Alpha 1.54: Peek-A-Boom, Knife Throwing Carnies and New Double Stat Power-Ups!
Alpha 1.54 We continue our hard work on the final area, but that isn't keeping us from adding some more fun stuff this week! Kellie is around 75% done with the assets for the final area and I have been making new enemies and programming and creating the assets for the final confrontation with dr. Apollyon as well as all the other stuff involved in adding a new area. Patch notes are below. More next week!
New rare double stat power-up items! Example: Instead of a health up giving you 10 more health a golden power-up will give you 20!
New Armor Item: Peek-A-Boom. While peeking you can call in an air strike to your cursor position once every room(this is a fun one!).
New Armor Item: Bodies Burn. Defeated enemies bodies are set on fire creating a trap for other enemies(stacks with Chance to Trap Enemy Bodies, which give bodies a chance to explode).
New Enemy: You might run into a Knife Throwing Carnie when venturing into the Carnival area.
The Mystery Box is more mysterious now. The mystery box can now contain armor(by far the most common), costumes, stat up power-ups, double stat up power-ups and have a very small chance of spawning a bomb.

Super Sprayer ammo and Water Balloon splash damage now puts out fires(even if you have Eternal Flame equiped).
Lighting caused by the Stormy gloves has a greater chance of striking enemies and it is clearly visible when it does. I had the bolt disappearing too soon when hitting an enemy which made it unclear what was happening.
Slowed down the speed on some enemy projectiles(Super Vampires,Swamp Monsters, Seltzer Spraying Clowns and Pie Throwing Clowns).
Fixed a collision issue with some Carnival tent props that I broke a few patches ago.
Alpha 1.53: New Cars, Stealing Money, Questing XP and More Maps!
Alpha 1.53 We are getting close to the 100 map mark in the Downtown area, we have almost 400 maps in all! I'm going to slow down on the Downtown maps until the other areas catch up. Kellie's still hard at work on the final area assets and the story boards we will have between levels. The cars in the game have gotten a makeover by Kellie and I've begun work on some new enemies for the final area. More next week! Patch notes below.
New Armor Item: More Double Shot. 1 in 4 chance of getting double shot when gun is randomized as opposed to 1 in 16.
New Armor Item: More Triple Shot. 1 in 4 chance of getting triple shot when gun is randomized as opposed to 1 in 16.
New Armor Item: Slower Enemy Bullets. Enemy ranged attacks have slower projectiles.
New Armor Item: Critical Thief. Enemies drop money when you hit them with a critical shot.

Completing quests now rewards the same amount of xp as killing a mini boss and is compatible with the bonus xp armor item.
The Scientist costume passive ability is now "Objectives Heal", meaning when you complete an objective while wearing the Scientist or Super Scientist costume you fully heal.
You can no longer preform special costume abilities while dashing.
I broke some of the functionality of the Water Balloon Ammo a couple of patches ago, it should be working properly now.
The Skip-it now does 2.5 times more damage.
Fixed issue with Super Sprayer ammo having short range when using a gamepad.
The game no longer saves in the sewer. So if you quit while in the sewer and continue you will be at the beginning of the last room before you entered the sewer.

New Armor Item: Big Splash Balloons. Water Balloon ammo has a larger splash radius.
New Armor Item: Piercing Silver Bullets. Silver Bullets go through enemies allowing them to hit more enemies.
New Armor Item: Food Heals Stamina Too. All food and soda items heal stamina as well as health.
New Armor Item: Criticals Give Stamina. Critical hits give you a small amount of stamina.
Function: You can now check your equiped armor items without having to go to the pause menu with the B button or tab key.

Turned down the activation frequency on the Power Glove, Super Power Glove, Peace Maker and Invisible Man passive(slightly).
Turned up the damage on the Water Balloon ammo splash damage.
Fixed a bug caused by unpausing while in the unlocks menu.
Fixed pine trees in Cemetery glitching.
Fixed issue with super version of Super Hero costume glitching when reaching your reticle.
Fixed a bug causing your quest giver to be named "1" instead of their name when using continue.
Alpha 1.51: Barrel Traps, a Hobo and 16 New Maps!
Alpha 1.51 Barrel traps! Kellie drew some barrels and I made them explode! When you blow them up they have a variety of possible effects. There are barrels that poison enemies, barrels that slow down enemies, barrels that spill toxic goop, barrels that drop a five piece set of armor, barrels full of attack chickens, barrels that drop batteries that shoot lightning, regular old exploding barrels and more! I will probably add more barrel types in the future too. Also 16 new maps! Patch notes below. More next week!
Barrel Traps! A variety or barrel traps have a chance of spawning around the maps.
New NPC: Hobo Mystery Box Merchant. You can find him tending to his booth throughout Creekside.

