Version 0.6.0 - Did you hear that?

Hey all! I bring a regular patch to the game that changes a few key aspects.

For starters, zombies have been enhanced. The sound system and visual aspects when locating a player are more realistic. A player can now crouch around zombies without having them notice or trigger them. Heck, you can fire off a gun to redirect zombies' attention to yourself.

Oh, and I buffed them... increased damage, movement speed, and decreased health.

A big change was to the item icons, you may not notice this but performance will. They've all been changed from 3d objects to sprites. Should have done this a while ago.

Break a leg! Players can now break legs if they jump from too high. This is fixed/cured by consuming morphine or makeshift splints. The splint can be crafted!

Crafting menu tabs were added. Now you can pick a tab and filter down all the recipes into categories!

Version 0.5.2 - Character Depth, Minor Fixes

This a quick update to say the least!

Added more depth to the character's customization! Skins, shirts, pants, and shoes include multiple options.

Official servers will be back up in the coming week.

Version 0.5.0 - KABOOM! Explosives, Base Repair, Zombie Buffs

This update includes a lot of new content, improvements, and polish.

Right off the bat, explosives!



You can now find propane tanks that can be lit with a matchbox and explode in ~4 seconds. The explosion will deal damage to all entities within a short radius. This includes players, zombies, base walls, foundations, and doors.

For a larger explosion, dynamite can be crafted from gun powder! This also needs to be lit by a matchbox and explodes in ~8 seconds. This explosion deals more damage in a larger radius.

Base Enhancements



Base Building parts such as walls and floors will decay over time. This period should be around ~4 days. Parts will not decay to destruction, only 25% health. Parts can be repaired for a fraction of the cost to place a new one with specific tools.

- Hand saw repairs wooden parts or deployables (ie Wooden Doors).
- Chisel repairs stone and upgrades wooden parts to stone.
- Blow Torch repairs iron/metal deployables (ie Base Flag)

Tree Changes



Less exciting but necessary, trees will now fall after being harvested. Different items harvest at different rates but trees will always drop saplings. These saplings can be planted. Once planted, they will grow over time or bones can be used to accelerate the growth!

Zombie Buffs



Nothing too much to explain here. Zombie spawn rates are increased at night by 1.5x. Zombies' health was increased from 75 to 100. Furthermore, their pathfinding was updated to reflect the map better.

Going Forward



The next few patches will be to tweak, balance, and polish the game. In the next few weeks, I will be marketing. This will include creating YouTube guides and reaching out to influencers about covering the game!

Version 0.4.0 - Wow, its getting dark early huh?

Hey all! Patch 0.4.0 is live and brings some changes to the night cycle.

The night is now darker with a few new objects to help light up the world.

Also, Zombies will be a tad stronger at night now! Dealing more damage (1.5x) and moving faster (1.2x).

Version 0.3.0 - Base Building!

Version 0.3.0 is here! This patch's major update is base building! Finally!

Ever since the mod days, base building has been on Crafting Dead's radar. I am excited and terrified to see what comes of this!

Please note, this patch INTRODUCES base building, it is not in a complete state. Far from it. There will be a lot of patches to tweak how base building will operate.



Building Overview

Important items include a Blueprint, Banner, Wooden (or Iron) Door. When placing building components, they will cost a specific amount of material from your inventory.

When holding a blueprint, you can place a component by right-clicking. The default is a foundation. This can be changed by right click and holding. An options menu will appear, options can be selected by hovering the mouse over the option you want and letting go of the right click.

Once a foundation is placed, you can place walls, short walls, or frames on top. These will snap in place. On top of walls or frames, you can place a floor (or roof, same same). Stairs can be placed in the center of a foundation letting you access a second floor.

Within a door frame, you can place a wooden or iron door. These doors can be accessed by any player unless a banner is placed.

At the center of your base, a Banner should be placed. Once placed, you can right-click it to authorize your player. Only people within the Banner's 20 unit radius can access doors to your base.

A full guide will be posted later, but things will change over time!
