A new achievement, and my new game CHAOS FRONT Announced!

Chaos Galaxy 2 has added an achievement called Four Admirals. The first player to achieve it was 风飞翔. Let's challenge it! Tip: Use Southeaven or Northsky and have the Princess establish the Galactic Empire on the other side.
In addition, I wanted to share some exciting news with you. The latest addition to the Chaos Galaxy series, CHAOS FRONT, has been announced! It's a new story set in the world of Chaos Galaxy, taking us back to a thousand years ago during the dark age of the galactic war. Players will take on the role of a mercenary corps that operates in the middle of this chaos.
Let me explain the reason for this update first. One year ago, a player on Discord proposed adding an achievement: to use the Blackdragon Spawns to win without summoning the Black Dragon. And this seems impossible, you can only use the initial five alien fleets without any losses, because without the Black Dragon, you cannot resurrect any fleet, and each fleet will be lost forever after defeat. I told him that as long as someone can complete this challenge, I am willing to add this achievement. A year has passed and I have forgotten about it. But today, this player PCSgtL appeared on Discord again, showing a screenshot and savedata of him using only 5 initial alien fleets to win the game! And he remind me not to forget what I said a year ago.
I won't break my promise. So I immediately worked overtime at night to make the new achievement! Let's try this super difficult challenge that requires one year of proficient skills to complete! Of course, I give up first... I modified a bug by the way. AI will no longer say something that are quickly obscured by black screens at the beginning of some battles.
This year has been a difficult year for me. My father first fell ill and later passed away. I have returned to my hometown multiple times to accompany him in the hospital. My planning new game also encountered many difficulties in the art concept step(the game I once mentioned that only one planet as the gamestage). Finally, the plan had to be restarted after wasting several months. Now this game will take place in the space, but the player is not playing a faction, but choosing one mercenary group to play. The era background of the game is a thousand years before the Chaos Galaxy, during the chaotic period after the fall of the Solar Union. I hope next year will be more lucky and I can complete this new game before the end of next year. I also hope that all friends will have good luck in 2024! Let's look forward to it!

Version 1.0 released
Happy New Year, my friends!
In the half a year of EA period, Chaos Galaxy 2 has updated many big contents such as Alien Faction, Mozi Ark, Custom Commander, and Custom Faction, made hundreds of adjustments, and fixed hundreds of bugs. The English text has also been polished and improved by the players. Thanks to your support and suggestions that Chaos Galaxy 2 can successfully complete the EA.
In this update, I added cards, badges, emos and backgrounds for Steam community to the game, and the following adjustments have been made.
Gameplay improvement:
1. Added some hover prompts in the UI. 2. When the player fleet starts the pre-engagement dialogue, the total power of the enemy and ours will be displayed. 3. The unit data UI at the lower left corner of the battlefield will display the faction emblem which the unit belongs. The commander's name of the unit's fleet will be showed by hovering the cursor on the emblem. 4. The damage of EMP gun is increased to 140. 5. Some text descriptions are adjusted.
Bug Fixed:
1. Fixed the problem that the color of the unit in the unit data UI at the lower left corner of the battlefield is sometimes displayed incorrectly. 2. Fixed the problem that the character-setting arrows in the Custom Commander UI sometimes doesnot work correctly. 3. Fixed the problem that the UI might get stuck when a custom faction is selecting a leader.4. Fixed the incorrect number of enemy losses on the BattleEnd panel. 4. Fixed the problem that an Imperial custom faction cannot trigger the event of Jing abdication. 5. Fixed the problem that the place commander UI stuck after deleting a custom faction. 6. Fixed a problem with the hire UI getting stuck when hiring a custom commander without any skills.
After the 1.0 version of Chaos Galaxy 2 is released, there will be no new content updates, but I will collect feedback bugs and repair them when they accumulate to a certain amount. Most of my time and energy will be devoted to the preparation of my next game.
Although there is no information to share, I would like to briefly describe my thoughts on the next game. This new game still belongs to the Chaos Galaxy universe. but it will choose another time point. The game stage is only one planet (including its orbital space). Mecha and other arms will fight in cities, snowfields, deserts and oceans. Terrible satellite lances often fall from the sky and cut the earth.
Since CG2 has nearly 300 units, I didn't make "cut in scene" battle animations like CG1 and Chaos Sector. As a result, CG2 has received bad comments from many players. In my new game, I intend to reduce the number of unit kinds to less than 100, so that I can bear the time cost of making these battle animations. In addition, I may allow players to customize the weapons, armor and auxiliary parts of the units to keep the richness of the battle experience.
Just as CG2's content is richer than CG1 and CG1 is more mature than Chaos Sector, when I am making the new game, my skills also exceeds that when I was making CG2. You can expect the new game will be a more interesting game than my past works.

Gameplay improvement:
1. 12 new portraits for custom commanders have been added. 2.Custom commanders who use robot type portraits as leaders can create Omnic type faction and use Omnic Policy tree. 3. WASD is no longer used to move the cursor, but can be used to move the camera in the big map and battlefield. 4. The guide text on how to capture enemy units has been added to the Pirate faction's Garage UI. 5. The initial relationship between the Eastgalaxy Company and the Emishi Pirates is greatly reduced. 6. The investment amount of senior investment proposals of Trader type faction has been increased. 7. Bill's tactical skill effect is changed to: Damage to enemy fighters doubled this turn. 8. Now, every time the planet changes hands, the mercenary's available task list will be refreshed. Every time a fleet is destroyed, the assassin's available task list will be refreshed. 9. Version 0.9.3 Custom Faction Released!

