New Features



  • New Map - Mountain Hall!
    Welcome to the Mountain Hall, where the Petram are made from molten stone. This is a map with twice the enemy spawns so either gear up or grab a friend to beat this level in multiplayer

    More maps will come with up to 4x the enemy streams for more multiplayer fun (or a real single player challenge) What environments would you like to see?


Bugfixes



  • HUGE performance boost for calculating a lot of enemies/projectiles on screen, should run smoother now!


We're hard at work on two big updates to how Cliff & Field works:

  1. We want to make a mode where you build your own path by placing down walls & towers (more like the classic WC3 TDs)
  2. We want to turn it more into a roguelike TD where every run is unique and has a combination of skill and luck to it

1.0.12 - Challenges, UI & improvements


Hail to you Champion!

This version introduces a new concept that'll give you more content and an opportunity to get more gems! We've also been hard at work doing some bottom up optimizations of the game and are happy to tell you it's now running smoother than ever. We're not done yet but it's shaping up every week!

Challenges


Every day, week and month new challenges appear! You're limited to only 5 different towers and can see any level or mode show up. We'll keep developing the challenges to add even more aspects of difficulty to it over time. If you complete challenges you'll be able to get both achievements and more gems.

You'll find challenges right in the main menu and they'll be refreshed automagically!

  • Better formatting of numbers throughout the game! What used to be 123456 will now be 123,456 or even 123k depending on where you'll find it.
  • New main menu UI
  • Profile is now available from the main menu
  • Added a subtitle to the main menu showing when the next update is coming
  • Achievements now store the date they were completed on
  • Added 22 new achievements related to challenges!

Improvements



  • VASTLY improved how collisions are calculated, should make the game much more performant!
  • Made the immune-hit sound less prominent
  • Added an extra check if you've completed achievements on starting the game
  • Changed all the click sounds to new ones!


Bug fixes



  • Fixed a bug where user and player names including special characters or spaces would crash the game
  • Fixed a bug where sound was missing from some of the settings

1.0.11 Boss time!



Hail to you Champion!

1.0.11 is here with a first boss update and some nice minor visual fixes!



New features



  • A new first boss! Say hello to Lord Bismuth - the first of many bosses to come. You'll encounter him on level 40.
  • New particle effect on enemy kill
  • New particle effects on bosses shifting phases
  • New boss-incoming UI effect when you first encounter a new boss


Balancing



  • We've made Boss 4 (the super fast blue ones) have less health (from 11500 to 5000) and it's now moving slower (from 14 base speed to 10 base speed)
  • Reduced the number of Boss 4 spawning on several waves between wave 90 and 100


Bugfixes



  • Fixed a bug where the wrong tab would be selected in the settings menu from the start

  • The Auto-looter upgrade on the Obelisk now works!
  • Fixed a bug that crashed the game on Cirin Docks
  • Fixed how Critical Hit Chance is calculated
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from using the Fireball skill

1.0.9 Enemies + Bug-fixes!



Hello all Champions,

1.0.9 is out with game balancing, better UI, updated enemies and a lot of stability fixes.
Thank you all for playing! It is so fun for us to see the leaderboards and all the feedback you guys bring up!

New features



  • New Obsidian enemies that are immune to lots of things!
  • You can now use the middle mouse button to PING on the map!
  • New +10 gold drops from enemies
  • New player UI in top left corner
  • New sound on calling a wave (sweet little battle drums)
  • Archers no longer cause bleed but have a 5% Critical Hit Chance to deal 2x the damage
  • Snipers also have a 5% Critical Hit Chance


Bugfixes



  • Your level progress now saves between rounds! And all the progress you had before should be put back in (Sorry about that)
  • Reduced the number of fatal crash calls so should crash less!
  • Better stability overall in multiplayer!
  • Sniper upgrades have been renamed
  • Immune sound effects are back in multiplayer
  • Arrows on the path now disappear as they should when loading a save
  • You can now continue on victory
  • Info panel for towers now have white text again


Balancing



  • Drop rate increased to 1% flat
  • You now earn more money for late game enemies
  • Some enemies have had their health adjusted to make progression more even
  • Obelisk tower speed boost reduced to +25% (down from +50%)


Known issues



  • Sometimes a multiplayer game will not sync correctly and won't start for one of the players. If that happens just try again! 60& of the time it works, every time!
  • The auto loot upgrade on the obelisk doesn't work, fixing in an upcoming version
  • Sometimes Mac computers will crash the game if you have denied internet access and it tries to upload your leaderboard score

Multiplayer & Updated Enemies - 1.0.8 is out!



Hello all Champions, happy 2023!
To celebrate the new year we're releasing a very early preview of multiplayer with Cliff & Field! There's LOTS more to do here but we wanted you to get access to try it out while we iron out the last few kinks.



New features



  • MULTIPLAYER! You can now host a lobby and play with your friends (up to 4 people) - note that this is in an early alpha so you might encounter some bugs & issues. Please let us know in our Discord and we'll do our best to fix it!
  • Enemies are updated with new visuals & balancing - there's another big update coming for enemies and bosses but this is a big step from what they used to look like!
  • Rewrote spawning for all enemies and projectiles to be more efficient and faster
  • Temporarily removed the XP boost drop while we build it for multiplayer




Bug fixes



  • Fixed a bug where save files would miss some tower upgrades, should save properly now!
  • Fixed a bug where save games would not delete properly
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Archer upgrade "Arcane Arrows" to have 1 dmg (now 4 dmg)
  • Removed randomness in placement of enemies spawning other enemies
  • Fixed a bug where wave tips would always turn back on
  • Upgraded the Sentry version


Known issues



  • If you have a save from a previous version that you try to load the game MIGHT crash and will delete that save - new saves are not affected!

1.0.7 mac update live!

A new mac version of 1.0.7 is now up to help all on mac who couldn't play since the last update.

What's new



  • You can now save the game! It autosaves after every wave when you've defeated all the enemies!
  • We've now added settings to enable vSync (removes tearing)
  • We've added a setting to remove screen shake!

Known issues


The game sometimes crashes randomly (working on getting this fixed, every crash helps us gather more information, sorry for any inconvenience)

New Features



  • CURSES are here! You'll get cursed on wave 60 and then every 7 waves after that - but the Dark Wizard isn't too evil. You can choose one of three random curses to make every playthrough new and exciting. How far can you make it?
  • The first version of the Bestiary is here! You can now see all tower upgrade lines (although it still needs a lot of polish) if you click the little question mark on a building. More coming soon!
  • Steam Leaderboard for all-time highest wave (with and without revives) and total kills!
  • Certain waves will now give you a tip if you're defeated on that particular wave to help you get further next time


Balancing



  • Made wave 70 spawn enemies much faster!
  • Respeccing skills now cost 100 gems during early access (down from 500)
  • Increased loot drop rate by +100%!
  • Increased size of loot by +33%!
  • Bosses can now NOT be stunned anymore!
  • Wave 99 is now much harder - was way too easy before!


Bugfixes



  • Fixed a bug where the Obelisk didn't help target Cloaked enemies with its upgrade
  • Fixed a bug where the loading screen wouldn't fade to black when starting a game
  • Fixed a bug where the next level upgrade and gem cost was visible on the in-game skill tooltips
  • Fixed so that erratic projectiles are now pointing in the direction they're flying
  • Fixed the wave number that was displaying one wave too high in the last patch
  • Made it so that the little spawn early button now hides if you complete a wave and don't have autoplay next wave on - less confusing!
