Cruise Ship Manager patch - fix for the missing crew bug connected to elevators

Ahoy, shipowners!

A bit of time has passed since the last patch. With the last few patches we have fixed most of the issues as reported by our community - thank you all for your help! However, we had some outstanding bugs - some very pesky and returning even with previous fixes in place - which needed to be sorted out. Today we are providing solutions for them.

Cruise Ship Manager patch - fixes for crew member issues

The outstanding major issue resolved by this patch is the cases of missing crew members you have reported to us often. It seemed to be connected to elevators, as their removal has been fixing the issue for the players. We had spent a long time trying to reproduce this issue - it was very hard to recreate in testing envinroment. Needless to say, after much testing we managed to locate the issue and find a solution. We are introducing it to the game in today's update.

The second major issue that plagued some of you were striking workers, leaving even when you had cash to cover their wage. We have identified this as a problem with null crew members being created in the hired crew panel - and removed this bug. The third fix we introduce today is a minor security fix to crew activity happening even after the cruises end. It hasn't caused any reported issues, but we have removed it to make sure the game runs without any further flaws.

The patch introduces the following changes:

  • Fix to elevators making crew members missing by destroying the human NPCs at the end of the cruise
  • Fix to null crew members being possible to load into hired crew panel as a crew member without statistics and wage to pay
  • Fix to NPCs navigation/decision making sometimes still being active shortly after the cruise's end

Cruise Ship Manager patch - fixes for crew member issues

Ahoy, shipowners!

Another update for Cruise Ship Manager has arrived at the port. In this update, once again working with the help of your priceless feedback, we have removed several bugs related to the crew that you have reported.

Cruise Ship Manager patch - fixes for crew member issues

The other much-requested change is the ability to skip the cruise statistics calculations which were loading slowly at the end of every cruise. Now you can go past them with the simple input of 'Enter'. One other quality-of-life change for UI is making the buttons on the bottom left panel of the build mode appear in different colors. This way you can spot options like selling rooms, upgrading rooms, and customizing rooms quicker and easier.

The patch introduces the following changes:

  • Blocked the possibility of initiating by the player the end for an action performed by a crew member who was already ending the same action, which may have caused unique bugs
  • Implemented security updates to barman and engineer workstations to resolve to freeze on past issues
  • Fixed the action of carrying boxes related to the Storage room, which no longer makes crew members move slower even if they're already finished carrying a box
  • Added the option of skipping the loading of the cruise statistics panel after the cruise by pressing 'Enter'
  • Added the different colors for Build Mode buttons in the down left corner of UI
  • Made tickets UI reset tickets value on entering the Tickets mode

Cruise Ship Manager patch - fixes for known issues and anti-freeze solution

Hi shipowners,

Recently we have seen many reports of sudden freezing of the game. We are of course working to locate every possible reason for this issue showing up - although this type of problem is often tricky to replicate. During our investigation of freezes, we have found a solution that should help you in many cases.

Cruise Ship Manager update - fixes for known issues and anti-freeze solution

We have determined that the most likely source of freezes is an autosaving function, as it is very resource-consuming. That's why we enabled toggling autosave on and off in this hotfix. If you experience freezes, it's advised to turn autosave off. In many cases, it should be enough to solve the issue. You can access toggle autosave during gameplay by pausing the game, clicking on the Options button, and then on General Settings.

If you still experience freezes, feel free to contact us by usual channels. We are still monitoring the issue and if you have freezing problems, we will also ask you to provide us with your configuration and logs (available at C:\Users\ UserName \AppData\LocalLow\Image Power\Cruise Ship Manager).

In addition, in this patch, we provide solutions for numerous issues reported by you on the Steam community forum. As always, thank you for your support and thorough reports on problems you have encountered.

The patch introduces the following changes:

  • Added toggle for autosave in Options -> General Setting during gameplay
  • Added estimated fuel usage display for a selected cruise on the cruise info panel.
  • Added reset of the number of all-inclusive/VIP tickets to sell after the cruise ends
  • Fixed the issue of occasionally not saving all hired crew members
  • Blocked accessing pause menu from cruise stats panel, as saving the game from there could make save faulty
  • Fixed being able to buy resources for free if bought in little amounts.
  • Fixed crew member's action blocker when not paid a wage, which made no payment instance applied multiple times, making it not lifting even after paying the wage

Cruise Ship Manager update - fuel calculation issues fix

Hi shipowners,

The topic of fuel was hotly debated over the weekend, but we have pinned down the reason for excess fuel usage during cruises, even on the same route and with the same ship configuration. Thank you all for your calculations and reporting, you helped us immensely with creating today's patch.

