From now until January 27, flex your rhyming muscles in our poetry contest.
The rules are simple—-write a short rhyming poem (no longer than four lines) about your heroism and adventures in Conqueror’s Blade.
The prizes up for grabs for the top three poems include Sovereigns, Premium Account Time, Lotus Water, and Paladin Hero Attire!
Get inspired by the 13th-century Persian poet Rumi, who penned odes about love, loss, and longing with a mystical twist;
We are as the flute, and the music in us is from thee; we are as the mountain and the echo in us is from thee. We are as pieces of chess engaged in victory and defeat: our victory and defeat is from thee, O thou whose qualities are comely!
Make sure to enter your epic poem via the contest Discord channel before January 27 (23:59 CET)!
Server downtime - January 12

Behind The Scenes: Creating Camels
Camels rode into Conqueror’s Blade: Scorpio in December and have cemented themselves in the hearts of commanders worldwide. These humped mounts heralded the start of a new age, where assassins roam and sandstorms beat down on the people of this arid land.
We spoke to the game designers at Booming Tech about all things camels, from initial idea to existence.
Why did Conqueror’s Blade: Scorpio feel like the right time to add camels to the game?
Being an animal of the desert, camels fit the theme of the Scorpio season like a glove. Our plan was always to flesh out our roster of calvary units in Scorpio, and the unique features of camels were a solid option. Camels have been used in warfare across history, but they had yet to make an appearance in a playable form in Conqueror's Blade, and we felt that they would bring more fun to the game.
Which came first—-the idea to implement camels or the Season theme? Was one implemented to fit around the other?
We came up with the Season's theme first. Each Season works as a complete mould, and units are but a part of this mould.
Talk us through the process of designing the camels, from models to completion.
The camels stood out among our many designs and it was a new unit we really wanted to bring our players. Once we knew that, we completed the design by looking at their historical background, role in battle, weapons, armour, and combat method. We decided to go with a heavily-armoured, lance-wielding cavalry. Camels are big, and so with their heavy armour, we really want to emphasise their endurance. That's why the Camel Lancers have fairly good defence and resistance to daze. Plus, looking at the current meta, we wanted to add an anti-cavalry unit with high mobility to bring about some change.
The Camel Lancers are a new kind of cavalry on the battlefield, how do you think they measure up to standard horse cavalries?
The Camel Lancers are bigger than our standard horse cavalries and heavily armoured. We wanted to express their thick armour and skin by enabling them to retain their posture while attacked. Considering their movement; while camels can march for long periods of time under harsh conditions, they tend to move slower than horses, so naturally, their charges will not be as impactful. That's why the Camel Lancers don't have a charge skill and have reduced movement speed while in formation. Owing to these two points, we tried to make the Camel Lancers a unique cavalry unit to add to the roster.
We've seen hounds of the highlands, and now camels—-will we see more animals enter the fray in Conqueror's Blade down the line?
By looking at history, we can see the usage of animals in battle for more or less every region and civilization, whether from historical accounts or tales of legend. Anecdotes like these serve as important inspirations for Conqueror's Blade, and we're bound to try more of these in the future to have more interesting units join the fray.
Are the camels Bactrian or Dromedary?
Dromedary.
Camels scare horses, but what do you think would scare camels?
Fire is deadly to camels, and fire attacks will easily frighten camels. While the Camel Lancers counter cavalry, they can effectively be taken down by high-damage infantry. Finally, when the Camel Lancers use their Barricade Order to block enemy attacks, it will be easy for the enemy to have ranged units concentrate their fire on them.

