This is very difficult level with resources scattered on small islands. With 3 entrances spawning enemies, this map is a great fit for those looking for a challenge! Winning this map also unlocks the Hardcore skull challenge totem, which will be explained below.
Activate the Harcode skull challenge totem at the very beginning of a game and prepare for your biggest challenge yet!
How it works:
This mode can be activated in any map. Before you build anything else, build the Hardcore skull totem (cost 1 branch, 1 rock). Activate the Totem by pressing βEβ. It will explode and the mode will be activated. This mode will be crazy difficult, itβs for expert players!
Your rewards
Unlock a 4th star on your map! Once you complete this challenge in a map, you will get a new star to your progression! Then you can brag about how good you got at playing Citywars Tower Defense.
New special unlock for your house! This pretty little bauble will tell you how many stars you gathered so far and open the star shop. In this shop you will be able to unlock special vanity items for your house.
In bulk - Resource Distributor fix. The distributor had a problem with the costs for its resources, where the prices were wrong. The prices are now back to normal. - New Trees / chopping trees fix. We added new trees for the upcoming maps, and we also fixed some trees that couldn't be chopped down. - The level shows 99 when you had no level now it will display the actual level. - Your class was added to your name at the bottom of the screen. - Icons update. - New setting that allows you to hide the chat preview. (specially useful for twitch streamer) - New setting invert view for the game controls. - Every maps now has a suggested player count to tell you how easy or hard the map is.

Unlock the Grindstone to repair your equipped armors, tools, weapons. This unlock has switched with the baby dragon summoner in Hopetown. Go and fetch it if you finished Hopetown already.
We fixed the battle music so it is not heard everywhere in the game for some of you but only when you engage in a wave fight in a world. If you were stuck with it, sorry it was annoying. We calibrated a good part of the towers so each one of them is more interesting to play with and will change your strategies in each map. -Buffed: Slam Tower, Thunderstorm Tower, Ground Tower, Judgment Tower, Flame Tower, Sludge Tower, Shooting Tower -Nerfed: Sniper Tower (Buffed its higher Tiers) -Changed: Heal Tower & Slow Tower, Soulfire Tower, Nature Tower
We switched the unlock of the crystal summoner tower with the crystal blaze, we also simplified the recipe. The crystal blaze now serves to create the grass elemental gem. After consuming it you will gain double XP for 5 minute.
The enchanted wood is not crafted in the crystal blaze anymore. That also gives you the opportunity to upgrade your saw bench to the enchanted level 2 to craft enchanted wood.
The gold crafting recipe was moved to the Forge lvl. 3 So donβt get confused or lost if itβs not in its usual place anymore.

We worked non-stop for a week!

We merged requests for projectiles into 1 request to the server taking up much less space on the servers. You can imagine how many projectiles take up space in a tower defense game. Shooting stuff is half the game! We did the same for a lot of other processes and that made a huge difference on the server.
We added new content! A completely new resource that allows for even higher tower upgrades. Introducing GOLD unlock and recipe! But to get it you will have to be prepared because it will come with an otherworldly threat. Available for players that have completed Noblewood (blue world) and part of Hopetown to get at least 2 unlock points(it comes right after the Green Crystal upgrade). With that we guarantee you will get those pesky 3 stars youβve been working so hard for.
We finally added a proper reward for the super mini and near impossible secret map! You will get your very own brag trophy! Since we are in early access we need to update and fix stuff as we go while you are all online. That means that to implement new updates to make the experience better, we need to restart our servers often. We just added a much clearer message that will appear on your screen and in the chat so you can stay up to date with whatβs going on on our side and when a server update will take place. Donβt worry you progress will be saved and server restarts usually don't take more than 10 seconds. Hope this can alleviate some of the frustration of the game closing in your face :-D. We donβt like doing it, believe us but it's a necessary evil.
We spent part of the week completely redesigning the core of the tutorial to make it crash proof and multiplayer. At first, the tutorial was designed to be played alone but people kept teleporting to their friend to help them complete it. This was causing the tutorial to break, it also happened when you left in between an enemy wave animation or if your game crashes during the tutorial. You won't see any difference visually but it is now a lot more robust. It was important to us to change it but we understand now why so many games avoid having their tutorial multiplayer. If you had issues at this point and want to try the game again please reconnect and try it!
You lumberjack helper or miner donβt work? You can now slap them back to work! This will be a temporary fix while we figure out a better solution for their behavior. So if they get stuck somewhere Slap them! If they look around doing nothing, Slap them! But donβt slap them if you forgot to empty their ressources rack ;-) Thatβs on you poor helpers.

We know the current friend list is difficult to use. We didn't have the time to work on it this week as we had to focus on latency optimization. To temporarily help with the problem we added a new command. Use /addfriend to add a friend to your friend list automatically. No more scrolling through the mile long list. Then you can teleport to them easily and party up. We will make the process even easier and more streamlined soon, we promised. But right now itβs a quick fix :-D.
Merchants are now easier to find with a yellow exclamation point over their head.

Fixed the exit map portal (the tents). It was resetting your map wrong and you started the game with no resources and a wave already incoming. Now itβs back to normal.

Citywars Tower Defense first official update!

We, Darkirby3 and Linkupdated are really happy to bring you the first official update of Citywars Tower Defense! We first want to thank you guys for the huge interest toward our little project. We could not have wished for more at this point. (No really stop, you're so many on our poor server it barely holds up! XD ). The last 48 hours were a roller coaster of excitement and panic as we saw all of you flooding the game in such great numbers! A steady flow of 200 players were in the game at all times when we expected 50 to 70. Thank you so much!
But with an unexpectedly successful game comes a bunch of unexpected issues. For us it was big lag spikes issues. When we got to 200 concurrent players the server experienced problems and as much as we optimized it before it was not enough.
But fear not! We will always protect the Massively multiplayer! You will soon be able to enjoy even more streamlined gameplay and less lags issues as we keep fixing and updating the game.
Here's what we have done so far. To ease the pain of our poor server we have bought a brand new server. Bigger is better! You now have a stronger server set up to pick up the slack and accommodate more players. We optimized the database. We streamlined our maps and music. There is still a lot more to do but we are on the right track to offer the multiplayer experience you deserve guys.
We are so happy to have made the switch during this all nighter shift! Hope you can experience the difference too. We are still working on a solution for all players far away from Canada.
We also improved the feel of the game.
No more blinding white character customization and tutorial map. Sit back and relax in our new and improved tropical island tutorial. Easily set all your basic character features, including his voice (wow :-o !), under the palm tree shade smelling the ocean breeze.
2022 Politically Correct here we come! No more taco, seamen and Rodolf Miller in the chat. We implemented a spam and swear filter to create a more fun and friendly environment in-game. Enjoy the chat and connect with players in the game to try and defeat our most difficult challenges like the secret hidden map of Noblewood. Special thanks to @Fist Bump That provided us with a good list of bad words.

Finally, sorry for everyone who experienced the error of the spooky naked white baby. With the flow of players on our potato server the map corrupted itself and people got stuck inside an empty white area. We fixed the area and completely remade the look of the spawn of the server.
