CastleMiner Z

Updates Coming This Fall

First of all I would like to apologize to everyone for how long this has taken. The reality of running a game company, even a very small one, ends up many time makes you do a lot of things that you have to do instead of what you would like to do.

Regardless there is currently a team in place that is working on ongoing content updates to CastleMiner Z. The first of which should roll out this fall, and hopefully should start coming out fairly regularly.

Me and the team are going to continue reading your input here for ideas, so that you to everyone for your support and contributions. I am very excited to see what will come from this.

  • Complete graphics overhaul, we have changed almost everything in the game. It looks very different, especially on high end systems.

  • Support for Modding
  • Ability to pick your language despite how your system is set.
  • Fixes for connection problems
  • Various other small features and bug fixes

1.7.0.0 r3 Now available

This is bug fix release.

Specifically:
- Fixed issue where control bindings disappear when upgrading
- Fixed issue where game would hang after pressing "Join Online" from the main menu.
- Various improvements to weapon animations and graphics.

1.7.0.0 RC3 "The Return of the Crosshair" now live for everyone

A thought provoking sequel to last week's 1.7.0.0 RC2, RC3 is everything it's predecessor was, but features 100% more crosshair.

Version 1.7.0.0 RC2 Now live in beta

This release fixes the following bugs:

  • Removed screen blur during chat
  • Ensure that full screen setting is respected at start up
  • Swapped next/previous item default bindings
  • Make availability of inventory/crafting items easier to see

As always, let us know of any problems you may have.

Version 1.7.0.0 now live in Beta branch

As Tom has mentioned before, we did a lot to improve the graphics and interface.

Let us know what you think!

1.6.3.8.r2 Is now live in both beta and default branches

This should fix the inventory reset bug people have been having.

It's a server side problem, so people will have to restart their servers for the fix to work.

As always, thanks for you patience.

Now, a quick sandwich and then it's back to the bug mine....

1.6.3.8 Refresh 2 is now in beta

Here's what changed:

  • Make sure all bindable keys are in the keybinding menu (this means you, reload. And you too next/previous item).
  • Fix controller shoulder buttons moving next/previous item in the wrong direction
  • Fix bugs with mouse wheel
  • Added default binding for Activate/Shoulder so default controls match the original layout exactly (fixes the crates bug).

Some of the text on the binding screen is not localized yet. I'll get on that tomorrow.

If you have already played 1.6.3.8, you'll need to go to Controller settings and click "Restore Defaults" to get the corrected bindings

Hey guys,

This time we added keybinding (Controls option, next to Settings in the menus) and bumped the max number of players up to 16.

We have a bunch more stuff in the pipeline, so stay tuned!

For those of you with Beta selected, this won't make a difference, but all others will update.
