Update 1.9.4 is in Beta - Sprint and Double Jump added!

This update introduces our first pass at a Stamina system.

- Hold Shift to Sprint. You can rebind this key in the Options menu.
- Press Space after jumping to jump a second time.
- A carefully timed double jump can avoid or reduce fall damage.
- There is a short cooldown on using stamina once you reach 0%.
- Taking damage also triggers a short cooldown on regenerating stamina.
- Increased the distance you can fall without taking damage to support double jump heights.

Please give us feedback before we go live with this change. Particularly if it seems to have a negative impact on PvP or certain game modes. The goal is for the extra movement to make the game more fun and, of course, there are future plans for more ways to use Stamina.

Update 1.9.3 is live!

This update contains all of the changes from beta 1.9.2 plus two additional fixes:

- Jumping while in Fly mode will make you rise upward.
- Exploration mode now works for Hosting Online games.

NOTE: Because of the new control scheme for flying, we reset everyone's keys to the default to ensure fly works. This should only happen the first time after downloading the new build. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but it should be fine from now on!

1.9.2 changes:
Creative mode has been upgraded! Three major changes to this mode:
- You can craft anything without needing resources.
- Dying no longer drops anything from your inventory.
- Press F to toggle Fly mode.

Additional changes:
- The old Creative Mode rules have been preserved under a new name: Exploration Mode.
- Added a second Lantern model for some additional variety.
- Added a unique model for the Laser Drill.
- Fixed a bug that destroyed all stacks of Recall Beacons when placing.

Beta updated to version 1.9.2 - We have enhanced Creative Mode!

Creative mode has been upgraded! Three major changes to this mode:

Even if you aren't excited to build, everyone should experience flying through the procedural landscapes of CastleMinerZ! Start a game in Creative Mode and fly around the world, through caves and rents in the earth, to islands in the sky and the volcanic mountains beyond. For added fun, bring a laser drill along for the flight.

This will be in beta for most of the week. Please let us know if there are any issues we need to fix before moving it to the live branch.

Update 1.9.0 is live. Try out the laser drill!

The laser drill is a modified laser rifle that offers a large ammo capacity combined with high rate of fire and the ability to preserve ore while it cuts through regular terrain. It also uses cheaper ammo than other laser weapons.

It's the ideal tool for tunneling in any direction and is fun to use! You can find it in the Pickaxe crafting menu.

Laser Drill is up on the Beta build!

Someone decided to take a common laser rifle and modify it to blast through all types of ore, leaving behind only the good stuff as loot!

Try out the new laser drill with a huge clip, tight accuracy, but low damage. It's the ideal way to cut a path through any terrain besides Bloodstone.

You can find it in the Pickaxes crafting menu.

To try the beta, you can right click on CastleMinerZ in your steam library and select Properties.

Then click on the BETAS tab and select 'beta - Developer Beta' from the list.

Steam will download the beta files and after that, you can run the CMZ beta build. You might need to restart Steam to ensure the download begins.

Update 1.8.7! Respawn beacons and more.

This update focuses on new building options. The respawn beacon will help with exploration or creating a base far from the starting zone. Enjoy!

- Added a Respawn Beacon. Place this to set where you spawn after dying!
- Added two sub menus to the crafting menu: Containers and Spawn Points.
- Added a variety of new crates to help organize your base.
- Added window recipes the Other Structures menu.
- Reduced the dust when digging and the smoke on explosions for improved visibility.
- Lowered the cost of crafting Stone pickaxes for a smoother starting experience.

We have some new changes that need player testing. Let us know what you think!

Note: If you want to try the beta build, go to your games library in steam. Right click on CastleMinerZ, select Properties. Then click on the BETAS tab. Use the pull down menu to select "beta- Developer Beta". Restart Steam and it will queue up CMZ beta for download.

1.8.1 Fixing the Too-sticky grenades.

Some of you may have found that throwing sticky grenades would never leave your hand. Fortunately those super sticky grenades never exploded either...

That should be fixed now and everyone can continue sticking explosives to walls and zombies. Give it a try and let us know if anything else needs fixing!

1.8.0 is live! Share the joy of sticky grenades with zombies!

Update 1.8.0 introduces sticky grenades in the new Explosives crafting group within the Weapons crafting menu.

Welcome to our first update in a while. This a small but fun start towards bringing more content into CMZ! Here's what is new:

- Moved C4, TNT and grenades into an Explosives crafting menu to allow room for new things that go boom.
- Added sticky grenades. Very useful for blowing up specific walls or enemies!
- The grenade have turned into pumpkins! Just as you are throwing away your own pumpkins, we're letting you throw ours too... with a bang.
- Tool tips will show up much faster. Hey, some of us are impatient.

We'll be going through player feedback and ideas as we plan out what to do for future updates. Thanks for playing!

Update 1.8.0 is in Beta!

This update introduces the Sticky Grenade! Use it to clear out tunnels or to ensure zombies don't escape the blast radius. The grenades have also transformed into pumpkins just as Halloween arrives.

We moved C4, TNT and Grenades into a new Explosives crafting menu under Weapons. This gives more room in the current UI for future updates involving explosives.

This is an important stepping stone for the team to get familiar with CMZ's engine and everything involved in bringing new content into the game. As we explore the possibilities, we look forward to more feedback and ideas from our community!
