Hello, fellow Chefs! We have a surprise for all our Eastern Chefs: the game is now available in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean!


We deeply thank the following people who helped us with the localization!

Polish Localization Available

Fellow Chefs, another localization is ready, and we have to thank Krzysztof Gmyr for it! The Polish language is finally available using the Options Menu.

We also fixed some minor issues with other localizations!

Version 1.0.4 - French and Portuguese available!

We are happy to announce that Chef has been localized in two more languages! Thanks to the efforts of Cédric G. (French), Maykon Mikhael (Portuguese), and Letícia Araújo (Portuguese)!

Version 1.0.3 - Russian and Italian available!

Hello fellow Chefs! A new patch has been released. It brings a few fixes and features people have been asking for. We are also happy to announce that the game is now available in Russian and Italian! New languages can be accessed in the Options!

  • Added new Ingredients-related Perks: having a lot or not enough ingredients in the menu will grant various bonuses and penalties.

  • Fixed an issue with restaurants in the backgrounds not giving Skill Points to the Staff properly.

We keep working on the next juicy update for Chef, a system that will allow you to specialize the Restaurant in a certain field, gaining unique bonuses and gameplay changes. This update will also bring a rebalance of all customers!

Hello fellow Chefs, a new patch has been released!

Changelog:

  • Different ingredients used in the Menu are now counted properly.
  • This may come as a surprise, but a few more messed up strings have been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue that could break savegames with more than a restaurant. Broken savegames can now be loaded without issues.
  • Fixed the issue with advanced Marketing Policies not unlocking anymore.
  • Fixed an issue with Minor Events not spawning properly.
  • Fixed an issue with the Alert related to Minor Events not disappearing.
  • Fixed some missing Event images.
  • The walls of a few restaurants have been fixed to avoid some items disappearing in them while furnishing.
  • Fixed an issue with the pass of some restaurants not displaying dishes properly.
  • Reviews will no longer create Alerts.
  • Added a few new Menu Perks.
  • Removed a few templates that were cut in earlier versions of the game but were still showing up in the Recipe Editor.

Hello fellow Chefs! We fixed a few issues and made some Quality of Life improvements. Here's the changelog for version 1.0.1!


  • When changing the position of furnishing items, their rotation will be preserved.
  • Edited Custom Recipes will now retain their price if they are on the menu.
  • Fixed an issue with Restaurants 101 and 102 allowing to place furniture on the windows close to the door.
  • Fixed a rare issue preventing saves to work properly due to a deleted Custom Recipe.
  • The Meat Stew Template can now be used to create Soups
  • Fixed the price of Tea Recipe being too high.
  • Mortadella (the Ingredient) has now proper flavor matches.
  • Fixed a few mismatched or missing strings.
  • The "Faster Than Light" skill Tier for waiters have been changed.
  • Achievements should now unlock more reliably, but never during the Tutorial.
  • Changed the order of the Salad Skill Category in radials to match the order in the Side Staff Panel.
  • Fixed an issue with an Air Conditioner not retaining its customized color.
  • Fixed some minor events without proper tooltip on the choices.
  • Fixed an issue with draggable UI pieces, like recipes and ingredients, that could make them break out of the UI and float around the screen. Now, unless someone starts dragging an ingredient and smashing all buttons of the keyboard for a couple minutes while moving the mouse like an insane person, the issue won't happen again.
  • The Restaurants Panel now shows all data as intended.

Out of Early Access!

The time has come, Chef has finally left the Early Access! It has been a wonderful journey, during which we had the chance to meet some many awesome people from all around the world. Your feedbacks and support had been invaluable for us, and allowed us to work with passion and motivation in the last 18 months.

But the journey is not over! While Chef is ready for its full release, we are definitely unwilling to abandon it. There are already plans for future updates, both in terms of contents and features, and we are eager to welcome all the newcomer chefs that will join our brigade in the next weeks!

Here’s the changelog for version 1.0:

  • Added minor events: according to the restaurant performances, the staff morale, and the adopted policies, some minor events may trigger in the restaurant.
  • Added two new difficulty settings, one providing a more relaxed experience and one capable of pushing every chef’s skills to the limit.
  • Added a Sandbox Mode with a massive amount of money available right at the beginning. The feature is experimental, please let us know what you think about it and what would you add to it!

Patch 40 - version 0.9.6

We just released a new patch for Chef!

Changelog

  • Influence points can now be properly spent after moving to a Restaurant that is inside the area owned by the previous Restaurant.
  • Fixed the Multiple Restaurants decision not working properly.
  • Added an option to turn off the Camera Edge Scrolling,
  • Added a banner to clearly highlight that the game is paused.
  • Ambient sounds will now be turned off when turning off SFXs.
  • When trying to unpause when an Alert is forcing the pause, a proper visual effect will highlight the Alerts.
  • The Microwave's Perk icon has been fixed.
  • A Steamer is now available by default at the beginning of the game instead of being unlocked while progressing.
  • Fixed a few broken strings showing wrong data.
  • Removed an old event adding Tasks that was obsolete.

A new patch has been uploaded!

Changelog

  • Added proper animations for waiters when delivering orders.
  • The Kitchen pass now shows if there are orders to be delivered with a proper graphical feedback. It can also be clicked to see everything that needs to be brought to tables.
  • Fixed an issue with staff members having wrong names.
  • Fixed an issue with customers getting blocked when staying until 4 AM.
  • Lard has no longer the Meat Tag
  • Ginger has no longer the Vegetable Tag
  • Fixed an issue with an Executive Chef not working as intended and providing no bonuses.

Patch 38 - version 0.9.4 - Burgers and Sandwiches!

We just uploaded a new patch for Chef, bringing many new contents and some important fixes to the game. And yes, Hamburgers and Sandwiches are now available!

Changelog

  • Added a new Skill Tree dedicated to Sandwiches and Burgers
  • Added five new Templates for recipe creation: Sandwich, Grilled Sandwich, Hamburger, Fish Burger, Veggie Burger
  • Reworked how the Skill and Ingredient Points are gained. There is a new panel dedicated to Cyclic Tasks.
  • Added several new Cyclic Tasks, only availble when starting a new game to avoid breaking the game's balance.
  • Moved the Tasks to a different Panel on the left area of the screen.
  • Added a button to remove all Influence from a certain Neighborhood.
  • All Menu Perks are now shown greyed, allowing players to know what Perks are available and what to do to activate them.
  • Added a button in the Menu Panel to import Custom Recipes from different save games.
  • It is now possible to Move to a new place inside the Influence Area of the current Restaurant.
  • The UI now clearly shows the Restaurant owning a certain Influence Area.
  • Fixed a Major issue with Restaurants and Influence Points. The fix is save-compatible.

  • Restaurants have now a number to help identify them.
  • Improved the Tutorial with blocked buttons to focus the player's attention on the matter at hand.
  • Added a proper preparation time to all recipes, some of them will be quick to prepare on the counter, others will require Chefs to work for longer.
  • Fixed a minor issue on the map when starting a New Game without restarting the game.
