Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?!

CSD 3 Wins at the IndieCade Awards, New Game Release!

It's been a crazy week here at VGInc., as we just won the Best Audio category by IndieCade for Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?!

We're so honored to have won this award and it's probably the first major award I've personally even won for one of my projects, and all thanks goes to Jonathan Geer for the amazing soundtrack and Jeff Ball for the audio design! Well done y'all!

Don't forget to pick up the AWARD WINNING SOUNDTRACK on Steam!!

And for our other big news- ChefSquad is our brand new Twitch only game and it's available now!!

[previewyoutube="AH8SKdgo-v0;full"]

This is an all new experimental game we've been working on with our off time in the last year, and we're so excited to release it for FREE for all Twitch streamers, as this is a game that requires community involvement! But how does it work? Here's the breakdown!

[previewyoutube="NOjj1ve2wNE;full"]

If the game gets popular enough we may look into future new additions to the game, but at the very least you can expect to see some kind of Twitch integration for our future projects. Check it out:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1501980/ChefSquad/

Of course this game is very much an experiment, as we are hard at work on our more traditional large scale single player game! Hopefully we'll be able to share more news in the near future, but for now we hope you enjoy this unique little release (whether that's streaming the game or playing it with one of your favorite content creators!). Take care,

Play Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! In Co-Op Online?!

Some say couch co-op games are dead. We disagree wholeheartedly! We've always felt that couch co-op and playing with your friends in person is a cornerstone in gaming. However, as things are constantly changing, situations and circumstances change. You can't always bring a friend over to play on the couch. Steam brought us the Remote Play Together Feature to solve this issue and now it's entering a new phase. You can now grab a link directly from your friend's list and send it to anyone to join your game! Anyone can join through Steam, or the Steam Link App. You can finally invite Aunt Betty to help you sear some steaks, chop some calamari, or dunk some doughnuts in Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3! right from the comfort of her own home!

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! celebrates further advancements in Steam's Remote Play Together service, and welcomes the Invite Anyone Feature! Join the Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! product manager, steamer, and food delivery app savant Cupogoodness and Hit YouTube sensation, fledgling voice actor, and survival of recent dental surgery Bumpy McSquigums as they dive in and put their co-operative chef hats on with some international Remote Play Together Co-Op Action!

Vote for us in the Steam Awards! Woo!

Thank you all for the support as we released CSD 3 during EA during this year! With the Steam Awards going on I just wanted to say thank you to anyone who has nominated us for an award...but what I'd really like to push for is the Best Soundtrack award, which is so deserved by the composer, Jonathan Geer. He deserves all of the awards in fact!

CSD and all of our games on Steam are currently on sale right now, so be sure to pick them up! Thanks everyone and hope all of y'all are well! ːcsd2smileː

CSD 3 for Mac Now Available!

First off, thank y'all for all of your patience! We're proud to announce that CSD 3 is now available for Mac! Before installing be sure to read about the two different builds we're offering today:

-For full compatibility, the default Mac version available for install will work great across all Mac platforms. It is the DRM free version, but has limited Steam features (only Trading Cards and Steam Overlay support).

-We also have a fully compatible Steam version that has the full Steam featureset and runs on an improved version of the engine. We opted not to make this the default as it requires the user to delete the current Mac build of the game before installing. To select this version: first, delete any CSD 3 install you currently have on Mac. Next, right click on CSD 3 in Steam and go to Properties. Then go to the Betas tab and select the mac_steam branch. It will download the new version and you should be set to go! If you have any issues with this version, please let us know, and you can always roll back to the standard install (but be sure to delete CSD 3 first; your saves will be fine!).

This version should also be going out to other store platforms today. Thanks again y'all and enjoy!

Mac Build (Beta) v1.01 Now Available

The Mac build for CSD 3 is now available! You should be able to install it once you start up Steam on Mac. But before you do I need to let y'all know what's been going on with the Mac build.

First off, this build has limited Steam integration- while Steam Overlay and Trading Cards work, Steam Cloud Saves and Steam Achievements do not. The reason is actually three different things- trying to work with Apple's signature processes in publishing on Mac, having issues getting the Steam API signed, and the engine we use, Game Maker Studio 2, having reliability issues and crashing when integrating Steam. These issues do not exist on any other platform the game is on, and we're working closely with YoYo Games right now to resolve them.

I know Mac users have waited a long time so instead of delaying the Steam build for several more weeks, I thought I'd post a more limited version of the game (in terms of Steam functions) to play in the meantime. Once we get the new version fixed and ready, you'll be able to download an update that will improve performance and add the rest of the Steam features in. Your saves will carry over and any progress specific achievements (such as "get all golds in one territory" or "get a medal on this day") will automatically unlock. However, specific menu/day achievements, such as "get a Perfect Day on X using X points" will NOT be unlocked, so don't try to go for those right now.

