Thanks to the Cruise Ship Manager prologue, you had a lot of time to get to grips with the basics of setting up your cruise empire. We hope your first 6 cruises went smoothly! You also had an occasion to add some basic service and entertainment rooms to your first ship. Of course, there are more options in this department in the full version of the game. Today, we will take a look at some of the advanced rooms that you'll be able to expand your ship with - for the pleasure of your passengers and profit!
One of the options you've asked frequently about was to automatize some of the cleaning/fixings to make it more manageable on long cruises. The answer to this issue is the Storage room, in which the Janitor works. During the cruise, you can set patrol routes for them, so they will monitor certain rooms automatically. You can select up to 10 rooms to be part of the Janitor's patrol.
With several Storages, you can cover most of even the biggest ship in the game. Just remember - there is only one Janitor per Storage, and he has his own tempo. So if you want something to be done quicker, it may be wise to assign an employee currently closer to the thing needing attention.
Everyone loves splishing and splashing! In Cruise Ship Managers you have two options to open a pool to your passengers - either outdoor or indoor. Lots of people love to spend time actively, so swimming a few lengths will be an attractive prospect to them. Others just like to sit and soak while the sun shines on them. The outdoor option is perfect for those relax-first types.
Don't forget that you can also set up some water slides next to the outdoor pool and turn the upper deck into a real Mediterranean paradise.
The Casino has probably the most to offer in term of entertainment options for people who like to spice up their cruise with some gambling. This room offers slot machines, two poker tables and blackjack to test the luck of your passengers. There are also additional options to attract customers. You can activate the Double Payout for the slot machines. Card players will be eager to know that there is an option of participating in a Poker tournament.
Just remember that this room requiries a lot of employees to work properly. You will need four croupiers and a security worker.
Are you eager to add those rooms to your perfect cruise ship? These and more will be available at various ports of the full game, coming soon!

Did you know? - tips for Cruise Manager: Prologue - Maiden Voyage
Ahoy, shipowners!
We have noticed, also by checking your feedback (many thanks!), that some secondary mechanics and options in the prologue might not be obvious at first glance. So we have gathered all the useful things that we felt were unnoticed by some of the players and compiled them as tips for you to use!
Cruise Ship Manager: Prologue - Maiden Voyage Useful Tips
1. You can change the color and interior variation of the passenger's cabins
By using the numbered buttons under the name of the cabin option in Build Mode you can change the color and the arrangement of the room. You have three color versions (blue, green, and red) and two arrangement types to choose from for each cabin!
2. The club can be used as a stairway
Two-story rooms - in the case of the prologue, our stylish disco - allow you to move between the decks the same way as a stairway. So you can save money on one set of stairs by using the disco as a way for passengers to reach the upper deck.
3. You can upgrade rooms in the Build Mode
Most of the rooms available in the game - cabins, services, and entertainment alike - can be upgraded to better quality, up to five stars. You upgrade them by half star at a time using the star icon next to the Sell rooms and Sell all rooms buttons. Of course, the upgrade has its sometimes hefty cost, so mind the budget. In addition to the quality upgrade, the durability of the items increases. On the downside, the upgraded room will use up more fuel and possibly also more supplies.
4. You can assign tasks to the crew on pause
In the down left corner of the screen, above Management and Passengers buttons, you have a speed menu. Thanks to it you can speed up the gameplay of the Cruise part of the game up even to x8. But the same menu has also a pause button, which is pretty useful. It is active, which means that you can assign tasks freely when paused. So if there is too much happening to manage it, just hit the pause and do everything in your tempo.
5. People sent out to do tasks will go back to their posts when finished
Afraid to send the cook, the DJ, or even the captain to a nearby emergency? Worried that you will have to assign them to their post again afterward? While making them leave posts may be not optimal, don't worry about using them to clean, extinguish flames, or make quick repairs. When they are finished with such a task, they automatically get back to the posts you assigned to them in the Management menu.
We hope you enjoyed our tips and maybe learned something that you missed on your first playthrough! If you want to learn more about the mechanics of Cruise Ship Manager: Prologue - Maiden Voyage directly from us, you can always rewatch the launch live stream, available on Youtube:

