Character Customization and Progression
Character Upgrade Menu Altered: A new ability tree designed to allow players to manually unlock and upgrade character abilities has replaced the previous system of automatically gaining abilities on level up.
Ability Runes Added. There are currently 5 - 6 runes for each ability slot of a character, each altering the way the ability behaves. Runes are dropped by dead enemies and can be found inside chests and other lootable objects during dungeon runs. All Ability Runes are removed upon returning home.
Inventory Slots Added: Each character can equip up to two items. Items are shared among the family and can be equipped to multiple characters at once.
Characters can now upgrade unique passive abilities.
Crafting and Resources
Schematics and Crafting Added: Ring and Amulet schematics can now be found during dungeon runs. A new menu at home allows Uncle Ben to craft and upgrade these items for Common and/or Rare Gems. Schematics are gained from resolving in-dungeon events, defeating bosses and Challenge Rooms as well as a small chance from opening chests.
Resource Altered: Crystals have been replaced by Common and Rare Gems. This new currency is used primarily in crafting and stacks between dungeon runs.
Resource Added: Souls are a special resource limited to one dungeon run that can now be harvested from dead enemies. Soul count resets upon returning home.
Destructibles Added: Destructible objects now exist in dungeons with a chance to release gems, health globes, and Ability Runes.
Events/Encounters
Small and Giant Chests Added: These new chests reward gems, health globes, and runes. Giant chests require a soul to unlock, but have a small chance to drop schematics.
Interactable Objects Added: New objects scattered throughout dungeons (dead corpses, broken wagons, etc.) can be interacted with a chance for an item of use to drop.
Sacred Shrines Added: Sacred Shrines now rest in dungeons. Activating them at the expense of Souls provides various temporary boosts.
Narrative Events and Quests Added: An additional four Narrative Events and Quests have been added to the Caeldippo Caves.
New Gameplay Event Added: A new puzzle-focused event can now be found.
Challenge Room Encounter Added: Challenge Rooms now have a chance to spawn a mini-boss instead of enemy waves. Mini-bosses are a weakened version of the previous Boss Monster.
Caeldippo Cave Boss Added: The rightful boss has now appeared, replacing his vicious minion!
Anai-Daya Chamber (Boss Room) Updated: The boss room has received a major visual upgrade to create a more epic environment to combat in!
Dark Corruption Portals Added: Corrupted portals have a small chance to appear from defeated enemies that continue to spawn Corrupted enemies in the location to keep a dungeon from ever feeling too safe.
Summoning Circles now appear more organically in the environment instead of in a particular room.
Bergson Home
Sanctuary Added: Dungeons are now accessible through portals in the Sanctuary below the Bergson’s house. The Sanctuary can be accessed by clicking on the fireplace in the house.
Mental Bubbles Added: Gain insight into the family's well being by clicking on them in the house to see their thoughts.
Misc
Improved Camera System: Improved performance for Event Rooms and special camera movements that now allow bosses and key objects to remain visible during encounters.
Better pixel perfect interpretation implemented for enhanced visuals and improved performance.
Various bugs and issues solved.