As you might imagine this has been extremely frustrating for us but I feel like we're nearing the finish line, and in the meantime there's no reason not to offer this version that is reliable and is only missing some Steam features. We'll be rolling this out to other storefronts in the near future. Thanks so much y'all for the patience and understanding, I greatly appreciate it! For even more info on updates on other platforms, go here: https://www.reddit.com/r/cookservedelicious/comments/jpeo4h/more_update_details_for_mac_consoles_116/

(Note that we are not advertising the game being available for Mac on our Steam store page until we have all Steam functionality in).

We did it!! Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! v1.0 is now available on Steam, featuring a massive campaign and tons of new and exciting features for both fans of the series and newcomers alike!

It's been quite a journey with you all, and I just want to thank everyone for all of their support through this year. It's definitely been a difficult one for all of us, but it meant so much to see all of the positive comments and feedback with the game.

While we had planned to also release a Mac version of the game today, we found some last minute bugs with that build specifically and want to take the time to get it right, so we hope to release that before the end of the month.

Balance Update v0.99 Now Available!

Here it is, the update before we launch v1.0 next week! I've been listening to feedback since the game was content complete this summer and made some adjustments to the balance of the game.

The biggest change is the significant increase in bad orders you can get to get a bronze medal- you can now get up to 14 bad orders, instead of 7. You can also get up to 7 bad orders for silver instead of 4. This is mainly to help progression in the early stages, and of course gold medals still require flawless runs.

I've also boosted the two weaker truck upgrades a bit, and nerfed a particularly deadly food truck attack, as well as adding some bug fixes and improvements. This update will go live for consoles either on launch day or shortly thereafter on October 14th on PS4/Xbox/Switch!

Thanks everyone for all the support, and we'll see you next week for the big 1.0 launch! (v1.0 will contain minor bug fixes).

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! 1.0 Launching in October for PC & Consoles

[previewyoutube="JnQ_RC0xzR8;full"]
We're thrilled to share Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! 1.0 will launch this October for $19.99 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles -- along with of course Windows PC and Mac OS X platforms on our Early Access stores (and possibly a few other PC shops as well). We plan on locking in a release date (or dates) with our console partners within the next few weeks, and then we'll be able to reveal the official launch date!

Version 1.0 will include a number of small fixes, additional trinkets and some artwork cleanup as we put the finishing touches to the game. Included in 1.0:

  • Play through the campaign via single player or with a friend in local co-op (with the ability to change on the fly).
  • Upgrade your food truck with dozens of gameplay-affecting modules!
  • Expand your food catalog with over two hundred foods!
  • Decorate your food truck with dozens of trinkets that span the US!
  • Tons of accessibility features that allow you to play the most comfortably you'd like, including motion settings, flashing/strobe settings, audio and colorblind features, and tons more.
  • Over a hundred hours of gameplay spanning over 380 levels!
  • An amazing original soundtrack by award-winning composer Jonathan Geer.

A reminder that you can still pick up CSD 3 ahead of launch and save $5 while it's still $14.99 in Early Access -- and actually the game can be had for even cheaper at the moment, as it's 25% off that price until August 17th!

The Grand Finale! Iron Cook Speedway (v0.95) is Now Available!

It's hard to believe that the journey is finally over- the Iron Cook Speedway update is now available with 30 levels in this brand new arena built specifically for speed, combat and deliciousness!

[previewyoutube="kFkkgU29QKU;full"]

The Iron Cook Speedway is an arena where contestants will race around the track, preparing orders for the judges before pulling into the Judges Tents. Along the way players will race in the combat tunnel, where food truck attacks are common and can happen multiple times in a single race! And with the Iron Cook rules prohibiting protective armor, you'll feel every hit come your way.

The game's mechanics have been overhauled specifically for this event- I wanted to create a fast and unique gameplay style that hasn't been done in the game up to this point, which meant changing the way the game's orders come in and limiting the amount of foods per stop. That, in addition to all of the game's new sound effects and music for this event (and the in-game commentary by @NorthernLionLP and @katelovelymomo ) makes this one of the biggest endings to a game I've ever done. I hope y'all enjoy!

We have some smaller updates planned for the game's 1.0 release coming soon, but I just wanted to say thank you to all the fans and those who have supported us through our first Early Access release. Without y'all none of this would have been possible, and I am eternally grateful for all of your reviews, feedback and encouragement.

Enjoy the finale, and we'll see you later this summer for the 1.0/console release!!