Alpha 1.50: The Carnival Update! Check out the video!
The Carnival is now open! The Carnival is the fourth and penultimate area in the game. You will have to defeat Dr. Apollyon's three guards to try and stop him(but you won't stop him because there's one more area coming!). I also added a new unlockable costume, ammo type and new music! Kellie is hard at work on the final area, I'll post a preview of the assets sometime in the near future. Patch notes are below. More next week!

Big Update Next Week!
Carnival update next week! The update will include the Carnival area with 7 new enemy types(three of them are mini bosses you have to defeat to complete the objective), 52 maps to start(more later), a new unlockable costume and more! I'll post a video when it's released sometime next week.
Alpha 1.41: Stun Gun, Armor and Maps
Alpha 1.41 The carnival area is taking longer than I thought it would, but it will still be done earlier than expected originally, just not as early. The more I work on it the more I find I need to do. I may skip next weeks patch so I can focus all my time on the carnival. Kellie has officially moved on to working on the final area(Dr. Apollyon's Base), it has a sort of Little Monsters vibe and it's looking great so far! Patch notes below.
Armor Item: Stun Gun. Chance to stun and do electric damage over time to nearby enemies.
Armor Item: Dumpster Diver. Trash is already knocked over when entering a map.
Armor Item: Critical Care. Critical hits heal a small amount of health.
Armor Item: Care Package. Level up crates always contain food.

Alpha 1.40: Dumpster Mimics, Mystery Box for sell, 4 Armor Items and 12 Maps
Alpha 1.40 Kellie has finished the updated store art, you can see it on the store page. I've been working on some body guards for Dr. Apollyon that will be used in the Carnival's objective. I think I will be able to release the Carnival area with in the next two weeks. Patch notes below. More next week!
Armor Item: Eternal Flame. Fire Burns Forever.
Armor Item: Low Health Damage Bonus. If your health is 20 or less your bullets do bonus damage.
Armor Item: Chance for Criticals to Kill. You have a chance(%10 at the moment) for a critical hit to do 1000 damage to normal enemies.
Armor Item: Healthy Food. Food and soda heal for 50 instead of 25.

Dumpster Mimics. Like trashcan Mimics but bigger and scarier.
Mystery box now for sale in the store. For now it contains a random piece of armor for $15(or free in it's in the free slot), but in the future I will add more variation I think.
Alpha 1.39 Thunderstorms, Junk Armor and Maps.
Alpha 1.39 Still at work on the carnival. I've been working on some new clown enemies. Kellie is taking a break from in-game assets to rework the Steam store page art, it should be finished by the end of next week. Patch notes are below. More next week.
Armor Item: Progress Heals. Heal 10 health when entering a new room(mini-mart and sewer store don't count).
Armor Item: Stormy. Rain causes lightning strikes that can damage enemies.
Armor Item: More Rain. It rains more often(pairs well with the Slippery When Wet belt and the Thunder Storm gloves).
Junk Armor: I've added Junk armor that takes up an armor slot, but if you bring it to a merchant(in the mini-mart or sewer) they will pay you for them.

The default unlocked Power-Up item in the store is now free.
Power ups move away from sewer lids(not armor yet) so you don't open the sewer when trying to pick one up.
Implemented a more complex knockback system that takes into account the enemy's stability and the bullet's kick.
This way you no longer push the creeps that don't chase you as far away from area effect damage(eggs for instance).
Alpha 1.38 Peeking, 4 Armor Items and 12 Maps

A big change this time is peeking. Somebody suggested, awhile ago, a Hotline Miami type camera mode where you can look around the map, so I've decided to replace the zoom out function with something similar to that. Also I added a bunch more maps and some more armor. More next week.
New armor item: Power Glove. Chance to shoot a power glove towards an enemy.
New armor item: Super Power Glove. Chance to shoot a heat seeking power glove.
New armor item: Dash More. Shorter cool down when dashing.
New armor item: No Fireworks. When your gun is randomized it excludes fireworks.

Changed Zoom to Peek. Zoom wasn't working in a way I liked so I changed it to peek. Now when holding Ctrl or right bumper the camera follows your reticle to look around the map.
New tooltip for peeking.
Tooltips now fade when you're near them.
Lowered controller sensitivity again(tell me if it's to slow now, I may need to add an option).
New particles for bushes when shot.
Resized various full screen filters to support the new peek feature.
Changed the alignment to most of the text in the game including all item and costume descriptions.