The success of your sea-faring enterprise is based on your reputation. And you become reputable by catering to the people's needs. This may sound easy, but passengers are demanding. Every one of them has its preferences. They also all want to be entertained in a clean, exciting environment. That's why they buy the tickets and will pay a lot more if you provide top-notch services. But how to know what you should prioritize to make them happy?
Passengers and their needs
Fortunately, in Cruise Ship Manager you have easy access to information on every passenger. By clicking the PASSENGERS tab located on the bottom left part of the screen, you open up a menu in which you can select each of them individually and look at their preferences and current condition. You can also sort this menu by Hapinnes or Needs. If you want to check a passenger you see on deck at the moment, just click on them to view a window with all of the statistics depicting the current condition of this person,
When you click on a person in the PASSENGERS menu, on the right you get all the info on them. Under portrait and name, you can find the Preferences of the passenger. These inform you about the rooms they expect to find on your cruise ship. Under the preferences, you can check the level of the two most important statistics in form of two bars:
Happiness - indicates if the person is happy with the services you offer, is served on time and their environment is clean, and all the objects around are in a good state.
Needs - indicates the level of needs of the passenger being met and is tied to the sub-statistics which we will get into below.
Keeping both of the bars as full as possible is the key to keeping a passenger pleased and hitting your happiness goal for the cruise, and thus reputation points and additional earnings.
Under the Needs bar, you have several sub-statistics bars. Those bars indicate a current level of fulfillment of the basic needs of a person. When each of the bars gets filled, the main Needs bar gets filled by a certain amount as well.
Energy - indicates how well slept and ready for activity the passenger is.
Hunger - indicates if the food-related needs of the passenger are fulfilled.
Fun - indicates if the passenger is well-entertained.
Thirst - indicates if the drink-related needs of the passenger are fulfilled.
Bladder - everyone needs to relieve themselves, and have access to the toilets around the ship.
When the level of those bars is low, you can be sure that this person will seek to fulfill their needs. For example, hungry person is sure to come to the diner soon and a person needing fun will appear at the disco or casino in no time.

Sneak Peek - Entertainment Facilities
Under the strong Mediterranean sunshine, passengers will often want to dip in the pool to cool themselves, take a relaxing swim, or have a thrill on the slide. In Cruise Ship Manager you can include outdoor and indoor pools!
If some passengers prefer to spend their time not as actively, they can always opt for a movie seance in the onboard theatre.

The diversity of entertainment is a key to building a well-earning cruise ship. Each of the passengers has different preferences, so the more of those you cover, the more money they are eager to spend.

Cruise Ship Manager takes part in Steam Base Builder Fest
Ahoy, shipowners!
Steam is celebrating the spirit of building habitable spaces - as per usual, featuring tons of sales and demos. As creating a cruise ship is all about making an environment for people to live in and enjoy their time, we are happy to announce that we have joined Base Builder Fest with our demo!
Steam Base Builder Fest will begin today at 10 AM PT / 7 PM CET and end on January 30th at the same time. You will be able to view all the games participating here:
This is a great occasion to try out the demo for Cruise Ship Manager for the first time or replay it. Especially to get up to date with our game in anticipation of the upcoming Cruise Ship Manager: Prologue - Maiden Voyage, which will provide you with a much bigger slice of gameplay (improved with the help of your feedback from this demo, thank you!) for free.
In this blog, we'd like to put a spotlight on the crew that mans the cruise ship. Without them, no vessel would be able to hit the waves. As your ship becomes bigger and better equipped, you will need more professionals to handle all kinds of tasks - from cleaning the rooms to serving guests in restaurants or casinos. You will be managing the crew in Cruise Ship Manager: Prologue - Maiden Voyage, so it's good to have a quick summary.
It's essential to seek recruits when you dock in a port. A useful hiring menu will help you to find the right people for the job. On the left, you have a handy list of all facilities you currently have on your ship. This will help you make the right decisions: where you need more people and how many crew members you'll need to keep your amenities running and in good shape.
Every potential crew member has a variety of stats you need to keep in consideration. Those can be specializations - like gastronomy, entertainment, or engineering - but also individual traits - such as efficiency, organization, or diligence. You don't wanna put a good engineer in the kitchen - if you have a choice.
The higher the stats, the larger the wage. You can see the total wages of already hired staff on the right, so you will know how much more you can spend. You can also hire a batch of crew members - by the most skilled, the cheapest, or even randomly!
Once you hire the crew, you can assign them to different rooms, but also for specific tasks. Those tasks may vary from cleaning or repairing a bed before the passenger gets back to the cabin, to straight-up firefighting if things go bad enough to cause a fire in one of the rooms. You should always be on the lookout if there is an urgent task, and then assign a free crewman with Patrol function. That doesn't mean you don't have to check on people who work on posts. Bad service in a restaurant or a lifeguard that doesn't keep a good eye on the pool will surely anger the passengers and this translates to a lowering reputation.
But beware! Humans are humans - if they are overworked, they will make mistakes and their morale will lower. Replacing fatigued workers and letting them rest is another essential element in running your ship. However, you will often won't have as many crew members as would be optimal. So be ready for some balancing here!
