  • Added game option to disable visual creeper smoothing.
  • Added game option to limit the number of game recording files that are kept on disk.
  • Split out game mute from the main menu mute and added UI settings for both the the settings sound menu.
  • Added wiki buttons and controls. Various parts of the UI allow the online wiki help to be accessed.
  • Added scratch save slots to the map editor. Useful for temporary saves.
  • Reduced the sound level of some units and weapon fire.
  • Changed the Colonies tag filters from being and 'or' to an 'and' when multiple tags are specified.

Creeper World 4 version 1.1.0 now available

Got some new features, some small tweaks, and some bugs fixes.

Here's the change log for version 1.1.0

  • Updated to Unity 2019.4
  • Colonies remembers last selected map when returning to the Colonies screen.
  • Sprayer collection field changed to help prevent AC overflow to Creeper.
  • ERNs no longer move over creeper, they move through it.
  • Eggs show yellow smoke when they are popped over shields and do not deposit all of their payload.
  • MicroRifts can be placed on platforms.
  • AC Bombers get a large speed increase when ERN'd.
  • Terps get a speed increase when ERN'd.
  • Greenar Refineris get a 2x efficiency boost when ERN'd.
  • Game message sizing support for large, small and very wide displays.
  • Added support for full screen exclusive mode. The default is still windowed full screen.
  • Allow binding key controls for different simulatneous actions (you can set the same key to 2 different things).
  • Allow the use of additional mouse buttons in the controls settings.
  • Shields show a range before they are built and when being moved.
  • Added an option to turn off "Auto Cam". When deselected, the pitch of the camera no longer changes when changing altitude. It is set by rotating the camera, which allows right/left/up/down when auto cam is turned off.
  • Added global sound mute button on the main menu. Same setting as found in the game near the top right.
  • Various Mission fixes and small updates
  • Numerous bug fixes

Launch Results

It's just over 48 hours since the Creeper World 4 launch...


And things have progressed fantastically well! Better than my expectations by several fold. It would seem that folks really do like thermodynamics, differential equations, and cellular automata. Who knew! Sales have exceeded every success metric I'm aware of for the first week of an indie title, and we did it in the first few hours.

Sales have been robust, and Steam shows why it is a juggernaut. I think nowhere else in the depth of time has there been a place where a dude could make an interactive bag of math with some colorful graphics on it, and multitudes of smart folks could buy and enjoy that creation.

So thank you for your support, your purchases, your reviews, and existing. Because the world has smart and interesting people like you in it, I can make simulations and pass them off as games.

Onward to the 1.1 update!

Creeper World 4 Releasing Dec 3, 2020

I redoubled my efforts and now the Creeper is ready to flood another hundred thousand worlds. Yes.... (fingers stroking chin).... The Creeper culling has returned! Come bear witness to the turning of another galactic page. The end of one (or more?) galactic civilization and the birth of something new. Dec 3, 2020 around 10:05am PST is the time. Be sure to set a reminder for this world ending event. Either way, you won't miss it.

Oh and there are already some sweet custom maps showing up that are ready for day 1. Folks have even implemented gameplay and weapons that I didn't think of... how'd that happen? The game is already out of my control it would seem and I'm the one looking forward to the release so I can play it!

K75 and I will be doing some live streaming shortly after the launch. I've heard its good for buzz. So tell your friends about the launch, especially all of the ones that have YouTube channels with 1+million subscribers.

Demo2 PreBeta 11.0 Update

Demo2 PreBeta 11.0

  • Added smart packet dispatching. Helps streamline initial buildout and prevent economy stalling.
  • Top Right menu items redone to be less confusing.
  • Don't allow the temple to be destroyed by blobs in Shaka mission.
  • Reduced the hit box for the temple in Shaka so it doesn't block clicking on the walls behind it.
  • Blobs no longer target the Delegate.
  • Made enemy outlines be on by default.
  • Enemy outlines are now gray when a unit is nullified and red when not nullified.
  • Removed the floating redon deposit in mission 7 (put it on the terrain).
  • Fixed incorrect texture usage by some types of special terrain.
