Cinderstone Online - A Farewell and a New Beginning

Dear Cinderstone Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Cinderstone Online servers. After four years of continuous development, dreams, and dedication, we've come to a difficult realization. Despite our best efforts, Cinderstone Online hasn't attracted the audience we hoped for, nor has it developed the features and content necessary to thrive.

We wanted to keep our world alive as long as possible, but the reality is, the costs have surpassed our earnings. So, with a mix of sadness and gratitude, we're saying goodbye to this chapter of Cinderstone Online.

But is this the end of Cinderstone? Absolutely not! We're excited to share that we're working on a new free-to-play version. This isn't just a new game; it's a token of our appreciation for your unwavering support. To our loyal players, expect special premium items in this new adventure - a small thank you for journeying with us.

Today may be a sad day, but it's not the end. Let's stay connected and look forward to the new horizons that await us in the world of Cinderstone.

With heartfelt thanks,
Davide Moriello

The Big Leap to Tier 2 and Beyond

Hello everyone!

We're back in action after a refreshing week off. During this time, Daniel has been working on the new maps while I (Davide) have dived back into developing the much-anticipated Tier 2 classes. The Tier 2 update is the biggest one for Cinderstone Online yet.

The current Tier 1 and its two maps have always served as a tutorial, a sandbox for us to experiment with various features and gain valuable feedback. But with the advent of Tier 2, we are stepping into a new world! We are glad to announce that new content will be rolling out more swiftly as many maps and dungeons are already set and ready to go. The introduction of Tier 2 classes will bring about a significant change in the gameplay dynamics, including monster damages and class stats. The much-awaited Tier 2 update will be live by next Friday. We expect a lot to test and balance, so be ready!

Meanwhile, I want to extend a huge thank you to Wasabe and Jakobson for their colossal effort in organizing the bug list on Trello. You can see the fantastic work they have done here:
https://trello.com/c/Xp2o3Eqp/16-cant-enchant-weapons-in-last-48-slots

Now, let's give you a sneak peek of the new areas that are coming up:

Southerville:

Located in the south of Cinderstone, Southerville has received an update for its town and watchtower. Even the water has had a quality upgrade.

Dungeon Ice Troll Cave:

Hidden somewhere in Mt. Helicon, the Ice Troll Cave is a sight to behold. The lighting creates captivating chromatic effects on the ice and fog, which have also received a quality boost.

Falkencrest:

Falkencrest can be a bit of a maze and turns spooky at night with its dense fog. The Dela Trees have received a visual upgrade. If you've been to the swamp zone in Wellington, you would have noticed it. Most importantly, Falkencrest is the area that will be opened up with the Tier 2 update next week!

Stay tuned for these exciting updates, and as always, thank you for your continuous support.

Cinderstone Online Update 0.221: A New Era for Skills!

Hello, brave adventurers of Cinderstone Online!

We have some exciting news to share with you. In our latest update, 0.221, we are revamping the skill system, bringing it to version 2.0! This update is set to change the way skills are learned and leveled in the game.

Firstly, say goodbye to skill points. Now, you'll need to purchase skillbooks from NPCs to learn new skills. And for the rarer, more unique skills, you'll have a thrilling task to accomplish - defeating bosses!

What's more exciting? Skills now gain experience and become stronger the more you use them. The more you rely on a skill, the more powerful it becomes. We believe this will add a new layer of depth and strategy to your gameplay.

However, we're still in the process of balancing this new system. The changes to damage and balancing are far from the final version. We are counting on your valuable feedback to make this the best it can be!

To implement this new system, we've reset all skills. You can purchase new skills from NPCs. And if you're wondering where to find a specific skill, just open the skill screen, and it will tell you where to find it.

That's not all! We've also added two new crafting books in Wellington, to enhance your crafting adventures.

We are so grateful for your continued support. We can't wait to hear your feedback on the new skill system. Thank you for being a part of the Cinderstone Online journey!

Happy adventuring!
