Patch 0.01.017 Is Live

Just wanted to make a few adjustments based on some recent feedback.
- Jump Scares are by default set to "On".
- Added Voice Acting back in during most evidence collection. There is an option to toggle the Voice Acting in the Settings Menu now.

Short Term Goals for Upcoming Patches (Part 2)

I greatly appreciate everyone’s support and feedback because this is what’s fueling our progress.
After trying to summarize feedback, I established another set of goals. I would love to hear your feedback!

• Improve user interface functionality (Example: Smoother interactions with interactable objects).
• Finish Polk St.
• Implement and complete Jefferson St.
• Identify and implement optimization opportunities.
• Improve visuals for user interface (Examples: Visuals for available locations on interactable map, Tone down the brightness of user notes).
• Further define difference between houses and locations. Houses are currently designed to be a focused investigative experience based on the homeowner's concerns, with one ghost per instance. Locations for now, have been conceptualized to be large areas with multiple ghosts with the goal of collecting as much evidence as possible. The goal is not to find specific ghosts, like while investigating a house, but to track how many times the player completes a successful investigation (Gold-Trophy). We would like locations to be large and have multiple ghosts and many more to potentially spawn. Additionally, we would like for players to learn about the location’s history. This could help shed light on where to investigate. The focus for locations, is not to identify specific ghost, but rather tallying how many successful (Gold-Trophy) investigations has the player achieved. Obviously, there are many details to work out here, but I’m super excited about how this could evolve.

Of course, there have been other very individualized issues and those are just as important to resolve. We will get to those.

Patch 0.01.016 is now live!

- Revised behaviors for recorder and camera. Audio and Visual evidence should now be easier to obtain.
- Eliminated voice acting lines from equipment usage and added sound effects to signify paranormal events.
- Revised "How to Play" pamphlet to reflect changes.
- Revised Digital Camera model and associated sound effects.
- Added sounds effect for all equipment when equipping and unequipping.
- Adjusted minor environmental items.
- Fix bug where Frame Rate in settings menu could not be saved.
- Jump scares are by default "Off" now but can be turned on in the settings menu.

0.01.015 Patch appended

Minor modification to ghosts behaviors

Patch 0.01.015 is available

- Various typos corrected.
- Several atmospheric effects have been adjusted focused on improving performance (Primarily focused on lighting, fog, and clouds).

Patch 0.01.014 is available

- Blue light on EMF meter was corrected.
- Revised ghosts scoring system (player still only sees gold, silver, and/or bronze) and implemented player reputation score (behind the scenes for now, used to unlock locations and maybe other things…).
All ghosts have a base stat system. Depending on the ghost and its behaviors, these stats will vary. Similar to an RPG like Strength and Intelligence vs Warriors and Wizards. Collecting evidence will excite all ghost and evidence modifiers are applied accordingly. Also, how evidence modifiers are applied vary between ghost and their alleged personalities.
- Implemented new ghost behavior system for all ghost types. (After this update, this change will not take effect until a new mission is started).
- Revised Notes menu to compliment the scoring system. Also, eliminated ghost type info from "notes" and modified descriptions to the ghost book. This is to not clutter up the notes page but allows the player to review the Ghost book to gain an understanding of how to hunt each ghost.
- Revised the Ghost Book to give better clues about how to investigate the different types of ghosts. More diversity is present between ghost now.
- Change temp sensor so it turns on as soon as it's equipped
- Modified EVP system. Greater likelihood of obtaining them.

Patch 0.01.013 is now live!

- Mission spawner is no longer random. The player will sequentially work through the list until all ghosts are found. Once all ghosts have been found it will be random.
- You can now select which ghost you would like to hunt from the found list.
- The jump scares associated with non-paranormal events have been eliminated.
- Resolved the player collisions occurring with the objects thrown by the Poltergeist, resulting in the player getting stuck in the floor at times.
- Corrected the collision with the railing on the side of the house on Evergreen Ln. (Cannot walk through railing anymore).
- Made an adjustment to the notes for the demon ghost on Evergreen Ln. to be more descriptive.
- I know this is cryptic, but no spoilers. More consistency between evidence collected from hunt to hunt.
- Added sound effect to when selecting properties to visit. Same as the start screen.
- Resolved the issue where a player could take a picture of a ghost through objects.
- Corrected typo during EVP playback on question 4. Narrator and subtitles were not consistent. Corrected the text.
- Corrected the issue on Evergreen Ln. where you could hear the outside while up upstairs when the front door was open.

Short Term goals for upcoming patches

Hello everyone! First off, I am so thankful for all of you who are interested in Conrad Stevenson’s Paranormal P.I.

So, after a few days of feedback and trying to summaries things I feel I have developed some short-term goals to focus on. I would love to hear your feedback.

• Revise the note system to reflect the introduction better and quantify evidence better.
• Identify ways of eliminating the need to narrate every action with better visual cues but ensure to maintain atmosphere and realism. For example, when taking a photo, add a camera sound and verification on the camcorder screen. Then eliminate the narrator’s comments.
• Revise scoring system to compliment more spontaneous ghost behaviors. Right now, photo equals a gold trophy. When the ghosts' behaviors are modified and can appear unprovoked, it would be nice to collect a bit more evidence before wrapping up with a gold trophy.
• Change ghost behaviors so they will appear and make noise regardless of evidence. Although, collecting evidence will still enhance activity.
• Make jump scares optional or eliminate.

Patch 0.10.012 is available

-Set the SteamVR "Enablebydefault" to "False", disabling the autostart in steamVR.

-Added some robustness aiming to eliminate the glitch of the ghosts not disappearing and preventing photos from being taken.

-Temp Sensor will stay on until it is unequipped

-Eliminated all narration dialogue after listening to the EVP playback. We will continue dialing back the narration.

-Fixed some typos. It’s “faint” not “feint”.