Conqueror’s Tales: Presents of the Past
Christmas Day has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean the festive season is over! If you still have gifts to give (or receive) maybe you need some inspiration from gift-givers of yore to make sure your presents are full of the wonder of holidays’ past.
Join us as we explore just what kind of gifts ancient merrymakers were giving to each other, and offer up some present-day alternatives.
Food
Food was as popular a gift in the past as it is today, and the tradition of presenting treats to your loved ones dates back to Rome. Kalends, a Roman feasting festival that took place in January, was a time for presenting tokens of good fortune and luck for the year ahead; in the form of food! Everything from baked goods to figs and honey were gifted.
Food also played an important part in the Christmas celebrations of the medieval era. Peasants would bring their best fowl to place on their lord’s table as a gift. One such record exists claiming that the monks of Christ Church Canterbury gave the archbishop a whopping 785 hens for Christmas, which he then gave away to hospitals and surrounding monasteries.
Past: Fowl & figs
Present: A nice biscuit selection box
Toys
Toys for good children are still commonplace today as a popular Christmas gift, but this practice dates all the way back to the Roman festival of Saturnalia. Children would be given wax dolls—with a darker meaning than exists now. Historians believe the giving of wax dolls may have been leftover from a fertility ritual once linked to Saturnalia, in which sacrificing children was a component. We’d prefer a lump of coal, thanks!
Victorians practically wrote the book on Christmas traditions, and gift-giving was no exception. Children would receive homemade presents, usually dolls, until factory-made wooden toys were introduced.
Past: Wooden or wax toys
Present: Plastic toys (not handmade)
A Victorian-era child atop a dappled rocking horse
Books
Books remain a popular gift today, whether they’re a paperback thriller, a must-listen audiobook, or a celebrity autobiography. However, during Henry VIII’s era, books were given to curry favour, not just entertain their recipient. John Leland, Henry VIII’s antiquary, gave the King a book as a “New Year’s Gift”, which included details of his travels and accounts from the past year (so… meaningful?). Leland probably hoped to gain further support for his work from Henry thanks to this nifty gift.
Past: A biography of your year written by your servant
Present: A New York Times Bestseller novel
Cash
Who doesn’t love opening up a card to find a crisp note of legal tender? Even medieval serfs gained financially during the holidays—they would often receive gifts of cash from their employer or lord. Henry VIII’s Letters and Papers tell the tale of one particularly generous employer, who gifted his servant 2,000 pounds in gold.
Past: 2,000lb in gold
Present: £20
We hope we’ve inspired your gift-giving, and perhaps your own wishlist too. Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year from Conqueror’s Blade!

Unit Guide: Hashashins (5-Star)
The Hashashins are now available to add to your band of assassins. Unlock this dedicated and deadly Unit in Conqueror’s Blade: Scorpio now via new Unit Challenges!
Unlocking
The Hashashins can be unlocked by completing Unit Challenges and come with a Seasonal Bonus in the form of Leadership requirements decreased by 10 points for the duration of the Season.
Background
The Hashashins serve proudly as honoured assassins for the Shahiri army and are highly trained in agility. Their loyalty is second only to their stealth, and they can strike from the cover of smoke with ease.
Each soldier is capable of obliterating enemy troops with ease, allowing their commander to break through defences to battle enemy Heroes.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Stealth is the Hashashins’ greatest weapon. They can utilise their special smoke bomb ability to cover their tracks and prepare for an ambush. When they’re ready to strike, they unleash highly damaging attacks.
The Unit deals significantly less damage to enemy Heroes, meaning they should be used strategically to break down their corps. Beware of spending Action Points to execute Orders too soon in a battle, as they only recover by one point every six seconds.
Just the facts: Hashashins (5-Star)
Formations
Dispersed: The Unit spreads out to avoid ranged attacks and artillery.
Three Ranks: Soldiers form a dense three-stage formation to resist enemies ahead.
Unit Traits
Desert Warriors: Leadership cost is reduced by 10 points while the Scorpio Season is active.
Shadow Walk: The Hashashins canutilise smoke bombs and daggers to string lethal and stealthy attacks together.
Liquidators: The Unit recovers one Action Point every six seconds for use with Eviscerate and Prowl.
Damage Penalty vs. Heroes: The Unit deals 50% less damage to Heroes.
Unit Orders
Prowl: The Hashashins approach a designated area, breaking through all obstacles along the way. They will then hunt down the target and inflict a high amount of damage. Costs Action Points.
Eviscerate: The Unit will automatically search for targets to attack nearby and deal a high amount of damage. Costs Action Points.
Smoke Bomb: The Unit throws a special smoke weapon at the enemy. It doesn’t inflict damage, but the chances of being targeted while in the smoke are greatly reduced.
The Hashashins are now available to unlock via Unit Challenges!
NOTE: The above information is correct as of the time of publication. Please check in-game for the most up-to-date Unit information.
