As we get closer to completing the 4th week of the Early Access of the new indie strategy card game Causa, Voices of the Dusk, we're approaching the deadline of one of our Early Access special benefits!

Until June 25th at 10 am (Eastern Time), first time logins will get free dust to craft up to 10 Legendary Cards. After this period, new accounts will only be assigned half of this crafting material.

New Draft Campaign with amazing rewards available for free

We’re very glad to be completing our third week of Early Access with a cool new update!

This time, we’re presenting a brand-new Campaign, completely free! Draft your deck and complete the Episodes to win 6 Card Packs and 1 Legendary Pack.





If you already purchased the Matriara Campaign, you’ll automatically get the new Nilset Campaign free of charge. In case you haven’t tried any, you’ll get the Matriara Campaign for free.

Here's Patch Notes 1.0.3:


  • We added a new Campaign of the Leader Nilset, and set the Matriara Campaign as free for everyone. If you had already purchased the Matriara Campaign, you’ll automatically get the new Nilset Campaign free of charge.

  • We added new Daily Missions which don’t require to win a match to be fulfilled.

  • We improved the reward of the Missions that granted 350 Gold, to 400 Gold.

  • We corrected the inconsistencies between some of the Mission names and descriptions.

  • We added a message to let you know when you or your opponent face connection issues. Instead of being stuck in a black screen, you’ll automatically go back to the last section you were in. No need to restart the game.

  • We improved the user interface of the Campaign Section, so it’s easier to understand that each Campaign is a one time purchase, and you can win 6 Card Packs and 1 Legendary Card Pack the first time you complete it.

  • Other minor UI adjustments.

Update 1.0.2, and Special Early Access Bundle Announced

It's been 2 amazing weeks of Early Access! Thank you very much for playing Causa, as well as for all your support and feedback.

There's still a LONG WAY to go to keep improving the game, but so far we're very glad we have reached over 2,000 new players accounts, and 124 user reviews, with an overall Very Positive score. We've also gathered TONS of constructive feedback through the Steam Community Hub and the Causa Discord Server.

We wanted to let you know we've just released an update that includes significant changes in the game balance. Here's the details of the version 1.0.2:


  • We increased the odds of obtaining Legendary Cards, from 1% to 1.7%.

  • The difficulty of the Daily Missions was lowered, so they are easier to accomplish.

  • To foster the PvP Mode, vs IA now grants 25% of the experience granted by PvP matches, instead of 50%.

  • "Fatigue" is now called "Despair", to fit the lore of Causa better.

  • We changed the Level of the Leader's Decisions: Uko, from 2-3-5 to 2-3-6; Bara, from 2-3-4 to 2-3-5; Nilset, from 2-3-6 to 2-4-6; Danu, from 2-3-6 to 2-4-6; and Ralkán, from 2-5-6 to 2-4-6.

  • We changed the Black Market Agent skill, from “When you draw a card due to an effect, deal 1 Damage to your opponent”, to “At the end of each turn, if you control two or more Supports, your opponent Expends 1”. Note: We loved the suggestion of adding the hitting himself effect. So we'll design a new card from another archetype to do that. This change should help the Milling Wealth strategies.

  • We changed the War Drums from: Level 6, 1 Use, “Use: Give +1 Attack and Aggressive to your Characters”, to Level 5, No Uses, “Your Characters have +1 Attack”.

  • The following cards were nerfed: Desert Blade (Gains +3 Attack instead of +4); Barcajali Brute (Health 4 instead of 5); Officiant of the Flame (Health 2 instead of 3); Intimidation (Level 4 instead of 3); Sumkala Disciple (Health 2 instead of 3); Official Safe-Conduct (Level 3 instead of 2); Sister of Mourne (Health 4 instead of 5); Grotty Tavern (Level 6 instead of 4).

  • The following cards were buffed: Highway Assault (Expends 1 instead of 2); Envoy of Ciadel (Level 4 instead of 5).

  • We fixed the bug that enables the Ranked button after leaving the Campaign Section.

  • We added the "Repeat e-mail" and "Repeat password" fields in the Registration, to avoid issues when registering new accounts.


Regarding what we'll be working on next, a few days ago we asked the community on Twitter what features/modes they're looking forward to the most, and what they think should be added to the game first. The results were the following:





However, the discussion on Twitter and Discord was even more enlightening than the voting itself. We'll let you know how all this impacts our development plans very soon!

Apart from the upcoming features, our current top priority is to improve the game stability, and fix connection/matchmaking issues. If you encounter any problem on this area, please share the details with us. This will help us identify and solve the problem.

Free Soulember to craft up to 10 Legendary Cards, and Patch Notes 1.0.1

Thank you very much for playing Causa and for all your valuable feedback during this first week of Early Access!

Today we’re presenting the Update 1.0.1 of Causa, which includes a major surprise aimed to improve your experience and progression in the game:

All users - existing and new - will be assigned free Soulember to craft up to 10 Legendary Cards.





Considering the other recent changes to the game’s economy, we expect this free Soulember to give a huge boost to your Card Collection.

We’re also simplifying the Soulember counter, so your Soulember and all the costs are divided by 10 - this is why you’ll see 6,000 new Soulember in your account, but also 10 times cheaper costs in the Card Crafting section.

Summing these and other changes up, here are the Patch Notes for version 1.0.1:


  • Free Soulember to craft up to 10 Legendary Cards assigned to new and existing players.
  • Soulember amounts simplified on the game’s client - the proportion was divided by 10, so you’ll see 6,000 new Soulember in your account, and all card crafting costs divided by 10.
  • We increased the reward of the Weekly Missions from 600 to 1,000 Gold. 
  • Consumed cads now produce more Soulember - a total of one third of their original value.
  • We added a clear timer per turn for the PVP matches.
  • The visualization of the player’s experience and levels was modified in the Missions and Profile sections.
  • We fixed the bug that allowed Characters to be healed beyond their current maximum Resistance, even though it was previously set to an specific value by an effect.
  • We fixed the bug that prevented players from finding casual matches after playing a Custom match.

After this server maintenance aimed to improve the game's performance, an updated version of the game will be live, which will include several technical improvements, and a big surprise which we expect will improve your game experience. Exclusive Early Access Card Back Reveal and Small Update Notes

Thank you very much for playing Causa and for all your valuable feedback during these first days of Early Access. We’re very glad about the reception of the game so far.

Today, we have an important reveal! Here’s the Special Early Access Card Back: Founders Organite - a cool item you’ll be able to get exclusively by playing during the Early Access of Causa.





This special item will be given to all Causa players who get to Level 10 on all the four powers in Causa: Glory, Wealth, Influence, and Spirit.

To claim this reward, you just need to share a screenshot of your achievement on the #founders-rewards channel of the official Causa Discord server. The dev team will get back to you with this exclusive reward through DM.

We'd also like to announce the creation of the #freebies channel on our Discord server, in which you'll be able to check the currently available codes to redeem for free gifts in-game. A great opportunity to boost your collection with free card packs and more!

Additionally, considering all your feedback, we've made a small update, with some changes in the game economy to improve your progression in Causa:

  • The rewards for the daily, weekly, and level missions have been improved.
  • The reward for each Victory in PvP matches has been upgraded from 15 to 25.
  • Consumed cards now produce more Soulember, which accelerates the possibilities of card crafting:
    Common: from 20 to 30 Soulember.
    Rare: from 80 to 150 Soulember.
    Epic: from 500 to 750 Soulember
    Legendary: from 2,000 to 2,500 Soulember
  • Crafting Legendary Cards is now cheaper. It takes 6,000 instead of 6,500 Soulember.
  • Cosmetic items are now only available for Organite.


We also included some technical improvements and bug fixing:

  • Small change to the Consume and Create buttons in the Card Crafting Menu. There's no need to hold the button to Create and Consume. You can cancel the process by clicking again while it loads.
  • The bug that caused a problem with how the pages of the Collection were displayed was corrected.
  • The Glossary was corrected: now it is displayed on different languages, and only the current keywords.
  • We implemented a temporary solution for the bug that causes a card from your hand to be stuck on your cursor. Please press Alt + tab to change the window, and then come back to the game; or click outside the window and come back to the game (for windowed mode).
  • A small graphic change: the amounts of Gold and Organite needed to buy Card Packs is outside the Purchase button.


We're still organizing all your feedback, and will be attentive to everything you can tell us during the coming days. We’ll start sharing patch notes from now on!

Causa will showcase a Demo at the Digital Dragons Indie Celebration

We're very glad to announce that Causa, Voices of the Dusk was selected among the 50 finalists to be part of the Digital Dragons Indie Celebration - an online event organized on Steam by Kraków Technology Park, Valve, and Walkabout Games.

A demo of Causa will be live during the whole three days of the event. Players will be able to access the Casual and Vs AI modes, check out the initial collection of Leaders and Cards, and get experience and gold in the game. Their accounts and progression in the game will be saved until the game goes live again!

There were over 200 submissions from all over the World. An amazing jury of industry experts composed by Robert Purchese (Eurogamer), Brett Makedonski (Destructoid), Karol Zajączkowski (11bit studios), Jakub Rokosz (Fool’s Theory) and Jakub Wójcik ( Indie Games Polska) picked the final 50.

During the event, the jury will pick top 3 games, alongside a Community Vote Award. We'll need your help to compete for this audience award!

Dev Update | March 2020: Here's what we've been working on.

Hey! We hope you’re doing great during these hectic times.

On our side, we’ve been eager to share with you the details about our progress during the last stage of development of the strategy card game Causa, Voices the Dusk. As you may know, big news are on the way!

As is often the case in game development, during the final stages of a project programmers tend to have multiple tasks to fulfill. This is why during the past few weeks our team has been focusing on optimizing the game, identifying and fixing bugs, implementing visual improvements, and developing a few pending features.



For instance, our programmer Boris “Satabolik” has been implementing a redesign of the market in Causa. It will be quite different from what you experienced during the Demo Weekend last November: Card packs will only be available for purchase with Gold - the currency you gain by playing. Also, only limited amounts of Soulember - the material used in card crafting - will be available for purchase. With these changes, we’re aiming to give players more control over the content they acquire, and therefore avoid any Pay2Win element in the game.



In terms of game design and script writing, during the past few weeks we’ve been working on designing and implementing Causa’s second Campaign. Our goal is to offer at least two campaigns, with seven playable episodes each, when Causa finally goes live.

Alongside this, we’re currently polishing the flavor texts that will accompany each Leader, card, and gameplay background. These are extremely important elements to present the vast and exotic fantasy setting in which the events of the game take place.

We’ll soon resume the game balance, therefore, we’ll be working side by side with the amazing group of experienced players that have joined the adventure of developing Causa as testers. Make sure to join our official Discord server to chat with them and the rest of our team!

In the areas of art, animation, music, and sound design, we’ve been working on adapting the assets to optimize the game, polish the details that are required to offer an overall smooth and engaging game experience, and other surprises we’ll reveal soon!
