Hey fellow adventures! It has been a while since our last update and this is the best time to introduce the new Crimson Dawn in-game changes. In update #4 we once again focused on improving the game balance and optimization to bring you the most comfortable and enjoyable experience..
The new balancing changes, affect not only the current classes but also weapon power. We have also reworked the progression system by reducing the total amount of resources required for upgrades and by speeding up the time needed for the unlocks.
We have changed the last mission on each of the three maps a bit. Now, at the end of your run, you will encounter a challenging boss fight with unique special abilities.
👾 Map Bosses 👾
There are now special bosses to fight as the last mission of our 3 maps: Wasteland, Mystic Meadows, and Town of Madness. These bosses will use special attacks which you will have to avoid, and each one will be more difficult than the previous one:
The Wasteland map is guarded by the Mud Devil
On the Mystic Meadows you will fight the Shrouded Spirit
The Crimson Servitor reigns over the Town of Madness
You will have to challenge these bosses in order, hence, to unlock the Mystic Meadows' boss, you will have to defeat the Wasteland boss first. By defeating the last boss in the Town of Madness, you will see the end game credits. Thank you for playing our game! 😁

Progression changes
We've reevaluated the way we had locked several weapons and artifacts before, and decided to have most of them unlocked from the start for a smoother and more enjoyable experience
All weapons will now be unlocked in the Blacksmith from the start, except for Roots, Wolf, Musket, and Mace. Dagger, Axe and Meteor will be unlocked by getting a Trickster, Huskar or Sorcerer in the tavern.
All artifacts will now be unlocked and can be found in chests from the start
The needed Blacksmith levels unlocks reduced for the Wasteland map, so you can upgrade weapons faster
The Druid character and Wolf weapon can now be unlocked earlier
New Wasteland unlocks:
Mission 1: Mission List, Market, Blacksmith up to level 3, Wasteland boss
Mission 2: Blacksmith up to level 5
Mission 3: Mystic Meadows map
Mission 5: Defeat the Wasteland boss to unlock the Mystic Meadows boss
New Mystic Meadows unlocks:
Mission 2: Druid character (buying the Druid will also unlock the Roots weapon)
Mission 3: Wolf weapon
Mission 4: Town of Madness map
Mission 5: Defeat the Mystic Meadows boss to unlock the Town of Madness boss
New Final Town of Madness unlocks:
Mission 2: Witch Hunter character (buying the Witch Hunter will also unlock the Musket weapon)
Mission 3: Mace weapon
Map Missions
Several map missions was adjusted, since the overall play experience has also changed with the 5th mission now being a boss fight.
Wasteland
Mission 2 changed from "Slay 300 monsters" to "Slay 400 monsters"
Mission 3 changed from "Survive for 300 seconds" to "Survive for 500 seconds"
Town of Madness
Mission 1 changed from "Survive for 150 seconds" to "Survive for 300 seconds"
Mission 3 changed from "Survive for 300 seconds" to "Survive for 500 seconds"
Monster Changes
Wasteland
Overall amount of monsters reduced to make the experience easier, especially in the beginning
Mystic Meadows
Overall amount of monsters reduced to make the experience easier
Town of Madness
Overall amount of monsters reduced to make the experience easier
Rebalanced all spawn patterns
Slightly increased the HP of the Mission 2 and Mission 4 bosses
Slightly reduced the HP of many normal monsters
Blacksmith Upgrade Costs
Upgrade costs for all weapons were reevaluated and rebalanced, the overall costs were reduced by about half
The costs were streamlined so all weapons cost the same amount of materials in total
The type of materials used were adjusted so you need roughly the same amount of each material to upgrade all weapons
Dagger second material was changed from "Star Metal" to "Old Pages"
Meteor first material was changed from "Living Wood" to "Star Metal"
Character Skill Costs
Costs for character skills were reduced by more than half
The total costs for Sorceress, Huskarl, and Trickster are now the same
The total costs for Druid, and Witch Hunter are now the same, and slightly higher than the three default characters
Chests
Slightly increased the chance to get a new weapon
Level Up
Increased the chance to get an upgrade for a weapon you have
Increased the chance to get a new weapon
Level curve has been adjusted, with level up costs being reduced for levels after 40
Weapons & Classes
Arrow
Base projectiles increased from 1 to 2
Base penetration increased from 1 to 2
Blacksmith upgrade projectiles reduced
Dagger
Base damage increased from 3 to 8
Base cooldown reduced from 0,6 to 0,5
Base throwing arc reduced from 40 to 10, now way more accurate
Blacksmith level 2 damage bonus increased from 2 to 3
Blacksmith level 3 projectile bonus increased from 1 to 2
Blacksmith upgrades damage and projectiles increased
Trickster skill damage increased
Hammer
Base damage increased from 6 to 8
Blacksmith level 1 damage bonus increased from 5 to 6
Blacksmith upgrades damage increased
Lightning
Base cooldown reduced from 1,3 to 1,1
Blacksmith level 1 damage bonus increased from 3 to 4
Blacksmith level 3 cooldown bonus increased from -20% to -30%

Base cooldown increased from 1,5 to 1,6
Blacksmith level 1 duration bonus decreased from 25 to 20

