should solve the tearing and flickering some players have experienced, especially on high-resolution monitors and when playing with the camera zoomed out.
-Dynamic Environment Trees, water levels, and more are now synchronized with the game clock.
Improvements
- Dealers you send to Seattle have had their payouts tweaked.
- We've added a variety of polish to make it more obvious which plant you're currently looking at or working on.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug that caused problems with the Tutorial.
Known Issues
*These two issues may be related* - Issues with contract payouts have been reported in previous builds. We're looking into it.
- Starting a game, then quitting back to the main menu just to start ANOTHER new game has been shown to create instabilities. Simply restart Cash Crop or continue a game in progress.
We'll see you after Thanksgiving!
Spookyween!
It's time to fear, it's time to fright;
It's Spookyween this unhallowed night;
So all you scaredy cats, your time draws near;
You can run but you cannot hide, my dear...

v0.49.0 - Sneak Peak
While we close the loop on a few of the larger features under development for v0.49.0, we thought you might enjoy a sample of what's to come. Check out what's new in v0.48.5.
New Features
-Weather Update: Rain effects have been enabled. Uncovered plants will collect water, depending on how intense the storm is.
-Weather Update: Heat waves have been added as a random event. Your plants will lose water faster over time when exposed to higher temperatures. Consider sprinklers and buckets if a heat wave strikes.
-New: Waterproof Tarps: Place waterproof tarps to protect your plants from a stormy downpour. Plants under the tarp will receive less exposure to sunlight as well.
Improvements
- Spider Mites have been re-balanced and re-released back into the game. Beware, these creepy crawlies can spread from plant-to-plant by hitching a ride on your crew members and growing webs...gross!
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug that caused Investigations to end before they should.
Version 0.49 - Coming Soon
Hi Cash Croppers,
Your favorite farm is about 2 weeks out from it's next update. As part of the next round of developments we had to break out our digital backhoe and do some heavy lifting.
We'll see you in a couple weeks with the next patch and some exciting announcements!
Version 0.48 - Overgrown!
Did you know that some strains of cannabis can grow as high as 16 feet (5 meters)? Imagine plants as tall as a house. Sound groovy? This update is for you.
New Features
-Overgrown! Given the proper care and enough room, plants may become Overgrown. This growing technique encourages your crop to become very large, requiring significantly more water and nutrients before harvest, but yielding many times more bud.
To maximize your chance of achieving wild growth, plant four identical strains in a 2x2 pattern, leaving a buffer of at least one empty tile away from any other plants. As below.
Keep your plants healthy, stress free, and with a little luck they'll merge into a tree of inspirational proportions.
Once overgrown, the buffer is no longer needed and you can safely lay new seeds around the base of the overgrown plant.
Improvements
-The ‘remove plant’ tool is fully functional once again. You can find it in the Seeds menu, in your Toolbar next to 'New Field'.
-Overgrown plants will receive a “!” at the end of their name, signifying their difference from the rest of your harvest. For example “Snicklefritz #1!”.
Known Issues
- The Harvest view may become temporarily confused when overgrown plants die under varying circumstances. This has no gameplay effect.
- Overgrown plant's sprites may temporarily "pop". This has no gameplay effect.
- Starting a new game may fail if you attempt to start it immediately after having started a new game. While we work on the next patch, simply restart Cash Crop if you run into this problem.
-There is no tutorial for Overgrown planting yet.
Enjoy!

- Pausing the game reduces music volume slightly.

New Features

Improvements
- Spectator Mode has been updated to accommodate for Dealers.
- Reputation system has had some work done under the hood.
- Text messages now display the senders name before their message.
- Text message notification when Dealers are out of bud to sell.
- Seeds panel UI now shows bud icons next to each seed type.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug which caused the camera to detach from your crew member.
Known Issues
- The Field view may get confused when the DEA confiscates plants.
