Cook Serve Forever Early Access in April, Demo Available Now!
The Cook Serve Forever pre-release demo has arrived! Check it out on the store page ahead of our Steam Next Fest inclusion next month (February 6-13) and Early Access release in April. The year of Cook Serve Forever is almost here! We hope you’ve had a fantastic 2022, and to cap it off we’ve got some special holiday gifts for you.

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! was our team’s first foray into proper storytelling in a game. While we’re very proud of the story we told, its integration into the gameplay meant that only players determined enough to play all the way through the 45+ hour game actually got to experience it. In the indie game industry, we call that a real bummer.

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! Update! Lots of fixes to gamepad controls & more!
Howdy howdy y'all! So as we're looking to future proof CSD 3 for the years to come something we've wanted to do for a while is redo a lot of the gamepad control code, specifically for co-op. There were moments when menus could overlap each other and such, and those problems were much more pronounced when using an xinput controller such as a PS4 pad.
So we've gone in and replaced a lot of the code to better support two gamepads at a time on PC, and fixed the broken xinput gamepad support since our last patch (apologies for that!). Full details are below- and hey, if you haven't wishlisted our next game, Cook Serve Forever, perhaps you could check it out! It's coming very soon and wishlists GREATLY help us!!
Overhauled gamepad support, specifically for two player co-op, to better prevent rare issues with menu overlaps and bugs when using xinput and non-xinput pads.
Fixed xinput gamepad support (such as PS4 gamepads) for single player and co-op.
We plan on releasing a patch in the future that updates the links in the Socials menu as well as adding a "do not show again" toggle for the opening splash box. Thanks so much y'all for all of the support!!
CSD 3 New Patch Released!
Hey everyone! We just released a new CSD 3 build for both PC and Mac, woo! Here's all the changes:
UPDATE: If you are having issues with the Mac build after updating (it will not start and throws a Steam error code) please uninstall and then reinstall the game and that should fix it.
If you update the Mac version, but do not see your save files in the game, they are not deleted! You'll need to copy them over to a new folder like so:
-navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/com.yoyogames.macyoyorunner and copy the .ini files you see there (XS_CSD3_LocalSave.ini). -if it's not there, try looking in ~/Library/Application Support/net.vertigogaming.csdthree -copy these files to ~/Library/Application Support/net.vertigogaming.cookservedelicious3

All Versions
Improved performance by rebuilding the game using the latest Game Maker 2.2 edition, which is why the patch download is so large.
Improved performance in the opening menu screen as well as the first tutorial with changes to the texture loading system.
Replaced opening text splash with a new Cook Serve Forever splash.
Fixed and improved some visual menu elements to better integrate gamepad and PC/mouse controls.
Mac Version
The game now runs on a new build for Mac that properly integrates all Steam features into the game (up until now we had a separate beta branch to use if players wanted to use certain Steam features like Achievements).
As always, you can roll back to the previous version in the Beta Branch should you need to (right click CSD 3 on Steam, properties, then beta branches and select v1.01)

Cook, Serve, Delicious series on Steam Deck!
Happy Steam Deck launch week everyone! I have to say, after a few weeks with my Steam Deck dev kit it's been a wonderful way to close out my evenings with some light gamin' with some of my favorite Steam games like Vampire Survivors and Super Auto Pets. But of course getting a Deck early helped us ensure our games, and most importantly, future games, will be fully Deck compatible!
So what does this mean exactly? Going forward, all of our Steam releases will have 16:10 support, increased save checkpointing (in case you need to jump out of a game for any reason), better text compatibility so that the UI is clear, clean and easy to read on the Deck's screen, and further optimizations!
Here is a list of our currently released games, and the best ways to play them:
Cook, Serve, Delicious!- runs great, however the text is a little on the small side and therefore cannot be verified. We will take steps going forward that text is in a much larger and cleaner font.
Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?!- runs great, but due to some keyboard command text badges is not verified just yet. We're working with YoYo Games right now to get an updated build by the summer that will remove these icons and text.
Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!!- This does not currently run without opting into Proton. This is due to a legacy Linux bug that prevents gamepad input. Again we're working with YoYo Games to release an updated Linux build sometime soon, but until then, simply go to the game's Properties in the Steam Deck UI, and force Proton compatibility by selecting the most recent stable release of Proton. This forces the game to run the Windows version, which works great.
ChefSquad- due to the nature of this game requiring Twitch, the game is not playable on the Deck.
Legacy Titles- games like The Oil Blue, ShellBlast, etc. do not have gamepad support and rely on certain keyboard letters and mouse to navigate. So while a majority of them run, you'll need to remap a lot of the controls to make it fully compatible.
