Hotfix V0.8.5b

Hello! This is just a quick hotfix to fix the "double reload" issue with the blast pistol.

After firing 3 shots, the gun would automatically reload; however, pressing the reload button again would cause the reload timer to start again, slowing the reload process. This should be fixed now.

Also reported were rare occasions where the pistol could be "bricked". I was not able to replicate this but as a side effect of the bug fix above I believe this is also fixed as it is likely related. If you do encounter any issues please report them to the bug report sticky in the Steam forums.

Changelog:

  • Slightly reduced laser audio to match levels of other weapons

BLAST PISTOL UPDATE (v0.5.8)



The R&D department whipped this up after executives wanted an easy way to dispatch of middle managers who failed to reach their sales goals. While much more powerful than a regular Plasma Pistol, the range was intentionally limited to ensure stray bullets wouldn't damage the expensive paintings of themselves on the office walls. Must be manually cooled. Once unlocked, there is a 50% chance a Blast Pistol will spawn in place of a standard Plasma Pistol.

Sonic Pulse Generator (V0.5.7)



Introducing the Sonic Pulse Generator (SPG)! This weapon is radically different to anything that has come before; it cannot fire projectiles itself, but you can use its shock wave to amplify and redirect enemy projectiles. Use it offensively by redirecting enemy projectiles back at them or directly damage enemies with the shock wave, or use it defensively by deflecting projectiles that would otherwise hit you.

Sticky Grenade Launcher (v0.5.6)



Introducing the Sticky Grenade Launcher!


An explosive weapon for advanced players, it can fire up to four 'sticky' grenades that will attach themselves to any enemy or surface. When you reload, the grenades will detonate. This weapon takes a lot of experience and skill to use effectively but is lots of fun. Unlock it by reaching the boss area! :D

NEW/CHANGED:

  • Bouncer and dart bullets now home in on practice targets
  • Removed Syringes left on HQ floor when testing (oops)

DART GUN UPDATE (V0.5.4)



This update adds a new Dart Gun weapon, and the beginnings of an unlock / progression system!



Introducing the Dart Gun!
The first of a new wave of unlockable weapons I will be adding to the game. This new weapon fires 7 homing projectiles that seek out enemies. The low damage and expensive ammo cost make it impractical to use against tougher enemies unless in a pinch, but nothing beats the dart gun for guaranteed hits on pesky drones and soldiers, which you can attack from behind cover if you are clever enough. Also surprisingly effective against the boss, who takes extra damage from red-type weapons. For now you can unlock the dart gun by reaching the Lab levels.

Change List

  • Added Dart Gun (Unlock by reaching The Labs)
  • Fixed boss battle when using Gun Magnet (Ammo vendors now spit out guns instead of ammo)
  • Increase Gun Magnet drop rate for easy and medium so you run out of weapons less on the later levels.

MUTATOR UPDATE (V0.5.3)



New Game Mechanic


Inject yourself with a mutator and it changes how COMPOUND plays.
Don't like needles? A 'No Needle' mode is also available (replaces needles with party poppers).

Currently there are three mutators; many, more sophisticated mutators are on the way. The current mutators are semi-placeholder and are bound to change and improve.

Current Mutators:



GUN MAGNET (disposable guns!)

  • + Enemies drop weapons
  • - No ammo drops / reloading


DAMAGE AMPLIFIER (Hotline Miami, in VR!)

  • + All enemies die with one shot
  • - You die with one shot


PEOPLE POPULATOR (More chaos!)

  • + Enemies have less HP
  • + Faster bullets
  • - More enemies


NEW/CHANGED:

  • Added 3 game mutators: GUN MAGNET, DAMAGE AMPLIFIER, and PEOPLE POPULATOR
  • Wrist teleporter can now be used when dual wielding!
  • Mutator vending machine in HQ
  • Shower in HQ (use to cleanse mutations)
  • Fridge in HQ now open, filled with milk (just a visual upgrade at this stage)
  • Option to replace needles with party poppers
  • Active mutator displays on wrist HUD
  • Better map portals for debug mode (shooting range now doubles as teleporter area when debug mode enabled)

TURNING UPDATE (V0.5.2)



I wanted to get this update out while I work on a more interesting and game changing feature, coming soon! This update will be a ... turning point ... (sorry) for those users having troubles setting up turning. No longer do you have to mess with the input editor; it's now a simple option in the in-game menu. Much better!

New/Changed:

  • Snap turning is now much easier to configure for all users - can be enabled / disabled from the in-game menu without needing to edit the bindings
  • Front facing arrow can be manually enabled / disabled from the in-game menu
  • Turning settings are now queried and auto-configured for new users on first boot
  • Added a little hint of what's coming...


Fixed:

  • Fixed being able to drink from bottles without turning them upside down (taking a "swig")

INDEX FINGER TRACKING UPDATE (V0.5.1)



NEW / CHANGED:
