Update 1.2.9 - Mobile Cross Platform & Leaderboards
Hello everyone!
Another update we've been working on for a while. We now support full cross platform play between all platforms including play between mobile platforms and PC.
We've also added in leaderboards for each custom hole and included the custom made holes that we made for Mobile in the PC version.
Cross platform between PC and Mobile players. You can now play online with anyone that has the game.
Added holes from the Mobile version to PC.
Leaderboards for each hole and playlist.
Fixed an issue with teleporting when touching the trigger button on Oculus
1.28 - Easter Update
Hello everyone!
Check out the Cloudlands Easter update this week. We've put a few Easter egg "balls" into the pause menu for you to see if you can still keep your scratch golf game going while putting something egg-shaped.
We also took the chance to slip in a few minor fixes and updates.
Added Easter eggs to replace balls in the pause menu.
Can snap turn left and right in editor when previewing your hole if pressing the grip button on Vive or index button on Oculus.
Can query Steam AND Oculus avatars
Can swap microphones while in a room while online
Removed small cubes in hole 18.
Putter hit SFX can now be heard when hitting the ball when using headphones through the Vive headset.
As per user feedback, we've implemented a smaller putter head which you can select from the menu and also infinite mulligans is available. Choosing infinite mulligans will disable certain achievements until you finish the course you're on.
A few other small fixes included.
1.2.6 - Minor Fixes
Fixed an issue where adding search queries to online playlists and then going to holes tab does not resets the search query to default.
Preparing server for GearVR shared holes.
Update to 1.2.5 - Oculus Improvements
We just spent a few days polishing the Oculus build of Cloudlands on Steam. The previous build's controls weren't the greatest and we spent some time making them actually feel good and work better for a smaller play space (forward facing). We recommend switching to Advanced controls in the Settings menu if you're on simplified. This will allow you to rotate your body left/right as well as automatically position the ball slightly in front of your view when you teleport. This way, if you're sitting down, the ball isn't directly underneath your chair.
Update to 1.2.4 - SwayzeExpress Fix!
One of our active contributing users, Danno (>'.')>, made an awesome course concept where all the courses were on 1 "map" and this was copied with different start points and saved into a playlist to essentially allow you the traditional mini golf feel of 18 small holes in one large area. This was awesome but we found an issue with having so many flags in the hole at the same time which caused a game crash. This is now fixed so everyone may now enjoy the SwayzeExpress!
UPDATE:
Looks like 1.2.4 is causing some problems with progressing to the next hole (people are getting stuck after finishing a hole). We've rolled the Steam branch back to 1.2.3 version of the game to fix it temporarily while we fix the 1.2.4 "next hole" bug. I don't recommend playing SwayzeExpress until after we've addressed the issue and pushed another version out.
UPDATE 2:
We've just pushed the fix for this. BuildID 1853745. Thanks everyone!
Update to 1.2.3 - Course Copy Fix
Thanks to one of our tournament players we found a small bug related to the copying of existing courses from our migration from Steam Workshop to our own servers. We've pushed a small fix. Also included is a fix for duplicating pieces which were creating enormously large pieces. Please make sure you're updated to the lastest game version before copying any courses in the editor. Thanks!
Course Editor now available on all Platforms
Hello!
Overnight our team stayed up late migrating all existing Steam Workshop holes over to our new Futuretown content server. What does this mean? It means that now players on other platforms such as Viveport or Oculus Home can now also create and upload courses (previously they were unable to due to the Steam Workshop dependency). This means basically more players and more courses for everyone! Thanks for your patience and I hope this means more mingling between platforms on multiplayer because now all platforms can access the same user created courses.
As usual, if you find any bugs we'd appreciate you posting them in the discussion boards.
Edit:
Our build submissions are still pending with Viveport and Oculus Home but this announcement was primarily outlining that the transition from Steam Workshop to our own content server is completed and we're simply waiting to finalize build submissions on the other platforms.
Course Editor Update.
Hi everyone!
We will be moving all of our custom holes away from Steam Workshop and onto our own asset server next week. Please refrain from uploading any custom made courses after Tuesday, April 25, 2017 11:59PM PST. Any courses uploaded after that date may not be migrated over to our new servers. The migration will allow us to host custom holes for our Viveport and Oculus Home players who were previously unable to connect to Steam Workshop. Thank you!
