It has been an exciting development cycle ... but we are delighted to announce that today is the day! Our new point&click adventure Children Of Silentown releases TODAY!
It is finally time for you to get this traditional point&click adventure with modern features, well balanced puzzles and mini games, and a mystery that needs solving! Enjoy the most beautiful soundtrack while exploring this delightfully drawn, Burtonesque world and take in its both wholesome yet eerie vibes.
Interact with the townspeople (and animals!), play with your friends, collect in-game stickers, achievements, and learn more about what no grown-up dares to talk about: the forest. Don’t forget the most important question, though: Who is really faster, the hedgehog or the frog?
Special thanks to everybody who took the time to test and play the free Children Of Silentown Prologue. We appreciate everybody’s interest and support!
Enjoy! Elf Games, Luna2 Studio and Daedalic Entertainment
Today, Elf Games and Luna2 are shedding light on how Children of Silentown came to be. Insights about the unique design of the game as well many more infos are now available in this developer spotlight:
Originally developed as an animated short, Elf Games and Luna2 collaborated to bring the Children of Silentown into the interactive medium. The Making Of video tells the tale of how this suggestion snowballed into the game we see today as a full-fledged title, made by this small group of people in their off-hours from their full-time jobs in software development and full-time content creation on YouTube.
As we (Daedalic) can testify from first hand experience - the passion this team is spreading is infectious - and if you already feel the same, there is a whole prologue of the game for you to get your hands on to ease the wait until Children of Silentown releases on January 11th
We’re super excited to announce the release date for Children of Silentown – a dark adventure set in a mysterious community that’s surrounded by an ominous forest. On January 11th, 2023, you’ll be able to discover the secrets hidden within!
Children of Silentown is a dark point-and-click adventure game that follows Lucy, a girl growing up in a village deep in a forest inhabited by monsters, as she slowly begins unravelling the mysteries surrounding her. The unique hand-drawn and eerie art style combined with atmospheric music builds a hauntingly beautiful world for you to explore, solve puzzles and play minigames in, as you slowly peel away the layers of mystery surrounding Lucy’s nightmares and the forest just outside of town.
You’ll be collecting and combining items to solve puzzles, but you’ll also be learning songs to communicate with others and progress through the game, with these songs, you’ll be able to shape and influence Lucy’s story, which will lead to multiple different endings.
If you’re interested to already get a small glipmse into the story, there is a free Prologue available:
🏆 Silentown wins Best Storytelling award at Game Connection!! 💥
Hello there, exciting news!
While we are busy working on the finishing touches (can’t say more, but almost there…), Children of Silentown won the Best Storytelling award at Games Connection!
We are happy about the game’s storytelling being acknowledged the most - more and more, we hope that all the work that went into the story and the characters will reach y’all!
Our team can't wait to know what you think. Please, just a little more patience!
See ya soon, Elfs
Update time!
🔥 Heya all! 🎃
It’s been a long time since we had something to post - but right now, we have something great to share and we want you to take part in our joy:
1) The PC version of the game went "Gold", a.k.a. it’s complete! Obviously, there are still few more things that need to be prepared for a bombastic release - so it will not be today or tomorrow… but when the time is right, please look forward to an announcement from our publisher Daedalic!
2) The Prologue to the game recently has passed the 1000 reviews! This is already a great achievement in itself, but especially since there is a whole game to follow up - Many thanks to everyone that played the prologue and left their feedback, it’s lovely to see so many of you enjoying it - this is not just heartwarming but really helps a lot for the upcoming release of Children of Silentown. ❤️
3) Spooky time is upon us! Now, we will not be able to release during October (even if we tried 😭) but please, enjoy the spooky holidays to the fullest - the waiting will pay off eventually - that is for sure!!
That’s all for now, may the spook be with you! Elfs (& Daedalic Entertainment)
Steam Next Stream
Check out BogOtter playing Children of Silentown for the Steam Next Fest!
We can't believe it's almost the end of the year already. Christmas is fast approaching, which also means it's time for the yearly Steam Awards. Children of Silentown is not eligible for this year yet, but rest assured - we're working hard on making a big impression with the main game during the next awards.
On the other hand, though: our "Children of Silentown: Prologue" is qualified, and we would be honored if you decide to show us your appreciation and nominate it. You can cast your vote until December 1st.
Pro Tip: If you haven't already, besides voting, leaving a review for the Prologue is part of obtaining a sweet badge from Steam, as well. We would be grateful for your honest opinions
No matter what - we are thankful for everyone who played the Prologue and the demos during the Steam festivals.
It's been quite something of a year, and we hope you're doing as well as it is possible in these times.
See you soon, Daedalic Entertainment & Elf Games, Luna2 Studio
Publisher Reveal: Daedalic Entertainment
Heyho everyone,
As part of the publishing team over at Daedalic Entertainment i can't tell you how excited we are to finally reveal ourselves as the new publishers of Children of Silentown!
As some of you might know, we have a long history of developing and publishing enthralling tales in the form of point&click adventures (Edna&Harvey 1&2, the Deponia Series, The Night of the Rabbit etc) - so it only made sense to partner up with Elf Games as we saw great potential in this great take on the beloved genre.
We already started supporting them in all areas surrounding the actual development work behind the scenes and are now slowly ramping up everything for the release. Did we already tell you that we are excited?
Best Regards, Penta, Community Strategist Daedalic Entertainment
