Releasing on October 25th
Hey there Coffence players, we are happy to announce that we will be leaving Early Access next week with the debut of online play.
You will finally be able to challenge your friends from around the world to a fight and we can't wait to duel with you guys online!
We will detail the full patch notes when the 1.0 version releases, but we also have a bunch of fixes and a new level debuting for BRAWL mode lined up for release.
A huge thanks to all of you who supported us during our Steam Greenlight and our Early Access phase. Rest assured that 1.0 is not the end for Coffence and we will keep you updated on future content for the game.

New Build Released
Hello Coffee fiends!
We just released a new Coffence build with loads of new features for you to try out.
Here's a short list of what's new:
Story Mode with unlockables
New Levels: Cocoa Beach and Supremo Office
Two new characters: Mocca the caffeinated Canine and the mysterious Cupernicus.
Six new cups to unlock!
Completely Remade menu, character and cup select.
Complete rework of pretty much every system.
New mechanic: Perfect Block. Release block right before impact to deal damage to the attacker.
It's been a long road to get here, but we now have a very solid foundation to iterate and continue our work on the game.
We are heading to PAX West this week, so expect some smaller updates with bugfixes through the week as we stabilize the game as much as possible.

Some news!
Hey there coffee fans, it's bean far too long!
We've been very silent for the past year and we want to apologize for the lack of news on the project, but we want you all to know that Coffence is still alive and some new content is coming to Steam very soon.
What exactly happened in that time? To upgrade our technology we had to remake a large chunk of the game which took far longer than we would have liked or expected. On the flipside, we now have much better performances and a far more stable product in general; which means that all this effort was not in vain!
Of course, this is not the only thing we have been working on. The next build will include the debut of Story Mode, unlockable cups, new characters, new levels and Steam achievements as well as numerous upgrades to pretty much every aspects of the game.
You won't have to wait much longer to try this out: we expect to release the build by next week.
Once again, we are sorry for the lack of communication, and we will do our best to keep you updated on the game's progress from now on.

Instant Rematch, D-Pad Controls and BRAWL mode upgrades!
Hey there Coffencers! Hope you had a great week. We have just released our latest build to live which comes with a bunch of upgrades as well as tweaks and fixes. Here’s a quick overview of what’s new:
New Brawl Maps Layout
We changed the layout for Brawl’s Mother Bean level and added some new platforms on brawl’s version of pirates of the Carabean. We are playing with the idea of added verticality and we will iterate on it more in the coming updates. Be warned that AI currently have a hard time with platforming, but this should be fixed soon!
Instant Rematch
You can now settle the score with your friends without waiting for a pesky loading screen between matches. We also keep the total number of victories for players between matches as a small bonus.
D-Pad Controls
A much requested feature from our time at EVO! You can now use the D-Pad for character movements.
Coffee Break Tweaks
We changed the input for the coffee break and we now prevent players from drinking more coffee when already powered. Coffee drops also freeze correctly in the air during the coffee break animation now.
Different Character Skins
When players choose the same characters, they will have a different color scheme to help differentiate players even more.
Collision Improvements
Our previous collisions could create some awkward situations when players where to close to each other. Hits would sometime not connect with your enemy because the attack was going past the opponent’s cup.
Audio Options
You can tweak multiple sound channels individually in the option menu.
We also fixed a freeze that could occur in the main menu and many other smaller bugs all around. We hope you enjoy this new release and don’t forget to report any issue you might discover with this new patch. Have a great weekend!
Aiming Reticle and Gameplay Progress
Hey there Coffencers! We got a big new update coming today that continues our work on making the gameplay of Coffence clearer, more fun and more polished overall. We got new feedbacks, balancing tweaks and an aiming reticle all coming in with this update. Let’s take a closer look!
Details:
Added an aiming reticle: This is something we got asked about a few times and we think it makes the whole targeting aspect of Coffence much more intuitive. Give us your feedback!
Coffee Break Overhaul: Coffee Break was kind of an obscure mechanic in the past. We added some much need feedback when someone uses it in the form of an animation and some awesome effects. We will add to the Coffee Break in the coming updates.
Blocking Feedback: Blocking now has its own animation and plays a distinct sound. This should help clarify what happened when someone pulls off a last-minute block.
Characters work: New VFX, New Sound effects and more differentiation for characters. This is still ongoing but should already be a big step up from previous versions.
Bug Fixing: As always, we fixed a lot of issues all over the place that should make the game more enjoyable overall.
We think this update is a big step toward making Coffence easier to play but also deeper in it’s underlying mechanics. As always, tell us what you like or dislike about the latest advancements in the forum or below this announcement!

Gameplay Rework and Tutorials!
Hello Coffencers! We have a juicy new update for you today: We have a Basic and Advanced tutorial, gameplay rework for the melee attack, new visual effects for clearer feedback, rebalancing of cups and a beginning of stats differentiation for characters among many fixes and tweaks.
Here’s the detailed change list
Added Tutorial menu with both basic and advanced tutorials. Added
Melee Attack rework: You now drive forward while attacking. The length of the attack depends on how long you hold the melee button. You can also chain together melee attacks for a quick combo.
Cups Rebalancing: Following player feedback, we changed some of the cups stats and narrowed the gap between the smallest cup to the biggest in term of coffee capacity.
Character Differentiation start: We have started giving different stats to characters including jump height, dash speed, walk speed, number of successive melee attack and melee attack range among other.
New VFX for clearer feedback on many attacks and actions.
You can now drop down from platforms in BRAWL by holding downward and A or Shift on keyboard.
Every player can now pause and control the pause menu.
Many small bugs fix all around for a smoother experience.
That’s it for today. We are still completely focused on reworking the aspects of the gameplay that need polish and better feedback. You can expect to see more of this very soon.

Less agressive AI and How to play menu added
Hello Coffencers!
After some of your feedback on the AI (and our own experience with it) we made them less agressive overall. This should make the game far more accessible for new players on lower difficulty levels.
We also added a How to Play section in the main menu that contains some very useful informations on playing Coffence. This is just the beginning of what we want to offer to help new players learn the game, we are currently working on a playable tutorial that will go in-depth on all the game's mechanics.
We also have bug fixes and tweaks aplenty, here's an overview of what's new:
-AI is less agressive and is now defaulted at skill level 3.
-Added How to Play in Main Menu.
-Fixed bug where camera would start underground or far from the action.
-Fixed Menu related bugs when selecting a cup.
-Visual tweaks to green bean valley.
-Made the slide move faster and snappier.
-Result Screen should now behave like any other menus on the keyboard.

Our next priority is to tweak the basic gameplay loop and make it more polished and more satisfying overall.

To celebrate Coffence being on sale, we just pushed a update that fix some of the issues present in the previous update while adding Steam Trading Cards to the game.. This is mostly about menu flow, but we also added resolution support and some visual upgrades. Here's a list:
-Added resolution change support in option menu.
-Fixed multiple UI bug in main menu.
-Pause menu now behaves correctly with keyboard controls.
-Added "Block Broken" VFX for additional feedback.
-Added VFX that highlight selections in the main menu to make it clearer.
-Coffee Break no longuer slows the user, only the opponent.
