DEVELOPER DIARY 11: REINFORCEMENTS INBOUND

+ + + + DEV DIARY: ENTRY 11 + + + +

It's been sometime since the last Dev-Diary was posted, this being the first one for the year. In recent months the teams have been releasing a steady stream of updates, making sure to strike a balance in all areas of the game and providing the playerbase with a unique experience that is the Conflict of Nations game! While we're constantly refining the way you interact and play against one another, we have many other exciting tasks and plans in the pipeline for future releases. We intend on expanding the team, which in turn allows us to provide you with fresh and much requested future content!
Without further ado, here's what we're working on as of writing this:

New and Improved Map

Since Nationalization has been disabled, the Overkill map has been taken off rotation for a general overhaul. After two months of tweaks and improvements, it is about to make its debut. This latest iteration will feature the world map with up to 128 playable nations. Sea province names are also going to be introduced for Overkill (similar to World War 3) allowing you to identify these provinces in the Events notifications.

Mobile Development

Development for the mobile application is well underway, to speed up the process and juggle development tasks we are calling in reinforcements to assist us with Mobile development. Migrating our game (or any game, for the matter) over to a mobile platform is no small undertaking, so this is a big development project which has a lot of resources allocated-to.

Map Events / Map Rotation

With Easter over, we are returning to a weekly/weekend rotation of maps to keep content fresh. Be sure to keep an eye out on weekends for special maps that are only available during that period!

Bug fixes

We have identified rare occurrences of players having issues with Air Combat, Missiles, or general anomalies related to aircraft which may occur. Developers are working on fixes which are prepared for release this week which should address any air combat/craft issues you come across.

With all this being said, I hope you've been enjoying the steady flow of changes to CoN, we listen to your feedback and welcome players into the community channels. We have dedicated Staff and core players who would be more than happy to make your acquaintance :)

GENERAL UPDATE (190403)

+ + + + GENERAL UPDATE + + + +

Dear players,

We hope you've been enjoying the recent scenario rotations and international spirit of play! It should be easier to communicate with one another now since the last update. This update introduces many refinements and changes to refresh the game. One of the changes you will most definitely come across is that of disembarkation time, with it being increased across the board exclusively in Foreign Territory. This change has been made to prevent players from being made susceptible to rush tactics in the early game. In a further effort to combat tactic this we've set up level 1 bunkers in all player Capitals for the World War 3 Map. Other changes you will see are; an increased Spy limit per city (now limited to 3), and Sea Provinces being assigned a unique identifier per province which will also be used in the Event notifications for easier navigation.

GENERAL UPDATE (190221)

+ + + + GENERAL UPDATE + + + +

Today's release addresses several issues that have been reported by the community, such as disproportional damage dealt to disembarking units, wrong unit names being displayed in notifications, and more. From a balancing perspective, Nationalization and Officers are in the spotlight today. The times to nationalize a city and relocate Headquarters have been increased with the primary goal of restoring their strategic value. For Officers, hit-points have received some love and mobilization costs have been reduced. Finally, we've added some quality of life changes: We've updated the descriptions of units with radar capabilities, detailing which units they can detect, and recolored notifications to make it easier to spot positive/negative events.

As always, thank you for your continued feedback and support!

GENERAL UPDATE (190207)

+ + + + UPDATE + + + +

Dear players,

today we are releasing a new map for our alliance challenges based on the beautiful islands of Malta - the Heart of the Mediterranean (also known as the unsinkable Aircraft Carrier in WW2). We hope you enjoy this slightly tongue in cheek approach to our home country and don't get your troops bogged down with to much Cisk and Pastizz! Disclaimer for all connoisseurs of our nation: we do not claim any historical or political correctness in our depiction, neither historical nor contemporary.