Custom Faction, the last big content in the EA plan, has been released! When we start a campaign, we can create up to 3 custom factions, and choose one of them to play. In addition, several related new collections and a new achievement have been added to the game.
Gameplay improvement:
1. Some algorithms of AI fleet actions in big map are adjusted . 2. Some algorithms about AI support-unit actions has been adjusted. 3. The Strategy Skill Sabotage Defense can only reduce the planetary defense to 1 at most. 4. All custom commanders will appear at the beginning of the campaign, not in a lost state. 5. Replaced the sound effect when troops use the Force Sword. 6. Some text descriptions are adjusted.
Bug Fixed:
1. Fixed the problem that AI commanders donot equipp skill chips. 2. Fixed the problem that when Lord Guangwu's tactical skill reduces the enemy's morale, the power bar is showed instead of the morale bar . 3. Fixed the problem that AI Zayd's tactical skill gives his units wrong buff. 4. Fixed the problem where the savedata slot sometimes fails to display the full date. 5. Fixed the problem that the number of enemy losses on the battle end panel does not add the loss of enemy reinforcements.
The main content of Chaos Galaxy 2 has been completed, and the version 1.0 will be released in early January 2023. And I plan to add several Robot custom commander portraits before v1.0. See you next update!

Gameplay improvement:
1. When the Imperial foe event happens, the relationship between imperial factions and the Imperial foe will be reduced to 0. 2. The AI's path finding logic to the enemy in the asteroid belt has been adjusted. Now AI ships will be smarter to bypass obstacles. 3. When we are selecting a fleet, the list of faction buttons in the upper left corner will be hidden. 4. Greatly improve the effect of the strategy skill Surprise Attack, Plunder Supplies and Sabotage Defense. Increase the effect of Incite Riot, Pacify People and Reinforce Defense. Increase the success rate of Internal Conflict, and if the Internal Conflict is successful, the two enemy target fleets get the status Fake Order. 5. Version 0.9.0 Update & Custom Commander available

First of all, I must apologize. I originally planned to finish this version in three weeks, but because the art work exceeded my expectations, it took me a whole month to finally complete them. In this version, we can customize commanders to join the game. After clicking the Custom button on the start menu and creating new commanders, we can let these commanders join our games. We can place them to some factions or set them as wandering roles. We cannot create new factions yet in this version, but it will be my work target in the next stage.
By the way, there is another important function worth telling. In this version, I adjusted some formats of the savedata, and now the time to open the Save Menu is significantly shorter than before. However, we need to manually overwrite the old savedatas in the new version. If it is an important old savedata to be collected, we can load it and overwritten it in the original slot. If it is not important, it is recommended to directly overwrite it with a new savedata. Only by overwriting the savedatas in the old format can we speed up the opening of the Save Menu. Please experience it.
Because the Custom Commander takes up too much development time, 0.9.0 does not add other optimizations and bug fixing. I expect to release two updates about game optimization and bug fixing in the next two weeks. Then I will start to develop the last major content in EA: Custom Faction.
There is about a month before the 1.0 version, because the discount requires an at least 28 days cooling period after a price change, next week I plan to raise the price of Chaos Galaxy 2 to the official price for 1.0 version.

A major update this time is the setting of the fleet base. Both the returned and newly recruited fleets will appear on the fleet base planet. We can spend a certain amount of gold to set up a new base according to the changes in the front. It should be noted that once the fleet base is captured, we will lose some prestige.

1. The effect of the Agile in the Evolution of the Blackdragon Spawns has been modified to increase the agility of all alien units by 10. 2. In the Collection UI, the name of the commander who owns the command unit will be showed in the desc of the command unit that has not been collected. 3. If the Royalist Alliance or the Regent Forces are vassals, the event will not be triggered when them destroyed the other. 4. Version 0.8.0 Update

The main body of version 0.8 is finally completed. In this version, we can finally using aliens to sweep the galaxy. Aliens use different resources from humans, and their game goal is completely different. Along with this version, a number of new collections and a new achievement are available.
In the campaign settings, we can set the alien invasion direction now. Click the four directional arrows to set that aliens will arrive at the galaxy from one of the four directions of East, South, West and North in this game.
Gameplay improvement:
1. Now when mercenaries (or assassins) accept a mission against a faction, mercenaries (or assassins) and the mission target can attack each other. 2. With a series of systematic checks, mercenaries (or assassins) could not be allies with the mission target or establish a relationship of suzerain and vassal. If they become an ally due to passive reasons, the mission will automatically fail. 3. The proportion of AI economic bonus is reduced. 4. The battlefield AI is corrected to avoid the problem that AI units do not take any action after being surrounded by units with Devour ability. 5. The effect of Jochi's tactical skill Lightning Strike has been modified to: All of our fighters will dodge enemy's ranged attack this turn. 6. Fixed a bug that vassals of Imperial Foe can attack Imperial factions, but Imperial factions can't attack them.
Another thing, after repeated thinking, I feel that the planed event Iron Wings is not fun enough, so I will delete that content from the development plan. At the same time, two Iron Wing commanders that have been completed are added to the list of hireable commanders, and human factions can recruit them in the game.
From tomorrow I will start work for the version 0.8.0. It is expected that we can play the Blackdragon Spawns after two weeks' development. There are two more updates related to game experience optimization in version 0.8. The plan includes quick saving and loading, setting the faction fleet base(the assembly point after the revival and withdrawal of the fleets), etc.
