We are pleased to begin a new series of devlogs for the upcoming game: Cruise Ship Manager. We are so excited to share what we have been working on and to reveal more information about the project itself.
In Cruise Ship Manager you will manage huge cruise ships, recruit crew, and most important of all: make sure that all passengers reach their destination happily and in one piece.
As you may have already noticed, the game will allow you to modify the arrangement of rooms on the ship in such a way as to most effectively and efficiently manage everything during a cruise. The entire main part of the game will be shown from the side of the ship, so it will give you a perfect view of each room and the things happening inside. Prepare for an exciting journey on the high seas!
The above image is from an early work-in-progress version of our game - everything is suspect to change but the image should make it clear what our goal was when we decided on the game's perspective and art direction. We want to present our players with a unique tycoon that has a stylized art style, with easily identifiable rooms, items, and people. Currently, our goal is to increase passenger and room variety.
In the finished game, you will be free to choose which rooms and in what configurations you want to have on your ship. There will be restaurants, clubs, passenger cabins, special rooms and much, much more. Everything you need to maximize your passengers' enjoyment.
The crew members you employ will take care of the passengers' needs, clean up the ship, prepare the best drinks while standing behind the bar, and even repair broken equipment or extinguish fires - that, if unattended, have the potential to consume the entire ship.
Passengers come from different parts of the world and different walks of life, so their habits and needs may differ in small and large ways. As a player, you will need to find a way to satisfy them all. Of course, you can always change ticket or amenity prices to encourage certain types of passengers over others...