Winter Major Update #3 – New Map, New Class and New Weapons!
Hey everyone!
It's been more than two months since Crimson Dawn was released in Early Access and It's hard to convey how much your support motivates us to continue creating new content for the game and improve its mechanics until the very end of this year. May this holiday season brighten you up with happiness, joy and good cheer with the last Major Update of this 2022 year. This Update is dedicated to Winter and Christmas themes and brings you a new map, class, and two physical weapons.
🌟New Map: Town of Madness🌟
Are you courageous enough to enter the Town of Madness and face the hordes of the undead? Enemies on this map act instinctively by huddling in groups, so you will encounter unique spawn patterns that require you to be strategic and search for the best combinations of weapons and attributes.
How to unlock: New map will be available for exploration once you complete the 4th mission on Mystic Meadows map.
🌟New Class: Witch Huntress🌟
Previously, our adventurers have not faced this level of menace as the Town of Madness. therefore, the ranks of mercenaries will be replenished by a specialist in the extermination of evil. Dedicated inquisitor, Fiery Redhead expert with Muskets and Maces who has only one starting weapon slot for the physical weapons only. Special ability: Every 2 physical weapons increase damage by 5 and damage over time by 2 for all physical weapons.
How to unlock: Witch Huntress class will be available for hire in the tavern once you complete the 2nd mission on the new Town of Madness map.
🌟New Physical Weapons🌟
Musket
Fires bullets at enemies with the highest amount of health, penetrating targets as it passes through them. Bullets continue to fly for a while and continue to penetrate targets if possible. Witch Huntress class uses Musket as a default primary weapon although it is also available for all other classes.
How to unlock: Musket will be automatically unlocked after you hire Witch Huntress in the tavern.
Fire Mace
Smash the Fire Mace into the ground, causing main damage on the initial hit and burning enemies for a while after.
How to unlock: Fire Mace weapon will be unlocked once you complete the 3rd mission on Town of Madness map.
Other Changes
Uinque Spawn Patterns
We add unique monster spawn patterns like swarms, circles, walls, etc., that will complicate and diversify your experience of playing on the new map. This mechanic is unique to Town of Madness map only!
Map selection reworked
As the number of in-game content increases, we are trying to rework various UI elements to make them more suitable to the current state of the game. Thus, the choice of the map before the start of the race is now more visually explicit and each map has a separate icon.

Update #2 – New Class and New Weapons!
Hey everyone!
It's been now almost 3 weeks since our last update and due to a recent Covid illness, we had to slightly delay the date as well as the amount of planned content for the current Crimson Dawn major update. That's why now we are so excited to finally share something brand new for your adventure in the game.
New Class: Druid
Become a protector of nature, a master of ancient magic with increased resistance. The Druid can equip any weapon in the first slot, but only magic weapons in the second. Druid is tougher than the rest adventurers, he has a tendency to get more healing and the potential to gain the highest defense level. Special ability: For every 10 damage taken, defense increases by 1% up to a maximum of 80%.
How to unlock: Druid class will be available for hire in the tavern once you complete the 3rd mission on Mystic Meadows map.
New Weapon: Roots
Shoots roots through the ground at the nearest enemy, damaging and rooting them in place for a while. While rooted, enemies take damage over time and also get bonus damage from other weapons. Druid class uses Roots as a default primary weapon though it is also available for all other classes.
How to unlock: Roots will be automatically unlocked after you hire Druid in the tavern.
New Weapon: Wolf
Summon Wolf companion which stays at a medium range from you, constantly running around and pouncing on enemies, protecting its master.
How to unlock: Wolf weapon will be unlocked once you complete the 4th mission on Mystic Meadows map.

New Artefacts, Weapons Sound Effects, Damage statistics and more
New Changes
1. New Artefact: Explosive corpse. When your weapons kill an enemy, there is a chance that it explodes the corpse and deals damage in the area around it. Unlocks by completing 2nd Mystic Meadows mission. 2. New Artefact: Haste aura. Character gets bonus movement speed for each enemy within a range. Unlocks by completing 3rd Mystic Meadows mission. 3. Sound effects for all existing weapons are added to the game. You can always change the volume or disable these effects in the game settings. 4. Statistics on how much damage each weapon deals per run. You can see it in the rewards menu after the run is over. 5. By pressing pause during the game, you will see now all the interface elements, including current attributes, weapons and artefacts, resources, etc.

Steam Achievements, Progression Reset, Chest Reroll Mechanic and more.
New Changes
1. When playing Crimson Dawn you're now able to unlock 60 unique Steam Achievements to get even more fun from the game. 2. New Progression Reset feature allows to refund all spent materials, currencies and revert all blacksmith upgrades or characters abilities which will be locked again. However refund feature will keep purchased characters and all map goals that were achieved before. Refund button can be found in the bottom right corner of the both blacksmith or characters menus. 3. Meet improved Drop Chest mechanic and add new Chest Reroll system. Now different items will fall out of the chest with a certain probability. We tried to make the mechanics more diverse so that you have a choice between artefacts, weapons, instant level-up or additional resources. Reroll system allows you to renew the offered rewards once per each chest. 4. Visual Spear weapon improvements made the attack animation and projectile look more natural. 5. 4K Resolution: now you can enjoy the game in Ultra High-definition quality by setting the resolution to 3840x2160 in the options.

1. Crimson Dawn now has Controller Support: Xbox 360/One, PS4 DualShock/PS5 DualSense, Steam Controller and more. 2. Combat effects transparency slider make it easier to see the environment during fights with a large number of enemies, you can find it in options menu. 3. Steam Cloud Saves added to the game. make sure you check on "Keep games save in the Steam Cloud for Crimson Dawn" in your Steam Library properties.