Cruise Ship Manager update - fuel calculation issues fix

As we talk fuel, we have also introduced a real-time length of the cruise display in the cruise panel, so you can easily calculate the fuel consumption ratio. We are wondering which solutions are the best, so please feel free to share feedback.

We have also modified crew behavior to address their seemingly idle behavior. Now your crew members will react to urgent situations faster than ever.

The hotfix introduces the following changes:

  • Adjustments and fixes to fuel usage to eliminate hidden fuel consumption issue
  • Cruise info panel now also shows the estimated real-time length of the cruise(so players can compare it with time for how long will their current fuel amount last and decide whether they need to buy more)
  • Crew members now move faster to every player-ordered action's goal (even if it's as trivial as cleaning bed order)

We hope we have addressed the pressing fuel issue accordingly - and we're back to work on more quality-of-life updates. Thank you again for your support!

Cruise Ship Manager update - quality-of-life fixes and translations revisions

Ahoy, shipowners!

Cruise Ship Manager gears up for the weekend with the new update. Thanks to your feedback, we could locate some additional issues, as well as propose quality-of-life fixes to make your experience with the game consistent and clear.

Cruise Ship Manager update - quality-of-life fixes and translations revisions

Additionally, we have located a translation issue that was present in some tutorials regarding shipbuilding and room placement. Suggestions that all rooms must be linked and that you should place corridors between them are leftovers from the demo.

In the full game, corridors exist behind all rooms and link them automatically. You can leave open spaces between rooms and it will cause no issues and will allow you to sail out without any problems. The only things that should be connected are all decks on the ship - This allows for vertical movement of passengers and crew, and without it, you won't be able to sell tickets and leave the port. At the start, stairs are used to connect decks. Later on, you can also use elevators, which take up significantly less space than stairs.

We're deeply sorry for making the rules of building the ship confusing.

The hotfix introduces the following changes:

  • Removed the mentions of corridors and room linking from tutorial content in all language versions
  • Made routes set for Janitor (Storage room) transferable between cruises, so there is no need to reassign them manually each time. Only rooms that were moved by the player or sold will be also removed from the route.
  • Fixed the issues with the customization of large cabins - restored the color change and decor change options
  • Fixed the issues with loading the routes between harbors on the map (the path was not drawing on the map, the cruise length counter was freezing, and reputation gains were lowered when it happened)
  • Added a visual signal that you can input the number of provisions/fuel in the shop using numeric keys instead of the left/right arrows
  • Made resource shop values reset after purchase to avoid accidental purchases
  • Fixed the distance counter - added the missing decimal separator (eg. 1008 m -> 100.8 m)

Cruise Ship Manager update - changes to automated cleaning/fixing availability

Ahoy, shipowners!

Cruise Ship Manager is up and running, and we are taking note of every piece of feedback you provide - thank you for sharing your opinions!

The most prevalent suggestion of changes from you is in the fixing/cleaning element of the game. We hear your opinions and we have decided to introduce a major change to mitigate some of the micromanagement that may come with assigning crew to fixing/cleaning tasks.

That's why we decided to make an automated patroling option available right from the start of the game. The Storage room will also be possible to buy at any port.

As a reminder, the Storage room allows you to assign a crewman to the role of Janitor and then set a patrol route of 10 rooms for single Storage room. Setting the patrol route is very simple - just enter the Storage room menu by clicking the red gear icon, and then clicking Assign Rooms to Patrol button on the right side (next to Send Patrol button). Then you enter a new view mode and just select rooms by clicking on them (the green frame indicates room selected by you to patrol). Please note - the route is not permament and you have to set it up anew for each cruise.

Cruise Ship Manager update - changes to automated cleaning/fixing availability

The hotfix introduces the following changes:

  • The Storage room is now available at starting port, as well as in every other port in the game
  • The in-game price of the Storage room is adjusted down to $3000
  • The funds you get at the start of the game are adjusted by +$5000 to accommodate the cost of the Storage room, so it can be bought even for the first cruise
  • In the menu of assigning a crew member to task, you now can view the distance (in a straight line) of the crewman to the item you selected for cleaning/fixing (under the avatar picture), so you can select the nearest person easily
  • Added unit price to resource price panels in the shop
  • Fixed the reloading issues with room variant buttons for large cabins
  • Fixed the Gym barbell, which stayed in place when the rest of the room was moved somewhere else
  • Fixed the instance of selling a number of All Inclusive and VIP Tickets even if their pool was set to zero
  • Fixes to freezes happening during assingment of a crew member to a non-assigned role
  • Small performance improvements to fuel usage calculation system

We hope the changes we introduce will make your experience with the game smoother and address the issues you found with crew management. We are also working on more quality of life fixes, coming soon.
