Fixes

  • When you were connected to someone, energy was not wasted when firing from the Railgun
  • The level icon for the flamethrower was not displayed

Fixes

  • When spectating the AI, the flame from the flamethrower was always only on the left (visual bug)
  • Sometimes Gear projectiles were missing when other players were shooting (visual bug)
  • If the connection was bad, "empty" robots could be present on the map
  • Flame quality didn't scale on different graphics settings
  • The flamethrower was not taken into account when resetting the robot
  • Sometimes cars could pass through walls


Changes

  • After resetting the robot, prices will also be updated
  • Accumulated points at the end of the game are directly converted into botcoins (match time no longer counts)
  • Max points for all modes will no longer scale based on the max number of players
  • Reduced match time in Deathmatch to 5 minutes
  • Complicated conditions for extending the match if the teams have a disputed score


New

  • The entire collision of buildings and objects on the Megapolis map has been reworked (more optimized and significantly reduces the possibility of getting stuck somewhere)
  • Reworked all visual effects (now they are low poly mesh based)


Transition to paid distribution

  • Removed all DLC
  • Premium robot colors are now available to everyone
  • Premium users will receive a unique hat
  • Existing Techboxes will remain on the account, but it is recommended to use them


You may also notice that the reviews have been reset to zero, which is required by Steam rules due to the transition to paid distribution, so if you have not done this before, it would be great if you leave your review.

Developer announcement

Hi all! This is zoty the developer of Combots.

Due to numerous complaints about DLCs that have the makings of P2W, I decided to remove all existing DLCs and just make the game paid.

Everyone who has Premium will receive a permanent unique hat (You will need to log into the game at least once within a month after the changes, but if you have a premium color selected on any of the robots, then you can not do this).

Current TechBoxes on accounts will remain, but it is recommended to use them.
For anyone who already has Combots in their library, the game will remain free.

The changes take effect in about a week.

UPDATE 8.6.0

Flamethrower Fixes & Changes

  • Damage dealt was displayed incorrectly
  • There was very low damage on TechSphere
  • Increased burning time
  • Reduced burning damage
  • Increased damage on direct contact


General Fixes

  • Couldn't spawn in the first round of Elimination Mode
  • Incorrect camera rotation on first respawn
  • After update 8.4.0 AI robots fired slightly above the target
  • When using two Railguns, there was no aiming animation for the second


General changes

  • In Elimination mode, a respawn window will appear every round
  • The building spawn animation is back again and has been slightly tweaked

Fixed

  • Sometimes the 3rd person camera could pass through some surfaces
  • Shadows were missing on own robot when using 3rd person camera
  • The 3rd person camera "twitched" when another robot passed behind or when TechSphere was used
  • When using the 1st person camera and Trak bot, some weapons could have parts of the Laser
  • Games were not created in offline mode
  • The grenade launcher ammo icons displayed in the kill window have been shifted slightly to the left


Physical Changes

  • Improved interaction of physical objects with projectiles
  • On the Egypt map, rocks and small buildings now simulate physics
  • Added weightless physical ice shards to the Ice Moon map


General changes

  • Removed building spawn animation
  • Improved the generation of ice shards on the Ice Moon map
  • Egypt and Ice Moon are now round
  • The respawn screen now also appears at the start of the game
  • Removed the hologram effect present on Trak weapons in first person
  • Decreased the time to display the kill screen, thereby reducing the time to respawn

3rd person camera changes

  • The camera will no longer clip through map boundaries
  • Improved bot hiding when the camera is very close to the bot
  • The bot will also hide while aiming with the Railgun

Fixed

  • Explosive damage was dealt through walls and shields if the target was within the blast radius
  • When using different weapons on the Drone, the ion cannon and rocket launcher did not fire
  • Sometimes undeploment and invulnerable TechSpheres could be present on the map
  • The turret did not fire near or through the control points


Bot Movement Speed Changes

  • Significantly increased for TRAK
  • Slightly reduced for Drone
  • Slightly increased for Axel and Walker


Projectile knockback changes

  • Again does not depend on damage (only the weight of the bot is taken into account)
  • Now there are only 3 types of knockback:
    - Weak, from non-explosive projectiles
    - Medium, from explosive shells
    - Strong, from own explosive projectiles


Cluster Launcher Changes

  • Increased area of damage and cluster explosion radius
  • Increased the number of clusters
  • Increased the damage dealt by the cluster


TechSphere Changes

  • Increased reload time
  • Most TechSpheres now have a small frontal shield with 100 health
  • TechSphere shield no longer has a time limit, but has a durability equal to 1000 health
  • Reduced visibility of lasers near mines


General changes

  • Increased the amount of maximum energy for all robots
  • Increased the amount of health for all robots
  • Updated localization


Added

  • Ability to play in third person (Default C key)

  • The new cosmetic bar has not been localized
  • Laser did not drop in TechBoxes
  • Long item names could go beyond the TechBoxes window
  • Enemy weapon level was not displayed on the kill screen

  • The first weapon for each bot will be random (the laser also needs to be unlocked)
