What's next?

We will work on polishing what we have here, adding more furniture, food and crafting options. Then it's on to role play + jobs. We wanted Jobs to make it in to this update, but there was already so many changes going in, it would make more sense to polish this first.

The skinny on 0.1.1

Hello all!

0.1.1 will hit beta branch Tuesday the 6th, instead of the 5th as intended.n Slight change of plans..

It's been a very busy week for us! There were several internal bugs to squash (not to mention the bugs you've all reported so far, thank you for helping us to make a better game!)

We had crashes that set us back several hours, but we are determined!

Thank you all for sticking with us so far. 0.1.1 will change up the dynamic of the game a little bit. :)

Another status update (0.1.1)

Hello all. Due to an issue that we are currently working through with update 0.1.1, it will be moved to release on monday.

Here is a few of the things you can expect in the 0.1.1 update:

Horses!
The start of crafting!
The start of survival!
The first in game job, the builder. You will have to build things to level up in your job, and unlock perks related to it.

This update will hit the beta branch Monday, if all goes according to plan.

And now, a sneak peek of the new map:

Status update! 0.1.0 hitting main branch

Hello all! I have news to bare!

0.1.0 has landed on the main branch! It is now stable enough to warrant it! We will continue working on stability in this week, but...That's not the only thing happening...

0.1.1 is coming, bringing polish, a new map, and a new method of getting around!

You can all expect 0.1.1 to hit the beta branch Thursday, bringing loads of changes + fixes.

Patch 0.1.0 Hot Fix + status updates!

During testing, we found bugs with version 0.1.0, so we decided to hold off on pushing it to the main branch.

We've released a patch for the beta branch that has fixed all the bugs we could find, but we are going to test it one more day before releasing it to the main branch!

If you want to help make the game better, please keep telling us about those bugs! Thank you all for your help in making this game even more awesome.

Patch 0.1.0 Hot fix

  • Fixed an issue where the mega shop would make you stuck sometimes
  • Fixed an issue with the mouse disappearing when it shouldn't
  • Fixed an issue with saving and loading
  • Adjusted day/night to be even better. Night is brighter, and lighting is a tad more realistic.
  • Fixed incorrect images on some items.

Patch 0.1.0

The update is now out on the beta branch! Those on the main branch will be getting it tomorrow evening, While beta branch gets 0.1.1. Double update duty!

Patch 0.1.0 Changes

  • Added option to game settings to disable/enable build mode entirely, allowing you to directly work with walls and floors. The new default is disabling build mode, you can enable the setting to restore the previous behavior.
  • You can now hold E (The interact key) to bring up the context menu. Pressing the E key quickly still uses the item. This should make it easier for new players.
  • Made the customizer even more pretty. UI WORK TO THE EXTREME! Bonus points if you can tell us what's different about the material selector.
  • Added a Fir Tree! It can be found under decorative in the shop. This is the first of many items coming.
  • Added Hunger! It'll show up in your stats menu from here on. If it goes down too low, you'll start taking damage. This can be disabled in world options when starting a game.
  • Added Food! More things to eat will be updated during this week. You can eat items only from inventory right now. Later, we will add the option to eat food in the world, like at the table, for example. Great for roleplaying!
  • Added Crops! You can plant your food instead of buying it now, if you want to live cheap. These crops can be found at the NEW Food & Farm Marketplace in the Commerceville, found by staying on the main road from spawn, across from the bank.
  • Added a new loading screen! This will be updated and improved even further in the coming weeks.
  • Added notifications to tell you when you're tired, when you're hungry, etc.
  • Redid the furniture shop to be more attractive! Just look at that screenshot!
  • Fixed an issue where the health bar would not change if you took damage. Speaking of which...
  • Added effects for taking damage. You and everybody else will know when you're hurt!
  • Fixed the ragdoll, it should be much more appealing to die now. We recommend testing it out, perfably on a friend?
  • Added Orange berries! They make you move faster. I'd suggest farming those like crazy.
  • Fixed sound effects on curtains and various objects.
  • Overall polish added across the board.
  • Fixed an inconsistancy in Comerceville's name.

What's next?

1.1 Highlights:

  • Optimization, so the game runs smoother for everyone.
  • Furniture! Anybody want an even more messy house!?
  • More food options!

Hope you all had a very awesome thanksgiving! :)

Patch 0.0.9c

Once again, It's patch time! We've been set back a bit and a tad silent, but only because a huge update is coming and we've been working on framework for it!

Patch 0.0.9c will be the last minor update, then 0.1 is touching down!

Patch 0.0.9c

  • Electronics now save on or off position when you save and load. Same goes for curtains and doors. Everything is now where you left it, how you left it.
  • Redid saving and loading to be much more robust on the back end, allowing us to save more complex things, and more effectively.
  • Fixed an issue where people could move/arrange things that did not belong to them. This also fixed an issue where steal showed up when it should have read "Pick up".
  • Added framework for the next update. Not going to spoil it all. :)

And a spoiler for what's to come:

This will be pushed to beta and the normal branch of Commercium.
From here on, the beta branch will get the new updates, 1-2 days in advance of the normal branch, whilst we cover any minor bugs, and then it will be rotated to the normal branch.

Changes to updates

Hello all! The last update fixed and improved a lot of things, but version 0.0.9b broke a lot of furniture items as well. To prevent this kind of thing from bothering players in the future unless they are interested, There is now TWO Commercium branches, a beta branch and a normal branch.

You can choose between these by right clicking the game in steam, going to properties, the betas tab, and then selecting the beta branch from the drop down box.

As of this post, Everyone will be downgraded to 0.0.9a.

You will have to opt in to the beta to get back on version 0.0.9b

I apologize for this, but it helps prevent messes with updates going forward :)

Version 0.0.9b will go come back to the main branch later in the day of this post, and is still available via the beta branch.

Have fun!
