After months of development and BETA testing, we are proud to present the technologically most advanced and sophisticated VR Cinema experience for Android Cardboard!

We did everything technically possible to come very close to the Oculus Rift version experience. The result is astonishing! It's amazing what can be achieved on mobile devices already. There is a bright future for mobile VR.

The app works best with high-end smartphones. If your device has an HD OLED display, then most likely it fulfills the minimum requirements. Recommended headsets are the Homido, Durovis Dive and Zeiss VR One.

CINEVEO v1.8.2 update brings back 3D movie support!
The CINEVEO v1.8.2 update is available! This update brings back 3D movie support to the Windows 10 compatible 4D Movie Theater v3.0 and increases performance as well as stability.

We are working hard to add Windows 10 and Oculus Runtime v0.7 support into all of CINEVEO's other cinema themes. We hope that within the next two weeks we will release the "Space Station v2.0" with a complete design makeover, as well as The Void theme with Windows 10 and Oculus Runtime v0.7 support.

CINEVEO v1.8.1 update adds v0.7 Runtime and Windows 10 support!
We are happy to announce the first Windows 10 compatible version of CINEVEO!

We have upgraded the 4D Movie Theater v3.0 BETA with the Oculus v0.7.0 SDK, which adds Windows 10 support.

Unfortunately, due to bugs and limitations in the Oculus v0.7.0 SDK and Unity's new built-in VR support, it's not possible to watch 3D movies in this BETA. There are also some graphic issues with the real-time reflections and the app sometimes crashes when exiting it. Luckily, everything else seems to function correctly. That's pretty good if you consider that the Oculus v0.7.0 SDK is only a BETA and the first Runtime ever to support Windows 10.

IMPORTANT !!!

Before you upgrade to Windows 10, be aware of the possible risks. Carefully study the minimum requirements of the v0.7.0 Runtime on the Oculus website. To be able to run the v0.7.0 Runtime on Windows 10, you need to have certain graphic cards and drivers. Rift support on Windows 10 is limited at the moment. If you don't inform yourself, you might end up upgrading to Windows 10 just to discover that you cannot use your Rift anymore.

We will try to push out an emergency update with Oculus Runtime v0.7 and Windows 10 support ASAP. Until then, CINEVEO works best on Windows XP / 7 / 8 and the Oculus Runtime v0.6.0.

CINEVEO received a major update today!
Today, we are excited to announce the release of the biggest update CINEVEO has received since the addition of the 60s Drive-In Theater! In the new v1.8.0 update, the 4D Movie Theater v2.0 is retired and replaced by the 4D Movie Theater v3.0. The new v3.0 is a complete re-build with Unity 5 and the Oculus v0.6.0 SDK. It comes with many new features, such as a AAA graphics upgrade, advanced dynamic lighting with reflections and shape drawing, an innovative Stereo PFOV lighting technique we invented that extends the movie experience beyond the edges of the cinema screen using your peripheral vision, new hands-free controls, more functionalities and is Rift CV1 ready.

VERSION 1.8.0

- The 4D Movie Theater v2.0 is retired and replaced by the 4D Movie Theater v3.0. The new v3.0 features AAA graphics, Oculus v0.6.0 SDK, advanced dynamic lighting with reflections and is Rift CV1 ready.

- Upgraded to Unity 5, making use of all the new features and goodies.

- Native Oculus Runtime v0.6.0 support.

- AAA graphics upgrade. Ultra-realism, Ultra-immersion. Now you really feel like being in a movie theater.

- New dynamic lighting engine casts the cinema screen’s light, color, reflections, shapes and shadows throughout the movie theater.

- Innovative new Stereo PFV (Peripheral Field of View) Lighting. We invented a new dynamic lighting technique that utilizes your blurry peripheral vision (What your eyes see at the edges of your field of view). This new technique creates a mesmerizing special effect, which extends the movie watching experience beyond the cinema screen and into the movie theater. It will feel like the movie is actually taking place inside the movie theater. This effect can only be seen from the start position chair (last row chair) and is best visible during action scenes and explosions. You will see the effect when you keep focusing at the center of the cinema screen and see part of the left and right wall of the movie theater in your peripheral vision.

- New hands-free gaze controls with new design.

- Added new functions to the video player hands-free interface (fast forward / rewind 10 seconds or 1 minute, lighting toggle, go to movie selection zone, exit the app, current time).

- Added a new movie selection hands-free interface that lets you switch video files inside the movie theater. The new movie selection interface opens when you look at the popcorn box to the left of you.

- Graphically enhanced movie selection zone.

- Added tunnel fly-through animation to movie selection zone.

- Added a file filter to the VR File Browser. Now only lists folders and video files. Other files are filtered out.

Oculus Runtime v0.6.0 support coming soon!
In the next few days CINEVEO for Oculus Rift DK2 will receive a major update! All cinema themes will be updated with "Oculus Runtime v0.6.0" support, optimized dynamic lighting and the 4D Movie Theater will also receive some of the enhancements we developed for the new CINEVEO Android version. Until then, the Oculus Runtime v0.4.4 works best with CINEVEO.
