Celebration comes with the Catmas update!

Hello, pawsome!

Catmas is coming and it's the most wonderful time of the year! Kitty cats love it because they get to play with all of the shiny things on top of the tree. To celebrate the festive season, we are releasing a holiday update for all of you cat-lovers to enjoy.

Catmas Reveler will visit your settlement with gifts and holiday accessories. You'll have a lot of fun dressing up the Catmas tree and the catizens.

We've also made the Rat King a bit more difficult – he now has special attacks on the “Catverage” difficulty level. If your Knights are fast enough, you'll be able to use their “Stunning Slash” talent before the King finishes his special attack. After defeating the vicious foe, you will be rewarded with a unique accessory – a crown. Only cats are worthy of wearing crowns, don't you agree?

And here are some more gifts we have in store for you:

  • The Rangers' arrows and bows now have their own model..
  • We've added a progress bar for the forge. When the Blacksmith is busy forging, you will see how much time is left to complete the item.
  • Cats with the “Brave” trait are not afraid of anything.
  • Added a mini-tutorial for crafting.

  • Added a request from an energetic cat. Completing it will reward you with a treadmill.
  • Fixed the bug that made all of the catizens sad. When a catizen with the trait “Green Paw” asked to decorate the settlement with potted plants, it remained blocked until the execution of this request.
  • Edited the in-game interface and added tooltips to the buttons. It is now easier to understand and use.
  • Fixed a bug where cats continue to sleep in their old beds after a change of residence.

  • Added new models for wheat, fences, and raven-damaged crops.
  • Added new cat requests that the player with decor items.
  • Added a new scratching fleas' animation.

  • Various hints now appear on the loading screen.
  • When placing objects, camera rotation is disabled if camera rotation and object placement are tied to the same keys.

We continue to work on adding decor elements for houses, accessories for catizens and improving the interface for players. Check out the game's development plans in the roadmap.

If you have any feedback or suggestions for Catizens, please let us know here or on Discord. We want to create the puuurfect game for players.

Hope you have a cat-tastic holiday!

Want your cats to live in a cozy house? Check out some of these decor concepts

Your pawsomeness!

Purr-furr! What have we got here? Fresh news from the world of Catizens! We're ready to show you something new and interesting.

In the last newsletter, we shared some of the weapon concepts for the catizens and their enemies. Today, we can show you the final weapon models. In the next update, you will see kitties with beautiful weapons, and enemies will look more impressive and menacing.

The best part is cozy decorations for cats' houses. They'll make your settlement look nicer and the cats will be happy. And there's nothing more important than a little furball in a good mood, right?

We've added toast as a decorative item for the chef's house!

Any cat lover knows that cats love to lie on grass and in flower pots! Nibbling on leaves and playing with dangling stems are sacred activities for any self-respecting cat. Here's some leaf decor and wild curly peas for them.

You'll also be able to use mushrooms as a decor item in your settlement. They give a +100 to the fairy tale character of any house.

In addition to decorating houses, we've started modeling accessories for the catizens, as well as updating the game's interface for players.

If you love kitties (of course you do!) then join our Discord, where you can share your ideas for the gameplay and decor. Subscribe to the game's Steam page and stay in touch!

Swamps, Rat King and boots - check out the new update!

Hello, pawsome!

We have some purr-tastic news for you today! A brand new update for Catizens has been released, which contains a host of new content and tweaks.

Update the game, dive back into the cat kingdom and tell us what you think.

List of changes:

  • A new area – Level 4, the Swaps.
  • A new profession – The Acolyte. Not all of the Acolyte's talents have been implemented yet. Specifically, the “Shackles” and “Deadly Plague” talents will be added in a future update.
  • A new quest for the Rat King –- If you have completed the peace negotiations with the rats in the previous levels, the Rat King will now be a neutral character and will talk to you. Note: you might have to visit the previous levels and create a fresh save in order for the game to register that you completed those quests.
  • Craft Pumpkin Lanterns – The Rat King can teach you how to create Pumpkin Lanterns that you can use to decorate your settlement. In a future update, we will add an ability for lanterns to protect you from the undead.

  • The Craft Magical Armor quest is not yet fully implemented – it currently ends when you create a golden sword or golden bow.

  • New craftable accessory – Leather Boots.
  • Tooltips for armor/accessories now show the stat improvements they provide.

This is all part of Update 1, as laid-out in our roadmap. We're hard at work on future updates and can't wait to show you more!

New patch released and more content on the way!

Hello, pawsome!

We received so much fantastic feedback about Catizens that we needed to get a giant new table for all of the notes! The Catizens community is fantastic and responsive when it comes to helping us with the game.

Rest assured, we've gone through all of the comments, suggestions, and bugs. This update contains bug fixes and improvements to the base game, as well as some new content.

Important: You will need to create a new save file to enjoy some of the bug fixes as the existing saves for the sandbox mode remain broken. Sorry about that!

What's new:

  • Moved camera rotation control to the left mouse button in order to avoid conflicts when players issued instructions to catizens via the same button. This sometimes led to player issued commands being canceled when the player unintentionally rotated the camera.
  • Creating the multi-selection box now allocated to shift + left click to drag.
  • Fog of war will no longer return to full strength at night.
  • Fog of war is a bit lighter and easier to see through for explored areas.
  • Goldmines in all sandbox modes are now accessible.
  • You can now change the name of all new catizens. Select the character, move the mouse over their name on the bottom left, and an edit pencil will pop up.
  • Removed green text in tooltips – they are normal text colors now.
  • Implemented ranger talent: Marksmanship and Rain of Arrows
  • A large rat boss will appear in the sandbox mode.
  • Added an Architect talent to move a building to a new location without having to rebuild. Select an architect (that has learned the ability), click on the ability, and select a building to move (left or right click on a building). That will open the build menu to let you place it in a new location. This ability has a 48-hour cooldown. Expectedly, this will disrupt the lives of anyone currently in and around the building.

Even more content in the works!

Our team is busy working on Level 4, but we are also not forgetting about other cool stuff requested by players. For example, we have started designing more hats and accessories for catizens. Who doesn't love seeing adorable balls of fluff in cute gear?

We are also developing new weapon concepts for the catizens and their enemies. And we are working on the talent tree for the new Acolyte profession, to be released with Level 4. You can read more about the development plans in the roadmap.

Enjoy the cozy feline life, join the community on Discord and help spread the word about Catizens!
